You have all the feddbacks of real people who used the products of LaHave Bakery (Bakery) near to the territory of Liverpool (Canada).
Nowadays the business gets a score of 4.6 over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings that it reaches is basically the best one, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we may think that the rating is very faithful. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Bakery belongs to the category of Bakery.
Love their lunch and bakery.
the best.
This place is a little gem.! They have got all the goodies.! Wonderful beverages and friendly staff..!!
A trendy place.
It has been a long time since I was there (like, before Google+ existed...before facebook even) But from my very good memory of food, BEST BAKERY EVER. They also have the most delicious fresh baked mini pizzas I have ever had. I'm going on a business trip to LaHave in a couple days and I hope to have a chance to stop in and get some delicious baked goods.
Destination bakery. Worth it.
Very small bakery, not good selection
Amazing selection of breads and pastries from the bakery and a really nice variety of options from the kitchen. This is a true gem. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We even asked for a quick peek into the bakery to see where all the magic happens. They where more than accommodating and very friendly. Take the cable ferry to LaHave and make sure you stop here.
Grew up in the area my whole life and the historical LaHave Bakery is certainly a great part to what makes the South Shore wonderful. Good vibes here.
Really,really good
Unique atmosphere, amazing treats!
A great stopping place for coffee, food, baked goods and some amazing local art and crafts.
A must-see bakery and lunch spot on the LaHave River, right next to the cable ferry. Coffee is good. A wide variety of baked goods. The oatcakes are very good. Hot lunch options also available. The bakery is also a visual feast, with hand-lettered signs, interesting things for sale (always fun to browse a Grohman knife display), and knick-knacks everywhere. The building also hosts a lovely handicrafts store and a skateboard factory.
I hate the wait, but those spicy cheddar scones are worth it every time.
Quality baked goods
Fantastic food and great atmosphere on the shore of the river.
People are wonderful. The bread is fantastic!
Amazing food and maratime spirit
Excellent soup
Great pastries
Beautiful bakery with delicious coffee and treats!
Loved the food
Tasty hot sandwiches, coffee and pastries. The store is kept in cozy rustical style, as a historical building. There's a reading club in a basement with reading evenings. Very friendly people and tasty food.
Grand old building with nice nooks for reading. Bread baked for every taste even some without dairy and eggs.
Taken from a passage of time and surounded by local fishery history, the Lahave Bakery offers an eclectic experience of local fair and great baked goods. Their menue, simple and balanced, includes sandwiches, paninos and great burgers. Enjoy a conversation with the staff to discover the area... A must stop when in the Bridgewater area.
Center of life in this South Shore artistic community. The bookstore, restaurants, galleries, pier, and friendly ambience make this a welcome place to visit for good grub.
Unbelievable bakery!
Many things combined into one fascinating building on the LaHave river. Great food and plenty of history.
(Translated) Is a very Nice place !! Lovely and the food is delicious ❤️ A beautiful place, in front of the coast, with very good food and people are very kind to assist you, down the stairs there is a bookstore with very interesting things and view to the coast from the windows. (Original) Is a very Nice place!! Lovely and the food is delicious ❤️ Un lugar hermoso, enfrente de la costa, con comida muy buena y las personas son muy amables al atenderte, bajando las escaleras hay una librería con cosas muy interesantes y vista a la costa desde las ventanas.
“Self appointed cop” at the door just did it for me...
Excellent bakery. Love the rustic feel, very friendly staff!
I love this place. Excellent bread, excellent food served to local families as well as to passing bikers. More than just a bakery though. Restaurant, gift shop, bookshop, wonderful view on the river and the boats. Whatever the season, it's a feast.
Delicious sandwich. Great bakery.
Famous for a reason. Has been a good place to get baked goods and lunch my whole life!
What an amazing little gem in a place you would least expect it. Right by the Lehave Cable Ferry. They make all their breads fresh from scratch. They actually mill their own flour there. We just stopped in for a drink and some afternoon nibblies after leaving Rissers Beach. I would say this is a must stop even just to see what a great quaint little bakery it is and smell the fresh bread, pasteries and coffee. Had a delicious espresso here and some fresh out of the oven pizza. Little personal size portions. The dough was so soft and delicious. Sorry I didn't get any photos of the inside but shared some out side of the bakery where you can enjoy your goodies from the bakery. I must drop in if you are in the area.
