Considering how busy Costco can be and the frustration customers bring into the store- I find the service excellent. The only reason I give it a lower grade is the parking. Needs more disabled parking and should be changed to one ways to allow for better traffic flow. They need a consultant to update the parking.

It's costco, what can I say. I love this place. It seems like no matter what you buy at Costco, it's always a great deal. Either a higher level product for a better price, or a larger portion at a better price. It's why there is never any parking available lol. But of course, my favorite part of costco isent the shopping, it's the world famous hot dog and pop for $1.50. If I had to live on one food only...I would choose this hot dog ????

You'd think with the labor day long weekend, the store would be overwhelming. 90% of clients wore masks. Employees work efficiently, happy to inform clients about products, smiling genuinely. All cashes are open, with speedy teams who love what they do. 110% love the Costco experience!

On almost every occasion I've shopped at Costco when there were lonnggggg lines of customers, the service cashiers and packers have processed the orders with amazing speed. I actually timed my journey (7 medium full carts) in front of me and I was through in 6 minutes. I have waited longer for a coffee at 'you know where'.

Phone system defective. I just wanted to get through to see if a certain product was there before I drive all the way there for it, as I live out of town. Could not get an answer at any department, phone options are on a loop but never leads to a human to speak to. Please fix your phone system.

I love this particular store. I have a Service Dog in Training, and the staff are so helpful and accommodating. I live in Nova Scotia and travel to Moncton because of this. Now she is a Costco shopper too!

Great experience as usual. Only one issue... the cooking directions on items like lasagna and shepherd's pie are very hard to read and are printed in awkward area. Please make these things bigger so one doesn't have to search or grab glasses. Thank you.

A stressful shitshow of badly parked cars, haphazardly positioned shopping carts in the center of aisles while locals use this melting pot to converse at length about trivialities. The store is great, the people using it need to get a clue. Line ups are long and nonsensical, curving off in random directions away from the tills.

A very good corner location, a feeling of busy,warm and close in the parking lot even in a slow season. Less lights than other Costco and missing a drug store with bench seat for shopper, but I like it!!!

Nice clean store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer to help with everything from loading heavy items into your cart to unloading your cart into your car. One of the best Costco stores I have been to.

Tried to get the tire center on the phone to inquire if their tire sale was on as when they had told me to phone in about a month ago and check. Tried to do that today and after 4 tries and being hung up on without them answering, I decided to give my business to a local tire shop. Costco is second to none when it comes to speed at the checkout, and COVID-19 measures haven't slowed things down much, if at all. I appreciate the vigilance of the store greeters and staff in ensuring all shoppers are masked and that everyone's nose and mouth is covered. Earlier opening hours for seniors are also a much appreciated accommodation. I would have given Costco five stars, but we are frequently disappointed when one of their products we love has been discontinued. Most recently their box of multigrain breakfast cereal is missing from the shelves. Cheerios make a poor substitute.

We went on a Sunday morning and I strongly suggest that you avoid this time at all costs. By the time we left it was insane. Literally people everyone insane. The Garden centre is small but carries a good variety. The only thing that I was looking for but couldn't find was goat yogurt. Which isn't ideal but they can't have everything.

It's Costco; they're all the same. Need large sized items at a discounted price? This is your place. I have to say, though, the experience of being frisked on my way in and out is getting tired fast, not to mention demeaning. Checking my items after I've paid for them? Who the hell do you think you are? The corner store across from my high school? How about setting up your warehouse in a way that eliminates the need for this, thereby at least casting the illusion that you trust your customers.

Costco rule about only allowing 1 credit card to be used at their store is a dumb idea since it allows Costco members to be charged high interest 19.75%+ on their purchases and gives a monopoly to that 1 credit card company. Costco's Capital One Credit card is the worst company to deal with for customer service. Not only will Costco customers have have a long wait to speak to one of their customer representatives, when they do reach someone they will find out that they are unwilling to help or unable to help the customer. For example if you miss a payment no matter the amount outstanding or the credit limit of the card they will cancel your card. Most of you will not care about this policy of capital one until you miss that one payment and are unable to pay at the checkout or buy the supplies you need for your business. The fault maybe 100% on their side, for example they didn't send you a bill, but they still will not help you get your card reactivated. One customer service manager said it was because their computer system decides which cards to cancel and their is no method for a human to correct or change their system and it wouldn't matter who or how high up a person I could speak with they would all give the same answer. Costco really needs to change this policy before it hurts their sales.

I can't recommend the optical department here enough. I had one of the arms of my glasses break off and they managed to find an arm that fit so I would have to wear an old pair, or order a new pair. They are always so friendly and definitely helpful. The prices are good too.

