We have tried to go here 4 times, waste of time. Usual and expected business hours don't apply, they were shut on a weekday and shut by 3 p.m. We have twice called when they were open to see the door open, food in the counter, staff standing behind the counter and then... "Sorry, we're closed". I guess the food is so overpriced they don't need the money, but we don't know as have never been able to buy any. We will not be trying a fifth time.anytime soon.

Great cafe style restaurant. The Cesar salad is really good. They have homemade soup everyday and their selection of German food is great. I enjoy the chicken cordon blue sandwich. It is quite big and it normally lasts for two meals. The shredded chicken or beef on a kaiser bun is also good, rich and filling.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches at this spot. Very well priced with large portions. Ordered the Cordon Bleu and the Beef Tomato Soup. The soup was a little bit too salty for my taste but the sandwich was fantastic. The chicken wasn't dry and they were quite generous with the cheese. If you are stopping by, grab one if you're on the go or sit in. Highly recommended!

We LOVE the chicken cordon blue. A family favourite. We order it with garlic butter spread. Amazing. They are always busy during the lunch hour so plan to wait a bit. The seating is limited when it's busy at the lunch hour. Worth the wait, so good! They do not take credit card so be prepared with cash or debit.

Having spent some time in the Okanagan, I've often seen and heard many great things about Wood Fire Bakery and have just tried it today. Overall, the experience and food quality exceeded my expectations and it was quite delicious. I enjoyed their Reuban Sub, it was made fresh to order, precisely to my liking and with whole ingredients. It came with the right amount of toppings and I was pleasantly surprised that the sub it was on, was toasted to the perfect crisp. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and savoured the flavors. Thank you for the excellent service and delicious food. I recommend that any local or tourist try this place out anytime.

I live in Northwestern Ontario and was visiting my Mom. Thought we would have lunch and stopped in. Very busy place and the smells were intoxicating. Even though it was extremely busy we received our order in record time. The food was simply delicious. One final note.....when you drive in you may want to go somewhere else because you will think there is no room and no service. DO NOT drive away. You will be sorry. The staff are quick and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

I always get the same thing here so I noticed right away when the women at the cash register started adding one dollar to the bill because I refuse to tip there(I only tip at restaurants). About a week or two later she is adding now $2 to my bill thinking I wouldn't notice. When I mentioned something she started to become very upset with me. Please do not go and support garbage places like these.

Thee stars because my girlfriend said her Clam Chowder was amazing. I had the "Smoked" been on Kaiser, not at all impressed. First it looked terrible on the plate, I've never seen beef that color. They poured an enormous amount of some sort of yellow sauce all over it, might have been a really runny mustard of some sort. Had to be eaten with fork and knife, way to messy any other way. I'd never order that again. The Cordon Bleu sandwich looked really good but was in such high demand there was a wait to get one.

This place is the defacto lunch spot for a lot of Kelownanites. It's food that I really haven't seen anywhere else. Service is great, the wait isn't bad at all. There is usually a line. Trust me, it's worth it. If you are unsure of what to get, try the hald and half or the chicken cordon bleu sub. Soup is good too.

This is exactly the type of place you might see on Triple D with Guy Fieri! ...all the right boxes ticked: casual, super popular, razor-focused menu (soup & sandwiches), weird hours, and a noisy atmosphere. CASH & DEBIT ONLY!!! The oven toasted subs are too delicious, served on a super soft mini french loaf. First time visitors should get the chicken cordon bleu or rueben. Self serve coffee machine was a tad confusing, but made a nice cup regardless.

It's not often you get an Ah-Hah moment. When you arrive at an eatery and the amount of food is more than you expect for the price and then the flavours far exceed those expectations again, you say to yourself "Holy Crap!!". The disappointment of course coming from the fact that I hadn't found out about this place sooner. First time visiting this restaurant, I walked in at 10:40am to purchase a gift card for my father. I was greeted with “hi lunch will be served at 11am.” I replied, “no worries, I just wanted to purchase a gift card please.” The server was clearly annoyed at my request and that I was nuisance to her. I left, then I called to let them know my impression and how unwelcome I felt. It was dismissed and I was told they made a special exception to sell to me early. Yet the doors are open and they are selling coffee. I am so disappointed and now I don’t even want to give the gift card to my dad.