So many delicious baked treats! And more. Cool little spot in all. Had a London fog and soup of the day. Drink was great! Soup was aight’
A must see. Each floor offers something different. There's the famous bakery on the ground floor with seating inside and out. Home made cakes, pies and treats aplenty and great coffee. There's a book shop at the back, a gallery on the first floor and a skate park at the top. That's right, a skate park. They make skateboards up there too and if you ask nicely you can have a look at how skateboards are made and how the designs are printed on to the board. The vibe here is so chilled, you won't want to leave. Especially when you walk out to the back and see the views! Amazing. I could move to LeHave Bakery tomorrow and live there happily for the rest of my life.
Very charming building. Good coffee and great view on LaHave river.
I would eat the roast chicken sandwhich from here literally 365 days a year if I could
Love this quaint, historic treasure. No end to the goodness. The coffee is fabulous and the lemon squares will blow your mind!!!
Great place to visit friendly staff great food.
Really great spot! This is a must-visit for any coastal roadtrip or weekend adventure!
We usually stop in here after a day of kayaking. Everything is good. We have bought some of their frozen pre-done meals and they have been great to.
Nice spot. Great sweets and coffee. It beautiful interior.
The coffee was amazing, and all the baked goods were home made. Well worth the price, friendly and welcoming staff.
Stopped for lunch and coffee. Food was
Friendly staff and super nice coffee mugs
Amazing. If you like good food, it is worth the trek. There is also a great bookstore in the basement.
Always excellent.
Rustic, unique atmosphere we great coffee and lox bagels. Not very much seating unfortunately.
I'd move to LaHave just for this bakery.
Friendly
So sweet
You might have to wait for your lunch order, but it’s worth it. And when it’s ready, go sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The Herb and Cheese bread, the oatcakes: nostalgic and amazing.
Bread and butternut squash was great! Homey atmosphere, and good customer service.
Country style bakery, baked goods and groceries. Local good stuff to eat. Can't beat the location and views on the lahave river. Historical building surrounded by art galleries.
Excellent pastries and breads
Actually didn't buy a single thing here... So cannot attest to the actual food. But the vibe and the building are awesome. Must stop even if just to browse.
The service was good, fresh and very good homemade sandwiches. Had to wait over 15 for 2 sandwiches and it was a quiet time of the day.
Very cozy old style place
Homegrown skateboards is here... Support your local skate shop.
Wonderful old fashion bakery, very good and healthy food. Stop for lunch!
Old bakery good atmosfer
Great food and scenic surroundings.
Beautiful and quaint. Great coffee and amazing scones!
I agree with other poster: best bakery ever. Great coffee too. Fortunately, you don't have to drive all the way down there to get their amazing breads, but it's well worth the trip. You can find the more popular loaves in some large grocery stores in the natural foods section, if not sold out!
Beautiful place. Friendly staff. Way expensive.
Great food and customer service but prices bit high.
I love the atmosphere and getting here is fun.
Some of my best memories of Nova Scotia are sitting on the pier at the bakery w/ a Scone and Coffee. Watching the river and clouds move across the sky on a sunny day is food for the soul. And that delish coffee and scone soul food for the tummy.
Delicious baked goods
Bought some scones here after eating a delicious breakfast. Will certainly come back next time I'm in the area.
Cute building with a lovely view. The BEST bagels in Nova Scotia! Get there early or they will be sold out! Great bread and treats with friendly staff. Their nanaimo bars are to die for. You absolutely have to try them if you are in the area. It's also worth stopping in just to tour the old building, there is some neat architecture in that old place.
GREAT little place to have a snack and great views
Chad was a pleasant young man who took my order for a birthday ???? cake.
Great stopping place...only stopping place on west side of river.
The breakfast wrap was delicious but the side of bacon was very thin and overcooked so it crumbled when I tried to pick it up.
They have the best everything!
Those cheese scones were so tasty!
Great food and a great experience
An absolute must-see for anyone passing through Nova Scotia's Atlantic Coast! More than just a bakery! Conveniently located near the Cape LeHave ferry (free for pedestrians and cyclists), which is also worth a ride!
The best bakery in Nova Scotia!