This location is really nice! Also it's not constantly super busy. They have everything you could want in a Costco and nice service. The checkout lines generally move pretty fast and I've had people help me get things to my car multiple times (mattresses etc) The parking lot can be hard to navigate though, but what else can you expect from a costco

The hours are bad, even the dollar store is open from 8am to 10pm. With my wife and i working opposite shifts and kids at home it is next to impossible to shop here. It is so busy there and the waits so long that i regret each time i have to step into that store. I would rather double book the dentist and dr on the same day than goto costco, but with one yr old twins i need many diapers and wipes. So i will go through misery to save myself some money but if you guys had any actual competition i would be going there instead

It's Costco. Any questions? Alright, maybe you do. Great prices on great quantities. Buying bulk? Here's the place to do it. Things to keep in mind: you need a membership card so the often tasty samples aren't technically free, lots of people shop here so wait times can spike considerably, the size for price doesn't guarantee you the best price but you usually can find great deals if you don't mind surplus. Also due to the amount of people be prepared to master shopping cart traffic. People shop at different paces so this can cause some pretty painful trudges through isles. Last but not least. You should probably swing by the food stalls after you shop. The hotdog is fairly priced and pretty good if you like that kind of food. A pleasant reward for you after a successful spree.

Twice I have run into staff problems at this Costco. The first time it was because they wanted to search my bag, yet did not search any female purses (even though they are bigger). I talked to the manager and she said that it was illegal to search a purse. I informed her that she is incorrect about the law and that they cant search anything if someone refuses. Moreover that if they only ask men with briefcases and to not ask women with purses it falls under discrimination. She said she would get back to me... but never did. On the way out I was searched again. I informed the staff that they cant do this and a staff member got quite upset and rude about the matter and defended his discrimination against males in a very mocking way and proceeded to make up non Costco policies. I followed up 2 weeks later, I had a different manager come out who said "I heard about you" and agreed with me that it is discrimination if they do this and that he was aware that any search (even the receipt and shopping cart check) was voluntary. He said that he will speak to the staff about discriminating between males and females. The second issue was today. I used a Costco cash card to buy some onions, and the guy at the till asked for my membership card. I told him that membership cards are not required with Costco Cash cards. We argued a little bit, so I told him the information about the card is on Costco's website. He responded with a condescending "I would like to see that" remark. He then got someone to come to the till in order to allow the transaction. The person who came to the till kept trying to sell me a Costco membership and dodged my question about needing a membership to use the Cash Card. Every time I asked "Do I need a membership to use this card" she would respond with "There are a lot of benefits to having a membership" I finally interrupted her and said "answer my question", where she replied with "no you do not". I then told her she should inform this staff member because he seems to think I do. As I left the person bagging the groceries looked at me with a "i am sorry" smile. I really dont understand why they sell a product that the staff do not know the rules about, or why staff are allowed to be rude. And if I use this cash card, do I need to hear a sales pitch every time? Finally, why cant people just say "I have not heard that before, let me find out for you" rather then telling me I am wrong and saying snide remarks.

Stand in enormous lines to pay for things you really don't need then stand in another line to be treated like a criminal when leaving when they tell you they check receipts to make sure you have everything. How they scan everything in my cart and scan my 2 foot long receipt in under 6 seconds and make sure I have everything is a mystery to me. But I keep going back.

This year was our first purchasing a Costco membership, and we purchased at the executive level. We are also new to NB, having moved here from Ontario. We've found the cashier staff to be very helpful and friendly... However, my partner and I were looking at children's PJs for our niece and we couldn't find her size on the table. A box of those pj's was laying open on the isle floor infront of the table. I bent down to look and see if the proper size was in the open box and the moment I did a Costco employee (an older woman with grey hair and glasses) rushed up and very rudely accused me of pulling the box out from under the table and opening it. I informed her that I hadn't and I just bent down to look for the proper size in an already opened box that was already layingin the isle. She was unwilling to be helpful, and again accused me of opening the box. Because of this interaction I will not be renewing my membership.

Love this Costco. Until recently. Had two separate back to back occasions with check out staff that were extremely rude and disrespectful. I spoke to a duty manager they did not seem keen to take my report. That was disappointing too. It was a stressful and embarrassing situation I do not wish to repeat. Great location. Good variety. Consistent quality. Only downside is always spend too much. Oh... the samples. Mmm. Please like my review if it was helpful.

It's just like any other Costco. Big and bright. Although some of the prices are higher on certain items. ie: coffee-$19.99. On the mainland $17.99. I can't believe that just because we live on Vancouver Island ; it will cost me $2 more for an item. Also corn on the cob ( available on the mainland; not available on the island ). If you were on a health kick, and wanted to drink soy milk; they only have the sweetened soy milk. I know a lot of people that drink soy milk.... none of them drink sweetened soy milk.

