Every experience here can be described with one word: YUM! First, great bread and buns, so fresh and perfect every time. Second, they have so many delicious treats and my absolute favourite are their cinnamon twists... big and fluffy and cinnamon-sugary and just a hint of donuty goodness. Third, the people who work here are always smiling and happy. What a great place!

I've always received friendly service and never had to wait more than a minute or two. They have a video playing showing how they make everything and a number guessing game for a prize. They also put my bread into my own container so I can cut down on plastic bags. They sell some yummy artisan breads and also the basic whole wheat sandwich loaf. Very happy with the bakery.

Been a favourite, classic, go to bakery for us since 2008.... unfortunately, just not the same anymore. Recipies have changed, now quite ordinary. Used to be a bakery that was a must hit when in town for their amazing apple fritters and big Elvis....I will skip it from now on. #changeisbad

When you walk in your senses are over taken with such amazing aromas. Then you meet these beautiful woman at the counter and feel like family instantly. The variety is fantastic. The baked goods are awesome. There is always an "I Love You" to whom ever is working on my way out, just because it it such a homely atmosphere and I genuinely love them and supporting local.

If I'm expected to pay $3 for a Boston cream and $3 for a Bismark donut then I expect them to be filled with filling... Dry holes is what I got instead, not impressed, pretty important step I'd say. Since this review McBrides has reached out offering solutions to make sure this doesn’t happen to someone else. I was told quality control is very important to them and apologized for the mistake. I appreciate being reached out to and decided to change the rating from a 1 to 5 star based on the customer service, especially since their products are generally good. Everyone’s allowed to have a bad day.

Really friendly staff. I wish that they offered all that I want for bread. Jan 2018 edit: Not open on Mondays anymore. Very frustrating when I got here for my monthly trip to the city. Aug 2018 edit: The bread crust is too dry and tough, so I won't be buying here anymore.

Swiftly became our family favorite when we first moved to Medicine Hat. Baker's bread has become our daily bread of choice, the butterhorns are massive and delicious, and the donuts are so soft and tasty. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Seriously, this bakery is one of the best I've been to for crusty, chewy, euro style breads. The owners and staff are all bread lovers and you can tell by the real pride of product. This is so far the best bakery in Medicine Hat and I'd venture probably all southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Stop in, see what's on the menu (they have a walnut jammed sourdough that is fantastic). White, French, daily sandwich whatever, its all good. Eat. Enjoy.

Had a craving for a couple of donuts and wanted something better than Timmie's or Superstore. Didn't realize at the time that they no longer accept cash and as I didn't have my plastic with me, the owner asked if I needed change for my $10 as he had no cash float. As I had picked out three donuts - 2@ $1.75 and 1 @ $2.15 - under $6 with taxes - the owner didn't offer to add something else such as another donut, butter tart etc. to balance the scales - just took my money - leaving me out $4. I am all for supporting local and don't mind paying a premium to support other small business owners - however, feeling like I was taken advantage of with this transaction. Please enjoy the extra $4 profit as it will be a long, long time before I spend any more discretionary income with you.

Staff is amazing as is every product of theirs that I have tried. I used to make my own bread all of the time but then I found McBride's and their bread is identical to my Grandma's loaf whose recipe I use. This morning I had a piece toasted and thought of her while I spent my first ever Canada Day without her on the earth. Thanks for being everything a bakery should be, and more.