Americano was amazing
<3
Have a cottage nearby so have been going here for years. It's been a steady decline over the years though with ever increasing prices and wait times with a steady decline in quality. Was there last weekend on two separate days and both times espresso was under extracted and milk for cappuccino was just boiling hot with no froth at all. They shoved the steaming wand to bottom of milk picture which is absolutely not how to prepare milk for a cappuccino. Was awful taste.
So good. Visited Sept 21 2016 after camping at Rissers. Had grilled panini muffins coffee and it was delicious. Bought mustard there as well. Delicious!! So friendly. Love reading the history on the walls of this quaint restaurant.
Just beyond lovely! Definitely worth a visit!
Awesome little bakery with a great brunch
Sweet place to stop for a great cup of coffee and a delicious treat from their bakery. Added bonus is an art studio upstairs and a skateboard bowl.
Very nice ambience and decor. The breakfast wrap and eggs benedict was good. Prices are slightly above average probably due to heavy tourist area.
Go early, it's a sell out
Great ambiance and good food.
Delicious!
Coffee and a treat while watching the traffic - can't go wrong
Deliciously delightful
I take a pottery class next door at Westcote Bell Pottery then stop in for a bite to eat and some chit-chat ... It's a happening place!!
Pretty good food
Excellent selection of bread and pastries. Good coffee too
So worth the trip to LaHave. Herb & Cheese buns a must. Everything really.
This place was fantastic! It was way beyond any expectations that I had. Great coffee and chicken burrito thing.
This restaurant was recommended to me for breakfast and I have to say that it was a major disappointment. There were only two choices, a $4.50 bagel with cream cheese or the b wrap for $14.00. We choose the b wraps which were ok but not tasty enough they I would get another one. Where I was most disappointed was the absolute lack of service. Full of kitsch to appear down home you had to order at the counter, get your own coffee ($1 to refill it yourself), they give you a gizmo they buzzed so you would come back to the counter to get your own meal (which was 6 feet from where we were sitting), and you are expected to bus your own table, also sorting the recyclables. Having grown up in a restaurant family and having worked at that restaurant I can't abide poor service and that is what this spot provided. Won't be back. The dead flower in the vase about summed up our experience here. Didn't get any but the baked goods looked tasty.
My wife and I had lunch there today, wonderful helpful staff and great food. I bought some pies to take hike and the coconut curry chicken pies is wonderful.
Definitely a go-to spot when visiting the South Shore!! Delicious baked goods, indoor seating plus a nice outdoor seating area in the summer facing the water.
This place feels like home :) the staff are always really sweet and helpful, the location (inside and outside) is amazing, and oh my gosh the food is so good. It's organized really well (seperate counters for fancy drinks, desserts and baked goods, and the great food they serve) with an almost tiny-market-like vibe. The only difficult thing about this place is that it's so busy everytime I go, it's crazy! Even though it's mildly annoying, to me that just proves how worth it this place really is. Keep up the great work.
It's healthy, local and just downright yummy!
We tied up at the dock for some good snacks and coffee.
Every visit to Lahave Bakery, no matter the season, is always special. You will be hard pressed to find a better or more charming bakery in your travels. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy and the smell of freshly baked bread will make you want to stay all day. Whether you're stocking your cupboards or just grabbing a quick lunch, Lahave Bakery is the place for you.
Delicious food, but very expensive. Very crowded with not much seating, but great for take out!
A bit pricey for my taste. Very nice establishment however. Great for a coffee and cookies, squares, etc.
Just popped in after crossing the cable ferry. Best coffee I've had in a while. Carrot cake was scrumptious, wish we could have gone back again but ran out of time in the area.
Wow - haven't been here in a few years. The service and the food is amazing. Great location with tables outside and epic view
The scones at this bakery are SOOOO incredible. I literally would drive from Halifax N.S. just to get these to feed my craving. Ever since I had a scone at this bakery I cannot stop thinking about them. If you are wondering if it's worth the drive and little ferry when you are visiting Lunenburg, I can assure you that it is 100% worth it.
Great organic baked goods.
One of the gems of the South Shore. Don't miss it. Great for lunch or coffee.
Food is good. Breads are fresh and well made. Inside table is not easy to maneuver around. A better system of dirty dish collection other than next to the dining table would be a huge improvement.
amazing spot... do yourself a favor and stop in here!
Nice place like going back in time. A lot of old books and furnitures that have been there since the 1940's. Try the Portobello mushroom burger, it really is good.