Friendly staff. They’re very helpful and make sure the experience is great, especially at checkout. Appreciate the covid guidelines in place. The collection of books for kids are regularly updated. Also books for adults are of great variety. Clothes are not bad. They seem to sell out quickly especially for kids. Sometimes they bring really cool footwear for kids. The thing I like the most is the inclusion and variety at the food section. I can find middle eastern food, pita bread, halal meat, and ready meals. Their return policy of course is the best on earth! Unfortunately, some services like photos are closed due to covid. Hopefully things will be back soon!

They have a very good parking lot with lots of space between cars so that you can fully open your side door to load up your goodies. Great deals all around at this Costco location in Nanaimo. Staff were very accommodating, helping me find a heater that I saw on the internet. The tire guy is the best as well as he was very knowledgeable about the service. Lots of things to do around the Costco as well if you are waiting for tires. And the samples are of course a nice touch if you are shopping before supper time. The camping gear is out this time of year! 4 stars for this Costco location, would be 5 if they had a gas bar!!!

Decent product for the price, can be on the expensive side of things. Good selection but if you want it, get it when you see it or it will probably be gone the next time you go. Even though they say you don't need a receipt to return, you run the risk of not getting full value for your return, TRUST ME! Quality of the products are decent to good on most items, clothing is off standard to good quality, I find the fit of their clothes on the slightly smaller scale. I have been told by employees that they run 6 months ahead in seasons. Like now it's July and they have their snowsuits out! Makes it hard to gage when you never know when your kids may take a growth spurt, so buy them bigger.

EDIT: They have self serve cashes now. It’s pretty convenient. There’s still tweeks to do to the system but it is new after all. But then at the end the machine gives you a different receipt. So you go to walk out where they double check receipts and carts and you hand them this different receipt. The person then checks you out head to toe, observes your cart for a solid minute, reads the receipt, does this a good 3 times before we are proven worthy of not being thieves. Short answer don’t use the self serve, it just makes this great staff think you’re stealing. Because I go to Cosco, which I pay a premium for a membership, then buy hundreds of dollars worth of bulk items so I can sneak an item right? Must be the grand scheme I’ve been planning. Original Review: This is getting ridiculous. Always have loved Costco, great prices on bulk items etc it is what you would expect. How ever, my review is based on the current state of customer service at this centre. It is unacceptable in my opinion. Over my last few visits in the past months I had noticed cashiers being rude to elderly people and a few others but never to myself. I thought this was not correct. Today, I was YELLED at, in an angry manner by a cashier who needed me to move about a foot because I was not standing in the correct area. What? I was standing where, a month ago, we were getting told to stand because of covid guideline. Exactly where we were getting told to stand the last time I visited this centre. Not near anyone or anything. Instead of kindly asking or just being a decent person about it and saying that now we have to stand over here and not over there, I was yelled at, in an angry manner. And I’ve seen it done to other people too. This is a terrible way to treat paying customers. Paying customers who pay a premium to access this place. Treated like an animal or a number and nothing more. If covid is affecting your mental health and you shouldn’t be working around the public then stay home, don’t try to serve the public. Terrible visit here tonight that led me to writing this review. Review your employees or something this is not a good way to do business.

Way too overcrowded, they need two more stores to be able to compete, horribly disorganized membership sign up, very unfriendly staff until you put in a complaint THEN they learn how to smile and be polite. Membership signup does not give proper information about what is required, and they are unable to show you where the hidden requirements were stated. Warehouse is incredibly disorganized, you need to go IN through the exit to get to the membership desk. They had the opportunity to correct this mess when they moved, they could have kept the old location open so they werent overcrowded and they COULD have built the new warehouse to be more logical and efficient but opted to stay confusing and disorganized so they get 1 star.

When we visited the whole place was kinda swamp specially the cashier. With covid around I recommend bringing a sanitizer. They were also kinda inconsistent with what they say. Doing subtotal was allowed on selfcheck out before but then when we did came suddenly its not. This inconsistency makes things a bit complicated considering how kinda crowded the place were. It has a great selection of things to buy but the experience shopping there was just okay.

I love Costco, I have lived in a fair few cities and been to quite a few different Costco's. This one is great, however, my biggest complaint is it is completely and utterly disorganized when it comes to the amount of people shopping. No one is paying attention to where they are going it is very chaotic, there's no order especially during a pandemic. The other Costco's that I've been to have it very clearly set out ways for people to go through the stores and limit the amount of people, that is really the only complaint. Otherwise it's a great Costco has everything you need staff seems to be very friendly and helpful and the store is very clean.

This is one big Costco! It's really roomy, so it helps with the traffic. I'm really happy about the gas pumps. Great price! For those of you going to get gas, remember that you'll need both your Costco card and a credit card. For some reason, people were VERY confused about that. I like that they kept a few similarities with the previous location. It feels like they'll need to rethink the parking lot. The traffic in there was a bit chaotic.

