Zéro star all because of this ONE EMPLOYEE at the exit next to the cash register. Monday April 12 @ 8:45. Approached me rudely and ask me if I was CHINESE. When I answered him & asked why he demanded to know, he just walked away. I really don’t see how this information is of any use to him. Judging from the current events COVID / ASIAN hate crimes.

Since moving to Verdun 10 years ago, this has always been my "go-to" store. It is far better than the other Big Stores, and better than other IGAs in the area. Super clean, great choice of products, well organized, reasonable prices and a very inviting environment. But above all is the quality of the staff ... always helpful, cheerful and polite. Cashiers, Floor Staff and Managers are all worthy of praise. They often go out of their way to help me find an item I'm looking for. I always feel good after I visit your establishment. And to add "icing on this cake" is the way you are protecting your staff and your clientele during this Corona-virus Crisis. Your safety measures are by far the most comprehensive and thorough of ANY store I've visited (even Pharmacies which should know better). Today, I had my second delivery (Order #3775206) from your store. It was the same guy as the first time. He was cheerful, polite and very helpful. And It was his excellent service that finally made me decide to write a very long overdue commendation for your store. I often recommend your store to others, and I'm quite sure I will continue to do so in the future. Thank you all! Stay safe and healthy!

Some produce is just way overpriced, not sure how you justify this because I don't find any gold leaf wrappers.... Overall options are ok. Staff is friendly, but a lot of it is young has no knowledge or minimal training - if you don't want to train your staff properly, maybe you should just hire them to dig in the fields, that doesn't require much knowledge. Case in point, if you have people assisting cashiers with packing, you should train them - yes, it's not rocket science, but it's clear that some staff would be challenged tying shoelaces... thanks for turning my burgers back into "just ground beef".. at least I didn't get charged extra for this "service" - shame shame shame

Nice store for daily grocery; a bit narrow alleys for covid times, yet they manage in a way to avoid crowds. Impressive selection of locally crafted beers, pizzas and craft dairy products. SAQ's Cellier is hidden in one of the corners of the store, so you have access to a better selection of wines when SAQ is closed. Organic foods have their own separate alley. IGAs own bakery - bread, cakes and pastries are a thing set apart (maybe not Premier Moisson, yet very decent).

Good overall grocery store. I've always found that the quality of produce in particular is hit or miss. Most of the stockers seen a bit ham fisted, and produce seems to get treated roughly at times. That said, it is very clean, organized and in general very good quality wise, just be mindful of eggs and produce especially.

Waiting in line at express cash, person in front has 3 water bottles (20l), express cash num 2 slower than frozen molasses, so I wsit. Then some kind of glorified wannabe manager apens the lotto cash and decides to pass people in back of me. I approach cash and tell her Im next but no, she passes people who were there after I was waiting for 10 minutes. I object, tells me to get back in my line where i wait more. Call for manager but gives me bullcrap excuse. The young man at my cash where I finally pass says yeah I saw the whole episode. Always bad service there. They took my mother off the delivery list because god knows why. Rest her soul. Go to hell iga beck. Vous faites dur en maudit.

As per usual, IGA staff are fantastic in contrast to other grocers. Store is well kept. Only issue is some product is over-priced, but this is normal at all IGAs. It needs to be made clear to people an effort is being made toward price reduction, in order to achieve the golden 5 stars.

Generally enjoy this IGA, especially the number of brand choices. My last visit, the cashier had a great disposition, friendly, helpful, understood what I meant when I requested extra bags, did not mind having to pay for more bags than what they usually stuff full. Regardless of my assistance, the cashier several attempts to tell two different employees that came by separately, regardless, the bags were poorly packed, oddly stuffed. After finishing with the cashier, noticing items piled on top, I half jokingly, due to what seemed an obvious oversight mention to one of the assistants bagging items the pending disaster of which she said I'd be fine... said ok... asked if I could have simply another paper bag, as I'd said from the beginning - asks for the 10 cents as I awkwardly held on to the top of the groceries- had no change and brushed me off. Very poor quality service experience and have in the past had similar, just not such extreme difficulties requesting the paper bags stuffed full, which fall apart to half fill the bags - no issues paying for the amount needed - still end up awkwardly overstuffed and end up having to rearrange. Disappointing and frustrating.

I really used to enjoy shopping at Beck’s IGA. It once had very efficient, professional staff and a great selection of groceries. Since the pandemic, good staff is hard to come by, and desperation has given way to poor staff selection. The managers in particular are rude. I witnessed one female manager verbally abusing a woman shopping for prepared fruit, under the guise of concern about COVID. If this manager was so truly worried about hygiene, why was she not wearing a mask? Why did she break the required distance of six feet to better scream at the woman? The same manager loudly berated me for not having a cart even though the security guard did not inform me of this rule. When I couldn’t find the item I was looking for, I left my cart and was proceeding to leave the store. The manager told me to leave the store because I did not have a cart. That was my plan anyway, but she made it her business to follow me out the door as though I were a fugitive. Well done, Beck’s IGA. You chased your $200.00 dollar-per-week customer out of the store FOREVER. -

October 14th 2014 - Walking towards the meat section by the bakery area, I fell due to dirty wet floor. I took a horrible tumble, I spoke to the manager, he never came back to let me know that the area was clean nor did he come back to ask how I was doing. At no point did he ask if I was ok. My shoulder and neck in pain tonight, I hope they would better maintain floors. Not very impressed with the manager.

