Good selection of baked goods from whole loaves to pastries. You can get coffee and teas and you get a cup to serve yourself. There is a lot of space with seating to dine in. The location is a little away from the city centre but I'm assuming it gets a lot of traffic from the local businesses at lunchtime.

I've been going here almost weekly for over 15 years for bread and other baked goods, they used to have amazing bread and awesome treats, but the last 5-6 months this place has gone down hill, badly. Bread is now much more expensive and doesnt taste as good, I buy sliced bread every week and lately it's been all over the place with loaf sizes and slice sizes, sometimes I get regular thickness slices, other times it's almost as thick as Texas bread. Once I even had a loaf with both thick and thin slices. Staff seems to be all new and not friendly, it's very sad to see the place I loved going to often take such a turn for the worse. Time to take my business elsewhere, I suggest you do the same!

I've bought some desserts here for work occasions & am always impressed with the service, prices & food!! The Kelownut is an excellent local treat and they are always willing to make a special order cake/cupcakes so long as you give about a days notice-just wonderful!! I'm planning to attend their breakfast as soon as possible as I've heard it's really good

Delivery Driver is a hazard on the roads, snow storm last night but I watch the delivery driver pace right beside 2 cars in the slow lane(roads are not plowed right and this is dangerous ). 80kph or higher on highway means you drive in the slow lane untill your turn comes(that the law) this driver stayed in the fast lane for since Winfield turned left at Edwards road. I was only able to get by him because I laid on the horn and the people in the slow lane slowed down (this driver even started slowing down with them Which means he isn't driving he is pacing at someone else's speed. Driving means you know who is around you and you drive safe . To many company vehicles are driving like idiots, I will keep giving these reviews to show that these company's do not care about the public as they hire these types of people.. Do not recommend this company to anyone.

Great, family friendly bistro/restaurant. They have plenty of pastry/dessert selection. Their food also tastes great! Although the location may he a little awkward, it should still be a place that everyone should check out.

This place has been one of my favourites since I was a little girl. Was always amazing. I recently came back to Kelowna for a visit and decided go here. It went very downhill. The prices are also ridiculous. A small , un iced, un decorated gingerbread man for 3$. Alright whatever , I can always count on the good ol' "Kelownut" donut. Boy was I wrong. Not only did the prices skyrocket (I understand inflation is a thing but this is ridiculous) but the baked goods are lacking the quality they once had. The donut was not only stale, but it didn't even contain the cream filling! Get it together.

I feel badly about having to post this review as this has been my go to bakery for years, but there are so many things that have changed, and not for the better! The Bauernbrot used to be my weekly choice of bread but the recipe has changed and tastes flat. It’s also $3 more than it used to be! The Kelownuts are now over $2 each and there’s NO cream in the middle anymore! My Dad used to love the bread from here as well but yesterday he told me that he doesn’t want it anymore. Neither do I. Sad that the quality just isn’t there anymore. I won’t be back :(

I'm torn. On the one hand... their "Kelownut" (their take on the famous Cronut) is phenomenal. Probably the best donut anywhere and well worth the $2.50. But on the other hand... they also have a Bistro. And it is obviously very popular. I'm just not sure why. The cafeteria style service is inefficient and impersonal. The prices are modest, but not really good value for the quality. And quality is my main concern. I would have figured a place this popular would make their own burger patties (I asked and was told they are just frozen patties) and considering they are attached to a bakery, I expected something special from the bread... but my sandwich had commercial sliced bread with some basic deli meat in the middle. Meh. I mean... it's ok. But yeah, 3 stars. 4 only because of the donut.

Nice little bakery and even better cafe, perfect for lunch. They have a little bit for everyone. Great soups and sandwich kinda menu. Doughnuts are miles above Timmies. They have a really good balanced flavor (sweet yet doughy) as opposed to Tim Horton's sugar infused lumps.

Great bakery with great assortment of bread & goodies! Picked up some French bread plus a giant loaf of marble rye. They have a self serve coffee bar with 5 flavors/styles. A wonderful elderly staff member explained all of this to us and offered some other information about the daily specials. The treats were very tasty!

I've driven past Specialty Baker & Bistro hundreds of times but never thought to stop. But when I was looking for somewhere to have some breakfast and wait for my car to be ready I stopped in. WOW, have I been missing out. I had the most perfect eggs benny with hash browns and they were quite possibly the best I have ever had...truth! The staff were very friendly, it has a cozy, homestyle feel and I will definitely be back!

So good. Kelownuts are a gift from the heavens. The Saturday breakfast buffet is stellar: eggs Benedict, donut french toast, the best hash browns, and... Kelownuts for dessert. If you have not partaken, you have not liven.

Kelownuts; the most delicious creation I have found that is acceptable to eat for breakfast. #winwin Anytime I find out someone is new to town I always recommend stopping here to pick up 1/2 dozen. For a birthday I purchased a cheesecake and everyone was comparing slice size to make sure they got the 'bigger piece' because it was THAT amazing. Ill never buy a cheesecake from anywhere else now.

It's been 6+ months since I have been back and I miss going for family brunch/get togethers there, but there are way better places to eat. It's a shame though. The food used to be so good. My recommendation: The Jammery or White Spot. Don't waste your $$$ here.

I can only attest to the quality of the donuts. Sure they're a bit more expensive than say Tim Hortons, but Specialty Bakery's fresh made Kelownuts are worth every penny. No tax on six, and not tax plus a free extra donut on a dozen. My only complaint is that my lack of self control leads me to eat 3+ of these monsters every time.

False advertising: they don’t have fresh baked gluten free bread. They had 3 or 4 frozen loaves of one kind of gluten free bread. Disappointing.

I want to start by saying the service here was incredible, smiling friendly faces and we got our food quickly. I got a maple walnut donut, it was lacking moisture and the icing-dougj ratio was out of wack. I ordered the full breakfast and my friend got a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast wrap. The quality of the ingredients was very high however everything was under seasoned and just lacked flavor. I'd 100% buy their amazing bread and cakes I don't recommend the donut i bought or their breakfast at this current time.

Specially is a Kelowna staple. I wouldn't go for the Saturday breakfast buffet, I don't think it's worth it. Famous for their donuts and other baked goods. The regular breakfast and lunch are good.

Everyone is so nice here and helpful. Great soup, I ordered a turkey sandwich on marble rye, and I received a tuna instead which is ok cause it was delicious. Great selection of Gluten Free breads & deserts????
