This place is a hidden gem! Tucked in the back corner of a useless plaza sits Black Tiger coffee, you may even wonder what you are doing there. Wonder not, this cafe is equal to Luckys donuts and coffee in Kits, right down to serving Parallel 49 coffee and designer donuts. Yes, friends designer donuts. If you are anything like me and regular donuts just are not worth the calories this place is your saviour. The donuts here ARE worth the calories. I enjoyed the Poptart and it tasted just like a Passion Flakey. My bf had the the Peanut Butter and Jam, and though it was quite "dough-y" he said he would get it again. It's amazing to find a place so much closer than Kits beach with server tasty coffee and awesome donuts.

Cute coffee shop with lots of great options. I did not like my drink, a kiddichino is just steamed milk that's super sweet, not my favourite. It was pretty busy, staff were wearing masks. My friend ordered a breakfast bagel and it didn't come with napkins which is odd.

Disappointing. The stars are for the baristas, they were friendly and efficient. I was shocked at the $6.50 price tag for grilled cheese. 2 small pieces of bread barely touched by the grill. No extras whatsoever, and for that price I would have expected at least a piece of tomato or watermelon or something. Sorry. I won't be back.

Over priced and zero customer service skills in the staff. Social distancing stickers on the ground but impossible to know how to order and where to pick up your food. Don't get anything to go because they won't label anything. Not often you miss the organization skills of Tim Horton's over an independent coffee shop. Big let down.

Coffee is rich and has a flavors I enjoy. Donuts are soft which is good but the toppings and donut somehow have a less fresh feel to them. I had the Americano and 6 assorted donuts. I tried this place because I heard they had amazing donuts. They are just regular donuts that are a bit bigger and more dressed up than Tim Hortons. I would come back again to see what new creations they have. This is your average run of the mill coffee shop. Try the Homer donut, top right of picture, it's fun!

I’ve only been here twice but I liked it both times! I had a Spanish latte (coffee with condensed milk) which was delicious. The second time I had poke (~$14) which was a very good size portion, delicious and lots of variety. The staff was very friendly. The donuts were tasty, although in a higher price range then your every day Tim Hortons donut!

Not bad. Not great. 2.50 for a poached egg, egg is actually microwaved, unlike the picture of the egg. Got a donut as well, they were being stocked as I came in so assumed they would be fresh, but after saw them sitting in Tupperware containers in the back. The donut tasted at least a couple days old. So overall I was let down by the experience.

Excellent food and coffee. While this place is a little hidden away, it's definitely worth checking out. The doughnuts are excellent too, and while I've only tried one of their sandwiches, the American, it was quite good with a poached egg on top.

Poor service and sanitation. Something must be off with training or the staff just doesn't care. E-mailed the company, response was generic and doesn't inspire me to want to visit again. Used to love this place, will continue to frequent other local places. edit: The response from the owner below is about as unprofessional as I'd expect. Here's the e-mail I got in response, which in my opinion is generic. Glad you've taken it seriously at least. "Hello, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We welcome all feedback negative or positive as we are a new business and are always striving to make corrections where needed. We take sanitation and customer service very serious and I will be taking the proper measures to correct this from happening in the future."

Good coffee, good doughnuts, horrible customer service. I use to frequent this place once a week or so, and over time, the staff have gotten crabbier and crabbier. I had to ask twice for my breakfast sandwhich that they forgot, after waiting 20 minutes they left it on the counter without saying a word. The girl with the short hair working the till should take a lesson in customer service, or go work back of the house. Terrible responses.

Love their donuts and the coffee tastes great here but customer service has gone downhill. They’re not personable at all and take forever to make a quick Americano due to being too busy taking orders and not making any coffees they took orders for previously. I love supporting local but the ambiance isn’t worth the trip!

Nice and bright, open and Airy, unlike a lot of coffee places in Langley which are very cluttered with lots of various signs. Also they serve 49th parallel coffee not a fan of it. I wish there would be places that had darker coffee like Starbucks or Bean around the world. Everywhere you go it seems a tall medium roast. Also unlike Starbucks and Bean Around The world the coffee I had was not hot by any stretch and it was a fresh pot. Great selection of donuts though.

The mocha and Skor donut was delicious! It's a bit pricey (like most fancy coffee places)..paid almost $10 for the 2 items! Barista was friendly enough, but could've been more personable. It was nearing closing time, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but other reviews seem to echo this sentiment. I'll try them again at an earlier time of day.

