REVIEWS OF Carlo’s Bakery Canada IN Mississauga

Prices are very high Chocolate rainbow cake wasn't very good, there are such better cake places around. We also had some cupcakes and cheesecake and they aren't worth it.

Gabrielle Reyes

I’ve been a fan of Buddy and Carlo’s Bakery since I was younger, so it was so exciting to see that they finally opened a bakery here in Canada! I visited with my parents and we bought the lobster tails, cannoli and a slice of red velvet cake and boy were they delicious! Excited to go back soon! ☺️

HOBOKEN STYLE? TRY FACTORY STYLE. I am a hardcore loyalist having been to the original Hoboken location over 10 years ago and getting my annual birthday cake from there. Like all the reviews mention, fantastic exterior but the actual goods are a TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. This isn't a bakery where you can get fresh-baked goods, rather a highly commercialized place with pre-packaged cake slices in plastic, pre-boxed cookies, and things Buddy isn't even known for like American-style donuts and croissants!? There was a sprinkle cake in the display case that had full on green mold on the side. All in all, this felt like a stop-in-shop, 7-Eleven type place which I am so sad to say because I have been a fan of this bakery for years. In effort to scale the business, the homestyle quality and charm has tanked. Do not wait in line for this, go support a local Italian bakery instead.

Melvin John Osian

The taste was perfectly executed. It's just right. I love their delicacies the cupcakes, cannoli, and especially their cakes. Love to come back and try their pizza and gelato ice cream...

We have been fans of the show from years back and visited the NYC store probably 4-5 years ago. I love the buddy and the great Italian story. We visited the Port Credit, Mississauga location on Jan. 8th, 2022. We arrived to a line up outside. We opted to wait in line for about 40 minutes to get in. The esthetics of the bakery were very fancy and everyone was excited to be there. In addition to cakes, the bakery had Italian ice cream, a gift shop area and hot foods like pizza and sandwiches. We purchased a whole cake which was $50 (cake slices were $10 each), two black and white cookies @ $4.99 each, a sandwich @ $10.00 and pizza slices at $4.99 each. I had wanted to buy a small box of rainbow cookies that Buddy is known for. I grabbed a pre-package small box but later returned the item as it was priced at $29.99. The cake was good, the cookies were more like cake, the pizza was good and the sandwich was ok. In general, we found the prices high for the quality of the products. This was a good novelty experience but this isn't your local bakery. Your local bakery will provide greater value and quality.

I think that this addition to Port Credit is in poor taste, especially when there are other businesses in the area that are trying to survive in the middle of a pandemic. It's obvious with the bad reviews that this isn't something that the neighbourhood of Port Credit needed. Corporate marketing and poor quality, overpriced pastries can find themselves elsewhere.

Livio LDC

Purchased two different cakes for Christmas and they were both outstanding! Delivered on time and so worth the wait. Will buy again!

Sharon DeVellis

I've had the vending machine cakes previously (red velvet is amazing!) so had to try the cannolis which did not disappoint! The shell was thick and crunchy and the filling was incredible. Will definitely be back for more.

Matthew Cruz

Truly you need to mortgage you house to eat here. 40$ for 4 desserts is crazy. Go to Fortinos and buy some larocca cake. Much better and much cheaper.

Amna Masoud

As a long time fan of the Cake Boss and someone that has gone to the original shop in Hoboken I have to say I was rather pleased by the experience at this newly open shop in Canada. Their cannolis and eclairs are delicious and hold to their authentic taste. I haven't tried other much other than the picture attached or savory items yet and I see the reviews are okay. My suggestion is to try the items a place specializes in and for Carlos I think its their pastries and cakes. Thank you Carlo's Bake Shop for opening in Canada, you guys brought back a lot of nostalgia from the time I lived in New Jersey.

honestly its..... not great. i wont even mention the prices because theyre a given anyways, but i didnt expect the food to be as mediocre as it was. the interior is very pretty and so are the sweets. but i guess going here you sacrifice taste for appearance.. nothing had any flavor, the icing on the cake i bought was greasy and the actual layers of cake tasted like white bread. the cannolis were grainy and flavourless. we paid for cupcakes as well but didnt recieve them.. the only thing i liked was the pizza, which is okay if you take off all the pieces of horrendously burnt pepperoni. disappointing is the only word i can use to describe this place. ...still a fan of buddy though.

