I’ve been coming here for a while, and must say - this is the best manakeesh place in town. The secret? The bread. The ingredients are fantastic, but the blockbuster is certainly the bread. Bread and Salt never disappoints with their sweets and savoury foods. I ordered a zaatar and cheese manakeesh as well as a small box of Arab sweets. Simply amazing! The structure of Bread and Salt is modern yet reminds you vividly of middle eastern culture and its many trademarked products. It’s a cozy, welcoming, and beautiful place to sit and a meal. Congrats to the owners who still manage to keep the quality levelled despite COVID and public restrictions. I would sincerely urge anyone who’s willing to try this type of food to give them a chance.

Very very nice elegant place! I was impressed by the design and the cleanliness they have! It looks brand new and they have a variety of things to purchase! I went for a frozen Shish Kabab plate, they sell Arabic food as well as Arabic breakfast and some sweets. The price of the plate was $19.99 and it has 50 dumplings which is really good. Parking is available Washrooms are very neat and clean I will most definitely come back

I am very glad that I found this place. This is a wonderful bakery with very different authentic delicious pies, croissants and food which you won’t find anywhere else. Zataar is a must try and spinach pie is very tasty. The place is run by great people, I found them very generous and humble. I just drove into the driveway and saw the sign - wasnt sure if it was a bakery or a lunch place - turns out it was both...I went and a lovely lady helped me out with explanations of items on the menu - I tried her suggestion and it was the best chicken and mushroom wrap I have ever had. Kitchen and management staff not wearing masks - October 2020 Covid-19 pandemic update: staff don't wear masks neither in front nor in kitchen. Female staff member in kitchen coughed loudly many times over a 20 minute period of time. Excellent food and coffee. Lots of options. Memorable focaccia and pistachio mulberry croissants. I love this place! Been here multiple times and each time I leave feeling totally fulfilled and happy. Their manousheh comes straight from their oven and is amazingly flavorful. Their pastries look delicious too but I usually don't make it past the oven because the manousheh is just too good! Every time I've been, the staff has been friendly. They had beautiful Christmas decorations today and they sell interesting gift items from local producers too! Great job! :D

After much hype, I went yesterday on Valentine’s Day 2021! I live in Richmond hill so that was a road trip for me. Not worth it! Food was ok! Nothing special. The pistachio croissant was very nice but honestly not worth the trip. Not to mention everything was over priced. Other than the pita bread, everything else was extremely pricey! The place is in an industrial area, so no huge rent. I made the frozen kibbeh today. Was Very good. Authentic taste and good quality.

I travel around 70 KM each way a month to this place to shop for middle eastern products. This place is one of the best places in the GTA for bread and other products, little pricy but you get what you pay for, I believe the owner did a great job putting things together but failed in training some of his employees. I never did any bad reviews for any place unless repetitive issues are happening to the place and I care about having them fixed and me to continue shopping at the place. In three different visits employees was chatting to each other and ignoring customers, last time I just left without getting what I wanted to order. I do believe this place have a good potential for growth if they improve the quality of customer experience , saying that I will give them another try hope things will improve shortly and keep enjoying the good food if not maybe I need to look for alternatives!

It was such a bad experience and I am not happy with it.. I ordered my pita bread a day before coming from Barrie all the way! I got there the next day and they just simply forgot about me and the worker never told them about my order. They promised to deliver it the next day with their truck and they played it nice and gave me 5 packs of pita to shut me up.. Even the manager did not talk to me! . I paid the price and drove back home for a 100km thinking that my pita will be delivered the next day.. Then few hours later they called me to say they can’t do it!! Supper bad customer service. Treating customers with honesty is more important than the quality.. Never going back

Very nice place with delicious food. I’ve tried their Fatayer and I loved it. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and the staff as well. We also sampled some dessert and it was really really good. I told my husband we should come back to dine in and to have some tea or coffee with their delicious dessert. Update - ordered and tried their food as they had an offer for chicken mandi. I also tried the eggplant curry. Both were not good. The mandi was served with too much rice and not enough chicken - but the worst part is that it's more as if you're eating oil than anything else because that's all I tasted. Way. Too. Much. Oil. 1 star as the pistachio croissant was delicious (finally got to try a croissant). Didn't like everything else so not sure if I'd return, other than just for the pistachio croissant. This has been an occasionally drop off place for whenever I need breakfast items or I want dessert, etc. This location is very nicely decorated. There are many things available, from olive oil, to frozen kunafa, to a cookbook, to packaged Arabic desserts and much more. There is also a wide variety of items offered and different bread types. Price is a bit expensive for the quality received. Overall, I found their petit fours to be just okay. I do love their croissants, but unfortunately a lot of times when I visit there is not much to choose from as everything seems to have been sold out or maybe wasn't made for the day. Even for the ice cream, there isn't any available whenever I want some. Love that they are pretty authentic and offers both fresh-to-order menu items. Would love to be able to have access to the full menu items whenever I visit so I can order more and not be restricted to what's available.

