boxed my cake in one box instead of 2 even though i ordered two pieces for 2 separate people. it was a whole mess. came back to the store as they said they would give me another piece but i drove all the way for nothing, as their excuse was there were two pieces in the one box. just improper and i missed out on my cake. probably will get my schmoo elsewhere that will give an appropriate number of boxes for number of pieces ordered so everyone can enjoy their cake.

The staff is friendly and efficient, even at the lunch time rush, they still had my sandwich ready quickly! If you havent tried the chicken salad yet, you must... especially on multigrain! Awful customer service! Takes forever to make everything and rude manager. I was there with a friend recently and she ordered a chicken burger, 15 minutes later chicken fingers were given to her. She tells the worker that she ordered a chicken burger, to which the worker responds: "we will remake it". The worker takes the chicken fingers back and we waited another 15 minutes for the burger. The was no care for the customer's time.

What a treat! Terrifically indulgent tarts and slices and macroons. Very friendly staff. Nice, quiet atmosphere. And get this, if you ask for water to drink, they don't try to sell you a bottle of water. They give you an actual cup of water. No plastic bottle wasted here. Yay!

I went there for the first time today. I bought a lovely cherry bread which was the most delicate shade of pink with a slight sweetness but not overly sweet. I also bought two cheese scones that were yummy. Excellent, fresh baking. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Will absolutely be back.

I've had baked goods from here on occasion, my wife likes their goods, but I am rarely with her when her rounds take her into this area, however today we were on Pembina so we popped in to see what they had, and to check out the day-old shelf. They do sandwiches, ice cream, I think I saw a soup menu and, of course, lots of baked goods. We grabbed the half-price cherry pie and raisin bread and then went looking at what else they had. Picked up a plain croissant to check out against the competition and some sourdough as well. The raisin bread toasts up really nicely, and the cherry pie was lovely. A bit smaller than commercial Safeway maybe, but for a retired couple it's a perfect size. Saving the croissant comparison till tomorrow. All in all, a really nice place, prices are a bit high, but for fresh baked goods are pretty reasonable. I'll definitely make time to pop in whenever I'm in the neighbourhood.

In a place where people buy cakes from supermarket chains for their convenience, Cottage Bakery showed why custom made cakes are far better in quality, taste, and sentimental value. The staffs working in the bakery are so nice and they want to help you. First of all, I was late in ordering as you need to give them 2 days prior notice for special ordered cakes. But, they understood my situation and actually they agreed to make the cake on 1 day advance notice. That showed the human nature in the establishment. The cake, it was so beautifully made. It was simple and elegant. As I tend to judge a place (bakeries) from simple chocolate cakes, I was quite satisfied the quality they gave me in that cake. The instructions were followed clearly and after it was cut open, the layers were made beautifully. Now the taste, it was so good. As I said supermarket cakes may be half the price but their taste is all so horrible. This cake had the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolate flavor with the natural hint of natural bitterness which you get from better quality chocolate products. The Frosting was light and fluffy and not at all greasy. So, in short, the staffs are friendly, they give you good quality products and the store is really clean. I don't know what you want more from bakeries but if these are the things you look for, please.do visit them. They are amazing.

I feel like this place feels incredible. At a time when restaurants have prepackaged deserts and we are home eating prepackaged deserts. This place is a breath of fresh air. Can’t wait to have coffee and cake with a friend inside. Everything looked great but got the raisin pie. It was for my father in law who loves old Timie pies. He said it was a 7 out of 10 and that bc it was a little dry. I don’t love raisin pie and scored it at a 4. However loved the treats and the vibe.

My favorite local joint by far. They've got recommendations for the foodies out there that will have you dancing. New styles all the time, they cater, coffee to sate any epicurean out there, and prices from the 90's - seriously the best value in the city. Also, they're supporters of the local arts, not for self promoting or advertising themselves; just because they happen to be community oriented. Very rare type a shop, I love my bakery!

I think Cottage Bakery is my favourite coffee shop in the city. I love love love the atmosphere. Staff are always friendly, food and drinks are classic small-town fare. My favourite place to catch up with a friend or two over a coffee and sandwich. Not sure if I return to Winnipeg to visit my uni friends or if it’s just so I can pay a visit to Cottage.