Weird experiance today. Not bad, but didn't like the way cashier slid my limes and some of the produce like she was losing at shuffle board and trying to knock the opposition out of the game, it just felt like she was 'off'. Mostly didn't like that the lady drawing lines on the bill explained to my child that she couldn't draw a happy face when he politely asked (hardly ever asks). I thought she was joking and smiled, but when I saw she was serious, I almost wanted to grab her pen and draw a happy face myself for my child. How hard is :) two dots and a line? :( for her.

Be prepared to go on a treasure hunt, Costco regularly swaps things around to make their inventory feel fresh, which it is because they've always got new items to browse every week. Sometimes the aisles can seem to be filled to the brim with inconsiderate shoppers, as can any store, but more often than not the Costco clientele are of the highest calibre and very courteous. And worth every penny not just in savings, the membership fee goes a long way towards providing the staff a comfortable salary, making them very delighted to be of service. Always a terrific experience. Be warned, however, you will always spend more than you'd intended.

This is a good place to get large items that might be cheaper than other locations. .. we typically get items for morning smoothies before work, carrots, mini cucumbers, for work lunches, chicken, for the endless chicken recipes there are, eggs, mango juice for the smoothies, and toilet paper when it is on sale ... typically the price is 13.99 but it comes on sale very often for under 10 dollars. The cheapest I purchased it was 7.99. Keep an eye on the price of items like this to see you can get them for less money

Huge parking lot, all parking is free, spans entire length of store, parking spaces are big and have allotted space on either side for doors to open (best parking lot in the city to be honest). Entire store is wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms are clean and large too. The food concession has the best hotdogs I've ever had in my life and for the best price I've ever seen. Only issue is I think it's still cash only at the food court. Lots of variety in types of products, limited selection within each product type though. ex. There are (among other things) water bottles, fans, TVs, desserts, clothes, coffee, and ice cream, but within the ice cream section the 4L tubs only come in vanilla. No small portions here! Very easy to spend a lot of money here.

I am in general a Costco lover, and will continue to shop at Costco, including this one, for many years to come; however, this particular store is quite small. You will often find items trialed here for a month or two and then taken off the shelves, where as other Costco's continue to carry them. It makes it challenging as a shopper. Another thing about this Costco in relation to other Costco's is its lack of a gas/propane station. These are things that I would (and when in other cities do) use regularly. That being said the quality of their product is always top notch, they have an amazing return policy, and are very well priced for most items.

Hey it's Costco if you don't mind buying in bulk it works out pretty good. I'm sorry they don't carry alcohol like they do in California. I think Costco purposely does not have people on the floor to help and direct you to products. This way you have to shop every aisle yourself and possibly pick up impulse items. Rather clever! And to keep that cycle going they move things around a lot.

Overall the new location of the Costco in Moncton, NB is better. More parking, bigger store with perhaps a better layout and selection. The food court setup is an improvement with plenty more room. My complaint is the roads getting into the Costco. Clearly the traffic is too much for the main route into the store. There are plenty of accidents at the intersection of the Costco entrance, and the traffic seems to be getting worse (esp, with the construction of more retail along this road). I would have thought this level of traffic would have been foreseen in the planning and development of the new store.

Annoyed with the new policy that you must have a membership to even be allowed to go in and get hot dogs at the food court. Have been doing this for AGES as a cheap and quick lunch, and the staff are very hit or miss on enforcing it. We were told once a few months ago that this policy would be implemented, and then nothing ever came of it. Out of nowhere though, very rude staff refused to let me and my friend and her 3 yr old even enter the store, just to go to the cafeteria. Staff were very rude about it to us, but I have heard from other friends and family since this happened that they have been able to walk right in and go to the food court with no hassle. Management needs to streamline there information and policies

So glad that I moved all of my prescriptions to Costco Pharmacy. We were customers of Shoppers Drug Mart, but had experienced many issues with them and a total lack of customer care. The level of care and service that we receive from Costco Pharmacy in Moncton is far above any Shoppers we've ever been to. The Costco Pharmacy staff are friendly, courteous, caring and treat you like you are their #1 customer. We even get call backs confirming a script was faxed. I honestly have not experienced service like this before from a big box store. Thank you Costco, and thank you to all the staff doing their best everyday! Your efforts are noticed and very much appreciated ????