Toronto Princess

Spectacular treats, delicious drinks, juicy sandwiches and the number one staff in town. We bought many flavourful and fabulous items and returned for lots more. From the cute cupcakes to the yummy pizza, this is a must for everyone in the GTA! Told all my friends to check it out! Can’t wait to have meals on that lovely patio.

Abigail Snow

Doughnut was less than spectacular , they forgot one of my items, the cannoli was plane with almost no flavor the only good thing they had was their pizza and even then the pepperoni is burnt. Not a good experience for the price

Kevin Tyler

Busy place but good system of a person taking orders and then other staff who put it together. Maybe waited 5 minutes to get stuff after order. Baked goods were awesome.

phraseography

Really beautiful bakery. You can get pizza, sandwiches, gelato, and baked goods. Amazing looking cakes, pies, cupcakes, and cookies. You can also get assorted cake boss merch. Prices are ok for such a shop but expect to spend some money. Line wasn't to bad for opening Saturday it was about 30 min.

Stan Snieg

The pastry taste good, unfortunetly the refrigeration displayes do not justify the look of the pastry. Deli sandwiches kept in unrefrigirated displays. Not a good way to display the product.

YYZFRANK

Being a fan of cake Boss for a long time I had to go check out this place. I haven't been able to go to Hoboken due to the pandemic and just clearing time on my schedule. Overall very nice very classy fancy Bakery but you're going to have to pay to enjoy the treats very overpriced in my opinion. Being a local Toronto foodie trying to find the best cannoli $5.99 for one is a little too expensive. $6.99 for a lobster tail like I said they weren't bad but very overly priced. Friendly staff service was good didn't have to wait too long. The only reason I would go back is to try the gelato. Also had a pizza as I also do pizza reviews and it wasn't bad.

Staci Crozier

Waited in line for Over half an hour, once we got inside we realized why. They are VERY inefficient. They have two people taking orders and 10 staff behind the counter running around doing one order at a time. One person calling out order by order and one at a time. Waited over twenty minutes for someone to pass me three pre-packages cake slices. Also incredibly overpriced. $50 for a 6inch plain round cake and $9.99 for a slice of cake. Not worth the wait or the price. Products taste good but can definitely find similar products for more affordable price. Extremely disappointed in how it’s run and how expensive it is.

Cinthia Fani

The exterior & interior are very elegant, I didn't have to wait long and staff was pleasant. As others mentioned, it is overpriced. $6 for a small size ricotta cannoli. The ricotta filling is good...... just good. The chocolate cannoli has chocolate on the inside AND outside, I found that to be too much-one layer in my opinion would be enough. The lobster tail was fresh & the custard filling was light & tasty-$7 each. I ordered a rainbow chocolate cake slice - I should have double-checked the bag before leaving the store - I realized once I got home it was just a chocolate cake. It was fresh - BUT it was like eating cocoa mixed with a bag of sugar. NO particular taste, just layers of sugary, sugary icing. Besides the cannoli & lobster tails, there is nothing Italian about this bakery - maybe that's just my expectation? Overall, I would suggest going once to see what the hype is all about, but I would personally not go back nor recommend it. Great tasting cakes & pastries are found at San Remo, Monastery, St Phillips, Casa Romana & La Villa bakeries.

Andrew Trudgeon

Fantastic experience and quality. Peperroni pizza is amazing as well!!! Hoboken baby!

C R

I agree with the below review calling it an "Italian themed Tim Hortons", this is not an Italian bakery. I was really excited for the opening of this bakery after watching the show for many years. I ordered a Lobster tail, cannoli, and slice of birthday cake. Can I just say I was very disappointed. The cannoli are SO SWEET the taste is still lingering in my mouth. The vanilla sprinkle cake was pasty and had a weird citrus aftertaste, the icing tasted like nothing but lard. I gave 2 stars because I did like the lobster tail. crispy and flakey with a custard that tastes a lot like cake batter.

Kal Hjouj

What a disappointment!!! Let alone that their poor products are double the market price (and absolute rip off), which i expected to reflect on the quality. But i was totally wrong. The worst eclair that i have ever had in my life, dry, apparently not fresh, stuffed with whipped cream!! I'm not going to waste my words describing how awful the cannolis were as well. If you're really interested in enjoying quality desserts, Carlos's definitely not the one.

Peter Lane

On the plus side the staff is very pleasant and nice and clean. On the downside, overpriced for a mediocre donut and cherry cheesecake. The Pusateri's of bakeries: shop here if you want to brag that you overpaid for what you got.

