Visited this location awhile ago when my regular go to was closed. I can appreciate that it is a family run business, and for the most part has everything I am looking for. Only real issue is that it is quite more expensive that the other Portuguese bakery in the area. As to why that is.. I am not sure. If the products were much better than it can be justified but most of there products seems a little less than the standard. Especially finding bones in there fish pastries... Anyhow, I'll be giving them another chance as there bread product were quite good but that would be the only products I would consider buying.

A shockingly good apple fritters, and shockingly bad other food. The croissants are better at Metro, sadly. Custard tarts are decent. My biggest complaint is the utter chaos. There isn't enough space for customers to socially distance!

im reading the reviews on here after visiting this bakery and i cant beleive how many on here say the custard tarts are so good? if you think the portuguese custards are good here then u have never had a real authentic custard before. what a joke! overcharge for custards that arent even filled go to any real portuguese bakery downtown and see what a real custurd tastes and looks like. Decent bakery and grocery store offering a host of classic Portuguese breads and pastries as well as imported goods. I highly recommend their home made Portuguese sausage, whether you choose thesweet or the spicy, these are excellently smoked and fresh. They also have a large collection of cheese and of course fresh baked bread and pastries. If you're feeling hungry they serve up espresso based drinks and a variety of sandwiches at a small seating area inside as well, so you can caffenate before you shop.

Pathetic, Rude, disheartening, disappointing. I dont know which word would share what I experienced. I prepaid every single penny for my baby’s first birthday cake. I called them if cake was ready and i got an answer all cakes are ready and phone gets disconnected. Nobody has the courtesy to tell you the closing time. When i reached bakery was closed. Next morning when i called the lady was extremely rude on the call and didn’t accept her mistake instead started lying that she told me about the closing timings. Instead of apologizing that they ruined by baby’s first birthday they were rude and arrogant. First time i was buying the cake I have never visited their bakery how am I suppose to know their 20 years long closing time. Even a prepaid cake buyer can’t expect courtesy so i dont know how they will treat the walk-in customers. Extremely selfish and arrogant people

This is my favorite local place for early morning bread! Made fresh on site and they have a huge selection of treats and meats. There's even a mini seating area both inside and out. My favorite combination for the work/camping/hockey boys is to grab a bunch of buns and then pick out a bunch of patty type meats. They have tuna, cod, shrimp, chicken and meat. Open the soft bun, throw one or two of these mini patties and your good to go! Sometimes the staff can be a bit grumpy but maybe they've been up since 3am making this stuff.

Coming here for years for their custard tarts which we love. Tried their cannoli once: crispy exterior and nice flavour to the ricotta filling although too sweet for me. Great fresh bead daily, with lots of selection. Staff are efficient and do their jobs well. Weekends are super busy but usually wait times are minimal. Neighborhood gem!

If you live in Missisauga and love Portuguese you need to go here. I would recomend their breads and corn bread which Portuguese call “Broa”. If you want food for a meal go with Rissois de Camarão (stuffed shrimp cakes), also the have pastéis de bacalhau(codfish) as well as Pastéis de Carne

This use to be one of my favorite places to buy bread but over the last little while they have been over baking thier bread. Not sure if the Baker has been changed or they no longer care or the equipment is getting bad but I wish they would address this. Next time you go take a look at the breads and see the bread is over baked and the crust is burnt and they just throw a lot more flour and cover it up. Why Nova Bakery why?

Most of their breads, as well as their pizza dough and custard tarts are amazing. But they are inconsistent. Bread is sometimes burned on the bottom (not often, but it has happened more than I think it should considering how long they've been doing this) and their pies are a massive disappointment. Crust is good, but then they just pour in some cheap, canned filling, ruins it. I highly recommend you go, I just say start to learn what's good and what should be left out of your basket.

It's an excellent place if you're looking to buy some freshly made bread or some tasty treats! I've been a customer for close to 25 years and I always find the place busy. In the summer they've got tables set up outside, so you can enjoy your sandwich or pastry or a cup of fresh espresso. And they've also have tables inside the store, so you can enjoy your treat if the weather is not cooperating. They also carry a variety of European foods and beverages.

For many years, my family has been coming here for bread and buns because when it's fresh it's so soft almost like it melts in ur mouth. If you come here in the afternoon than you may have to wait a few moments because there isn't as much staff in the afternoon as there is in the morning.

