The breakfast loaf on (only available on weekends) is incredible and even their day old stuff is delicious.

Excellent cinnamon buns

The cinnamon bun tasted not fresh. I asked the staff if the bun was made today and she said yes. But when I actually eat it when I got home, it was really hard and not fresh, definitely not made today. I totally understand how hard the small business are now but the food quality definitely should be the most important element positively related to the recovery of your business. Hope the owner could see this review and think about it. I still remember that before COVID I had a cinnamon bun there it was so delicious, I won’t say I will never come back because I know it is hard now, we should give small business more chances, hopefully next visit won’t let us down. :)

Got a delicious cheddar and tomato scone as well a Bannock with wild rice sandwich with butter and jam. Both were so tasty and a fantastic start to the day. Went well with the chai latte from Fools and Horses

Wonderful baking with local ingredients at fair prices. Treats and sandwiches as well as breads they'll slice to your preferred thickness on request.

An old favorite place to get our baked goods from. I used to get their spelt bread a lot. That and the sour dough. They are well known for their cinnamon buns.

Love their cinnamon buns!

I am not much of a sweet/pastry person but the cinnamon buns at this place are out of this world. A must-try if you are in the area!

Everything they make is delicious but the cinnamon buns and cheese twists are exceptional.

You have to absolutely visit this bakery if you are visiting the forks market. I can easily recommend arriving here in the mornings when their breads are just freshly baked, the whole wheat cinnamon buns are mouth watering delicious! You may think oh no whole wheat buns? trust me, one cannot taste it, you will most likely eat more than one bun if you are a type of person that enjoys a fresh cup of coffee and a warm baked treat in the mornings. If you see people taking home a dozen or more cinnamon buns, that is a normal daily routine....YES! they are that good. haha. Don't worry, they make a lot of them daily. Their scones are great as well, oh how I miss this place already! What are you waiting for? check out this bakery, you will not be disappointed! Another great gem in the heart of Canada.

If you go to the Forks , this bakery is a must try place. Once you go there, definitely order their cinnamon bun because it is one of the most classic spot-on cinnamon bun you will have. I usually will bring it home and toast the cinnamon bun, and it is a real special treat.

I cannot say enough when it comes to this bakery. I live half an hour away, and make a trip to the forks specifically for the bakery a few times a week now. The cookies are great (especially the lemon). The brownies are AMAZING! Large and in charge. But not TOO sweet. So you can eat two without feeling sick. Heck. Maybe even three! And the cinnamon buns are incredible! People scoop those things up so fast. I can only imagine how many they sell per day. I always FEEL good after eating there. Like I'm doing my body a favour. I believe I am! I love supporting local businesses. And I'll be their number one fan until I move to Quebec. I'll have to get someone to ship some goodies to me every so often ???? Don't miss out on these guys! Everything is good. Everyone is nice. And the prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of work they put into the food.

Excellent cinnamon buns bread is OK nothing special in my opinion.

Some of the best croissants I can find in the city, and the smell of fresh bread is mouth-wateringly delicious.

I do love their cinnamon buns

Bakery is excellent. Great location and the sticky buns are incredible.

Staff are always great, best cheese croissants in THE WORLD

I always get a fresh cinnamon bun from this bakery when visiting Winnipeg. It has been consistent quality for years and years. The shop front is very tidy and the staff friendly.

The baked goods are tasty. Staff is friendly. However, I would like to try their sandwiches and salads but since I'm allergic to bell peppers I can't. Everything has red peppers in it. I've reached out to them on a couple occasions to ask if they can make them with another vegetable but they advised I should special order instead. I don't think so. Are the peppers a necessary ingredient? Do they worry they will lose business if there are no peppers in their salads and sandwiches? Nightshade allergies are not uncommon.

Literally everything here is delicious! I always end up splurging whenever I visit :)

Tasty bison chili with slaw and corn bread. Excellent taste!

I’m a sucker for bakeries. And this place does not disappoint! If you love cinnamon buns you must try these! If you don’t like cinnamon buns well then you must be crazy.

Picked up some Borscht and Perogies for an easy dinner. Was shocked when I realized the borscht cost $12 and barely fed two of us... certainly not “cheap as borscht”. The perogies fell apart when cooked according to directions and were filled with chunks of unpeeled potatoes!!

Over priced and not value for money!

Great Cinnamon buns

One of the places I really love at the Forks Market. Huge variety of freshly baked goods and other very tasty products. Clean, with a very helpful and polite staff.

Great bakery!

Excellent food, great people, fresh baking, excellent coffee. Love stopping here when visiting in Winnipeg.

Tasty treats with warm staff

Nothing on this earthly realm can compare to a fresh, still warm Tall Grass cinnamon bun.

Excellent pastry, bread & good coffee. Good customer service.

Delicious cinnamon buns and soup was wonderful. Thank you!

Tall Grass Prairie is a shining gem in Winnipeg. Most ingredients are locally sourced, the service is quick and friendly, and they’re accommodating of dietary restrictions. The cinnamon buns are out of this world, too!

Good

I had the cheese stick and croissant. Very impressed and liked them. Would definitely come back again.

(Translated) At 7 a.m. a fresh cheese croissant ???? with delicious filter coffee so every day can begin. All of the pieces look delicious and the service is super friendly ???? (Original) Um 7 Uhr morgens ein frische Käse Croissant ???? mit leckerem Filterkaffee so kann jeder Tag anfangen. Alle Stückchen sehen super lecker aus und der Service super freundlich ????

