Overall, Jo-Ann's is maybe too all-encompassing -- after all, they seem to have *everything* -- to have a spectacular bakery section. Both items were good, but lacking that something to make them super. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"

Stopped here while down along the south shore, was surprised at the amount of selection they had.. Everything from indian samosas to ice cream and sweets. We had samosas and ice cream and it was great. The staff were very nice and if I hadnt of just ate supper I would have loaded up on some more stuff.. Their sweets looked delicious. Prices were a bit high with a rice crispie square of a decent size was 5$ same with their nanaimo squares which looked delicious, just a bit pricey. All in all I would go stop in again as it was a good atmosphere with lots of selection.

Great sandwiches. Don't expect speedy service though, they're slow even on a calm day. Back again, and another twenty minute wait for a sandwich. Time to make some changes folks. Again, great food, just terribly and inexplicably slow.

I bought an Applewood smoked sausage roll, and a coffee, it tasted fine.... not too long after I became violently ill. The service kinda sucked, I stood around waiting to order while the girls behind the counter talked amongst themselves. I felt like I was burdening them when I ordered. I probably wouldn't go back..... On the plus side, it does smell good in there.

Wow....this place looks and smells amazing. Ample places to sit...but no parking. You have to walk to it but it was worth it. Wheelchair ramp in the front.

One of the worst sandwich's I have ever had. Overpriced lunch special with a stale baguette, 2tbs of chutney and barely a proper slice of cheese. Definitely takes advantage of their great location with subpar food.

Normally a four star review, a bit pricey and salty, but a lovely place to sit and enjoy a yummy snack or meal. Today would be a zero star though as the owner decided to close early... Unimpressed as that is not how you run a business.

I was going to give this place a good review- although it is quite expensive, the food was pretty good. However, after dropping $50 for lunch for two adults and one child, they told us we would also have to pay for a cardboard box to put our child's leftovers in. Absolutely ridiculous...if we had ordered it to go in the first place there would have been no charge! Skipped dessert because we didn't want to give them anymore business, used to come here at least once every summer, will not be back.

Jo-Ann's is a cute little market style shop in Mahone Bay with a little of something for every appetite, especially those with a sweet tooth! I've had savory and sweet treats here, and by far the sweets are the standout. A friend professes that their pies are the best they've ever had! While I'm a little biased towards another source, all dessert lovers will find a place in their hearts for Jo-Ann's. Note that the outdoor patio is lovely, and there is a washroom on site, even though it doesn't look like it!

Great variety of items in this store - pies, tarts, squares and various foods. We bought a blueberry pie which was very tasty and also had samples of the squares which were excellent. Good and friendly service as well! Nice bakery to stop into for sure if you are in the Lunenburg/Mahone area.

Absolutely loved this quaint cafe. The people working it were friendly beyond friendly. The guest were helpful, friendly and made you feel welcomed instantly. Great food, wonderful atmosphere and what a way to start your day... morning coffee in a beautiful setting off the bay. A must visit if in the Mahone bay area.

Jo-Ann's cinnamon rolls are the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever had. The package says they're made with love and you can taste it! I look forward to walking to Noggins Corner Farm Market everyday at lunch to get one.

The NS apples we purchased are mushy, which is surprising for this time of year. It's like they are selling last year's apples. Considering we just had some fresh ones in Berwick we were pretty disappointed.

Had a nice little meal, but when we requested the use of the restroom to freshen up, we were directed to use the public restrooms about 100m down and across the street. I thought all establishments that serve food had to provide a restroom for their customers. Apparently the staff member I talked to was having a bad day because she was not very pleasant in her refusal.

Very interesting, a bit like dining at the cottage -- with friends. The food is amazing. We had tomato basil quiche, chicken pot pie, smoked sausage and finished with some prett great desserts. Very reasonable prices. Definitely coming back