My family has been coming here for years, and after shopping a little for our wedding cake, we found that the price and quality were unbeatable. Nova makes cakes all the time for different occasions like christening, First Communion, birthdays, and of course, weddings. Their experience shows: They literally have binders with tables and charts detailing the variety of styles and sizes, and even suggested size depending on how many guests. The cake baker, Dan, was really easy to work with. He had a lot of practical suggestions. The cake he produced was a work of art! He was also able to incorporate a ribbon with one of our wedding colours, and our own custom topper. And not only was the cake beautiful, it was also delicious; it was a chocolate sponge cake with hazelnut and baccio filling. We had a lot of positive feedback from our guests! We paid extra to have it delivered to our venue, and we’re glad we did. It made things run very smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. My bride was so impressed with Nova that she ordered additional cakes for her bridal shower and her nephew’s birthday party.

Terrible customer service, Horrible tasting cakes and a cringeworthy experience all around. I asked for a vanilla flavoured cake. They gave me lemon. I asked them what they could do for me and they said it's how they make your cakes. The pastry chef called me a liar, their manager Maria told me I should've clarified the flavour of cake, the owners refuse to talk to me. This was a two tier custom designed cake. They offered me nothing for their clear mistake. Very disappointed, if zero stars were an option I would give it that.

I've been going to Nova Bakery for a very long time and have always been happy. But lately I've noticed that the bread is being baked way over done and the crust has a darker brown colour and is very dry on the inside. Come on Nova either talk to the Baker or fix what ever is causing this. I've talked to quite a few people and the are saying the same thing. I keep returning hoping they fix this but w9nt be much longer if this keeps up. Would give it a zero right now but don't have that option

I do here at least 2-3 Sundays a month and find both their bread and pastries among the best in the portuguese community. They have fantastic breads and the staff is friendly and attentive. Maybe from some of the reviews I have read people are going close to close picking up the left overs or just the kind of people that like to rag on others. I know It is not the original owners there now but the place is always teaming with people so that must mean something. Keep it up!

Several times I have asked on Uber eats for them to pack in different box and they always come through! Once this whole covid is over I will go with my kids and have lunch or breakfast. I like to compare there pastry selections to that of going to a jewellery store and everything is shining and beautiful....that's how I feel they showcase there goods, it's just amazing to look at. Amazing! We made a stop here for some snacks and were overwhelmed by the selection. Of course there were tonnes of delicious pasteries but they also had selection of made to order sandwiches and coffee, so I can only imagine how busy this place is at lunch time. The store had lots of grocery items including fresh breads, sausages and a wide variety of canned and frozen Portuguese food. I wish we lived closer because we would definitely be regulars.

We've been there 2 times and both times the same thing happened. We ordered 2 "tosta mista " sandwiches (traditional Portuguese ham and cheese pressed panini sandwiches) and both times there was WAY too much ham piled in the middle of the bun and the cheese wasn't even melted, not how it's supposed to be. The ham should be evenly layered throughout the bun and the sandwich should be toasted enough that the cheese is completely melted and the ham should be hot!

This place is amazing but the boss is abuses the young girls that work for her. She made a death threat to a 19 year old girl. And throws out belongings that belong to her employees and make jokes about not paying them at the end of the day. All these 5 star reviews are true but don’t be fooled by the owner. She makes her eployees feel terrible calling them names making death threats and so much more. And keep in mind most of these girls are only in high school, so young being verbally abused.

The service is quite nice. Pricing is very reasonable, and the selection is very good. I would highly recommend. Just a few things to be aware of: the quality of the baked goods are pretty good (but not astounding). And approach the cash register with a healthy sense of humor. There is always some type of mishap. Sometimes you are charged extra, and sometimes too little. But everyone is really nice and it all ends up right in the end. I haven't tried the fresh bread but it must be amazing b/c the lineups are quite long. Recommended.

If there was an option to give ZERO stars I would. My fiancé and I had scheduled a cake testing today, but we were running behind due to an accident on the 401. I was coming from the other end of the city, and had to cancel a few appointments to be there today. I called the store to let them know I am a running a bit late. The girl on the phone said it wasn't a problem. Within 5 mins, we get a call from the same girl saying that they don't have any cakes for us to try. The baker didn't prepare anything for us during the day and they did not have the decency to call and tell us this. A simple phone call to reschedule would of sufficed! I would not recommend this bakery to anyone, as they proved to be unreliable!

Recently ordered a Frozen theme birthday cake and the cake was very delicious! However, I was disappointed with the writing on the cake it was hard to read and kind of smudged. Hope this can be improved because cake was definitely delicious but the bad writing made it not look so great. Also the design is also not that great also smudged and rough. Thanks Nova Bakery for ruining my niece’s 2nd birthday cake. We preordered a birthday cake and came to pick up her cake this am after waiting about 20 min they brought us a ruined cake. It looked like It was put together with scarps of cake from days before , the icing on cake was cracked , instead of writing a very simple Happy Birthday the idiot cake decorator had Hammy Birthday. It was not decorated as we had instructed. The manager at your store didn’t care and simply said “ sorry guys “ with no empathy for the fact that they ruined the cake. She did offer us a whole $15 discount. We will never be using this bakery again. Worst customer service ever. They could care less that they ruined a cake for a 2 year old birthday party.

