I ordered a cake for an office celebration, it was wonderful!

A few items can be hit and miss sometimes, but stick to the butter tarts and you'll be wowed. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"

Priscilla Mancini

Their butter tarts are absolutely delicious. I would give a 5 start but, the fact they're not open on a Sunday, I'm lowering it to 3. A bit absurd that they're not opened on a weekend, especially in Streetsville. A cute village in a town should have specialty places like these open on weekends.

Jenifer Chen

Pretty good butter tarts here, the raspberry Nutella is my fave so far. They aren't too sweet but when I heated them up in the oven, they left a sticky caramel finish on my teeth. Would come back to try the other sweets though.

Rhea S

Ohhhh my goodness your butter tarts are delicious! Some of the best I've ever had and so innovative with the flavor choices. Love, live it Thank you to my sister friend Deidre-Ann for introducing me to these. Will certainly be making your spot a mandatory stop when in Mississauga!

V T

It’s true...their BUTTER TARTS are the best.

H. sapien

Went there for the first time earlier this week and got some chocolate chip cookies. They were some of the best ive ever had.

JayT Warsh

What an amazing place. I placed a delivery order on the phone, the girl was so helpful and nice. Highly recommend ????????. Thank you - JayT

Great food here! The pecan tart things are incredible!! I only had them once and I still think about them a couple months later. I’ve also had the sandwich which is also really good. Impressed :)

Vaughan Waison

Love all their baked goods. Kate the owner is a gem and keeps everyone happy with her delicious cookies and tarts. Must try.

Sandra Gauci

Great place for delicious cookies and tarts. They also serve lunch.

Melissa Y

Great spot for lunch. Their bread is always so fresh and delicious

Shannon Goode

Great service and delicious food. The buttertarts are the best! Great stop for lunch or to grab dessert. I've ordered trays of scones and cookies for parties, they are a great value and everyone loves the food.

Scott

Great lunch combos - fresh sandwiches and great desserts! Definitely recommend!

Rasheeda Ali

Giant Levain style cookies might be what’s trending right now, but seriously, if you want the best classic chocolate chip cookie you’ve ever had, hit up this spot. I tried it recently, and made the mistake of eating one in the car. And then another. And another. Until they were gone! They’re buttery, crispy on the outside and so chewy on the inside. Definitely my new favourite bakery!

Pauline Jull

Nice place to have lunch. The baked goods are excellent. Great scones.

Harri Persaud

We got there around noon, most cookies sold out.

Mandy Leung

Fabulous butter tarts, perfect flaky crust and gooey filling and delicious pecan bars are my favorite. Also tried the skor cookie and butter tart shortbreads, they were good, not not worth the calories like the butter tarts. Worth the drive but finding a place to park can be challenging.

Superbossa Nova

Best butter tarts anywhere. I have traveled to MANY places that are famous for their butter tarts. This place beats all the others. The treats are chewy and delicious and the crust is buttery and light.

I hosted a baby shower at Kate's. The food (quiche, spinach salad, and scones) was picture perfect and delicious! Kate's desserts are amazing - the butter tarts are a must! It's obvious that this bakery genuinely cares and takes pride in what they do. Kate, thank you so much for making the day so special.

Gary Fernandes

We enjoy the freshly baked whole wheat bread and meat pies.

I visited Kate's Town Talk Bakery on Saturday. I had a delicious sandwich. I believe the bread is made in-house, and it was one of the nicest multigrain breads I've ever had. I had a Havarti sandwich with a nice pile of lettuce and cucumber and just the right amount of mustard. I didn't try any of the baked goods, but they looked fantastic. The sandwich and my drink were reasonably priced, so good value overall. There's room to sit and enjoy your purchase in store, but they were closing, so I enjoyed my lunch on a bench on Main Street, across from the bakery. There's been a bakery on this corner for as long as I can remember. I moved away from Streetsville almost 20 years ago, and it's great to see that Town Talk lives on!

Liz Hodge

Five + stars... You had my favourite cookies. The flourless, sweet and condensed milk, coconut, chocolate chip delicacies. Chelsea knew exactly what I was after when I walked through the door !!!

Deanne Milley

Incredible. The sausage rolls and butter tarts were to die for! Can't wait to try more of Kate's lovely treats.

Aisha Farooq

We had got a cake today for a baby shower and it was the most equisite looking cake and tasted so great. The sweetness was as perfect as its look. Tried the freshly baked cookies and they were melting in my mouth... superb.