M Kay

I've noticed that restaurants famous and hyped in NY/NJ are usually over hyped. However, we Canadians don't fall for the marketing and hypes any longer. Anchor bar, halal guys just to name a few have all fallen down and gone bankrupt in Canadian market since we prefer quality and value over the marketing hype. Carlo's bakery seems like another over hyped chain. Overpriced and the price doesn't match the quality either. Either make changes or they'll fail in Canada like the others as well

oneca petgrave

Got a piece of the carrot cake it was OK but I enjoy the Metro carrot cake better also bought six cupcakes and the buttercream was not mixed Properly so you could taste and feel all the sugar in it was not impressed

Irina VP

I have to say that there are 2 aspects of my review. The Bakery and the Eatery. I can not say that I am impressed. I really expected something. But. First of all - half of the menu wasnt even available though the bakery is open only for 4 days. Second. I didnt understand their production line: I didnt get why I needed to stand in line to choose and pay, and after wait in line for prepacked cakes. Ah?! Third - for blueberry cheesecake - they didnt even bother to put any crust inside. Must admit that blueberries themselves were good. Fourth - the red velvet cake - i could feel the bitterness from the food paint. Not good at all. Though - the cream between layers was good. Overall - i dont think i created a desire to return to this Bakery again for the cakes. The Eatery. Excellent! I had Basil-Tomato- Mozzarella sandwichwith fresh focaccia bread, and the Potato sandwich witht he same bread. Full meals! Nice & fresh! Delic.

The famous Carlo’s Bakery is in town, and I’m not talking about the vending machine at Square One! They recently opened up their first Canadian location on Lakeshore, and it’s the full out bakery serving cakes, pastries, espresso, gelato, pizza, and more! We visited today (Friday) in the afternoon and we lined up outside for about 25 minutes with about 20 people ahead of us. Make sure to go early because it seems to be the place that everyone is curious about. We found everything on the pricier side but we had to reward ourselves after toughing it out in -7 c weather! Here’s what we tried out: ???? Rainbow Cake Slice ???? Chocolate Fudge Cake Slice ???? Box of Lobster Tails ???? Cherry Cheesecake ???? Classic Strawberry Cheesecake ☕️ Hot Chocolate The hot chocolate was just what we needed to defrost. The cake slices were nice and moist, with the frosting on the sweeter side. The cheesecakes (fave!) were delicious and very creamy with a nice hint of vanilla. They were surprisingly not as smooth as I thought they’d be and each one went for $9.99. The Lobster Tails was what we mainly came for. They were filled with a nice and smooth custard which we didn’t find to be overly sweet. These and the cannolis seemed to be flying off of the shelves and we were lucky to grab a box last minute as they were restocking! I’m excited to try out their gelato and a sandwich on my next visit! The store itself is well decorated and designed, but being a Toronto local, the eats were disappointing and overpriced. It was fun to check out once to avoid FOMO, but probably won’t be going back. We ordered: - Coffee (at $5.25 apiece), which was disappointing. Not up to par for the price, which can get you a locally roasted and barista-prepared coffee elsewhere. - A mutz sandwich, served cold, and unremarkable I have previously tried their cakes from the ATMs in Toronto, which were good, but at $10 a slice, it’s hard to justify the price. We didn’t buy anything else, as it looked overpriced. In a city with so many incredible local Italian bakeries, Carlos just doesn’t stack up. Just to mention a few that are worth a visit: -Sanremo Bakery in Etobicoke -Monastery Bakery in Oakville -Forno Cultura in Toronto -Sud Forno in Toronto

What an amazing bakery! I took my daughter to the new Carlos Bakery in Port Credit on Tuesday January 11th, 2022, so she could pick out her birthday cake. She choose the world famous Rainbow Cake, and they even put a birthday message on the top of the cake (I didn't know they did this). We picked up some fabulous donuts, some Lobster Tails, and Chocolate Cannoli's. Everything was so AMAZING and so FRESH! The bakery or store is so well done. From the design, décor, and being able to see the bakers behind the glass making all the super delicious treats! I was also pleasantly surprised to find out they have freshly made sandwiches and pizza. I didn't find any of the prices high what so ever and will be a frequent customer. Thank you Carlos Bakery Port Credit for making my daughters birthday so special.