Underwhelming experience, dirty, grubby, sloooow service and expensive. Meh...
Good baked goods but tea and coffee not worth it. Over priced
We always bring friends and family who visit from away here after hopping on the cable ferry on our way back from a visit to Lunenburg. The atmosphere is amazing and the food and treats are phenomenal. Sometimes we drive from NQ just to grab the spelt or potato breads.
Great spot and so many delicious looking options.
Great destination spot, though food and bread are rather so/so. But it's by the water and the ferry and well worth the stop.
Delicious homemade breads, preserves, coffee, sandwiches, and desserts. There is a small market with local produce and a coffee shop with breakfast sandwiches. The kitchen can be a bit slow if you order a sandwich but you can sit outside and watch the boats on the water while you wait or visit the art coop gallery next door.
I love it here!!
Expensive but very tasty
Love their bread. By it nearly every week at Superstore.
Bread and treats are always delicious! Plus enjoy the sound of the waves out on the dock.
Good bread.
Good food but very busy!
Fantastic coffee, fruit drinks, bread and other bakery munchies. They have a dock that you can pull your boat up to and for a small fee you can mood overnight and use the shower in the morning.
Everything there is amazing! I can't say anything negative (except for when they run out of their cheese and herb bread)????
This bakery is one of my favourite places to visit when I'm in Nova Scotia. The food is always amazing (I personally think they have the best bagels) and everyone is always so kind. There is also a lot of sitting room inside as well as some chairs out front, a picnic table around the side and a few chairs on the wharf around back. If you're in the area (or not) I highly recommend visiting LaHave Bakery!
Quaint little bakery / cafe/ restaurant with decent food but an odd eat-in area. The problem I have is the cleanliness. Water glasses appeared to be rinsed not washed, the tables were full of crumbs, the self-bussing (I have no problem with this) area was filthy though. The kicker for me was the area near the front of the shop where there are some brochures and kids books was really quite dirty. It's not an obvious place to clean but leave it to a child to find it. I left feeling icky - not satisfied.
Great little place.
Great place, great people. Everything is fresh and excellent quality.
One of the reasons I drove all the way from Halifax to Lunenberg
Fresh, local food. Get it while you can! This place is always packed with people and there are a ton of fresh baked goods to choose from.
A very unique shop with a mix of retail items for sale (jams, mugs, bread, and pastries) and coffee/meals to dine it or take out. The inside is very small and cramped so they have picnic tables and chairs throughout the side of the building to help with overflow. The service was pretty forgettable, the food was also slow, around 20 minutes for three meals, and the prices were high considering it was a grab & go type. However, the meals were delicious and hot. Overall, the experience was enough for me to want to go back with a beautiful view of the River and a funky and trendy atmosphere to enjoy while eating.
Amazing food. Well priced. But kinda dirty inside.
It's a lovely spot. But go EARLY. I went later afternoon on a Saturday. Not much selection left. Still it was a charming spot to visit.
Great coffee, homemade treats and friendly service!
Yummy
totally overrated, bread is not good, way too expensive
Never once disappointed with this community standby. Big ol 5
A great place to stop, eat and hangout along the Lahave.
I can only give this a 3 star rating because we got there so late in the day so not too many goodies left. I definitely want to try this place again. I heard so many good things about it!
Adorable bakery with delicious baked goods! There is a cute gift shop on the lower level with all kinds of wares from local artisans as well as a small book shop. Out back is a dock with chairs where you can enjoy your coffee and treats. We spent quite a while hanging out here and the staff were all so friendly! Take the cable ferry before or after for a great excursion!
Great spot to stop for lunch and baked goods.
Amazingly delicious food !!
One of my favourite spots to go. Fantastic food and bread. Beautiful spot. Don't miss the coop store and the book store.
Friendly staff, great food
Worth the drive. Very unique mixed use building. Can be very busy on weekends. Scones are yummy
Artisan food, fresh and delicious, quaint little dining room, and the aroma from the fresh baked goods? ........to die for
Butter tarts absolutely delicious. More than one type of bread to choose from baked daily. And the dinner is fantastic highly recommended.
Fish burger is amazing! Really nice spot to relax.
A must stop for a break or a light meal. With an emphasis on organic and fresh ingredients.
So cute good food.
Got to visit
Their cheese herb bread is to die for!!