This is where I prefer to buy the majority of my groceries for my family of four and I always save a ton of money every time. The Gold Card VIP membership basically pays for itself so annual fees are not a concern. The staff here are all friendly and helpful. They always show an interest in making sure all of my needs are taken care of. While shopping you can send your kids (or bored loved ones,) to grab fresh cooked food from a separate counter near the cashiers. They serve large hot dogs, pizza, ice cream and have a pop fountain. Best of all it's quite cheap. There are quite a few great deals available in the electronics area just inside the front entrance. The warranty service here is also quite well worth the cost. Smart phones and televisions are especially inexpensive here. Don't forget to buy your movie tickets here as well.

Costco always has good products. They have lots of organic food and local options. This Costco, in Nanaimo, is very fast when it comes to processing long lines. I was worried when the lines were so long, but it did not take very much time to get through. The staff are friendly and helpful. We did not like the coffee we bought but lost the receipt. They refunded my purchase with no questions asked. This is the first time I have had to return anything so it's nice to know they are really good about that.

This is an excellent store! Parking lot tends to be pretty full even though there are a whole bunch of spaces, but you’ll find a spot eventually. The prices in the store are great and there are always lots of deals offered. It’s very easy to find what you are looking for as the layout of the store makes total sense and there are a lot of staff around willing and ready to help you out. Around the store there are various free sample stations, and the staff members manning them are friendly, professional, and attentive to hygiene and cleanliness. The food court has awesome deals, such as $1.50 for a jumbo hot dog, and only a few dollars for a bunch of fries (the hot dogs and fries are delicious!). Washrooms are kept very clean, and the whole store overall has the look of a store that is cared for very well by its staff. I highly recommend Costco!

As always, a great store with a great deal on foot long hotdogs! The only downside is the rather poor management of the front end cash's. It's not enough to have all the cash registers open if you can't get through the store because of the lineups. Front end logistics are the most important issue facing retailers today, other than in-stock, and no one does it worse than Costco!

I can appreciate if a particular Costco staff member didn't perform up to par on a certain day but isn't that more of a "one off" than a systematic issue with the corporation? I have been a member since 99 and its safe to say that I receive an incredible value from being a member both in cost savings, access to specialty inventory and a return policy that is like a free insurance policy on every purchase.

Costco is always a nice place to go for food, clothes etc. It usually gets pretty busy especially in the winter season! They have samples which are good to try something new, and alot of times you find something that you can add to your shopping list! If your thinking about getting a members card I would Definetly do it! Have fun

When I told them his age and that it was illegal to enforce an infant to wear a cover, they then blamed my child's physical appearance. Terrible customer service, ordered fridge deleivered, spent 2 hours switching doors to right side only to find baked in lump in mold that stopped door from closing properly. Phoned Costco to get new fridge delivered and old one picked up at same time they refused. I explained in email we needed delivery and pu to coincide so not to lose all our food, they refused to work with us, I literally begged and my plea was totally ignored... Not the same Costco of years past, bought new fridge at home Depot, better price service. .. then after a year decided to order a generator, was almost a month late, ne explanation, called Costco customer service and was put on hold for I swear 1.5 hours, asked to just keep the thing, refund money still waiting for money, 2 months after ordering.

This location has limited product selection compared to others being a smaller footprint and has poor traffic flow as many shoppers are oblivious of their surroundings both in the parking lot and in-store. Give yourself extra time, very rarely is it a quick shop.

You can always find interesting deals at Costco. A lot of the prices are really good but be careful of two things, firstly, if you get attached to a certain product here don't be surprised if it disappears because it is the nature of their business that this does happen. Also, it may be wise to make a list when going here or you may get a surprise at the cash. Mostly this is because they have a lot of appealing products at super prices and they have huge carts. Another note about this place, it is always busy and often very crowded, you may want to go really early or before closing to avoid the crowd.

Generally good prices and inventory, but very disappointed that their online store Is run as a separate business from their physical locations. They can sometimes have separate prices both in-store and online and they will not price match in either direction, nor do they ever price match against any other business. It’s Costco. What’s not to love. Some prices are heading up in direction and can be cheaper at a store and with a coupon so that’s a downside paying for membership. Don’t like how they don’t take visa even at the food court. Would like to fill my own pop as last time guy didn’t fill it up that full. Return counter inconsistent with staff. I’m anxious to return things now as they said it was to long for a shirt but I don’t live near a Costco and return when I can and there are no change rooms when I get clothes so it’s hard to know. On the groceries: If you possess a large freezer and/or a large family, Costco is for you. Be prepared to have an inventory of your groceries at home. Since the government tells us to stock up for 72 hours just in case, maybe that's no bad thing. If Costco stocks your favorite items, you can't lose, but if you like a variety to choose from, go elsewhere. On pharmacy, optical, hearing aids, electronics: the savings pay for the $60 membership rapidly, maybe instantly. If you want to be in with both feet, do the $120 level and get 2% back. Having that 2% incentive will take you back to the store regularly, I m guessing. On the membership process: always seems to take a while (I ve done it twice), so give yourself 30 minutes.

