REVIEWS OF Patisserie Harmonie IN Montreal

AtThe Edge

I tried several buns and pastries that were all delicious. The prices are good and the staff friendly. Like many chinese places however, this patisserie is miles away from eco-friendly packaging, wrapping every single item in single-use plastic bags. Even after telling them to put it into the paper bag I brought them, they wrapped it in plastic before doing so.

Michael Xu

Excellent selection of buns, cakes, and other Asian sweets. Really delicious and fresh. Very reasonably price, but like most places in this area, they only accept cash or debit. It does get quite packed at times because of the small space inside, so be prepared to bump into people

Amy Agust

LOVE IT! They have so many variety of patisseries and so many choices of drinks too! One thing to expect though is that the place is a bit small so it gets crowded really easily. Besides that, everything is the, the organisation, the goods, it’s perfect! Would recommend 100%!

Jacob

Stopping into Patisserie Harmonie was a fantastic surprise! The large front window display of pastries entices you to go in, to then be welcomed by the scent of baked goods both savory and sweet. The presentation was so appetizing, I forgot to take a picture! Highly recommend Patisserie Harmonie for breakfast, lunch, or even a quick pick-me-up in the middle of the day!

Rawad Elias

** Cash or Debit only! ** Fantastic selection of pastries, sweet buns, and cakes. Prices are extremely reasonable and the variety is abundant. Pickup a tray, pair of tongues and start filling up your tray then head to the cash and start enjoying the fantastic desserts. Chinese doughnut was one of my favorites. The Sesame filled Mochi was ok. Definitely try Harmonie and you won't be disappointed!

Andrew Muttiah

Great place to go to for a variety of pastries and drinks. They sweet and savory pastries available. With a wide variety of drinks including bubble tea and juices. They also have unique candy. Prices are slightly high but worth it because of the quality of food. Very busy place because it is small.

Fabi Bartlet

I only go there to get the sticky rice. Is delicious.

Vanessa Kennedy

Lots of Asian dessert options here at very reasonable prices. I tried some of the mochis and a variety of coconut buns and loved them all! Plus they have a drink here that I haven't found in years!

Ritu Thapa

Amazing amazing amazing!! Love the pastries here, especially the prices! I got chinese beignets, the mango mochi, and custard filled sesame ball and everything tasted magnifique! Definitely a must visit place when you come to chinatown in Montréal.

Jennifer Tang

Came here for the character buns and absolutely no regrets! So adorable and they were 2.50 each which was such a great deal considering how big and filling they are. They only take debit or cash- just a heads up. Highly recommend!

Natasha Marie Niering

Great bakery for small quality baked goods. I recommend the matcha honey cake, pineapple moon cakes, mango slim cookies and the mochi (the white one omg). They have so much more, but those stood out

Loulou's Picture

Great place for all kind of great pastries that are cheap.

Xaya Blood (Jade Scorpio)

The pork bun I got had more sauce then meat otherwise the sweets were very good

Food is not bad but of you pay cash watch out they dont like to give the change back that was my experience today. I normally go every sunday with my daughter she love that place we always spend $50 to 60 each week this time only had $22 spent 14.80 i gave her 20.80 and when i paid the cashier she was talking to another worker when i turned my head to see who she was speaking to she gave the bag to my daughter we walk out i asked for the recipient my daughter said she did not give recipient or change i walked back in she asked when did i come in lol i said i just did 2 seconds ago it was not busy when i went just 2 other people. I told her i not coming back to this bakery they not honest. Its sad my daughter really loves that place

Sara Lake

Been here a few times so far, lots of great choices even my super picky 4 year old loves it here. If you’re in Montreal and heading for China Town add this to your list of stops for either a sweet treat or savoury snack you won’t regret it (If your looking for an easy recommendation go for the sweet buns, I could live off them).

Lisa Mah

This is a good place if you're looking to get a quick hot snack on the go. Food is quite decent. My personal favorite bakery bread is the beef curry. (I also like that it isn't spicy.) ;)

Anthony Woo

Nice pastry shop. There a great variety of buns and they are very fresh. I really love their bbq porc buns with a nice milk tea. Aside from the buns they have custom cake orders and good choices for drinks. Great place for a quick snack and drink when on the run.

Laura

One of the highlights of our trip! So fun and yummy.

D C

Really good bread and bakery items, made with high quality ingredients. They also have a small selection of real fruit smoothies and real boba. But they will try to add the powder to them if you are not watching.

Haritos Kavallos

Certainly the best bakery in the Chinatown area. I recommend taking a few minutes to check out their pastries and savory goods. I always find myself purchasing a few things before heading home.