Really disappointing since the new owners took over. Growing up and having all the amazing foods over the years and now having a family of my over, I was excited to keep the tradition going.....I gave it time but each occasion I went things got worse. Now the tuna cakes had chunks of tuna in it( not even mixed properly) the and orange and bean pastries were so watery, Fias D’oves flavourless and dry...just disappointing all around. Guess I’ll have to start looking for a new bakery. But hey, the breads still good even though they even messed up that order too!

No one can give less than 5 stars to this place. There is parking at the front on the plaza. The prices are reasonable. It's super clean. They have groceries, fish, meat, pasta at the back. The cakes are to die for and the service is excellent. Please allow me to share my most recent experience. I needed a vanilla cake for my son's graduation. Ubereat flagged the item as sold out. I called the bakery. Not only did one the girls go the extra mile to check whether they still had one left but when I came to pick it up hours later, they remembered my call and another girl went to look for the actual cake. This is just an example of how they treat their customers. It's my go to bakery. Well deserved 5 stars.

Sometimes you have good experience with customer service but other times you come across rude staff. One time I found hair in the croissant which was disgusting.

When called they said they do have cream cakes but when went to get a ready cake, they said they only have cheese cakes and the cream cake is on order. They only had 2 chocolate options for cream cake ready there which is not fair as somebody like me who doesn’t like chocolate cake don’t get any other option to buy. They should have said this over the phone. Very disappointing. Plus the flavours of cake was not amazing, if u eat with closed eyes, you won’t recognise what flavour cake you are actually eating. Tasteless and don’t recommend.

My family has been coming here since the beginning of time. I’ve never had an issue of their bread not being fresh; I always get there in the mornings so everything is fresh including their pastries. I don’t know too much about their cakes but my parents ordered a tiramisu cake for my birthday and it didn’t really taste anything like tiramisu. Other than that it’s a great bakery to go to and has been here forever.

$6 tax included for an overly toasted breakfast sandwich that's dry and tastes like cardboard. I knew it was going to be bad when they threw the bacon in the microwave and reheated the scrambled egg, if I wanted pre-cooked bacon and egg sandwich I could've went to McDonald's and got it even cheapier and more tasty. The lady didn't even bother to ask if I wanted any condiments on it, they don't even add any condiments themselves, just hand you a dry sandwich. Terrible.

What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I ordered a custard-strawberry cake for my birthday, picked it up today. We just cut into it and my first reaction was “that’s NOT custard”. Taking a bite it was whipped cream and the actual cake? STALE and flavourless. I’m so sad. This really made me sad for my birthday. Will not order from here again. Very unfortunate as this used to be a good bakery.

I just happened to be in the area and decided to walk into this Bakery. It's a nice location with a lot of freshly baked food. I tried the Portugese Custard Tart as well as a fried roll with Shrimp and custard. Both were super delicious and I'll definitely go back to try more sweets.

Good coffee and pastries.. this place used to have the best fresh tasty bread at a reasonable price.. but prices keep going up and the quality over the years has unfortunately dropped. I once had to ask for the sliced bread near the end of the day because they took them all to save for the morning.. why can you not just make fresh sliced bread in the morning?? I still go here as it's better than preservative filled grocery store brands.. but unfortunately their breads are nowhere near as good as they were years ago.

I would give a 0 but that is not possible on this. Terrible customer service, you have to be careful because what you order is never what you get. And they will not admit they are in the wrong, no kind of apologies or compensation for a bad customer experience. Quite surprised that they are not out of business with how badly they treat customers. They add horrible favors you never requested for. And when you complain they say, "did you ask us?" That is terrible terrible terrible

Three Words: Pastéis de Nata! This place has the best Pastéis de Nata in the GTA and their taste reminded me of the ones from Manteigaria in Lisboa (Lisbon).

This place is literally so bad, they treat their workers so horribly and serve crusty dusty bread that's been dropped around and is dry. Their stuff is never fresh and is always kinda frozen. It was my last straw when I found a ROACH on my bread and one of the managers tried to pass it off as a whole grain seed........ WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Bread and buns never really fresh. People go to bakeries for fresh pastries, they should ensure that everything is fresh, otherwise what's the point?