Jennifer Dao-Nguyen

I come here often as I live in the area. Everything is always so good. Savoury pies are my favourite, but don’t forget to grab dessert as well- you won’t regret it. Thanks ladies for your hard work and dedication.

Peter Guerrero

There is a reason why this place has no 1 star. Amazing pastries and meat pies. The owner is very kind and her workers are pleasant. Love coming here for a quick bite.

Sean McInally

Ice coffee is incredible. Everything is delicious.

Magid Girgis

I’ve eaten hundreds of butter tarts. Kates tarts are fantastic! Great crust with the right amount of salt. The filling is ooey gooey goodness. A definite stop for future tart purchases.

Bernice Cheng

I love the butter tarts here - they are amazing - best butter tarts I've ever had.

Shamandar Kardashiyaz

Definitely the BEST bakery cuisine that me & my wife have ever had in a long time! We thoroughly enjoyed your fine establishment's delicious products recently. Everything was very tasty, such as the amazing Butter Tarts, delicious cake slices, tasty banana bread, yummy meat pies, and much more. Professional presentation in a lovely personalized bag. We recently spoke to the awesome owners, Katie & Chelsea, over the phone. Very kind, courteous, and professional ladies. Excellent customer service. The ladies personally & promptly make the deliveries. We highly recommend Kate's Town Talk Bakery to everyone out there. Looking forward to savouring your fine establishment's sumptuous cuisine on an ongoing basis. Have a splendid weekend!

Love the meat pies from Kate’s! The pastry is very good. Date Squares taste like my grandmother made them. Empire Cookies, butter tarts, scones all very good but the best are Kate’s Hot Cross Buns! Limited time only and they are outstanding. Order order order!!

Kate's is really the talk if the town. I came in to try some of their goods and was met with friendly staff. The air smelled of freashly baked goods. Sometimes there's a burning smell but not here. Oh no. Baked to deliciousness. Their cookies were very tasty and they have a good variety. Their tarts we're super tasty and gooey. Will come back!

Grant Mansell

With me frequenting the area I have experienced the lovely smells that come from Kate's. The other day I ventured in,,, whow I realy wish I could have bought one of everything they had for sale but I selected a choice few, one of which ill call a lemon Square. Today I tried part of it and it was nothing short of AMAZING. I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing at once. Gota tell ya, if this whT you get from a private company, I'm in the whole way. The square surpasses any I have ever tasted. Coutos to the owners and chef. Simply FANASTIC.

Megan Pugliese

The last remaining coffee shop in Streetsville. The staff are friendly, the bakes are divine. Kate’s makes you feel like how Streetsville use to be. Perfection.

Just moved into the neighborhood recently and I've been checking out the various establishments. Kate's Bakery is one such gem in the area. Would love more options for coffee and tea, but the specialty here is definitely butter tarts, and cakes which come in a variety of different styles and flavors. The only issue I found I had with the pastries was that the Tarts had a bit too much crust and the feeling was a bit too hard but the flavor was very good and the quality of ingredients was excellent. I would recommend checking out this location if you're passing by.

Justin Colson

I had a raspberry cheesecake brownie with my coffee and it was almost too delicious. Would highly recommend.

tea

the apple cinnamon scone is unreal and don’t even get me started on the unbelievably lovely staff. Always a treat stopping by Kates!!!