Best place to get home baked goods in lahave
(Translated) Place of extraordinary historical richness, delicious bread (Original) Lieu d'une richesse historique extraordinaire, pain délicieux
What a wonderful place! So many good things to eat and friendly staff.
Yummy local dishes and amazing baked goods. Try the oatcakes they're the best
An interesting place to stop and have a bite to eat or pick up freshly prepared and baked breads, biscuits and cakes. From here go onwards to Crescent Beach. Take the little cable ferry so you can claim you did so.
A great day adventure from Halifax. Grab a coffee, hope in the car & have a great breakfast at LaHave Bakery. Grab a great supply of goodies from the bakery & your week supply of bread.. Then take a slow interesting drive back to Halifax on the back routes along the ocean trails. Don't forget to check out the LaHave Bookstore while you are there. Spend time watching the ocean vessels from their wharf!
Have been coming here since I was a kid and not one thing has changed. Great food, lovely atmosphere
Deliciousness abounds in a setting full of beautiful character.
Lovely bakery, with great food and fantastic setting. Great place to visit.
Good coffee, good view, good people.
This is a great little place with loads of character, friendly staff and good food. The coffee is excellent, too. They offer a great selection of little cakes and treats. Well worth a visit.
Love this spot. Extremely busy in the summer so if you're going at lunch know you're going to wait. Food is yummy and fairpriced for what you get. Oh the bread.... if you can the raisin bread is to die for. Unfortunately not always available. Great take out for a picnic at a nearby beach.
Cute bakery with a lot of history. Great coffee spot and baked goods.
$5 minimum on use of a debit card is exploitation of customers who just want a coffee and don't carry cash. The coffee by the way was excellent!
Expensive but worth it
This place is excellent. Great food, baking, and the view can't be beat.
Fantastic and beautiful hot beverages, expert baking, and fresh lunches. Worth the trip!
We always stop for some herb & cheese bread or buttermilk bread as a minimum. The lunch menu is always excellent and the desserts can't be missed.
I love to visit this bakery. The are high on using organic ingredients. The menu is limited but everything is really good. I really like their coffee, their individual sized pizzas, sausages wrapped in pastry, hamburgers and I could go on. My favourite breads are the Herb Cheese and Raisin Orange. They make a great marmalade from an old family recipe that is delicious.
(Translated) Very good and nice. (Original) Très bien et sympa.
I found their covid instructions confusing and was told different things from different staff members. It was slightly embarrassing of an experience but I understand there are growing pains with this kind of situation. Overall not a fan of their bread. It's an old school style of baking with heavy and dense outcome. If you're in the area I would suggest dropping in for a visit but not really a place I would go out of my way to visit.
Great food from sweet treats, coffees teas to breads and more...frozen foods, meats and cheeses Fresh and well worth a visit as when you do... you'll definitely come back..????
one of the most memorable and best places i visited during my trip to Nova Scotia
Super amazing selection of baked goods, treats, sandwiches and salads! Nice to see they recently included a burger menu featuring a veggie burger! Their potato bread is to die for, as well as the raspberry squares. The carrot-radish salad is my favourite! Picked up a few goodies for the drive back home to Ottawa. This little bakery is a must-stop every time. Honestly though, best bread in the world.
One-of-a-kind establishment.
Amazing baked goods and coffee.
Great coffee and baked goods but it gets a little too busy in the summer.
A lovely little shop in Lahave surrounded by pottery shops and old docks. The menu is to be desired, but the coffee and bread are definitely worth the stop.
Realize it is a bakery but the Cafe had one gluten free option. More should be added as when I was there three customers in the span of 20 min asked for options and was told there was none that they can ensure.
Delicious
Awesome location. Beautiful building right by the sea. The bread wasn’t the best I had ever eaten but it was solid. Come for the experience and a peaceful Sunday.
Interesting collection of shops & friendly wait-staff wait-staff
Amazing deserts
Wonderful food and nice atmosphere. Would go again any day.
Good bread. Good sandwiches. Best mincemeat pie I've had in years.
Small and very friendly. Great food and atmosphere. Enjoy your coffee while looking at the crafts below the store and books at the other end. Walk out on the pier for a really nice view after you're finished
Delicious samples. Extremely friendly staff. Don't skip it!
Amazing baked goods, great coffee selection, and hot food as well. Located in a beautifully picturesque area.