Alex Surik

Cakes , pizza and all bakery worth trying , will be visiting regularly when in area. On top of that Carlos is great businessman , entrepreneur and showman he created great brand which people that love. Thank you for coming to mississauga Carlos

Gillian Benteau

Ordered for a birthday. ordering was easy, cake arrived well packaged and on time. It was very pretty, well decorated, beautiful inside and out. I am not a cake fan generally, but it is rich, moist and flavourful- not overly sugary, despite being fudge and sprinkles. Very impressed, would order again!

Hope P

Truly disappointed Carlos! I've had his cakes and desserts in NY and it tasted amazing so why is the quality so terrible for Canadians? Not worth $11 at all. I can get better cake in the grocery store. Never again!

Azad Jalali

It was worth the wait. Almost an hour to get in. The staff was very friendly and the store itself is beautiful both on the outside and in. I loved the mortadella and motz sandwich. The cheese cake was delicious and not too sweet. The cake Slice we bought was the red velvet and it was much the same as the vending machines around town. We need to try the cannoli next time and one of their other products. Highly recommended. But next time we'll visit in warmer weather.

Vicky

I was just there came all the way from Newmarket. I'm a huge fan of Buddy and his family. This was a day out for my husband and I. Spent about 140 dollars. The girl who got my order together served the customer before me forgot her cake slice. She literally took it out of my already packaged order and gave her mine instead of getting from the showcase. That's pretty ignorant and rude. Not impressed with what she did. That's complete and utter unprofessionalism.

HDHUNDUS10

The cake slices are amazing (taste better from the machine tho). I got peanut butter and caramel cupcakes and I haven't been so disappointed before with a cupcake. Two stars for the decent cake slices, nice interior and friendly staff. Wasn't worth the 30m wait.

Hareem Ahmed

Over priced and unimpressive. I wish it tasted like the cake we had in NY. This felt like a cheap knock off. Will definitely not be returning. A Costco cake tastes better than the boxed cake we had. The cannolis tasted like sugar water and flour dough. This was such a waste of money and time in the line up. Save yourselves the trip. The bakery needs better bakery items.

Adam Amoroso

Had some of the cannolis and can honestly say they weren't anything special, the shells were great but the filling was meh, definitely not worth the ridiculous price point for what they are

Kurtis Robinson

Got the canollis, the confetti cake slice, lobster tail, cupcakes, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. All the pastries were below average I would say. Cake and cupcakes were really dry, canollis were good but I've priced, lobster tail filling was delicious. However, the best thing I had there was the pizza slice. Very soft dough, Detroit style, plenty pepperonis and tasty sauce. Would go back for the pizza but would not go back for the pastries.

Lisa Manes

The hot-counter pizza was delicious and fresh! Cake slices were good too, just like the ones available in the vending machines. A bit of a longer wait line but that is expected being newly opened. Overall a fun experience!

Lynne LeBlanc

I guess Canadians don't get the same product as Americans. I've been a huge fan of Cake Boss, never missed an episode. Couldn't wait for Buddy to expand to Canada and taste one of those gorgeous lobster tails that buddy brags about so much only to discover that they were stale and extremely overpriced. I was so looking forward to this and now so very disappointed. I think I'll stick with my regular Canadian bakeries.

cheryl lamoureux

I went to Carlos yesterday for my 55th birthday treat. Watched Buddy on tv for years and knew a lobster tail would be my special treat! It was superb! So crispy sweet and the cream filling was so good! The staff are top notch. The bakery is beautiful and even though there is a line up the atmosphere is so positive! My friends swear by the cannoli and they even donate to the Compass. A great addition to our village

Chiara DiMatteo

The best lobster tails and cannoli I've ever had!! I purchased the vanilla rainbow cake for my son's birthday and it was a big hit! Will definitely be returning!

David M

10/10, this is the real deal. Congratulations to the staff and owners on a wonderful job. Excellent service, ambiance and high quality ingredients. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

Alexa Vincelli

Went this morning and it was a great experience! It’s so beautiful inside but really the sandwiches we got were very fresh and delicious. We also took home lobster tails and cannolis which were amazing. Happy to have this bakery nearby!