An extremely disapointing experience. I wish Bread and Salt Bakehouse spent money on hiring experienced bakers and sourcing quality ingredients as much as they did on their Decor! I tried their Manousheh varierty (Za'atar, Spinash, Cheese and Lahem Be Ajeen) and It was a big disappointment. On top of all this, all items are way over priced! A thin Lahem Be Ajeem that most probably I can make a better one at home sells for $9 + tax!!!. Never Again.

Me and my colleagues have been coming here at least 2-3 times a week since they've opened. Their fresh bread is so good, and their cookies are dangerously addicting! I'm pretty sure we almost finished a loaf of sourdough in one sitting. They've just started testing a new menu, and I'm not very familiar with Middle Eastern cuisine, but it's super flavourful and affordable. Saboussek (sp?) might be my new go-to. The owners and staff are also super friendly, engaging and professional. Overall, it's great food and great atmosphere. 10/10! ????

When the staff helped me to take some croissants, MANY BUGS Or FLIES flied around those croissants. Apparently, those flies were sitting on those croissants for a while. Seriously??? And the staff seemed used to it, which terrified me. I am seriously concerned about the food safety. Will not visit again.

I love going to Bread and Salt for their savoury Syrian delicacies! My favourite is the samboussek manousheh (spinach triangle with pomegranate and sumac), but I also love the different varieties of manousheh. The pastries are also excellent, particularly the pistachio croissants. They also offer frozen foods, Middle Eastern groceries and Syrian sweets. With a bright and elegant shop and friendly owners, I highly recommend a visit!

My go to place for fresh pita bread! Love how clean this place always look. Great when you can go in, grab a couple of packages of pita, pay and be out in about 1 minute. Not so great when you go in to grab a couple of packages of pita bread and left standing there waiting for 10 minutes to pay because there is nobody at cash and they need two employees to handle the only other customer there --- good thing this doesn't happen often.

Really appreciate the boss catering to my vegan needs (no dairy or honey) for my order of sour dough bread yesterday. Got my bread today and like the freshness and crunchiness. Bread should be eaten this fresh. Can improve on the payment side as I did not asked for the receipt which was used to write my phone number. I was not sure I paid for one or two though two was baked but I only took one as I was not sure! Keep up on enforcing proper masks wearing to protect everyone, especially the employees. Surprise find for us! From the moment we walked in, it was love at first bite, surrounded by so many goodies and delights. We wanted a piece of everything. Everything we tried was delicious ???? .. kunafa (cream) was best I've had in GTA. The Mouhamara with cheese is highly recommended. Fatayer was delicious and Baklava was simply lip smacking. Didn't get a chance to try the basbousa (and a whole lot of other stuff - see pics) but we'll certainly be coming back for that, and more.

Went there yesterday and got some manakeesh and deserts. We had guests coming over. Typically manakeesh is good, never tried the knafeh until yesterday. Everybody complained that it tasted off, they said it tasted like onions. We got so embarrassed and apologized. My wife called this morning, to let them know knafeh was off. She said we are regular customers and it tasted off, was super nice to the lady. Instead of apologizing and offering a replacement, OR ANY SORT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. The lady says I will let them know and hung up the phone!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Here is a photo of the knafeh. In the GARBAGE!

After each bite of food I had to pause because I was overwhelmed by the amazing flavor profile of each bite, most the food and dessert was very delicious is divine, the brought out tea of joy, but best of all is the service, and very kind people. Just finished breakfast at bread and salt .. I was missing authentic oriental Manae’esh ,lots of ppl recommended it and they were absolutely right ! The flavours were amazing and neat ! I saw their advertisement on Instagram so I decided to check it out today, best decision ever! The foccia bread were soft and flavourful the croissants were big, light and fluffy. I would definately recommend this place to my friends and family..can't wait to try other food on the menu.