We had decided to get a couple hotdogs and you need cash for them so we asked for 20 dollars cash back. She said she'd do that for us and then when the total came up it seemed a little low so we asked if the 20 dollars was on there, and she replied very rudely ''Yes!''. So we paid and asked for the 20 dollars, which she then replied that she was sorry but she forgot to put it on, and there was nothing she could do to help us.

Unfortunately they have such bad policy of letting 1 member-customer buy all their stock at one go when items/merchandise go on sale. Other members strongly felt it is not fair. Not everyone can walk into Costco as general customer. One must buy it's annual membership in order to shop here. In this case all the members must be treated equal by giving sale opportunity to every member instead of letting one first-come member grab entire lot of sale item front of other members who were also interested to buy for them/family members. This is total unfair method of business practice when its memberships are sold and not give equal opportunity to every member. Their competitor The Real Canadian Superstore which sells no membership and allow general public to shop there has the ethical business practice of limiting 2 or 4 items per customer when they put out their items/merchandise on sale. We also noticed that Costco Avocados quality has been significantly going down since many months. In other hand Nuts & Mixed Nuts suddenly went up by $5 a bottle than later reduces by $1. We just noticed these but may be others might have noticed many. When Costco makes millions of dollars in profits hope they also equally takes care of their member-customers interest and well-being. In general Costco has best return & warranty policy. I care for Costco (good customer complain) so I wrote this review so that some one responsible in their management bring out better and fair policies.

Hey, it's Costco and it is what you expect it will be. If you have a membership, you can save a fair bit of money on many things because you're buying in large quantities, most of the time. Not always and not everything is really cheaper. But then the bulk aspect does have it's own merits, like not having to dash out to buy "bath tissue" all that often. Not so great if you live in a small space since you then need to store all that extra product. I've found a vast number of products sold there is going to cost about $10, give or take. Obviously, not gazebos or fireplaces but most food stuff, etc.. Their Kirkland house brand stuff is generally of very decent quality and quite comparable to national brands. Take, for example, paper towels. Compared to Bounty, their product is absolutely as good (and Consumers Report agrees) but saves you a nice wad of cash over the national brand. They have a pretty decent selection of items you won't find elsewhere and some SUPER good prices on a few items, i.e. coffee beans in large packs. Their meat department is quite excellent. This is another place that I'd recommend that if you want to avoid the crowds and lineups, go later at night. (Not applicable around Christmas - there's simply NO good time then, it's just going to be insane busy).

Since the store has changed locations, I rarely go there anymore. It is not in my typical travel routes and I don't tend to make special trips. Also, the new store is no more convenient. I have been there 3 times since its opening and have been met with ridiculous line ups at the cash as they were only about 1/2 manned. Parking is no better than at the last store, just a different shape. I also would have thought you would have had better access to the doors. Having to walk diagonally across intersections is dangerous - especially in Moncton where people can't seem to remember how to drive. Overall, I am disappointed with this store and will likely let my membership permanently expire if a Costco is not reopened in or near the previous location. Price per unit on most things is not a deal either, only certain things at certain times.

Not only am I paying 3 times the dispensing fees, but I have to go in 3 times instead of once. My wife forgot her Costco card so she went in with my card both cards are on the same account, they let her in, she got all her groceries, went and waited in the line up to pay and the cashier would not let her pay as it was not her card, when asked if the cashier could verify that her name was on the same account just she had forgotton her card she was just plain and simple refused service. We pay 120 per year to shop there it only takes a min to verify but she was refused. Apparently they make too much money to give customer service and apparently did not want the sale that day. The manager my wife spoke with said they should have verified the account but did not maybe some training on the common sense department would be good

Not surprisingly, you can literally find almost anything you could ever want in here. This place is huge! Staff are all very friendly. If there was ever an example of organized chaos, this Costco would be it. Lines to the cash can be long, but it goes surprisingly quick. I would say that if you are looking for some specific, it might be hard to locate. More signage would help a lot here.

Nanaimo Costco is my happy place and therapy shopping location. Staff is great there and I love the cheap hot dog as a cheap lunch Parking lot is great for the spacing in between cars also I buy a lot of stuff there and the exe membership totally pays for it’s self. The staff has taken a turn for the worse, even calling the store you get poor customer service. I was looking for a item and the person who answered and some what helped was rude and very blunt. So thought I'd call Saint John Costco and Fredericton to see about stock and the customer service was like night and day. I like Costco because its good price and good product quality. I am the one responsible for the grocery shopping at home so I usually go there every week. It was a good experience for shopping there because there are a lot of choices. However, today I suffered a bad costumer service. The cashier lady even was yelling at me. I understand that under COVID-19, there are more rules and people may have bad motion. But if you are not feeling happy today, go back home, yelling toward the wall rather than any customers. I absolutely don’t want to suffer this so I’m afraid I may not come back to this store again. I’d rather pay a higher price at other stores than getting bad attitude and had a bad day. Nervous about losing them (iMacs have been known to disappear them). Found a photo Dept flyer there, got online, sent these 497 photos for printing, and in ten days I had hard copies, all for, tax and delivery included, $51.43. amazing!!!!!! Seriously, save those photos.