I really regret trying this over just going to Starbucks. Really bad customer service. I don't expect baristas to be jumping for joy but they were so standoffish and seemed to just want you out of the way to take the next customer. I get it, they're busy, but there is a nice way to go about it. As someone coming into the shop for the first time, it left a really bad impression and I will not be returning. Maybe my expectations for a local coffee shop were too high. Also, they charged us for a latte that we didn't even want. No refund was offered, we were just shown the receipt. We were just expected to take the extra drink and we just ended up taking it because we didn't want to make their jobs harder. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because of the donuts and latte that I had. I didn't like how I felt walking out of the shop. I came in happy and left feeling disappointed. I don't plan on returning as I am sure I can find a different coffee shop with a better atmosphere.

I visited BTC for the second time today. I love the iced Spanish late and their PB and J donut is an excellent treat. I stopped in at lunch time today and ordered a poke bowl with my usual stuff. There were 6 small chunks of salmon in it which wasn’t enough to justify the price tag in my opinion. The salmon was also plain, no marinade on it, and kind of seemed like it was frozen and defrosted. The rest of the bowl was absolutely delish - I added avocado and I think they put almost a whole one in the bowl. The staff were so sweet and placed a table and chair outside for me when I asked if they had any outdoor seating. My food was also delivered to me outside when it was ready. Next time I’ll try a sandwich or another food item instead of the poke.

Went here with my daughter on Saturday afternoon for a treat. We ordered two americanos, one iced and one cold with cream. Staff added the cream as per COVID safety protocols. We went to take a first sip and noticed the cream was bad. Took the lids off on both our drinks and noticed the cream was clumpy. I understand mistakes like this happen, but when we told the barista she said that the date on the carton meant the cream was still good and insisted that it was fine. When we asked if she could make us new drinks with fresh cream, she said she couldn't. We insisted that we wouldn't drink spoiled cream and would like the mistake rectified. She took several minutes to discuss with a colleague if they were allowed to remake us a drink at no cost. After about 5 minutes of back and forth they agreed to re-make our drinks. I don't understand in what realm of the food service industry you pressure your customers to be fine with consuming spoilt ingredients. I was shocked by the level of incompetence in customer service and I will not be returning here. At least at Starbucks I can count on consistently good product and service - the staff are adequately trained.

I had the Summer Special: Iced Rose Tea Latte and a "Homer" Donut. Both were very cute and tasted great! I'll admit, when you call something a rose tea latte, it should probably include rose tea, but in this case it was rose coloured. Regardless, it was a nice earl grey tea latte. The donut wasn't the best I've had, but in terms of donut options outside of Vancouver and North Van, this is definitely worth while. It wasn't too sweet and didn't taste oily. Service was great and the staff were friendly. Overall 4/5 and I definitely recommend going here.

Lovely coffee shop with a perfect atmosphere. I visited home for a few weeks and this was my #1 go-to spot. They're located in a plaza with ample parking and the interior design was trendy. In terms of drinks, the coffee was a bit pricey and nothing extraordinary. They also serve food - breakfast options and some poké bowls that helped me through long study sessions. If you're not feeling too hungry, they have donuts that are yummy. In terms of a study place, they have a lot of seating and outlets around the café for you to use. It can get a bit noisy during busy times (lunch in particular). I believe they are found on some food delivery apps!

I was on a hunt for donuts and it needed to be close by from work. This was referred to me. Cute little place. We got the The Gustoso sandwich. It was delicious. London Fog was also good BUT for the price, I could have gotten a venti from Starbucks. We also got six donuts, which were pretty good. The Homer was my favourite, which surprised me cause I thought I'd devoured the Oreo donut but it's the Homer! Definitely expensive donuts. Staff were super nice but they seemed sad or unhappy. Service was ok, a bit slow but again, no biggie, unless you're in a rush. I'd probably come again for the sandwiches.

This place can get busy! There we customers coming in/out non-stop when we were there but they managed to only make you wait for a reasonable amount of time, so good job! We got a box of donuts and their breakfast bagels. Love how they grilled your breakfast bagels by order! Enjoyed the donuts, too. They have a good bite to them.

This place is alright. We got the Mediterranean, The American (each with a poached egg), a vanilla latte and a PB&J Donut. Everything was decent but no wow factor. They don’t have a proper kitchen so everything is “prepped”. Price point is simply too high for the value. All of that cost $32. I could have paid that at a sit down higher end restaurant. The one saving grace is that they serve Parallel 49th Coffee. I don’t think I would recommend this place but they seem to be doing well with the people that want a piece of Vancouver in Langley. The donut was very mediocre and not worth $4! Service was surprisingly quick and they were nice. Overall, they need to improve their portions or their prices. Also the food should be prepared in the back room which has more than enough space for an actual kitchen.