Grew up in the neighbourhood, and my mom bought their baked goods and bread growing up. Now in their 1382 Pembina location, I have gone for breakfast and lunch and have shared with friends, everyone loves it! They have tasty treats, great bread, yummy sandwiches and soups; paired well with their awesome selection of beverages from teas to latte's (both available iced as well) and more. Love to support local and love the friendly helpful staff that work there!

This is by far amongst the top bakeries in the city. Everything tastes so fresh and delicious. I enjoy their macarons, cakes, and imperial cookies. I have also ordered a pecan pie from them which tasted incredible. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Have returned to this bakery after an absence of too many years. The quality of the slices, tarts and all of the desserts are truly wonderful. Products used (real cream ,butter and obviously all the ingredients are first class. The only complaint I have is that this bakery is so good that my vehicle turns into the parking lot all by itself.

This is an awesome place. It seems like more and more, the corner bakerys are going out of business. This place is full of good pastry, though, and lots of good people work here too. I like to go in here for fresh croissant. Especially the chocolate ones.

Yes went there today February 11/20 my mom had a home care worker as she dying of stage 4 brain cancer wanted to surprise her! Was in about 4:45 p.m. I can look on banking at exact time. Bought 2 items one was a coconut cake that was awesome! The other was a chocolate eclair cost around 9 bucks the eclair was as hard as a rock stuck in fridge in a zip lock bag. Used debit glad I did not tip as the jar says show me the dough ????‍♀️????‍♀️ BAD

Great find! I have been flying to Winnipeg on business and only discovered this bakery a couple of years ago. They have very good coffee. I have tried their delicious Panini sandwiches and the desserts are just incredible. Everything is fresh!

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. There are usually tables open if you want to study or hang out for a while. Unlike many "independent" bakeries, they really do make most stuff in house, and you can taste the difference. The owners are also really sweet and accommodating.

My all time favourite pie is Saskatoon berry pie I get one for my birthday every year because I don’t like cake since my grandmother died I don’t have anyone to make it for me so my girlfriend got me one from this bakery sadly it was one of the worst pies I have ever had I can’t believe they had the audacity to charge her $14 for it

They have good stuff there, but they don't know how to pack take out stuff. I got banana with Nutella croissant and spinach croissant and they put all in the same box. At home I had spinach croissant with chocolate in it. If you are taking stuff out, be specific in how you want sorted out.

One of my favourite bakeries in Winnipeg. I really like their lemon poppy seed loaf. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I try to stop by any time I'm in the neighborhood. You can enjoy their treats in their cafe, or pick up what you like for home.

Top notch! I went in searching for Date Squares. Cottage Bakery did not dissapoint. The Date Squares along with Rhubarb Squares and thier Imperial Cookies were all enjoyed and raved about with my coffee pals. Fresh fare and their crumb topping is something special!

Pretty ok food but the service is poor. Owners seem nice but really need to train their wait staff!!! Server took my order at the counter and just walked away with the p o.s. beeping in my hand and didn't provide me with a receipt. When she brought me my burger, she didnt bring cutlery. I kindly asked for a glass of water as well as a fork, knife, and a napkin... she sighed and returned with the cutlery and water but no napkin. I again asked for a napkin, and with her back turned to me she just pointed to a solitary dispenser across the room and said "they are right there."... then walked away. I work in the area, won't be going back!!!

The pastries are delicious, however, the dark roast coffee did taste burnt and cigarette-like. I drink my coffee black, but it would probably be good if it was masked with cream and sugar. My wife enjoyed her cottage roast coffee.

I drove across the city yesterday to pick up two blueberry pies for my son's birthday. I drove to this location based on the reviews. It ends up that all of us were so disappointed in these pies. These were probably the worst pies we've ever had they are so cheaply made. $11, driving time and gas. Such a waste. Felt horrible to that this is the pie I served for my son's birthday. You're better off going to Superstore or Sobeys and that's no exaggeration at all, they make much better pies there than this place.

Amazing place - the cakes are SO GOOD!! Definitely a hidden gem. Cafe is really cozy and relaxing place to sit, also has a patio. We often get fresh bread from here - cheaper than Safeway! The cream filled pastries have the same quality as Paris. Absolutely you should give this place a try.