I often go on the weekdays. Today I went (Sunday). Busy lot, no lines, great. I do find it amazing when people (who seem to be going with the flow) suddenly stop, abandoning any forward progress. I've tried to figure out the random stopping, but have given up. It would be great if they could play the Benny Hill theme song on a perpetual loop whenever they are busy. It would really up the entertainment in the aisles!

Great for saving money on some items like meat and coffee creamer. Would be far more expensive at other grocery stores. Only downside is quite a few shoppers seem to be in a bit of a bad mood there. The large grocery carts are good for the large bulk items but make maneuvering around more difficult. I think this is a factor in the irritability of some customers in the store. Best advice I could give is go when you are not in a hurry. :)

On 3 separate occasions, I bought the Ready-made Taco kit, and the cabbage seems to have gone bad. Really awful smell and had to throw it out. Please please please put fresh cabbage into the taco kits. I called and informed before, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Nanaimo Costco is a joke. Was there today to book an eye appointment as well as grab a couple items. When I got to the checkout I was told my executive membership which they told me I need and got me a whopping 6 dollar rebate check was expired. I Express I would renew on payday and could I just buy the toilet paper today they declined my money . I am so disappointed with the customer service it is ridiculous . I will never renew here again.

Was a great experience as we normally go to the one in Langford. There was really no line up as we were in the doors in like 5 mins only had to wait for them to clean a cart. After getting everything I needed I proceeded to the till and was directed to the checkout. There was no line up for this either. Definitely will be going north again as south is huge lineups at both door and tills.

Shopping in Costco is always fun. Never know what exciting new product you might find to add to your favorites list. Because you are buying in bulk, you can get exceptional deals on everyday food, cleaning and other household items. During the gardening season there is a nice variety of plants available at reasonable prices, plus other items you may need for your yard. Though the selection is somewhat limited , some other items available are seasonal decorations, clothing, shoes, books, magazines, lighting, flooring, televisions, computer's, pans, dishes, bed's, mattresses, bedding , couches, large appliances, sport accessories, tires, drugstore items, etc... The staff is great, you'll find them helpful & friendly. They tend to go out of their way to give the customer's excellent service. The gas station here often has the best fuel prices. Be prepared to wait in a line up. Costco is best described as a one stop shop.

The quality and pricing are top-notch, no question. Cheaper gas is a great bonus. My only complaint is there there are too many people crammed in there at a time. It makes it difficult to enjoy shopping when people take up the entire aisle chatting. Or when people are stationed in front of what you want to look at and aren't moving. I would love to take the time to enjoy the food court, but it's always packed and chaotic there. I would probably spend more there if I didn't feel so claustrophobic and wanting to get out of there asap.

The store is great,as well as the staff. I don't like the new policy of wanting to have a all purchases on one receipt, I liked that I could make purchases for other people and give them the receipt for their records. My son was purchasing item to take out of the country and needed a reciept for customs. I wanted his items on his own receipt so they wouldn't be looking for items he didn't have like clothing and ice cream sandwiches. The cashier was trying to subtotal then carry on with everything on the same receipt. I don't like this apparently new policy. Some customers I could do without. They provide those electric scooter shopping carts, which is great for customers who need that assistance. However some could use some lessons. This one lady kept backing up without looking first. I lost count how many people had to jump out of the way to avoid being crushed.

When I arrived at 6:05pm I was rudely informed that they were closed. When I mentioned that the information listed on their website said otherwise I was told in a dismissive and condescending manner; “that was probably Christmas hours”. I rechecked my information and it says the store hours were updated three weeks ago. Currently 8:30pm is listed as the closing time on Saturdays. I drove a total of 1.5 hours for absolutely no reason. A waste of my time and money.

Prices are pretty good. Like all other places, you have to pick and choose what are good deals. However, I find it difficult to move around the store, other customers are rude, self-serving and ignorant when it comes to customer flow, patience and lineups.