I went here a few days ago and I unfortunately did not have the best experience. The staff at the front was pretty rude and was not accommodating what so ever. They did not even greet us properly. I wanted a drink I have seen all over Instagram and they said they said they’ll make that specific design I asked for but instead gave me a plain drink with cinnamon sprinkled sloppily everywhere. Pretty bad service considering you’re charging prices higher than Starbucks but delivering half the service. Will not be visiting here again.

Unsanitary! I strongly discourage patronage of Black Tiger. I used to be an avid fan and for years have brought visitors to try the delicious donuts and excellent coffees. (Best Spanish latte around!) but there is no way I can continue frequenting a place where EVEN IN A PANDEMIC the staff don’t wash their hands. Twice recently I have been served by ungloved, unwashed young ladies with long unkempt hair that trails in the food. Disgusting. Yes - it was addressed privately before a public review was posted. I was really hoping they could improve on hygiene, and went back to try again. Regretting that. There are other local gems - avoid Black Tiger.

Skip Starbucks and head straight to here! Coffee is 100x better than most coffee places, their Spanish lattes are perfect! Not too sweet like most. Make sure you get a donut, actually get 6! They’re the best I’ve had other than the ones you can get on the island at Goats on a Roof. The service is also extremely friendly, we were greeted with hellos and friendly eyes. I’m sure they were smiling under these dumb masks... I want to try their Poke bowls next time! All in all, the perfect little gem of a cafe!

Finally a premium coffee house in "Langley". Not quite Langley but close enough. But man is it good coffee with a great atmosphere to boot. The photos should show the story so I will stick with the quality of their drink. Mileage should very as coffee tents to be only as good as your next barista but so far it's been 10/10. I always ask for a shot upfront. What has been provided is a sweet fruity shot with very few tones of bitterness. I have no ownership in this place but my office is close by and would very much like to see this business thrive. As my love of coffee will suffer without. Give this place a try I'm sure you will make it one of your choice spots.

Visited this coffee shop last weekend, the coffee and doughnuts were okay. Sat inside and the music was so loud — definitely not coffee shop music. While trying to enjoy my coffee, a little girl was waiting in line with her mom and scraping her runners on the concrete floor — making a piercing screeching noises. It was the owner's daughter, and she did absolutely nothing to stop the behaviour. Customers started moving outside to avoid the ruckus. How inconsiderate and rude. I will not be returning.

Overcharged on a simple coffee. Explained that they overcharged and that the price on the board plus tax doesn't reflect it. Cashier just brushed me aside and kept insisting I was wrong. But after showing her the price on the board and her even later saying the price was incorrect (and that she didn't know it was that much), she didn't bother reimbursing or correcting the error and charging the correct amount. Second time they've just brushed me aside like that and been standoffish. Its just a coffee and a simple mistake. But to not fix it? Maaaaan... I'm up for supporting small businesses during this pandemic, but customer service is not their strong suit here. Just check out the other reviews with similar experiences.

I would give it five stars, but they have a bit of an attitude sometimes when you order. Parking is limited, and they want to charge you extra even for a splash of almond milk in your black coffee (I can’t drink cream or milk). They hardly stock donuts they advertise so don’t drive out there for vegan ones, they’re kind of bland. I give more stars because it’s different than most shops. Beautiful decor, I love the food menu. Irs a tiny place, but cozy if you can find a spot. Their teas are pretty good, coffee is nice and strong and fresh.

The person taking order was not helpful at all as we were there for first time. When asked for flavours for latte she just pointed at board and thats about it. No greets no thanks!! I'm only giving two stars just because of good coffee.

Best Cappuccino I have had in a LONG TIME. The Homer Donut was a little dry but my dad loved his Peanut Butter And Jelly Donut. My Gustoso Sandwich was filling and delicious. Very clean and relaxed environment. The prices were reasonable. I will be returning. 4.5 Stars

Went to get donuts that someone had recommended. They were good but definitely not worth $3 each price. I ordered 6 to go and the girl at the counter was not happy because I didn't tip and showed it as well. Seems like a nice place to have a coffee but I wouldn't go back.

