Love this place. Not a huge menu, but what they make, they make well!! Custom made sandwiches, soups, yummy bakery items, great coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating as well as take out options.

Good food and friendly staff. ZERO COVID PRECAUTIONS. None of the staff were wearing masks, not even the kitchen cooks or people serving us our food. Really disappointing that now we have to live with the fact we may get the disease because their staff had no regards for our health and couldn’t follow the simple instructions of wearing a mask during a global pandemic in the food industry.

This place was a very big disappointment I asked for toasted cream cheese bagel and they gave me a bunch of warm bagels wIth a tiny smear of cream cheese. Too bad.

A very pleasant surprise for us. Not much to choose from in the area. But this place is a real find. We had the breakfast skittle that they asked me if I’d like to split when I ordered it with two coffees. They are attentive to things like that.

Great service and surprisingly good food for a smallish coffe shop. Taxes are included in the already reasonable prices. There menu chalk board mentions a "generous" portion of the sandwich meat and it really is a good amount. Nice to see someone make a delicious Rueben with a good amount of really tasty corned beef and no grisel. Service was attentive and humble. Nice modernish atmosphere in the brand new plaza. It will be or new hangout for sure!

I had the pleasure the stop by the café for breakfast and was greeted by lovely people behind the counter. They recommended the bacon skillet and I wasn’t disappointed. The space is cutely decorated and has plenty of windows. RECOMMEND

They have the most delicious poppy seed/cinnamon buns! Sandwiches are pretty good as well. Prices are reasonable too. My only issue is that one time I was in the male cashier that took my order was not super friendly... Little acknowledgement and no smile or thank-you as I made my order. Other than that a great little place to stop by for a treat

What a great cafe! We visited Parksville in November 2021 and found this gem of a cafe as we were driving out of town looking for some lunch before we left. It looks pretty new and crisp inside but we were met with warm smiles and friendly conversation. The staff were so easy to talk to and very efficient with our orders. We had the soup and sandwich for lunch. Corn chowder had a very good flavour and was nice and hot, sandwiches were made with fresh, soft bread and fixings to our liking. My favourite part was a delicious latte and cinnamon knots to finish off our experience. Seems all of their food and beverage is very high quality. I recently read a review of a patron conducting his business in the cafe and gave a 2 star rating because the owners asked him to condense his workspace. Owning a business on the island is not an easy task and giving a business a 2 star rating because the patron wants to use the wifi, electricy and apparently the space for nearly free is not right. This is a privilege, not a right, be respectful.

Pretty small portion if you had a Cinnamon twist for $1.50. But it tasted good. Coffee was from a big container and warm. Not hot. Clean and neat. Very quiet atmosphere.. almost to quiet.. afraid to talk in case someone else could hear you.. nice place , but I think they need Zippy / funky it up a bit. Remember enthusiasm sells...

Depends on what you're looking for - honestly, the food was great as was the coffee. However, trying to work on a laptop and eat/enjoy a coffee does not seem to be their desired clientele. If you want to get work done- go someplace else. Full disclosure: it was busy when we were there and yes we were still drinking our coffees and eating food that we had paid for when we were told it was not a cafeteria and told to give up our tables for other customers. I noticed the man who was drinking his coffee and reading a book, however, was not asked to leave. If a solution had been offered (e.g., switching tables so that we could work at the same table together - we had 2 of the little round tables between us) then this review would be different, but we were told that we were to finish our food and leave. Not good business practices, terrible customer service in this regard (ordering food, etc. was fine), and the worst experience I have had anywhere in Parksville. I will not be back. Edited to add: we chose the spot because I am 7.5 months pregnant and thought would be more comfy in the chairs we originally sat in. My laptop was at no point plugged in and my husband’s was because he’d forgotten to charge his overnight. The second time we were approached it felt very angrily and I can see that this doesn’t seem to be the norm. While I will not return here, as it was a very upsetting situation for me, my goal with this review is to inform others who may be looking for a place to bring their laptop that there are better options available in town to do so.

Chicken and rice soup tasted like store bought broth with separately steamed vegetables and rice put in after its been cooked. Threw out my latte after a few sips. Grilled cheese was apparently fine.

Nice coffee shop and reasonable prices good selection of cakes pastries and light lunches but I did notice tables are to close together so not following social distancing rules they do however have markers on on floor for safe distance while lining up to order. The staff do not wear gloves or masks which I think is unfair to other staff members and customers.When prepairing and serving food during this time gloves and masks should be worn at all times for the safety of all.

The brazen poppy is a very good coffee shop and cafe. I had the breakfast skillet with some tea, the breakfast itself was quite heavy for myself. With a lot of cheese it came out a bit greasy for my liking. The bread used for the toast however was phenomenal, and if that's the quality of the other baked goods I'd be very happy to get more of their goods

This is a wonderful restaurant, bakery, and coffee shop in Parksville, BC. I visited today based on a recommendation. I had the "Custom Sandwich." This includes a choice of meats and other toppings. My sandwich was delicious. I ordered it with the beet soup, which was incredible. The bakery items seem to be really high quality and freshly made. The coffee drinks are also quite tasty. Quality food, combined with good ambience and a friendly staff, make this a must visit place for either breakfast/lunch or socializing with people. I highly recommend it.

The soups, sandwiches and cheeseburgers taste fresh and reasonably healthy. They're comparable in price to a sandwich at Tim Hortons or a burger at A&W for example so i'd prefer to come here. I'd like to see a bit more variety on the menu if possible but everything they do have at the moment is great. Edit: Actually, The patty in the burger tastes more like a previously frozen, over-salted sausage patty than it does a proper beef patty so i might have been giving it too much credit.

Bravo Brazen Poppy!! We had a wonderful Christmas Turkey dinner today complete with all the trimmings including a dessert that was amazing as well. The service was excellent as usual. Absolutely hands down Parksvilles best spot.
