Hands down the best pie in town, and beyond. Beautiful buttery flaky crusts, perfect fillings (not goopy or too sweet), and a great selection. Over the years we’ve tried their apple, cherry, blueberry, raspberry and bumble berry - all incredible. (We are from Toronto and despite our efforts we can’t find pie as delicious and well made there.) Their breads are delicious too - we’ve had their sourdough and challah. All in all B&B is a true gem.

On Saturday 8th.June,my wife purchased a small piece of cheesecake. Unfortunately,it had mold,very obvious once I had cut into it! We returned it for refund. However,I am concerned that the staff did not seem overly concerned by the situation. I wrote to them,hand-delivered to the Manager. I have yet to hear back from them. We had been regular customers,but their lack of concern and feedback about the situation has put a stop to that. If it happens once,then it could happen again!Check your purchase carefully! 18th.June; Bread and Butter seemed to have made no attempt to address my concerns...so it's one lost customer! If such a basic concern elicits no response,then I fear their attitude to basic hygiene and customer concerns,bodes ill for the future!

Edit: Came for lunch around 1pm and it was very busy but we did not wait too long. Ordered a chia tea latte and was told there was no Milk and almost no cream (my mom got the last) to be had in the building. That was disappointing for a place that is a Breakfeast/Lunch spot. So Ive had to reduce my previous review by one start. Food was good and service was still excellent. Delicious food and very friendly staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The prices are moderate and they have a bakery right next to the restraunt so you can grab a snack to go.

Their baked goods are amazing! I brought a blueberry tart to a party and all the guests were asking where they could buy it themselves. Their croissants are huge and fluffy, and their cinnamon rolls are great as well. They do run a little bit more expensive than your grocery store baked goods, but you pay for the quality. Tip: you have to go early as they tend to sell out later in the day.

The staff on the Toast'n Jam side are amazingly dedicated to their customers, and the Bread and Butter side has exceptionally well crafted goodies. In their one cooler, they have fresh salads, and I grabbed the small zucchini and pistachio with quinoa, and I'm so delighted with each bite! That old adage that you get what you pay for, is totally true. Their baked goods are insanely tasty, and I'm excited to go back to K-town repeatedly to get another salad and walk through their whole delicious collection! Thank you for not making us feel rushed, even though we came in at the 1/2 hour mark before the restaurant side closed *at 3pm* If you're looking for a really good coffee, pop in. They've got you covered.

Stopped in for a quick pastrie during the Christmas season. Capacity was limited to five customers, but the staff moved people through quickly, and were friendly and helpful, doing it. Despite the late hour in the day, there was still a great selection of cakes, cookies, breads and others bites of goodness. Oh: the apple danish is heavenly.

I have always loved the fresh baked goods from bread and butter. It's my guilty pleasure to come and walk through the Bakery while waiting on my turn at toast and jam. I am a big lover of the new birthday cake macaroon as well as the raspberry cake! The cakes are quite decadent and rich and therefore be careful with the order of the size. Must try : raspberry brownie and cheddar and herb scone! Perfect munchies while planning a road trip!

We've been going to the Bread & Butter Bakery since it opened years ago and believe it to be the best in Kingston. Wendy uses the very best ingredients in her bakery goods. Everything looks so good and is delicious to eat. We rotate among the many breads and especially enjoy the sourdough with nuts and fruit. The Maritime raisin bread is a favourite with the Grandkids. There are lots of items to take home for a meal. If you enjoy the bakery, you'll want to go next door to Wendy's recently opened Toast and Jam Restaurant.

After reading all the 5 star reviews the cake was in my opinion lacking an abundance of filling in the center, and the cake itself was dence. Didn't look like the picture on the website. UPDATE : credit where it's due. There has really been a turn around when it comes to customer service at this place. The staff are much more friendly and engaged - so let's bump it up to 4 stars ... Now if they could just fix the disorganization at checkout we will be looking at 5 stars. There should be a way to leave 3.5 stars because that's what I would be leaving ... First the good ... The prices are a bit on the expensive side but they come as close to "home made " as you can find in Kingston. The variety is wide and caters to a covers range of tastes. That's the good. The bad? Parking is always brutal on the weekends and the staff can be curt. A bit of personality and welcoming would go a LONG way in adding to their score. The location is out of the way however it's right in the middle between the west end and downtown. Final say ... If you don't want to make it yourself and are looking for a quality product buy here just don't expect a ton of smiles when you hand over your visa card.

Everytime I come to a new town, I seek the best croissant in town. This bakery does NOT have it. I purchased one in the morning. It was heavy in weight, instead of being light and almost hollow. It was very compact. The taste was not good. I didnt see the typical layers of flaky dough. I didnt taste the butter. It was more like bread in the shape of a croissant. Any store that calls itself a bakery and purports to sell croissants should master the basic croissant. Very disappointed. If you cannot make a decent croissant, remove this item from your offering.

My boyfriend and I have tried a loaf of bread and a chocolate butter cake and both were absolutely delicious and worth every penny! The cake was moist and very chocolatey and the icing was sweet but not too sweet which I like. The bread was probably the best whole wheat bread I've ever tried. Friendly staff, and great atmosphere. They have everything you can think of. Cakes, muffins, scones, brownies, tarts, fresh daily bread.

Food is always excellent. Curbside pick up and COVID protocols need alot of improvement during peak times. Sent my husband to do a curbside pickup at a preselected time. He arrived on time, if not a bit early. He called several times to have someone bring it out but no answer. I was at your Bakery yesterday and for the first time, bought a Chicken Pot Pie. It was so good and will now become one of my regular purchases. I was very impressed with how full it was with delicious white meat and nice, fork tender, chunky vegetables. I also picked up a couple of muffins...the mincemeat one was really good. In fact, I liked it so much that I think it should be part of your regular selection. It has now become my favorite muffin. I've been shopping at your Bakery for year's and never have I come away with a bad product. I, so love the fact, that you make everything by scratch. You're one of a kind, nowadays. Just keep doing what you've been doing, it serves the community so well.

I found this place because I was searching for the best bakery in Kingston and Bread and Butter is number one on the list. I bought a rasberry apple pecan pie. Because we were travelling so I didn't taste it until the next day. I was blown away by how good it was. I loved it so much I'm thinking about moving to Kingston just for it. Love it, will always remember it. The best pie I've ever had in my life and I eat a lot of pies.

We ordered scones, lemon squares, and macarons for an event and they were DELICIOUS. I'm still thinking about those macarons-wow! Also, the mini scones were gigantic but the perfect size for individual portions.

Bread and Butter makes the most delicious baked goods! Our favourites are the Confetti or Chocolate butter cakes, assorted macarons, ginger molasses cookies, and the cheddar & herb scones - to name only a few! Everything is amazing!

First time here... came to order a buttercream lemon cake for baptism. Cake look nice and simple... can't complain... but disappointed in the flavour. The cake itself was soft and not dry.... but again, it really lacked flavour.. couldn't really taste the lemon and overall the taste of the cake was boring and it really had no flavour to it, to the point I started to feel sick from eating it... 1 out of 8 people finished their cake.. lots of left over... sorry but disappointing. Thank goodness the cake only costed $35... wouldn't order from them again.