A solid 3.5 with a special shout out to the butter tart that is a 4 star ... definitely above your average bakery. Cute homey bakery that fills all your grandma style baking craving. Kate's Town Talk Bakery is run by some very sweet ladies and they're quite welcoming. It's a homey feel in the bakery with various tables available to sit down to enjoy a light meal or eat several of their homey sweets. When we arrived, they weren't quite ready for lunch as they had a large order... it was a nice touch to see they make everything fresh and from scratch. For lunch, they normally have Chicken pie, beef pie, spinach cheese pie, sausage roll, soup, and sandwiches made with their in house made bread. In addition to the light lunch items, they have a large assortment of in house made cookies and a few pies and bars. In general, there's probably something for your taste buds! We ordered a chicken pie, peanut butter cookie, pecan cinnamon macaroon, cherry butter tart, plain butter tart, and a rhubarb raspberry pie. Chicken Pie - Homey little pie that satisfies that craving for that home made experience of a creamy interior with a few good vegetables. I hate to compare it to the perfect 5 star Pie Commission because Kate Town Talk version is like nostalgia. It has it's moments when it brings back that fond youthful memories. I did noticed that the pie crust isn't so flavourful so I'm thinking it might be a shortening crust. 3.5/5 Pecan Cinnamon Macroon - Good little crisp cookie. The cookie was really hollow so it makes me think the egg white was beat very very stiff. There was a good amount of shredded coconut in it but I'm not sure if I tasted much of the pecan in it. 3/5 Peanut Butter Cookie - I adore the look of this cookie... it reminds me of what my neighbour's grandma made. Cute indention with the back of the forks and hand formed. This had peanut flavour but the sugar amount was very very high. Possibly too sweet for me. 3/5 Rhubarb Raspberry Pie - The pie interior was a nice tart kick from the raspberries. The bold colour was a nice red foil to the cute maple leaf cut out on top of the pie for Canada's day. I wanted to really like this pie but the crust was a bit of a let down. It was pretty soft and mushy and didn't have much of a flavour. Not sure if this was underbaked or just sitting for a while. 3/5 Cherry Butter Tart - The tart was amusing as it had the traditional explosion of the gooey inside and caramelized over the pastry edges. This crust was definitely more flakier than the pies but it didnt' have a strong flavour so I think they used a shortening to get that flakiness. It still was well made and the sweetness was balanced. It wasn't insanely sweet... it is a butter tart so it's sweet but it wont put you in a sugar coma. I just can't give it a 4 cause I barely tasted any cherry flavour 3.5/5 Butter Tart - Oh yes.. this is the item you come here for. I get the love ... I taste the love for this bakery right here. Gooey, sweet butterscotch interior that lingers and coated up the pastry sides to create a nice caramel edge. The pastry is a pleasant flakey bite ... I would have preferred a butter crust but the gooey interior is a winner. This is quite nice. Solid 4/5 Overall, I'm sure they have more winners here than just the Butter Tart... lots of options for everyone to try and the lovely service puts it best in Streetsville.

This is a small hidden gem in the heart of Streetsville, Mississauga. The tarts are amazing, some of the best we've ever had. Highly recommend.

Trish Kerr

Excellent bakery. Butter tarts are fantastic but so are the other offerings. Lovely staff and cozy space. Highly recommend

This bakery is amazing. I ordered some treats for a family member that was going to get surgery. Kate made the delivery look very special, and the family member raved about how wonderful it was and felt better. I'm so appreciate of this that I drove all the way from Scarborough to buy a whole lot of pastries to see for myself (curbside contactless pickup...did not get out of my car). Let's just say they were incredible and will be frequenting this establishment more often.

Julia

The most delicious sausage rolls and date squares. Loved them both! Mmmmmm

Lee Bishop

Love this bakery! They are celebrating 10 years this year and for me their products have never suffered over the years. The buttertarts taste wonderful whether plain, pecan or raisin. Their cookies and squares also all made in store and are truly delightful. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is also a great place to share a tea with friends with real teapots!!

Daanish Sharif

They tasted amazing last we had then + great service. However just found out the tarts use lard, so unfortunately we can't buy them anymore ???? I really wish they had a non lard based option as their tarts the simply amazing!!

Natalie L

The butter tarts are amazing! I just wish they had better hours - I barely ever have a chance to come in. They are closed Sunday's and only open 9-5 during the week. For someone who works 9-5 there's really no time to stop in.

Paul Mantovani Musson

Kate makes all her sandwiches with the best freshly-baked bread. Her meat pies are also delicious as are her butter tarts and pretty much everything else she makes. Service is always very friendly. A great small-town bakery doing things the old fashioned way and doing them extremely well.

Alex Rogerson

Always a delicious treat. Kate and the wonderful ladies are always a delight and the food and treats are just fantastic. The butter tarts are a family hit. Can't wait to try the peanut butter ones tonight (if they make it home!!)

Pea dear o Cearnaigh

Picked this place for my wife and friend to meet. Very happy with my suggestion. Wonderful bakery and tortiere and sausage rolls. Most enjoyable, I also got to taste one at home.

Shan

Great butter tarts and cookies!

Jacqueline Moore

Great little bakery and place to grab lunch or a cuppa. Reminds me of the little tea shops back home in Ireland. Great service. Everything is made right there. You feel like your sitting at home. The ladies and owner kate are fantastic and very welcoming. If your ever in streetville drop in, you won't regret, just love this place.