Woodfire Bakery offers, hands down, the best lunch in Kelowna. Delicious, tasty, European style meals that are simply to die for... my personal favorite order is the chicken on Kaiser because their veloute sauce is something of a dream... torpedo subs are also amazing, highly recommended. Going to Woodfire has become a Monday through Saturday ritual for me, my husband and my friends and family. If they were open Sundays, chances are you would find me there around 12:15 pm. I've been coming to Wood Fire Bakery for many years at this point and I just LOVE the borscht soup and garlic bun (borscht soup only available on Saturday). They're my personal favourite combo. I have tried a myriad of their menu items and I can't say anything falls short. Wood Fire Bakery is a pillar in the community. When you walk in, it feels like you have “come home” and when you eat their meals, “Mom has ensured ‘the kids’ are happy and well fed” The line up can be long, eapecially around lunch time, but they do their best to make it a brief experience. This is traditional, home cooked recipes made with love and passion. Our favorite is the ham hocks with flavorflavour filling our bellies which creates the desire to wonder if ‘licking the plate’ is acceptable in public? Take away might address that embarassment, but I’m not sure if I would make it out of the parking lot.

The prices are very reasonable and you get so much great portioning at this beautiful little restaurant. Service is quick and pleasant. This place is THE BEST. Not so much of a hidden gem anymore in town. Gets super busy at lunch time. The roast beef in kaiser is perfection. All the soups are to die for, I could eat buckets of it (the borscht is my fave) I've had all the soups more than once, and have tried everything on the menu! I would recommend everything even if you think it is something you may not normally order.

Pretty disappointed with my recent experience here. I used to love this place for its cost to portion ratio. The chicken cordon bleu is a joke now. 12 bucks for a smaller bun and half the chicken they used to have at a cheaper price. I bought 2 of them, which ended up having the same amount of chicken as 1 used to have....24 bucks is a joke. The recipe is the same and it's a tasty sandwich but it's a RIP-off. I won't be going back.

Ordered was told about 7 mins fine. I wait other people order after me. Lady orders 4 to go . The cook calls cordon blue is ready I get to the counter . He says who ever smiles at him gets there food. As hes staring at the the young girl .she smiles get her 4 subs to go. I again have to wait for my subs. I finally only get 0ne of my 2 that I ordered. We shared it, then asked for our money back for the other one . I'm sure the guy cooking thinks hes a gift but I'm not a preforming seal trying to get food. I paid for it. Even the ladies beside him tried to say something but he shut them down saying She didn't smile so she can wait.

This place is an icon. On Harvey, between Ambrosi and Cooper, this restaurant is not trendy looking, it's packed, and the furnishings can only be described as "Early Canadian Cafe" but who cares. You go to Woodfire for the food and the vibe. The family that owns this restaurant has an unvarying, and not too extensive menu of the best food E V E R. Smoked meat, beef, and chicken served in a variety of open faced or baked sandwiches. To die for. The soup is homemade and awesome, and the way the orders are relayed both to the cooks and to the customers is funny. The place is always packed, there's often a line up, and it's worth every second of the any waiting you might do. This restaurant only serves lunch, so make sure you check the time before heading over.

Had the veloute chicken (a french sauce not german) on a kaiser. Flavour was just okay nothing special and very messy to eat. Bun got soggy very quickly. Boring and not at all satisfying. Companion had the bratwurst which was not great and was served with a mountain of mediocre sauerkraut. He would have liked the choice whether his bun was smothered in mustard or not. I am not sure why they can themselves a bakery. I expected I could get some sort of baked goods for dessert but no. We won't be going back.

One of the hidden gems of Kelowna. This is real home cooked delicious comfort food. I've frequented this restraunt for about 15 years and the staff is always friendly and fantastic and the food is always delicious. Cordon bleu sub is a must try as is the chicken veloute.

First visit yesterday. Couldn't eat as I have celiac and no gluten free options. However all I saw there looked phenomenal. I really only wanted a cup of coffee anyway. Can I say, hands down the BEST cup of coffee I've had I think ever. I asked if they had a non dairy creamer, and the young man said with their machine you really didn't need it. It actually comes out with a crema much like an espresso. Not sure what kind of bean they use, but WOW! And only $2. Their food looks incredible and the coffee is almost a religious experience.