Ohhh my goodness! If you go to Bridgewater you must make a stop here. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were outstanding. I also had a personal Greek pizza that was out of this world. Staff were so friendly.
Old fashioned bakeries with a unique style of bake goods.
Amazing scones!
Apart from the outstanding location, the food is excellent, not just the baked goods.
Delicious!
A perfect spot on the Lahave River, the building is full of character and charm. Delicious stop to have coffee and baked goods or a lunch, highly recommend binning the area. The ferry down the road is free for cyclists and pedestrians
Old school bakery. Gorgeous building. wonderful views. Lots of bakery items to choose from. Friendly staff. The best marmalade on the planet.
Excellent Atmosphere! SUPERB Food ! Service with a Smile ! 10 Sparkling Stars !
Quality food products and fast service.
Awesome quaint beautiful destination to meet for a coffee, and enjoy yummy baked goods.
Had the fish sandwich or was really good. lots of history here. We would return.
Best pizza in the world.
Great little cafe. Awesome sandwiches and baked good. Gets a little busy but a great funky atmosphere. Go downstairs and check out the book store and walk out back and see the LaHave River up close.
Amazing food Friendly staff
Best BAKERY in the world
Great coffee and baked goods. Must stop here.
Superb as always ! excellent food and great choices. lovely place. I will definitely come again.
Excellent Service and Yummy Food = Perfect Combination! The Building and Atmosphere is Simply Wonderful !
Great bakery and great spot for breakfast and lunch. Also awesome coffee. The staff here is super friendly. I personally love their breakfast sandwich and you have to get the hot peppers with it as it really makes the whole thing. Their b wrap is great too!
Super yummy!! Good customer service, we didnt realize it was closing time but they didn't turn us away, vegan options
One of my favourite places in Nova Scotia. The drive to it is beautiful, then the building itself which makes you feel as if you're in a country general store in 1910, and the craft store - wonderful! The only thing that could make me love it more would be some fish options (smoked salmon? Tuna?) and creative veggie sandwiches that aren't just 'can I have that without the meat?'. But don't get me wrong - I love this place!
Set in an old outfitters office they deliver delicious bread and treats. On top of that they serve an awesome homemade lunch
Love this bakery! We’ve enjoyed all we’ve tried here, from pancakes to bagel sandwiches, muffins and dessert squares, to their BEST ever chai latte. Don’t forget to take some bagels home with you!
Excellent local baked goods, a bit touristy at times but charming nonetheless.
Always a great place to enjoy good food and to meet the locals.. A favorite spot for me.
So quaint. Like stepping back on time
(Translated) The bread and sandwiches are very good (Original) Le pain et les sandwichs dont tres bons
It's always a great place with friendly, efficient staff, great coffee not to mentioned the wonderful baked goods.
The lemon squares clearly have lemon extract. I say this due to the taste. Orange Raison bread could use more orange. Perhaps add more juice and some zest.
Food is delicious. Small town bakery. A lot of tourists visit this bakery because it's really good. Built in an old home and it's very unique. Beautiful views next to the bakery of the ocean. We were here at noon on Labour Day. Very busy and our food had a bit of a mix up but it was totally understandable. We enjoyed what we ordered!
Lemon blueberry muffins...WOW!
The best bread in Nova Scotia. Their wheat comes from locally milled heritage varieties.
Baking good Rye bread and other kinds, friendly service
Fresh baked treats, cookies, squares and muffins are delicious, and coffee is good. Lahave sells many kinds of fresh baked bread, bagels and rolls, but as popular as they are, they are not the best around. Even fresh from the oven feel dry and almost like day or two old baked goods. For the private there are others that are better. The muffins are baked fresh and sold Individually, along with other sweets. Any of them.are great choices with a fresh coffee, and there are tables along the water to relax and enjoy your goodies.
Overrated
Cute place. Nice baking!
Had the haddock burger and lemonade. Yum. Ate on the Adirondack chairs with our puppies where they served us. The smell of the cheese bread was heavenly. A must go!
Beautiful spot, I highly recommend it!
Go there. Waterfront. Great food. Baked goods. Good coffee and the atmosphere is unique
Best bread I have ever had!
What an amazing find. Excellent breakfast. Old building formally a general store now bakery/restaurant in front with book store facing the river. Beautiful location
So welcoming!!! Delicious homemade food and baked goods.. absolutly amazing Artisan works downstairs and a wonderful view of the dock from the quaint bookstore also downstairs.
great place to grab a treat!
