Rudest woman, worst service. You would think she didn’t want customers. I know it’s a pandemic but Jesus woman, would it kill you to be polite to your customers? Especially the ones who want to buy lots of your products in one go? Will not be buying from here again, the food isn’t good enough to outweigh how rude she was. Also, judging from how she reacted to the other criticisms in the reviews that I’ve just read, instead of an apology I’m assuming I’m going to be labeled ‘toxic’ for her own toxic behaviour. Figure that one out...

Vegan cupcakes, yes!! All the vegan ones are also gluten-free, which is even better when you've got celiacs in the family. I love every flavour. Just be sure to get there early because they sell out pretty fast! The woman who runs this place is always so friendly too.

We've ordered so many things from here ... a 50th Wedding Anniversary Cake, Birthday Cakes, and of course, large orders of cupcakes for special events. Everyone always RAVES about how moist and delicious their desserts are. Our out of town visitors still talk about the treats we've given them from here. The one thing I will say is that everything is eat the same day as you get it because she doesn't use preservatives so the cupcakes just aren't as good the next day. They are so good it's hard to save them for other whole day anyway!

I used to luv this place when it first opened. Went in a few weeks ago and the place had a weird smell which killed my cupcake craving???? i bought one anyway to eat later and it was just ok. Sorry, but just does not feel speacial any more????

Read on a blog that this place had one of the best Nanaimo bars. When I went in person they said they specialize in cupcakes and not the bar. It tasted a little stale. Probably better off trying their cupcakes.

Absolutely the best cupcakes! The cream cheese icing on the red velvet cupcake is to die for. The cake is always so fresh and moist. Medina is an absolute gem and a Wee Cupcakery is a great place for the best treats. Second favourite cupcake is the Nanaimo Bar cupcake.

Went here to try the Nanaimo bar cupcakes and walked out with a Black Forest one as well. The cupcakes were so good and fresh. The Nanaimo bar ones tasted just like Nanaimo bars. Next time I am in town I will definitely be visiting again. I was a bit sad the actual Nanaimo bars were sold out so hopefully next time I can grab one.

Purchased a variety of cupcakes for my birthday dinner. We purchased a dozen or 10 (unsure )so each guest could receive a cupcake..... Sadly, everyone disliked them. The cupcakes were more like hard dry muffins and the icing was rock hard and tasted as though it was made with crisco or some form of lard. We called the company the next day to let them know the cupcakes were inedible, we were promptly called back and given a store credit. We thought we would try them again , we even gave them two more attempts as we certainly couldn’t consume the entire credit in one go. Just as they were the last time, the cupcakes were dry muffin like and the icing wasn’t pleasant, along with the cream cheese icing which tasted like straight cream cheese. Not only that the lady that works there or maybe she’s the owner? Anyways, she wasn’t friendly. The store is unwelcoming, full of do not touch signs. Too bad, I really want to support local business. **** edited - wow what a response. I didn’t resort to name calling. Im truly disappointed

this place is overrated. too bad can't put 0 stars. anyways, i was so very excited to try these cupcakes because they looked great. but absolutely tasted horrific ! cupcake was falling apart, icing was disgusting. i would never recommend this place even my worst enemy. not sure how you can mess up a cupcake. i can buy a betty crocker cake mix and it'll STILL taste better than these "cupcakes". waste of money and an absolute joke !????

I recently ordered a custom cake through A Wee Cupcakery and I was blown away at the attention to detail to the design and of course how good it tasted! I would have taken a photo but we got to eating it so fast! Medina is talented an easy to work with. Highly recommended!

I ordered and paid for 8 Vegan Cupcakes to be picked up on Friday, April 13th. Unfortunately my son was taken to emergency and I was unable to pick the cupcakes up on the 13th. I called and told them I would pick them up the next day, Saturday, April 14th. The owner said she would freeze them. I was unable to go Saturday. Then they are closed on Sunday and Monday. I went to the store 3 times over the next 4 days and they had a sign on the door each day saying closed early - the fourth time my caregiver went to pick them up - on April 21st - the owner said she did not have them. When he asked what she did with them she said she threw them out. When he told me what she said I called her and she said she didn't have room in her freezer - when I asked her why no courtesy call telling me that she said "I am not a messenger service"!!! She also did not say "I am SORRY I did not have room in my freezer" and also did not offer any refund or credit. Needless to say I do not recommend doing business with A Wee Cupcakery. I also can't comment on the quality of the Vegan Cupcakes as she threw them out!

Gave great advice as to what to get for a wedding cake and as to the amount of cupcakes. Listen to her when she says not to get enough cupcakes for every guest!! Our cake was absolutely beautiful!!! The cake and cupcakes were also delicious. We were very happy with everything from A Wee Cupcakery :)

I am one of the alleged “two toxic people” who were nothing but polite with this woman after we’d purchased what we felt were cup-muffins...a store owner calling a customer who wasn’t happy with her products “toxic,” should look inward, as this comment embodies toxicity. Reviews are there for a reason. Perhaps we should just lie and say they were fabulous. I suppose we’ve had better elsewhere and expected the same here. We’ve purchased cupcakes in Vancouver at similar establishments and have been wowed with them. As a business that purveys cupcakes as their primary offering, we expected more. While we appreciated her willingness to make it right, the fact remains that they weren’t very good at all. We were not toxic in any way, and am shocked to be assigned that label. Take a look at all her bad reviews...her responses are the same. My advice is either don’t tell her if you don’t like them, or don’t go at all. Childish, acerbic tantrums. I don’t wish her any ill-will at all, and would hope that she would take the criticism constructively.

My wife has several food related allergies including being very sensitive to wheat and corn products. As her birthday approached, I found myself scrambling for options to find her a well deserved treat. Medina came through for me with flying colours! I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice selection of gluten free and vegan cupcake options and my wife was delighted with her birthday treats. We will be regulars!

My wife and I travel to Nanaimo to pick up cupcakes. They have the greatest gluten free cupcakes we have found anywhere! Friendly staff, always smiling, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth the trip!

Unfortunately the only good thing I have to say about the cupcakes at a Wee Cupcakery is that they are very beautiful looking. Taste wise they are pretty dry, crumbly, not sweet enough (icing or cupcake) and I’m not one for sickly sweet things but these seriously lack sweetness. Since moving to Nanaimo I’ve gone multiple times thinking each time will be better but it’s always the same issues. In particular the coconut cupcake with cream cheese frosting - the frosting tastes just like cream cheese without any sweetness.