This is a great gem tucked away. Store has so many things worth coming for. Great pita bread, a lot of middle eastern spices and food items, delicious croissants, and mouth watering pastries, and great selection of frozen foods to cook at home.

I found this place to be really over priced. A lot of things you can find at other stores for much cheaper. Something else that's weird is they have a big sign in front of the store, but some reason you have to access through a side door that is hard to see.

There are dozens of pita bread makers in the GTA. All look the same and taste almost the same... meh! Bread and salt is an exception. Authentic tasting with soft lasting texture every single time. I don’t know how they do it without preservatives. I’ll be driving south the borders tomorrow with a trunk load of white pitas. My nephews can’t get enough.

My favourite Middle Eastern place! Their breads and pastries are always fresh. The Manaeesh are authentic. Also, the frozen uncooked meals are very TASTY!! Would highly recommend their dine-in menu as well! Definitely my go-to place for all middle eastern groceries and Syrian sweets.

We love this place. Everything is extremely fresh and made with the best ingredients. They even have a few gourmet grocery items on the shelves for purchase. The grilled and marinated artichokes are a must purchase every time we go. They also sell a really good olive and caper pita (SO good). The pistachio ice-cream is worth its weight in gold, plus some! It is soooo goood! Thank you for making these awesome products!

It is a hidden treasure! Our go to place to buy khubz/pita IMHO one of the best I have had! Have tried their baked items which were good as well as the ice creams. The other products like jams and condiments I found the prices to be very high. Staff is very helpful and pleasant. In terms of hygiene I would give them a 10!!!

You love this place as soon as you walk in. I thought it's some sort of just a bakery but it's like being in a Shami market. Got the bakery where we got some great Manakeesh Cheese and another with beef, all for $18. They also have lots of dessert, middle eastern meals and groceries. The owner (I think) was VERY friendly. He gave us some great fatayer and desserts to try out and even ma7shi kromb to try out. It was an interesting experience for sure. The only downside is that they close at 6. I wish they would stay for later. It's so bomb

We had the beef chaplee and beef tikka and both were very well marinated and well cooked. Excellent taste. The naans are amazing. Wish we had taken pics. Currently there is no dine in during the pandemic but their decor and seating is high end. We will definitely return!

My family and I love the Bread and Salt Bakehouse! They have a lot of freshly baked breads and goodies, as well as a variety of imported arabic delicacies. Their hot food counter also features fresh, home-style arabic dishes for takeout. They do catering orders, too, to your liking. We've ordered from them before and the owners are eager to meet your needs. As far as I'm concerned, they have my full 5 stars!!

Thank you Bread and Salt for helping make my sister's wedding on Saturday so tasty! Bread and Salt helped us create a pre-packaged meal that could be eaten while socially distance and ensuring no one was touching anything but their package. The package was beautifully created with a menu print on the lid and very lovely display of the food in the compartments inside. They went out of their way to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Most important they offered a wide variety of delicious food options to select from to include inside the package. Everyone loved the food and the presentation and safety convenience. Best of all was the heartfelt customer service - Dania gave us helpful tips and made sure all the details were perfect. The food arrived exactly on time and they made sure it was displayed just right. It was an absolute pleasure working with Bread and Salt Bakehouse! Shukran!

I came here after hearing good things. A really well made establishment. Clean and classy. The staff was very polite and helpful in telling me about the different things and recommending what I could get. I had the chocolate croissant, almond croissant and the Mouhamara Manousheh. All of these were amazing. Croissant, airy and perfectly crisp. Good chocolate and loved it. I was having the Manousheh for the first time. The bread was so soft and fresh. I accidentally found this place while setting up a software for the nearby college next door and walked in casually to see what they had to offer. I was greeted at the door by the owner and his wife, was given a tour of the place with all the food names, their ingredients and how they make and was given free samples to try and see if I would love it. We interacted and had connection. He asked me if I had kids and told I had 5 of them and he offered me 5 different things to try with my kids for free. The kids ended up loving all the samples. I bought the ice cream whole roll and few pitas and I tell you everything was good.Thank you for your good food and the exceptional customer service. May God bless your business.

Love love love love LOVE their croissants. They’re all good but my ultimate faves are dark chocolate and almond. I’ve also had their savoy pastries (not sure what they’re called, the cheese and spinach ones are the best). They’re always so generous with samples too so you know what you’re buying beforehand. That speaks volumes, they’re confident in their products. If I could give 10 stars, I would!