I came to know about this place from a magazine in my hotel room about Surrey neighbourhoods. I checked out their website and knew I had to visit this place upon reading their menu description of their espresso. I love cappuccinos and it sounded like they shared this love. I went out of my way to check this place out. Was it worth it? For me, yes! A traditional cappuccino made with 49th parallel coffee, yum! The treats in the case and the food menu looked fantastic so I ordered the American - avocado smash, cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning on toasted sour dough bread. It was delicious. The perfect spread ratio of cream cheese and avocado. Food and cappuccino were made within reasonable time. Parking spots out for an easy run in on a rainy day. Plenty of spots to sit and enjoy your order. I will return to try to the lavender and honey latte!

Stopped for a quick to go bite last week - Good grilled cheese and hubby enjoyed the tuna poke bowl. Took a bit of time to prepare though so could be a bit faster there. Nice modern interior

We just paid $37 for an avocado toast, bagel / 2 donuts and 2 coffees so price point is quite high. But on top of that our order was all messed up, balsamic is super strong so covering the toast in it does not work, and the bagel was supposed to have no mayo on it and had it on both sides. Don’t think we would come back based on the price and quality but the donuts are awesome !

Iced mocha is so good! As for the donuts... they're expensive and Tim Hortons is definitely a better donut option

Brandon Mall location, coffee was cold and no flavor. we were told it is made early morning and by afternoon it's cooling off and once the coffee is gone, they don't make more. It was in big urns with a spout. Offered to make an americana with espresso beans instead. Again that was a failure. Not very hot and also no flavor. Breakfast tacos had cold lukewarm eggs. Friend and I ended up throwing everything away... perhaps the staff should be trained in coffee brewing instead of being on their phones when customers are in the shop. No other choice except Starbucks now

What a great experience! We've seen this place around for so long and never made it in. The Americano was great! Not bitter but nice and smooth. The donuts - holy moly! So good! This place is a hidden gem. Everyone definitely needs to visit this place and support this local business.

WOW - this place will blow your socks off!! Their coffee and food is prepared and served with as much care as if it were your own mother trying to cheer you up after a tough day at school. The staff are amazingly friendly and charming, they've done a fantastic job of hiring new folks - especially recently :)

They make great coffee and delicious donuts. Their customer service is close to none. Once at the till, no one welcomes you or greets you. I had to catch their attention before I could place my order. Once I had placed my order and waited for my coffee, the barista didn’t call out the completed drink so I had to guess if the drink was even mine. When I asked the barista to confirm if this was what I had ordered they almost seemed annoyed at the fact that they had to tell me what was in the cup they had just placed on the counter without announcement. At one point both employees on the floor were absent (bathroom, back kitchen) and a customer walked in confused because there was no one available to help them. I love the interior of the place. It’s a nice little spot to take a coffee break. The only thing that I suggest needs to be better is customer service. Otherwise, great food!

Coffee is good however the customer service is sorely lacking, as is social distancing during peak times. You'd be safer and better off ordering ahead and calling upon arrival to make sure your order is ready for pick up. Staff does not go out of their way to greet you and is not particularly friendly so you're not missing any exceptional service using take out as an alternative.

They brew with 49th parallel beans here! They only had espresso and French roast for sale but good beans made the coffee here quite tasty! The Americans misto was just about perfect and the donuts were quite good also! We will be back as good coffee in Langley can be hard to find!

Awful coffee. I had a espresso and my partner had a Spanish latte. We shared two donuts. The espresso was the worst I've ever had(Mcdonald's is bottom of the barrel and this is much worse). The Spanish latte was palatable but used sugar to mask the poor espresso. The donuts were the best part of the experience but they could be replicated in 30 minutes of prep and aren't worth writing home about.

A Hidden Gem You've probably driven past this place and never known it was here. It's tucked into a little commercial/residential development and you can't see it from the street. This place is absolutely worth stopping for. They proudly display and serve 49th Parallel as their bean. They also have a contantly rotating selection of delicious fancy doughnuts. They even have gluten free treats. The staff are very nice. They even have a couple covered outdoor tables to sit at. Love this place and would love it more if they were open later in the evening. Come check it out!!!!!

Went to black tiger today for the first time and enjoyed my experience. Good parking, friendly staff and great coffee. I got the ‘American’ toast (cream cheese and avocado smash) and it was delicious. I also got 7 donuts. The reason my review is 4 instead of 5 stars is because the donuts tasted like they were a day or two old - not fresh. This was disappointing but regardless they were still tasty. I’ll be back :)