Jessi George

Kate’s is the best! I frequent often! You can’t go wrong with anything! The butter tarts are the best I’ve ever had. The cookies are all amazing and the sandwiches are delicious.

Kitchen Geisha2

While their food is good, I will not be returning to their bakery or buying anything from them again. The last time I was there, before the pandemic, I bought a take out order for my daughter with a cold and stayed for lunch with my other child. The order was delivered to our table while we ate, in a tied bag. I ordered a sandwich and a lemon bar, I was assured it was all in there. When I returned home, my daughter didn't feel like eating so I left it with her. Two hours later, she said she couldn't find the lemon bar. Sure enough it wasn't in the bag and there was no wrapper (she wouldn't have claimed it wasn't in there and eaten it secretly, it's just not worth it). So I went back to the store and said that the bar hadn't been in the bag, could I please get the lemon bar. I expected a throwaway apology and a lemon bar. Instead you would have thought I had asked for 6 dozen cookies and a pie for free. The two women behind the counter side eyed each other, one saying a hesitant "Okay?" while she reluctantly reached for a lemon bar, acting as if she thought I was lying. Honestly, it's a lemon bar, it's not a $1,000 item. Since they write everything down on those tiny slips of paper, I'm not surprised it got missed. No apology, and even THAT would have been okay if they didn't behave like I was stealing from them. So, no, I won't be going back.

Anna Paveling

Always plenty of goodies available. The best buttertarts in town! And they also have rewards points which is really nice for a small in dependant bakery.

Cynthia Head

Kate's makes a really nice multi grain bread -I buy it every week now! We also love the cookies, especially the ginger cookies. They are soft and lovely!

Bookish Natie

Always tasty super clean never had a food reaction from Kate super pleased ???? we bought multigrain bread a few days ago here and we might become regulars so good.

Mi Be

Place is usually closed. I think it’s Kate’s hobby rather than a real bakery. Regardless, tried the Tart and it was good.

Serenity Morningstar

I came here to try the butter tarts. The crust was good but so much filling had boiled out they were only half full. The filling was not a traditional soft runny butter tart filling. It was very sticky and chewy....more like a caramel toffee filling. It tasted good but I would not call it a butter tart.

Matthew Root

Great egg salad sandwiches, butter tarts and carrot cake. All the cookies and cakes are good. Nice place for lunch

Norman Morra

Very fast service. Sandwiches are made to order with full value and satisfying portions. Various tarts, squares, scones, soups, meat/chicken pies, sausage rolls. Limited seating but we usually get a spot, comfortable and clean.

Sana Rahman

I got my gender reveal cake made and it was AMAZING!!! Loved the moistness of the cake and the flavor was just perfect!!! The icing was delicious too... everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cake and almost everyone asked me where I got it made from!! Thanks a lot for the yumminess!

MrChocheech

The only place I can find in brampton/mississauga that has homemade cookies. This place is phenomenal, tons of selection. My mom cancelled baking at Christmas time this year in lieu of their treats. We didn't complain.

Alyssa

Such a cute little bakery with some homemade goods. Will definitely be back!

Nancy Groulx

Kate's catered a party for us. We ordered a couple of sandwich platters (there bakery bread) and fruit and vegetable platters and had ordered a cake and dessert plate. Out guests were so impressed! I had nothing left!!! People picked at the plates etc... all night. I normally throw out food but I had nothing left!! Very happy with the quality and the service. Would highly recommend them!????

sangita sindhwani

Amazing cookies, pies, quiches tarts, sandwich and soup, great atmosphere and my fave place for lunch w friends. 4 stars only because no cappuccino machine!

chelsea wang

Love Kate’s! Fantastic service, staff, and food!! Could not rave more - sending all my friends here.

M Lien

Ordered their Mother's Day treat box and everything was so good - especially their scones! Lovely lady at the counter provided great service - friendly and patient (as I took some time picking out a few other goodies). I will definitely be returning and will recommend to friends and family.

Christine Grusys

Great little bakery with a large assortment of baking goods. Cookies are delicious. Staff are friendly.

Johanna B

Super good sandwiches and treats. Lots of selection (but make sure you go early in the day to get to it all, it goes fast).

Samantha Dancey

Tarts and Cheesecake were incredible! Friendly staff too. We'll likely go back tomorrow for more because I ate it all before we even got home.
