Great place, but recently I bought 2 almond croissants and a 2 regular and my total was to be ~9.60 but I was charged ~14.00. I showed the cashier my bank statement the next day, but she said that given I did not have my receipt she couldn't do anything. To all of you who think that this is a great bakery, go to Croissant Monkland down the road on sherbrook, you will thank me. I stoped by Chez Fred today after going to croissant monkland and found out there were closed for 1 week vacation. The bread is delicious (sourced from local flour, I think), and the hot dog buns are so good you don’t need the hot dogs. Buy a huge slice of flan if they have it, and try the chouquettes! I'll begin by saying the food is great, roasted chicken wrap was amazing, the pied ours ( bear paw) was perfect. coffee is good as well. Now to why only 3 stars; Chez Fred recently renovated and shrank there resto/café space to accommodate a larger kitchen, its to bad as it was a nice space. Service is really bad, combined with new staff that are completely lost and poorly trained and an IPAD order system that is not coordinated with the cashier Lastly, get bigger cups, when I order a large regular coffee for in house consumption I don't want it served in a soup bowl... really who does that?? coffee was cold in 5 min, When going out and spending $30.00 in a coffee shop I really expect better, its the little things that count. For the owners, make sure your staff doesn't invite friends who hang out all day and are excessively loud, your other patrons didn't appreciate it. If you do go to Chez Fred make sure its for take out, it will be a much better experience.

A breath of fresh air for Sherbrooke west with the demise of the stale gascone . Located close to decarie but worth the short trip . Staff very friendly efficient and accommodating. Everything is done fresh daily with highest quality ingredients , selection is not big but of outstanding quality. A great spot for coffee and cake or a light lunch all at reasonable prices. A RECENT VISIT in Sept left me puzzled. Food good as ever but staff seemed all new and not trained which is OK they got to learn , but handling food with no hair nets or gloves was disappointing. I just ate the most delicious chausson aux pommes. The paste was crunchy and lightly sugared. The Apple filling was gorgeous it felt homemade with actual apple pieces in it. The pastry was still a little warm and it added a gorgeous touch. I used to eat a lot of those back in France and I went back home through this pastry. Honestly absolutely amazing. I didn’t try anything else yet but the bread looked and smelled delicious and after eating a five star pastry I am ready for more.

Wonderful little French patisserie located on a very busy street making it near impossible to find parking nearby. You have to maneuver and know the side streets to successfully park and enjoy a dine-in experience. I personally, enjoyed their croissant. Perhaps the almond croissant is overrated but it's definitely worth the trip. For those interested, these folks brew Brossard coffee and the price is similar to the Timmys at the gas station nearby. The Japanese employee is very nice to deal with.

You have to try the cinamon rolls. Soft, tasty, fingerlicking good. I'm addicted. I come from Europe and can truely tell: The parisienne and the tradition is better than in most of the bakery s in France. I'll be back here as soon as possible. délicieux