Paul Brown

This was one of the busiest pâtisseries that i saw while venturing around Montreal. Pork buns, chicken teriyaki buns, hot dog rolls, coconut filled buns, the list just goes on and on. The food is amazing and relatively inexpensive. We purchased 2 trays of buns and rolls for $20 and in the NYC's chinatown the same would have easily gone for over $60. Definitely stop here.

Tony Moulatsiotis

It was quite busy when I went in here around 4pm. I can't say I've been to a Chinese bakery before...but these pastries are pretty darn delicious! As for their authenticity, I have no idea. But, very good nonetheless.

Slyvia Novac

Pleasant ambiance. Comfy place. Good food. Sweet tasty sauce. Friendly Staff. Convivial clients. I definitely come back to try other pastries.

Geoffrey Crofte

Cheap but very good bao with at least 23 choices. Bubble tea and other pâtisseries are also available and quite good.

Nathalie Connolly

Very much enjoy coming here whenever I get the chance. My favorites are the watermelon mochi and their coconut braids! They have a great selection of pastry and many flavors of pocky. Their selection of bubble tea is very good.

good job bob

Go here all the time when in Montreal Great cheap tricks :) Highly recommend, I would try everything and then go back for more ) It is very busy and lots of turnover Mike my review with me thumbs up

Alex Holmes

Every time I come to Montreal, I have to go to this place. Best pricing on the pastries. My favorite is the Japanese cheese cakes! I don’t know how they get that amazing, light, texture!!!

Isuru Vidanalage

Amazing Pastries!! Tried few Custard, Almond, Coconut sweet flavors and chicken bun. We went two times back to back to buy more. Reasonable prices. Most of the food is around $2 each. Highly recommend this place for Pastries. Fast services and friendly staff!

Linh Dieu

Cheap delicious bread!! Used to come here so many times when I craved for sweet treats and it really hit the spot! However the last 2 times I had breads from here my stomach hurt. Not sure about the quality but I'm afraid to come back.

Jonathan Hart

Excellent Chinese bakery making different pastries, moon cakes, and cookies. Worth a visit if in the area.

Justine Soucy

The pastries are so good and so cheap. It's impossible to dislike. I spend most of my time downtown so I go to Coco bun which is the same chain. My favourites are the relish and hotdog buns, meat patties, spinach pastries, and cheese buns. The staff is always so lovely. The place is always packed and they get everything done pretty fast.

indy lex

Lot's of choices, prices is good, taste fresh the one I bought ????

Shanny Foo

Amazing sticky rice balls - only bakery I've been able to find in all of Montreal since moving here. The sesame one is my favourite... unfortunately, they don't have red bean. The prices are pretty high compared to other places, but the quality is good too.

Sandie Rotgé

The only downside with this place is that it's unfortunately on my way to work. No matter how hard I try, I can't avoid it.

Troi Perkins

Can't beat the price for the quality/quantity. My husband and I wanted some snacks to tie us over for dinner and this was the place. Sweet and savory pastries are abundant with some served hot as well. You grab a plate and pick what your want then pay. You do need cash though unless your Canadian which even then they will only take debit.

Stephanie Daye

Love this little gem in the heart of Chinatown. Wonderful deals on pork and chicken buns. Look for the coffee and bun combo if you stop in. Food tastes great and the kids will find something to feast on. Easily could have spent more buying up treats to stuff in my backpack.

A.I. Diebold

The food was very good and reasonably priced, especially the BBQ pork bun. However, the layout of the shop was very confusing and it was overcrowded. There were people cutting the line too! The employees at the counter were not friendly and were very impolite and cold.

Irene

A visit to Chinatown, we were looking for lunch. We passed by this bakery and decided to come back after lunch. And we did, we picked up few regular egg tarts, Portuguese egg tarts and red bean mochi. The egg tarts were warm, flaky and egg custard yummy. The Portuguese egg tarts were just as good. One egg tart already missing before got a chance to take this photo, so figure how yummy they are.

Anthony

Love their baked goods! Always stop by when I'm in town.

David Gomes

Very good bakery, I like this place more than cocobun but it can still never replace Chao which closed down recently.

Roberto Martinez

Been going here for a few years. Always gotten yummy buns, especially the custard bun. Good prices and good portions.

Phillips Lee

Our favourite bakery and there’s never something we haven’t tried before to have. Even if we have had something elsewhere the food is delicious and we always stuck up a bunch so we have a bunch to have at home over the next couple of days. It’s always a stop when we’re in the area and we enjoy it thoroughly and I can heartily recommend anyone come here for some delicious pastries and snacks.

Nathan Whalen

Wow - amazing bakery in the heart of Montreal’s Chinatown. Very low prices (~$2 per bun/dessert) and everything is always fresh due to the high foot traffic (saw 40 people go in and out in a 20-minute time period on Saturday afternoon). Small space but well used and a delightful assortment of danishes, pastries, etc. from all over the world (not just Chinese); well staffed and surprisingly quick service to pay. Also serves drinks like coffee, tea, and bubble tea. Be sure to try the Iced Hong Kong Milk Tea.

