Cute little bakery shop with variety of sweets and very cute little mini cakes. If you go at the end of the day - you might not have much selections to choose from. They have good coffee selections as well.

Ordered a last-minute birthday cake and it turned out beautifully. The cake was delicious and not dry (unlike many commercial cakes I’ve had), and the decoration was stunning. Will definitely be supporting this local business in future.

I had called a day in advance to order cupcakes, was told to call first thing in the morning because they weren’t taking early orders due to being busy and I could place a hold on what I needed first thing in the morning. I called as soon as they opened and was told they weren’t doing orders at all and there was now a line up outside. In other words, I was lied to. I would have been there first thing, if told. But now I start work too soon to wait in line and can’t go. It’s Mother’s Day tomorrow (they are closed) and I won’t be able to get my order. When I brought this to their attention, there was no offer of a solution, just “sorry that happened”. I’m disappointment in their customer service and how they handled this situation. I understand that they are busy, but that doesn’t excuse poor customer service.

I absolutely love it here, they have the most delicious sugar cookies that I've found in Winnipeg as well as very tasty shortbread. Also adding to the experience is their super friendly service. My husband ordered my birthday cake from Lilac Bakery last week, very last minute *cue eye roll* BUT Lilac was able to bake the most beautiful chocolate salted caramel cake SAME DAY for pick up. THIS THING WAS HUGE and delicious! Not only did it look beautiful, but it was so tasty and moist. WOW. Lilac Bakery - round of applause to you!

I purchased 6 ginger molasses cookies for $12, only to discover that they were excessively salty from the first bite. Pretty disappointing for a high end bakery. You can't share overly salted cookies like that with elderly people who have health problems or with anyone for that matter if they don't taste right. There was no warning on the label that salt was/is used, and too much salt at that. I ended up buying some great ones at the Starbuck's on Taylor, and throwing out the ones from Lilac Bakery.

Delicious squares and cookies, however my interactions with the owner have left a sour taste in my mouth. Was in to pick up an order placed by a friend, the owner was rude - barking orders at me, and was very short with me in interactions. I understand the stress of Covid, and I always try to do my part in maintaining proper distance but I suggest the owner properly wear his mask.

1 of my top 3 favorite bakeries in the city, there is no bad thing to have or try here! Everything is delicious, made with top of the line (and where they can), local ingredients. My personal favorite is their chocolate cake with chocolate icing, it really is the perfect chocolate cake!

Their cakes, exquisite and decadent, cupcakes, perfect ratio of icing to cake, squares are all a dream, and many a throwback to decades earlier. Chris, the owner is a lovely person and has always been so welcoming to our family. We no longer live in the 'hood yet continue to make this our go to bakery for the sheer deliciousness and consistency.