- be careful from that location when you check your loto paper , two time they bluff the first scratch paper said not winning but machine didn’t show anything and they couldn’t find the paper in garbage second time today just now my 6/49 resulta a venir but the guy took the paper and put it a side didn’t tell me the results is tomorrow Nasty be careful guys when you check your lottery on that location This is the most clean supermarket ever, people talk about respect but if you really want to feel it go and shop at IGA extra employees super helpful , you will be treated with full respect when I go there I feel like I’m in jewelry store and not a supermarket the fruit look like diamond the quality is super high end , the cake and pastry section oh my lord for gathering company meeting birthday or a special treat for your wife or girlfriend that’s the place you need and don’t forget to buy a flowers they have a good collection of flowers roses etc.... and the same time a bottle of wine from the full range of quality and prices, my fish is always from there always fresh tasty and clean , and for my drink I always buy my cold cut from there because of the way how they work and how clean they are all you need for home is there I love loving that IGA I congratulate the employee the managers and the owner for making us proud of shopping at IGA extra beck.

Five stars for the abundance of vegan options. I live in Montreal but everytime I come visit my friend who lives five minutes away from this IGA, on my way back home, I stop there and pick up a few vegan things, my favorite being veggie meat. There's a veggie mortadelle that's sooooo tasty and thatI haven't found anywhere else here. Pricing is like most vegan products but I'm still thankful.

I have been shopping there since 2015. The quality has gone down these past two years. I had proscuitto cut at the deli counter. When I opened the package at home, it was all moldy in the middle, which the clerk saw and sold to me anyway. There was green mold on a big block of parmesan bought at the deli counter (cut and wrapped by IGA). The freshness of the produce varies. The vegetables on sale are often in a state where you think "who the hell thinks it's acceptable to sell veggies in this state and where is the manager?". They are on sale and they are far from looking fresh. The fresh meat/butcher area is so-so. You can often see 4 days old tired gray-looking pieces of meat. You have to check the expirations date in the milk section because rotation is poorly done (milk expired over 1 month ago still on the shelves). Otherwise they have a good selection of non-perishable items. Most of the staff is nice.

Decided to go into the store today and everything was IN STOCK with plenty left. Loved this IGA up until today.... I'm still trying to process what I just witnessed. I had just finished my shopping at IGA (I'm there like every 3 days) and was driving home. Just behind the IGA I witnessed a man pulling and pushing an older woman (50 yrs old). I of course, pulled over to see if she was okay and the man had claimed she was stealing from him for 2 weeks. I said okay, let's wait for the police to get here in the meantime can you please stop pulling her? He refused, said she was under arrest, I said "you're not a police officer". Obviously this became confrontational as NO ONE wants to see a 50 year old woman being dragged and pulled against her will! I asked him who he was, get this, TODD BECK owner of IGA! What an absolute joke. The guy was an obvious JERK! Yes shoplifters are annoying but guess what TODD that doesn't give you the right to become physical on the street with them, especially when they're 50 YEAR OLD WOMEN. WHAT A LOSER!! MILLIONAIRE ON THE STREET DRAGGING AROUND 50 YEAR OLD FEMALE SHOPLIFTERS. Still can't believe it. Proper way to deal with this Todd would be to hire plain clothes security guards who specialize in the matter. I repeatedly asked him to stop pulling her and he refused. I still can't get over what a loser this guy is. Poor for the brand, poor for the store and poor morally. Who knows what this woman is dealing with, definitely not the place of the owner to step in and physically drag the woman around on the street. Never shopping here again. The thought of the business being owner by this immoral human being makes me sick. Also, produce is garbage and over priced (as I said in my last review years ago). Metro has a new customer. People check your bills they always charge more, they always doing mistakes or most probably those are not mistakes .They are stealing for us. I bought 2 pack of beer for 31.99 each and I had to received $15 voucher discount and what they did , the cashier activated her voucher and she got 15 $ and to me gave me and empty one with no money in it and said use it when you do your next purchase. When I wanted to use it there is no money. They steal our money.

I'm giving the highest rating that I would for a grocery store since this type of operation has many challenges. They are outstanding because of their customer service: clean uniforms, courteous, professional. Their employees are empowered to respond to client needs beginning with cart management all the way to checkout. Department Managers are very present on the floor. High marks for store cleanliness, layout, product offerring and availability . Finally, for community involvement in raising awareness of different needs through their fund raising efforts.

During the covid-19 pandemic most of my groceries were bought by telephone order.On many occasions certain items were missing upon delivery, for example eggs, apples, and oranges.So I took it upon myself to call specific departments and ask if they had these products in stock, all confirmed yes, they were well stocked and had everything i needed.so I decided to call the owner and ask why this was happening.Beck the owner was so unprofessional and confrontational that it's still mind blowing to this day, and I don't believe that he speaks English. Anyway he left a 75 year old woman without food by taking me of the phone order list and completely ignoring me. I will never shop at this Iga again.

I like to shop at this IGA because they have oxo-biodegradable vegetable bags in the fruit section. After I use them to cover my vegetables from shopping, I could reuse them by putting kitchen food wastes into it and then throwing them into the brown bin for city truck to pickup. Plus, the cashiers in this IGA are polite and they will greet their customers.

Over priced products compared to Wal-Mart. Most items were $3 difference compared to other stores. I had the impression the IGA isn't doing financially well and the owner is trying to gouge customers. Most of the fruit and vegetables looked like they are ready to spoil. There's plenty of better options to shop for groceries than this place.

I actually enjoy my pgopping experience here. It is huge, they have everything, all their staff are friendly and when it rains they even have the bag boys walk people to their cars while holding umbrellas over them lol. Amazing