Great cinnamon buns and they use a lot of locally grown grains. They even have a poster that shows which farms in Manitoba provide them their really ingredients.

Fresh bread every morning.

So tasty, especially the cinnamon buns!

Good sopping mall

Was disappointed the sandwiches were just pre made in cellophane wrap in a display case. Also soup in cardboard bowl and plastic spoon took away from what I expected.

The staff is so friendly and kind and the baking itself is to die for! Those cinnamon buns are a must have! And sourdough!

They got this new game room, a few different games available. The room is pretty small, but it works. Also new furnitures to sit.

Nice

Best cinnamon bun in the world????

I used to work there and I love everything about this place! The smell of fresh hot bread coming out of the oven, mmmmm

Beautiful baguette. A tad dissapointed by the cinnamon rolls

Great food

Love the atmosphere. Was there feb22 2018 at 2.45pm. People in line waited patiently because they knew it was well worth it. Btw a man in the line forgot something ;) FB

The best cinnamon buns! Amazing lunch sandwiches too. Highly recommend everything!

Love Tall Grass Prairie so much ! Cinnamon buns to die for ! Excellent quality fresh food. We Love supporting local businesses. Staff is so friendly and helpful.

Croissants!

Very nice bakery. Authentic, fresh, aromatic and huge selection of buns and bread. Make sure you try cinnamon buns.

Like some of the breads and "sweets". They make nice pies.

Absolutely love their cinnamon buns. Very sweet!

I've tried their their Plain Croissant, Cheese Croissant, Coffee Cake, Scone, Multigrain bread and I must say everything was fantastic. I think all the things they sell are awesome. I love it!!!

Vegan date square and vegan Morning Glory (carrot raisin sunflower) muffin were both excellent. Recommended!

While i agree with most of the reviews on here regarding flavor of the bread (it is great) the prices are outrageous for the quantities provided. I'm sorry, but this isn't a Vancouver market, it's Winnipeg. $16+tax for 6 Cinnamon buns is insane.

Great place, worth visiting for items made from grains produced locally. Cinnamon bun is yummy and speciality. From distance one can make out from fragrance. Staff very courteous, ready to help you, give you all information about items. In forks shopping Center many shops of unique items. This shop is gem of Manitoba.

Customer service was great, food looked tasty, cinnamon bun was disappointing.

Their cinnamon croissants might just be be the best. Always a happy feeling to go to this lovely bakery.

The best bakery in Winnipeg for bread and pastries. Tall Grass gets grains typically found in Manitoba from local farmers, and then Tall Grass employees grind the grain into flour. Their sour dough loaves are all made from starters, and their breads are baked overnight. All products are made with locally sourced ingrediants with no added preservatives.

Amazing selection wonderful staff!

Very good cinnamon buns!

Great place, tasty food! Love coming here, i get the "Dill-icious" potato salad almost every other day for lunch now! Love the wide variety of foods and i especially like the vegetarian/vegan options! What a wonderful staff, always helpful and kind! Would definitely recommend eating here. 10/10????

Tried a cinnamon bun, turns out it's actually a piece of multi grain bread with cinnamon flavour on it.

Nice selection of bakery items. Poppyseed lemon cake is so tasty. Breads dry out really quickly. (Undecided if this bad or good.) Great coffee. Absolutely wonderful sandwiches.

Best cinnamon buns in Winnipeg!

I love Tall Grass Prairie. I prefer the location in Wolseley, but this site is pretty good too. They have a good selection of breads, some of which are seasonal or are baked only on certain days (the potato bread is especially good when it is available). Tall Grass Prairie also has great brownies and cookies (especially the Folk Fest cookie). Their fruit pies are to die for – pricey but definitely worth it. Around thanksgiving, you can see bakers taking roasted pumpkins out of the oven as they scoop out the insides to make their next batch of pumpkins pies. You have to pay a deposit for any pie plates, but you can return it later for a refund. They also have a number of delicious cakes – chocolate with buttercream icing, carrot cake, lemon poppyseed cake, etc. I think all of their ingredients are natural, so the flavours really hit your palate.

Tried the focaccia, cheese sticks and cinnamon rolls here. All were enjoyable and tasty. A little on the pricey side but good quality.

Amazing bread!

Gluten free bread is T-e-r-r-i-b-l-e. If asked they should just say no, sorry we do not make it. The loaf had the same weight as a brick and the taste is not good. I'm sure there regular stuff is very good, although I wouldn't know

Awesome cinnamon buns!

The Cheese Croissant are to die for. There always super friendly. The prices are moderate. Every thing you can buy there is made with the freshest and healthiest ingredients. I love this place.

Purchased a chocolate cake the day of an event at work. The cake was regular priced but, definitely was at least a week old. It was highly embarrassing as the cake was not fresh and after a bite most people left it on their plate.

Love it

Spouse bought the cinnamon buns.. dear god we're they sub par.. the white flour/whole wheat makes them have a weird texture.. the fact they use margarine is insulting to actual bakers.. they also some how have next to no flavor. The only plus is they were moist but even IKEA's cinnamon buns are more enjoyable to eat

One of my favourite bakeries in the city. Their Cinnamon Buns are my absolute favourite and their Carrot Cake is outstanding. This bakery has me coming back time and time again.

Croissants and scones are the best.

Everything is good. My favourite cakes.. not too sweet.

Absolutely love their cinnamon buns.. best ever..

This is the place to go for fresh baked goods whether you want sweet or savory.