Amazing little spot. We really enjoyed the coffee in pottery mugs, the sweets were delicious as was the bread. We wished it was lunch time so we could have tried more! And the gift shop/book store below was a real treat as well!
The best bread and all good and super healthy plus the amazing owner
Always like to stop here for latte and a baked treat. It’s worth the stop just to tour the building.
Such a delightful spot! Everything you could imagine in a bakery. Everything from fresh bread (sliced infront of you) to grocery goods like fresh veg, ready to bake pies, local smoked salmon and preserves made in house, to bulk soaps and a "bring your own container bulk dry goods section. Prompt service, very clean, can't wait to go back for lunch from the deli counter!!
Best breakfast wrap I’ve ever had. Husband loved his sandwich too! Great place. The lighthouse motel recommended you guys. I’m glad they did!
Amazing coffee, atmosphere and views. Had the salmon loks bagel. Mmmmm.
Great breads. Beautiful location. Nice place to spend some time.
Food was fine but quite expensive for what you get. You pay when you place your order and are asked for a tip up front. Then you are expected to get your own water, napkins, cutlery, etc. and return it all to the kitchen when you are done. I guess the tip is solely for making the food because there is no service involved whatsoever.
One of my favorite places to stop for lunch, anytime I'm in NS, I always make time to get there.
Love it
Such a lovely spot
Food was delicious, the potato bread is a must. Great atmosphere and the staff was super friendly.
beautiful building, location, lots of shops to explore, a great place to spend an afternoon
Very nice
Excellent baked goods (scones, bread, muffins, etc.) and tasty light lunches in a historic building. The place feels like you have walked into a general store over 100 years ago
It was awesome good food and staff
Excellent bakery!!
Nice food, though a little pricey, good selection and a nice outdoor seating area.
Slow service and I found the price of the products high considering the quality. I still prefer Weagles in Bridgewater.
Stop in for a meal and take home delicious fresh baked treats
Great food and love the shop - so eclectic!
So much charm in one place. The food is excellent if you're looking for a quick, fresh-baked treat or a lunchtime meal! There is not much seating but the turnover rate is fairly quick! If you have time, I suggest exploring the entire building!

Great food and coffee
One of the loveliest places on Earth
Busy, quite a wait for food, but very eclectic businesses in the huge building in which it is domiciled.
Neat bakery. Cool setting
Little pricey
Super yummy coffee, baked goods, and sandwiches.
Not a fan of the panini-pressed smoked meat sandwich..not a lot of meat and bread was too hard. Lemon bar was a dry-style coconut shortbread - not what I expected or liked. Wouldn't recommend it. But candied ginger scone was Terrific! Would go back just for the scone. If you plan to go back in for seconds, there's a $5 minimum charge for debit/credit..
The coffee is great. The food is like a better version of home made, but you can still pronounce all the ingredients. The view is breathtaking. And the decore always leaves you wanting to ask questions so you can know more. Always a great visit, and a relaxing time.
They have the best butter tarts!!
Seemed like more of a small deli restaurant than Bakery. Sure they have muffins and breads but when I was there the selection was small.
I would have to guess close to 10 years ago we walked into this bakery while on vacation... and the incredible flavour has never left.. I try to imitate, to duplicate but I know I'll never succeed... the cheddar sandwich on homemade white bread... I will be back one day
I have been there four times in 8 months and I find the customer service horrible. The bread is all over the place and no one to help. They didnt even ask if I wanted to sliced they were so understaffed. We will not go back.
Baked goods were tasty, but the sandwiches were pretty average. Take into account that it was a 40min wait to get our food for takeout and this wasn't really worth the trouble.
Excellent home cooked meals and a phenomenal bakery that uses REAL ingredients instead of processed types. You can taste the difference. Their breads are fantastic and they have an amazing collection of their own home made jams - the banberry (strawberry and banana ) was delicious.
Miserable service, inconsistent food quality, high prices. Only reason they are in business is there's not much competition. Try the Ploughmans Lunch nearby.
Great food in historic building.
Driving or sailing by, this place is always a good place to stop for coffee, sandwiches or their great cookies.