Thomas Lang

Great prices people and products! Keep it up!

Fleurien Leth Graveson

Always delicious and fresh. Staff is kind and fast. Amazing prices, too.

Mo Afshar

The quality to price ratio of this place can’t be beaten. Also really appreciated the freshness of the sweet/savoury buns.

Ivan F

Pastries are OK. Pretty good but nothing special. What brings down my review is the staff. They should tell them they could smile sometimes and try to be a little more friendly (at least the one on the weekend).

Louise Tokar

Really good pastries. It's a shame I lost my beautiful cheesecake that I only ate a third of on the train back to Toronto

Amélie Zh

这家算是蒙城我比较喜欢的中式糕点地方了! 去Montreal必走进去! (我可人在多伦多) This is a review for the old times, bare with me. The breads were fresh, lots of selections. Not at all expensive either. The workers really love their job. I kept an old school business card just to be reminded how much I adored this place!

Reese De Luca

Picked up a birthday cake for my mother in law and it was absolutely delicious. We chose the chocolate Asian fruits cake and there was an abundance of fruit between each layer of fluffy sponge cake and was topped with a light, just sweet enough whipped topping.

Anthony Lariviere

There is always a long line running through it, especially during Convention season, but with good reason: The buns and pastries are simply fantastic. I highly recommend the BBQ Pork Buns and the Steam Cakes. Pricing is very good, you can enter and exit with a bag topped with what you want

Noa

Love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The egg tart is definitely in my top 5 I've had in this city!

W Zhang

Asian style bakery goods is sold here. They are one of the best in town. The store located in China town do not charge tax on the purchase. Be aware that the sweetness is more lean towards North America standard. Expected they are sweeter than the real Asian counterparts.

Aditya Mantha

Try the Donuts they’re essentially sugar buns, but are pretty great. All other desserts are good also.

Andrey Kossarev

If you're looking for something sweet, savory and delicious, than this is definitely your place. Absolutely amazing selection of freshly baked goods for an unbeatable price!!

Ronald Santos

This restaurant produces the Chinese style sticky buns at a level of quality and service which it's no better or worse than its many competitors. Which is to say, while their offerings are as delicious, nothing really makes them stand out, either.

Denis Brown

Best selection! Best service! Best experience overall by far!

Therealllgabman13

I love the savoury buns and the pastries so much!

Douglas Dense

Great and fast service, amazing pastries and the bbQ pork bun is crazy good. You really are getting what you paid for with the bubble teas. I suggest asking them for a strawberry bubble tea with milk, but ask them to mix it with banana for an extra dollar. Love this place!

Soheui Park

Place not to miss when you come to Chinatown???????? Budget friendly. Most of the items are $2 or little up. Where can you get a bread with $2?

Uriel Pinsonneault

Cheap eats, great selection of yummy pastries! We love going there often. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 just because of very average service. They also do not speak French.

Anmol Joneja

The baos and cakes are really good. Loved their Japanese cheesecake too. Unlike many places they don't overdo the sweetness in the bbq buns

Eve F

Love this bakery its so delicious especially the Chinese donuts omg to die for ????????

J3 S

This bakery is very good and well located. The store is well lit and it clean. This bakery is very popular and they seems to have fresher goods. This place also is a little pricier than the other bakeries in Chinatown. This place is not wheelchair accessible and it is difficult for those who have strollers since the space can restricted due to the amount of customers.

Patrick Themessl

I stop here every time I'm nearby, they have amazing treats. Looks like they recently changed their recipes and everything tastes even better now but everything is also sooooo greasy now, the paper bag was soaked in grease. Not sure how to feel about that... Also it's time to expand, the place is now too crowded.

Orum

Honestly I only come here for the bubble tea nowadays, compared to some other places it is slightly cheaper. The quality of the bread isn't good, I'm not saying it should be like something from a professional bakery, but even for the price it feels extremely lacking. Most of the time when I got bread there, it lacks taste and it's dry. Their cookies are still pretty good. It's a good place if you just need a small bite and don't particularly care for taste.

Michel Lafleur

Absolutely amazing bread, soft and tasty, wonderful assortment of choices of stuffing and different varieties of buns, both sweet and savoury. When in town, we typically stop in here more than once, so good.

Alex Schoedel

Our tour guide of the Gray Line bus (see other review) told us about this place having the best pastry in Chinatown. We decided to give it a try and I loved it. I had what looked like a croissant, but it was in fact a chocolate filled and baked yeast dough. Very fresh and delicious, a little chewy but not gummy. I can definitely recommend this place. I want to try a few more when I come to Montreal next time.