I usually love going to Costco and the people there are very friendly except for yesterday and today. I returned something and the guy helping me said something I didn’t hear. I put my credit card in the machine then he said I just told you not to do that for a second. I was shocked at his rudeness but didn’t say anything. Then today I had 4 new tires put on my car and drove home. When I got out I noticed they were really grubby and had bits of gummy white stuff on them. They looked like used tires so I drove back and told the guy at the counter. He said we don’t sell used tires and for me to wash them with hot water and soap or come back next week when they weren’t busy and just stared at me. Well you know what. I’m in my 70’s and a full time caregiver for my invalid daughter so I’m pretty damn busy too. Pretty bad customer service. Betty-Lou Hope

I was really upset after having gotten my tires changed at Costco. Upon arrival to pick up my car, my car keys were missing two key chains from it. I asked the guy what happened to them and he was puzzled but said they would most likely be in my car. I got to my car and they weren't there. I know that they're only keychains, but they had been attached to my keys for at least two years which tells me that there was an extreme lack of care as one of the staff members would've had to have violently ripped them off. Two keychains!! It was right before Christmas and I take care of my things:( It is a service and I didn't expect them to break my items that I left and trusted them with. I was truly upset for days after. It's only sparkly bits to them, but to me they were more than just sparkly bits!! One star for the car service, but since I like Costco items and deals this review gets 2 stars.

Everything good about products, staff and pricing. All of Nanaimo complains that the store is just far too busy and no gas bar. Build another store on the south end of town. Maybe then the checkout line ups and parking will be close to reasonable. All tills open today at 230 pm and 6 deep at each checkout. Parking spots were a joke.

Great location for a Costco, right by the highway, easy to make a quick stop (if you can say that with any Costco) before heading onto your road trip! Parking is a bit limited, so sometime you have to wait a bit before finding parking.

My experiences have never been bad. But, it is only just another store, with just more people(employees). The dynamics of the employees, while at work, is largely due to how management treats them. If there is an overall problem with rude/arrogant employees across the board here, blame management. If it is a select few employees, and then obviously everyone has random bad days too, then you may dodge bad personal experiences easily. Simply, approach every interaction with a smile on your face, and be kind right away from the start. If you need assistance, ask with appreciation. Simply, control your attitude to be kind, appreciative, and just happy the whole way through. You may control yourself, thus control the interaction for the most part, otherwise you are allowing yourself to be under the whims of emotion. It is a practice, but well worth it for how much better your life will get. You will get so good at it, to be able to start controlling situations very well, even to getting parking/seatbelt/speeding tickets of all kinds ripped up and simply getting warnings

As far as Costco goes, this is one of two options for mid-Vancouver Island. It's still a good place to get groceries, but is constantly more busy than the one in Courtenay. And unlike the one in Courtenay, it doesn't have gas for pumping.

When we would always purchase the Butterball brand, we purchased 2 of the Kirkland brand turkey breast roasts for Christmas from the Nanaimo-Costco in B.C. . We roasted one and were more than disappointed with the outcome. Guess the price should have dictated the outcome.....these were obviously from OLD turkeys; the meat was stringy and dry and unpalatable. So, something we look forward to for Christmas dinner, especially with the year we have had, was a big disappointment to say the least. We know what a good turkey breast should be like; moist/juicy and tender. Needless to say, we will not be buying the Kirkland brand again. We will be returning the second turkey breast for a refund. Sometimes we wonder if quality control for the Kirkland brand is slipping. There are other Kirkland products we have tried that were not as good as the name brands, even though they were supposedly manufactured for Costco by name brand companies. Guess too much of a good thing is never enough.

I visit this Costco weekly. We use grocery, optical and the Pharmacy. Every staff member has always been kind to us. They keep things clean, well stocked and the produce etc is always fresh. I recommend this location highly. The gas is also awesome and the price is great.

Excellent Covid protection protocol in place. The carts are all cleaned, they provide free masks at the door and have hand sanitizer through the store. There were tons of items on sale and were clearly marked with yellow tags as they no longer hand out the coupon sheet.

Do not rely upon the 'lifetime rotation' tire promise. They do not have adequate staff, so unless you are retired with all day to wait, you will likely never get a free rotation. Today (March 26, 2018) I called the Nanaimo Costco Tire Centre and was told it would be a two hour wait if I was standing right in front of the guy. On Saturday (March 24, 2018) I lined up twice at the Courtenay Tire Centre to get a rotation, only to be told it would be about 1:15 minute wait. It would probably be true to say I have tried about 20 times to have the tires be rotated and each time be told the wait is between an hour and four hours. I work. I can't wait that long. I have driven the car over 30,000 kilometers while waiting. I have been trying to get a rotation since 2016. Costco should not be allowed to advertize 'lifetime rotation'. They should be honest and advertize "Lifetime roation included if you are willing to wait up to four hours for the service". They are not honourable in their contract.

I have a love affair with this store.... but only on weeknights after 6pm. Did you know the return policy is 'if you bought it on your Costco card, you can return it at any store'. That's pretty much the whole policy!.... No time limitations!!!!!.... (except for electronics and diamonds).
