(Translated) The original blue-nose sailboat was designed by William Rueh and built at the Smith and Rhuland shipyards in Lunenburg. She was launched in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia on March 26, 1921. It was both a fishing sailboat and a racing boat. This is aimed at the failure of a caravan Nova Scotia ship built by the Halifax Herald in 1920 for work in the race of international fishermen.

The event of our summer vacation! A three hour morning cruise in excellent windy conditions was a blast. Crew were fantastic, knowledgeable and ever present for questions and to help. Advice: 1) Dress for cooler the expected conditions. 2)Book early (months seriously) as space for only 67 passengers and large waiting list and walkups turned away.

My wife, daughter and I drove from Greenwood to see this beautiful ship. We were not disappointed we were able to board and take pictures in front of her iconic bow. Our only regret is not being able to sail on her serving as one of the deckhands. Hopefully next year. My family has had a love for this ship all my life as she is known as "the pride of Nova Scotia" and we are proud "Bluenosers" thank you for keeping as I remember.

John Reidy

Awesome experience! If you haven't sailed on the Bluenose 2, go and do it!! I took my wife on a cruise out of Halifax Harbour this June. She hadn't ever been on a sailboat and we had an amazing time! The cruise was a great adventure, the crew were fantastic and we have a shared memory for all our lives. If this isn't on you bucket list, put it on! This is a wonderful piece of Canadian history, and you can be a part of it all. I highly recommend the Bluenose 2 cruise, and encourage everyone to get out there.

The reproduction of the iconic racing fishing boat is a beautifully kept vessel in a breathtaking setting. Although we saw it without sails up, it is still a stunning boat - well worth visiting!

It's a boat, honestly the construction of the blue noes two was a low point for the Nova Scotia ship building community.