John Adamczyk

Just because you could, doesn’t mean you should. Nobody asked for this in port credit. Whatever this is , it’s not a good bakery. It’s a marketing company. Beautiful interior with no expense spared on quartz slab walls, gold trim on everything and the nicest finishings. Wish they had put half as much effort into their actual food. $4 Cookies stale and taste worse than subway cookies. Pizza doesn’t even deserve a participation medal, little to no effort put into the quality of the food for the insane (2x) price they charge compared to local owned bakeries . 5.99 for a cannoli, $6.99 for a chocolate cannoli is highway robbery. Vastly superior local options available for half the price. I’m happy to pay more for higher quality but this is not it. It’s a nice place to take a picture ????????‍♂️

John Greeniaus

Fancy new bake shop in Port Credit. Not the drop in every day kind of shop. I would have liked a almond croissant. Hopefully they will make more to have enough for the entire day. Wishing them great success.

Nikki

Visiting Carlos Bakery was like going to a cake spa! As fans of the cakes from the machines my family and I were excited to go to the bakery. It was high class, great service and most importantly great treats! We tried some of everything - gelato, canolis, donut, cheesecakes and cake slices. The kids favourite are the rainbow fudge cake, red velvet cake and donut! All were delicious! Looking forward to another visit to try pizza and another treat!

Johnathon McPherson

Way overpriced, overhyped, I like the cake boss tv show but not the corporate style they grew into, better quality at many other bakeries across the gta.

David Lee

my daughter wanted a rainbow cake for her birthday, impossible to find! I saw that carlos bakery had one and ordered a cake which was shipped to my house. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and tasted even better! Very rich and moist. I didn't think we could finish the cake but everyone came back for a second slice! Tough to find a cake this pretty and delicious. Highly recommend!

Dom Bert

This is a classy place we needed to have an authentic bakery in Port Credit Lorne Park area. It’s about time we get the real authentic tastes. The food is all fabulous and the Cannoli are outstanding . The team are very polite and go over and above to make the experience the best. Can’t wait to enjoy the patio in the warm weather and enjoy a coffee and Cannoli . The store looks outstanding and brings class to the area. Tutti bene Augri

Ramy Akladios

Basic selection, and Betty Crocker taste. Overpriced for no reason. The store is nice and instagrammable, and staff is nice, but that’s about it.

Yve C

Popped by Carlo's bakery last night. Seeing the warm glow from the window from their beautifully designed store adds much more eye pleasing aesthetic to the nearby geography. I have to say that anyone who has the time to write a 1 star review is not an expert on anything. I ordered the Classic Cannoli and Lobster Tails with a Macchiato. If you're looking for a cheap overly sweet baked good with cheap ingredients and cheap drip coffee, please go there. The cannoli and lobster tail were so fresh, light, crisp and with a smooth delicious filling that is sweetened perfectly! I can't wait to buy a box next time to share with friends. Remember behind Carlo's are owners who are human beings that have also employed people during COVID and are all working hard to earn a living. I would give you 10 stars if I could to cancel out the other nonsensical reviews. Cheers!

I BELIEVE I CAN FRY !

I had high expectations from CARLOS bakery, unfortunately it seems like a very ordinary bake shop. Not too many options for cake or cupcakes. Also the cupcakes were very dry. They put in money for the decor, instead they should have invested in bringing more flavors and baked treats. Sorry but was disappointed ☹️

Rodica Maduta

Came to the store excited and with high expectations. Got few items and not impressed at all with the taste. Disappointed on how the orders are taken! Had to wait another 15 min to get the order after paying. Beyond my understanding why the person who took my order was not able to grab the items and put them in box in the same time…..so you can leave immediately. Counted 8 servers running around in a circle.Very expensive as well.

Leo Ciccone

If you're looking for a real (New York) Italian bakery, don't come here. This is basically an Italian themed Tim Hortons. There is no baking or associated aromas, just a facade of finishing pastries in the front while hauling out frozen cakes from the back. That being said, the products are way overpriced but actually all quite good. Let's face it, you are here in line to show the world via social media plus showing up to an event with a Cake Boss anything is way cool. Marketing to the masses at its best!!

Jean Fahoom

Nice people, great service Joe was super nice person, he gave a FREE hot chocolate to us when we were lining up outside. When we ordered and waiting our stuff, he was chatting with my son and I, he then invited my son to choose two ice cream flavors and gave him the two scopes for FREE. Great person We got our order and went to the car, and everything was delicious. Their croissant is next level. Love this place.