Liz Fend

In 2019 I visited Montreal and I visited this bakery. The first time I ever tried their bubble tea and their desserts I fell in love with them. I love this bakery and they’re so good at what they do. The people who work there are very kind and good. I would love to visit this bakery again

Bubba Bri

Best Chinese baked goods in Ontario OR Quebec, better than anything in GTA, which sucks because I live in Toronto! A must whenever stopping anywhere nearby in Montreal!

Laura De Medeiros

Very standard Chinese bakery however they do offer you quite a large selection and prices are cheap. It's probably one of the more better ones in Chinatown. They have sweets as well as items more on the savory side for people who don't have a sweet tooth. They also sell various cakes and bubble tea.

Simon Potvin

So many good choices of pastries, all for a cheap price too. Staff are friendly and efficient and you can't go wrong with a delicious bubble tea either. Definitely a place to drop by for a little baked snack.

Andrei Sofian

The best homemade pastries in town , i come here from 50km away once a week . That says a lot .

Jordon Hope

Good, but a little pricey for what you get. We found the pastries to be a little light on filling and heavy on dough. The flavours were good, but not great (although we have admittedly high standards!)

Anastasia Gheorghe

A very beautiful and clean pastry shop with a lot of variety. I went there to buy dessert buns, they have buns with custard cream, coconut or even red bean! And they also have many other flavours. You’ll also find other buns that are with meat and there’s other types of desserts like mochi. But I can sincerely say that me and my family loved the buns and we’ll come back again!

Johnny Salgado

I walked in with not knowing what to expect. I'd been to other pastry shops and they were okay. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was yummy. The bread was so doughy. The chocolate mousse filled pastry was delicious. My only disappointment is this place is not close to home. Lol

L Bailey

The egg tarts were rubbery/overcooked on the top, and I never thought I'd say this because I love butter, but - the dough was too buttery! Or maybe they used margarine instead? Or many just too much salt? I'm not sure what, but I was quite disappointed :(

Kathy Phung

My go to place for buns in chinatown! It happens that sometimes i go there around 3pm, and everything is empty. When it gets crowded, it can be difficult to circulate inside.

Der Summer

Love love loveeeee this place. Especially in the summer. Eating a fresh bun with a cool drink, chilling in the sun. It's always packed but I understand why, haha. I love their cute bun designs as well. Definitely recommend!!!

Honey Di

Really good food qnd affordable. They don't accept foreign cards though. Better bring cash if you're a tourist.

Kristin Siggelkow

Best steambuns ever! They have fun sweet ones and a large variety of savoury. We are so glad we found this place! Cheap too!

Christopher Blackwell

Cannot go wrong. All the Asian patisseries in montreal are far exceeding the French ones. They can't even compete in the same league in my opinion.

Maria Elizabeth Beatriz Padua

A recent trip to Montreal found us trying them out because they were next door to the hotel we stayed at. So, we compared the pastries at Patisserie Harmonie with another pastry shop down the same street. Hands down and unanimously, this was a way better place to buy cakes. We loved it so much that we bought a whole lot to take back home to Toronto. Pleaded they open one here too. Have to say, they contributed to how wonderful our visit to Montreal was.

Anthony Babbitt, PhD, MS

This adorable little shop makes some of the best pastries! The eclairs, in particular, are divine. When you enter, grab a tray to the right of the door, and a set of tongs. You have a better selection earlier in the day, because a lot of things will sell out. It's well worth the visit!

Alicia

I was drawn to this place because of the cute character buns that they had on display. They’re warm and fresh as soon as you get it and there are many flavours to choose from! The bubble waffle on the other hand took a long time to make.

Kmae

One of my fave bakery’s to get those fresh buns on the go! Good selection, fresh and clean location.

Sarah Xu

Got the fried curry bun, bbq bun, and corn+ham bun. They were all delicious and will definitely be going back

heyo keyo

Great Asian bakery with commercial style goods. Good prices, but don't wait till the end of the day. Some product aren't restocked throughout the day, but that's expected.

S K

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO A GOURMET BAKERY. 1) They keep boasting about their "secret recipe for dough that makes everything taste great," yet fail to notice that that's what's making their pastries (and filling!) taste bland, uniform and unexciting. Sure, they have other kinds of dough and wrapping, but most stuff is made with the same dough. 2) Compared to New York, the prices are easily double or 1.5 times more. Actually, not all that cheap. For some of the prices, you're actually better off buying gourmet pastries or a fancy donut elsewhere. 3) The cartoon character buns looked nice initially, but the staff isn't sufficiently skilled to even keep the outer layer uniform; so it's all bubbly. 4) On the whole, quality has gone down. The cookies are tasteless, the sugar on the 3 skewered donut balls has started sticking to the oil and losing their whitish tint.

Kristofer Giot

I go here all the time. Best pastry shop in Chinatown