Good food...lots of choices...friendly staff. Not a fan of the long tressel like table in the sit down area. Had the veggie burger with carrot salad...yum!!! Love the bottles of cold water on the table.
Was looking forward to some baked goods but I guess we should of arrived earlier for a better selection!
Delicious selection, friendly staff
It's great, I LOVE the oat cakes. I make sure to come down here every time I'm in Lunenburg. Especially now the ferry is free.
Love this place it’s hard to describe a must stop. Everything fresh and delicious. So quaint
Need to have better instructions about order process and shops or shows available in the building. Once figured out it was very interesting and food delicious !!!
Love their bread
Beautiful place and location. Prices on the higher end. Bread is delicious. Service is great.
A very old-timey style place. Good coffee, nice lunch food, cool art store in the basement back-end, beautiful location!
The food here is delicious. Best breakfast wrap ever. I recommend waiting for a less cold day. Inside was pretty chilly. To be fair it's an old building and the wind was bitter that day.
Great food. Service was ok.
Great bakery! Delicious coffee and pastries, awesome lunch menu!
This place was great. Delicious breakfast in a very cool heritage building.
Breakfast wrap is pretty empty compared to what is used to be few months ago.
Great food
Queen Elizabeth Cake! You must try some!! Beautiful location and staff are so welcoming and caring.
Super good bakery but a bit pricy
Love this place. So far everything has been excellent. If I lived closer, I'd probably weigh 300 pounds.
Delicious food, worth the trip from Halifax or wherever you are in the province!
Lovely little bakery - excellent choice of baked goods - staff friendly and knowledgeable - a must stop off point
Worth the trip. Good food.
Interesting
Best bagels!
La Have Bakery is great! Delicious food & unique venue. Love it!
Cute little rest stop along the Lahave shore
Great treats, coffee, and very friendly staff.
Fantastic home made desserts. Beautiful view. Great gift shop on bottom floor filled with local artisans crafts.
Don’t miss this gem of a bakery ( and more) if you’re in the area
This is a must stop if you're in the area!
Everything is so delicious. The people are so friendly. Worth a visit every time I'm in the area.
I like to go there to have a espresso and seat outside. The burger is also awesome !
To answer your question, yes the drive out here is worth it. And while you're out here, why would you only get one pastry or just one tart of sorts? Do yourself a favour and get the half dozen deal and now you have car snacks for your ride back to Halifax. For an extra adventure, take the cable ferry connecting East LaHave to (West) LaHave. The ride itself is a bit underwhelming, I mean its just a car ferry pulling you from one side to another. But at least by now you have finished your first slice of carrot cake and now you are onto the butter tart that I told you to get in the first place. You're welcome! Oh and also check the book shop in the back. And also buy some of the bread.
Amazing food! Really cool environment.
Yummy and esthetically pleasing to the eye and nose ????
Service fantastic
Potato, Milk & Honey and Cheese & Herb breads are delicious ????
Lovely spot to stop for a treat and awesome coffee.
Poor coffee big price
Service was great. Food fresh and delicious. I had a maple blueberry scone that was a 10 out 10.
Fantastic establishment! Delicious food!
Great step back in time! Amazing bread!
Great staff and vibes! The food is ok, but the bread is awesome!
Great spot!
One of a kind jewel. Love every one of their incredible breads - their cookies are to die for. Worth the drive from... Anywhere! 100 times over!
(Translated) Super warm and really special as a place. Great coffee, good food too !! Peaceful place to read a book and relax on the dock! Very nice surprise !! Nice team and good service and more! Bravo !! (Original) Super chaleureux et vraiment spécial comme endroit. Super café, bonne nourriture aussi !! Endroit paisible pour lire un livre et relaxer sur le quai ! Très belle surprise !! Belle équipe et bon service agréable en plus ! Bravo !!
Awesome bakery, quaint building and view from dock! Lots of baked goods here... Treats, muffins, cookies. Breakfast foods. Fantastic Americano. Also offered homemade gronola, loaves of bread and lovely pottery mugs to purchase.
Great place to visit
This place has great snacks. Have dined here as well. Is very tasty. A bit on the expensive side but everyone should try it. They have a skate board mini park on the 3rd floor as they make the boards there. 2nd floor used to be an art gallery but is not there at the moment. Yummy cakes and squares and coffee to go with it. Set on the waterfront and you can sit outside.
Historic location and good food