Sylvie Greeniaus

It's a very beautiful store. Think jewelry store for pastries with prices to match. We had a peanut butter cupcake($4.69), beautifully presented and boxed. The chocolate cake was on the dry side(needs a filling) and the icing was delicious but grainy. I expect they used peanut butter powder and not peanut butter. Not sure why anyone would do that. Chocolate chip cookie($3.69) was ok. I would have expected the chocolate chunk/batter ratio to be higher and served warm. My 4 oz cup of hazelnut gelato($5.75) was good. Flavored artificially. For the premium pricing I would expect it to be made with hazelnut paste and toped with a signature piece of chocolate. There was coffee, but it's not the focus. Did not have any this time. Lots of branded merchandise. Nice addition to Port Credit. Wishing them the most success.

Isaac Kim

What even is this place??? It’s more like a merchandise store then an actual bakery. Quality is decent, but not worth what they are charging. There are still many equally good mom and pop shops out there is Sauga that sell items twice the size at more then half the price. Personally I wouldn’t spend my money here and would rather support a local business instead. ???????? Regardless to each their own.

Darren Barreca

Delicious cakes and lobster tails, some of the best cannoli I've tried. Quality products all round. Cake's are amazingly light and fluffy. Yes it's busy, come early if you can.

John Silva

Overpriced and overated. Had to wait 30 minutes for a lobster tail way too sweet and stale.Won't be going back. If you want amazing cakes go to LaNovita bakery on John St. You won't be disappointed

Taha B

All but hype! Wayyyyyyy over priced. Like at least make it your dessert taste good if I'm paying this much. Lobster tails hard as rock. Cup cakes literally taste Betty Crocker mix. The store is very nice that's about it. I would definitely not come back here again what waste of $55 for 5 lobster tail and one cupcake. Thank God I didn't order more

Lesia Komorowsky

My first visit to this wonderful bakery was a delight. My favourite, the cannoli, were delicious. Have tried many of their other offerings as well and also very good. The decor inside is light, bright, airy and the displays and serving areas well spaced out. The staff were very friendly, helpful despite being very busy the day I was there. I look forward to enjoying a coffee and cannoli on the patio once it gets warmer. What a great addition to the neighbourhood.

Flavia Martino

The lobster tails were great, just like I had them in Times Square! Happy Carlo's Bakery is in Canada and such a beautiful addition to the neighbourhood. Will be back again soon!

Jim Beam

Bad quality products with big pricetags. This would have been better as a quick pop-up shop. Something like this in port credit is unnecessary, especially in a pandemic with smaller business suffering. End the cake boss fad, it is over a decade old, it is irrelevant. Go watch cake bass re-runs from 2009 on TLC and leave this in the past.

h b

I had a wonderful experience . The store is beautiful, the stuff is very welcoming and helpful. I got the cannolis and they were delicious. Strawberry cheesecake is the best I have ever tried and the eclairs were very good. I will definitely come back.

Daniel K

Was super excited to try what they had to offer. I got 2 slices of cake 4 lobster tails and 4 cannoli which cost me $80 dollars ???? and had to wait 20 minutes for them to finalize my order after already waiting in line for 20 mins. My guests and i were all truly disappointed with all my purchases :( the cannoli were descent. The web site is also missing Soo many of there other treats. The staff were pleasant.

Adam DeVellis

Bakery was great! I also love the vending machines so much I visit them everyday.

Elaine B

Ordered two of their cupcake varieties and the icing was really grainy? The icing texture was similar to sand, and the actual cake part was very plain. Definitely think its pretty overpriced.

Raymond DeRose

We visited the new Carlo's Bakery in Port Credit and it was a great experience! There was a bit of a line up but it moved quickly. The staff is super friendly (love the uniforms!) and the space is gorgeous. We ordered some cannolis and lobster tails and a slice of strawberry short cake they were all fantastic! We bought a full red velvet cake for our son's birthday tomorrow, looking forward to digging into that. I cant wait to go back for the pepperoni pizza, it looks so good!

Marie T

What is this overpriced hyped up trash.... if you're dying for good deserts just support a local business. Definitely not a place worth standing around for in the cold. Employees seem confused, pastries are subpar and the only thing holding this place up is the name "Carlo's Bakery". Remove the name and the fancy decor, you've got low quality pastries. I have NO clue what those 5 star reviews are talking about.

Rosal Reyes

Had the pleasure of visiting Carlo’s Bakery this week. The desserts were delicious and the bakery was beautiful! Welcome to Canada, Cake Boss!

Alicia Lall

This shop is stunning. The decor and set up is beautiful. The staff are friendly and polite. All of the desserts and cakes look delicious. We’ve had cakes from Carlos’ bakery before and the cakes are prepared consistently. There’s an area also to order sandwiches and coffees. It’s fancy! The rainbow cake is always a fav. It’s worth a visit :)

Les W.

I bought cannoli chocolate and two lobster tails. It would be nice, if the taste matched the price. Taste wise nothing to brag about. I don't think, I will be visiting this place again.

Omar S

They need to set up their quality. Please invest in quality improvement, it’s desperately needed. The interior and vibe can’t sell your product on their own. Outside of the cake everything is very stale and mediocre. This could be a great future hangout place in sauga if the managers put in the effort now to change things.

X A

As soon as I saw the announcement I rolled my eyes... I knew this place is gonna be some sort of money grab attraction which is gonna lose its hype some time soon. I tried their products in NY and it was worse then what you could get at a supermarket while being insanely priced. I honestly hate Carlos Bakery and I cant believe that they put a store in my backyard. I really hope they run out of business soon and this place will begone!

Olga Strashylina

Was here today, really disappointed. For such a price you expect to have some nice, fresh desert, made of good quality ingredients. But what you have here - is a frozen slice of a cake of an average quality. Lobster tail is so hard you can't even bite it. Cannoli is a bit better. If I wanted something of this quality I would better go to Costco and pay 2-3 times less. Plus they forgot to put 2 cookies in the bag (8! dollars for just 2 cookies). I discovered it when I opened a box at home. Not doing this mistake again.

kelcey whyte

LOVE it! So happy they finally opened a Carlos bakery in Canada. The red velvet cake is by far the best I’ve ever had. Cannolis and lobster tails are definitely what they are known for and don’t disappoint. The interior is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to hangout on the patio this summer!

Tyler Sayles

So much hype for an unfortunate experience! This place is extremely unorganized so expect long waits (Not caused by being busy). The selection was small and they were even selling products they didn’t have available at the time. By the time we finally got to eat our cake, it wasn’t bad.. but wasn’t the best either. We’ll definitely give it a second try in a few months. Hopefully they’ll a lot of the issues fixed!

Matthew Dales

I have never been to a bakery or any store for that matter in Canada that has such a unique welcoming and nostalgic design to it. I felt like I was in Paris or Disney World. The cake is world class, the beverages are well made and delicious and the staff are happy to help make your day a little brighter with this incredible and immersive experience. I just found my new Saturday morning bakery. Incredible place !!!!

Aman Bansal

What we liked : lobster tails were good though would be nice to.have a better mix of crunchy and cream in each bite (creme felt all front loaded. Didn't like anything else we tried including the cakes or.the cheesecake tarts. Plus when you factor in the price, it was overrated.

A lot of people have weird expectations of this place. I went in without ever seeing the cake boss show and it was an amazing experience, you walk in and everything is beautifully decorated, the staff are all super friendly and understanding and the pizza is soooo amazing which I didn’t expect. This is 100% a 5 star bakery. Try the strawberry jelly donuts, you won’t regret it :)

DO NOT GO. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Overall, not impressed with the experience I had at this bakery. My family and I live 30 minutes away and it was not worth the drive. Firstly, the location itself is not convenient whatsoever. The parking lot is crammed behind the building and requires a bit of a walk to the storefront. The parking spots are also occupied by Carlo's Bakery trucks (they were randomly placed in the lot, shouldn't they have designated spots??). The inside of the store felt squished and awkward. There was someone controlling the person capacity limit although there was no sign of a counter in their hand (suspicious), even then it felt like there was an excessive amount of people inside the store. The ordering system is completely broken, you walk up to the counter and place your order of pastries (mind you, the selection of pastries is very limited and overpriced) and move to the side while they prepare your order. No offence, putting 3-4 pastries in a box should not take 15-20 minutes. There were 4 young employees standing around while one was preparing the orders. Meanwhile, all the orders have piled up which leads to standing around one end of the bakery amongst all the other people waiting. No markings on the ground for us to maintain social distance either. We ordered 2 chocolate cannolis and 2 lobster tails ($35 later) and stood off to the side while they prepared the order. Multiple people were already waiting but we ended up standing there for at least 20 minutes. They served each order one by one regardless of their amount. So for our 2 boxes of pastries, we still had to wait behind the larger orders ahead of us, resulting in lingering of customers. While we waited for an excessive amount of time, I watched a customer remove her mask and stand at the back of the store eating her gelato. Not a single employee noticed nor enforced covid restrictions and asked her to leave. The customer did this for the majority of our wait. She eventually finished and put her mask back on but there was no sign of mask enforcement. By the time we recieved our order, we asked for the lobster tails and the cannolis in seperate boxes beforehand, however the incompetent staff shoved the lobster tails in a tiny box, crushed them and put the cannolis in 2 seperate boxes (one in each box). Ridiculous! If I'm paying $35 for 4 pastries, at the very least give them to me intact. I also noticed the cake slices were being restocked frozen from the back. Customers were told to wait an hour before you eat them. Just another example of the low authenticity in this "italian bakery". The whole "bakery experience" appears more like a facade. The only manager in sight refrained from telling the young employees to speed it up or do their job, as there were 5+ groups of people waiting on their orders. Although he was friendly, there was a lack of management of staff. On a positive note, I went to the bakery the first week they opened. It wasn't as bad of an experience but likely because they had just opened the location. Their pastries are tasty and they also have pizza slices as well as sandwiches which are good too. However, everything is expensive, so be prepared to pay the price for mediocre product. If you're looking for the italian bakery experience, I would NOT recommend Carlo's Bakery Canada. We've been to the Hoboken location when Cake Boss first blew up (although I'm sure things are different now) but the experience was much more authentic. Now that Carlo's Bakery has expanded and become more franchised, the authenticity is gone. If your looking for something better, SanRemo Bakery is significantly nicer and family owned. More selection, reasonably priced and better service. They also follow Covid protocol very well. The cakes are fresh not frozen and the sandwiches are triple the size, better priced and tastier. I'd recommend going there before Carlo's for an authentic italian bakery experience. I've attached the address below: 374 Royal York Road, Etobicoke Forget Port Credit, Etobicoke Baby!!!!

I sometimes watch The Cake Boss and was very excited to have Carlos Bakery open in Port Credit. I checked it out last night. The place is beautiful and the patio will be a great place to sit with a coffee and a treat when the weather warms up. I bought a vanilla cupcake to try it out. Not cheap but if it's as good as I suspect it might be, no problem. I was disappointed with it. The cake part was fresh and moist but the icing was grainy, sugary and very sweet. I like a smooth butter cream frosting. I'm not giving up. Will try again, maybe with a cannoli. We are willing to pay a bit more for quality but I didn't see that last night.

When I heard that Carlo's was coming to Canada I was so excited, as I had never had the chance to try the infamous cakes before. I tried the carrot cake and the red velvet; they were amazing! Can't wait to buy my friend a cake for her bday :)

More traffic, more sugar, more overpriced instagram attractions, more garbage for the masses, check out the smaller bakeries in the area and let this weird cake boss fad finally fizz out please. BUDDY VALASTRO HERE WATCH ME IN THE 2009 CAKE BOSS RE RUNS

Really overpriced cake slices and whole cakes for the taste. Cannoli and lobster tails were good.

You get what you paid for and WE got amazing treats and sandwiches! The freshness of the bread and cheese was incredible I recommend the Carrot cake and Donuts for your sweet tooth! Can not wait to try the pizza! Great job and thank you for making Port Credit your Canada destination!!

Is this really still a thing? Is cake boss really still a thing or is this place hopefully going to be shut down in a few months. It is a huge eyesore and does not fit in the Port Credit area. There is enough traffic here as it is and we don't random instagrammers coming in and ruining things even more. I went into the "bakery" to find it out to be a glorified walmart with prepackaged sugar cookies. $50 for a cake? Come on people, look at the beautiful bakeries nearby for better taste and half the price.

Honestly had pretty high expectations. The inside was beautiful, staff lovely, the food....super disappointing. I had a cukecake, slice of cake, and the cannolis. Cupcake- you could honestly get better at a grocery store Cake- nothing to write home about, tasted average Cannolis- best thing here, but super overpriced Support local, it isent worth the hype/name

Wow!! I was absolutely impressed with this place. I've been to the original Carlos Bakery in New Jersey and I can honestly tell you that the Canadian Version is.... AUTHENTIC AND WORTH THE VISIT ( price is spot on, the portions and weight of either a slice of cake or lobster tail or their famous cannolis are HUGE AND VERY FILLING !! YUMMY YUMMY !! ( I gotta try an espresso or cappuccino next time I'm in.. yeah..they have that too ) Great experience overall, staff was very polite and very helpful addressing any questions I was asking!! Highly recommended!
