Great tacos! Tacos are small, which is authentic, so it's not a bad thing - but it means you should get at least 4 unless your not that hungry. Utilize the salsa bar. Tacos are a little dry without it. Sangria is delicious!

Delicious authentic mexican food. The tortas are majestic! A homemade bun which is crispy on the outside, yet fluffy on the inside. The sauces are amazing, tasty, a nice kick if needed. The enchiladas were so delicious, i had the beef enchiladas and the sauce had a spicy and a rich taste. Prices were great for what you get and had excellent service. I highly recommend this spot if you want something locally source, unique and delicious.

You can so tell that the owners are passionate about what they do; they are very hands on and their employees are so vibrant and treated like family. AND THE FOOD....Did I mention the food?!!! Nice spot for a quick bite. All tacos are a pass except for the papas chorizo which has potato in it. Wrong texture for a taco. Service is quick and friendly. The highlight is the assortment of salsas, they make the tacos. Clean attractive interior with a small patio out front. Well done, I will return. Forgot to take pics of the tacos but I assure you they look like tacos should.

Attended a friends wedding which had catering by El Taquero. I typically don't like the food served at weddings, as I am fairly selective, but thankfully El Taquero had options for everyone. They had four different types of taco meat to choose from: beef, chicken, pulled pork, and a vegetarian option. They also had a margarita bar which was a big hit. In the end, those who wanted seconds were able to get more and everyone left satisfied. That staff and the owner, Izzy, were all very nice and professional. If you are looking for a caterer for an event in the general Okanagan area then be sure to check out El Taquero!

We had Izzy, Marnie and their Team cater our small covid friendly wedding. It was absolutely delicious and they went above and beyond with the service! Marnie suggestion of the Mexican Prawn cocktail (not on the regular menu) was one of our favourite dishes! This is my favourite Mexican Restaurant in Kelowna, and now will be my go to for any catering for parties or any gatherings! Thank you guys and you will always have a special place in my heart for the great food you provided for my Wedding Day.

Wow the most yummy Mexican Food I have tasted in Kelowna so far :) We asked Marnie if she could cater our Vision Mechanical Ltd. backyard summer staff party . It was wonderful to allow them to do the cooking and serving and not to have to worry about it. The food was a big hit with our staff they love it. We will have them again next year.

Our bubble went to lunch at ElTaquero on Sunday March 14th and it was an amazing experience! The thing that really stood out was the fresh ingredients in the soft taco platter and nachos. The margaritas were second to none and why I didn’t accomplish much for the rest of day. Great service with great recommendations. We’ll be back.

The Beef Burrito I had from here was a sad and disappointing experience. I don't usually give negative reviews unless a business has monumentally screwed up but having eaten from other Mexican restaurants in Kelowna such as Latin Fiesta and Hector's Casa - they make El Taquero look like child's play by comparison. As a professional cook, I simply can't condone this establishment. My burrito was a soggy, poorly wrapped mix of tasteless beef brisket, shredded lettuce, what I assume was pico de gallo and my personal favorite, an overload of flavorless black beans. The combination of ingredients had no trace of Mexican flavors and instead embodied the efforts of someone's first time making a burrito with no culinary background. The burrito was served with rice on the side, which seemed to have the most flavor out of everything else that came with the dish, although it still didn't quite hit the spot for me. That also might've had something to do with the uncooked grains of rice mixed throughout and slowly chipping away at my teeth with every bite. I ate a small amount before I gave up. Now this is the only item I have tried off the menu so I can't say whether or not the rest of the food is like this but looking at the images online of the food from El Taquero, it would appear that this experience would likely be recurring for me. I'm not trying to personally attack the staff or management of this place. The service was friendly, warm and inviting. Despite that though, the food itself was not an enjoyable experience for me. I really would've loved to have seen more Mexican flavors in the brisket and would have much rather preferred refried beans in the burrito as opposed to just an unnecessary amount of plain whole black beans. Overall it felt like it was just lacking in everything I was craving from a Mexican restaurant. For an $11 burrito, this will likely be my one and only time visiting this establishment.

We asked El Taquero to cater a lunch for us recently and they did such an amazing job. The tacos were delicious and the two gentleman who ran the taco station were phenomenal. The service from start to finish was fantastic. I would definitely recommend using them for any sort of gathering or just stop by the shop to people watch on the patio and enjoy some tasty tacos.

Our first stop on the 6 day Okanagan tour was tacos and margaritas at El Taquero. Israel (Izzy) the owner takes his food and customers seriously as he was the one greeting us at the door and even came by to talk about his passion - Street tacos. We loved every bite of the Cochinita Pibil (over 200 ingredients we were passionately told), Carnitas, Coliflor and Papas Veganas.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. They have a good variety of soft tacos - pork, beef, chicken, chorizo, and veg. Watch out for the homemade salsa bar, it is dangerous! My mouth was burning for a long time afterwards. Friendly service and good prices. Loved the upbeat atmosphere too.

Wide selection of near taco options - beef/pork, chicken, vegetarian and fish. Lots of other options like quesadillas as well. Cool looking Margarita bar and they have a bunch of homemade salsas. The tacos were pretty good but didn't quite live up to our expectations. Weren't quite flavourful enough and the tortillas weren't warmed up.

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant, the owners and staff are beyond amazing. I would literally sell my first born child just to have a taco from this place. The food is authentic and fresh and they’re homemade salsas are to die for (can’t look at store bought salsa anymore). If I were on death row I’d request their food as my final meal. Compared to other Taco's I have had (i'm a big taco lover) these were pretty bad. I tried 4 different kinds (brisket, fish, and 2 chicken's) and all were lacking in flavour. If you love the taste of tortilla, then you'd love it! As well, the little salsa dishes where you go get your own salsa were all dirty (in the clean pile). So i had to use disposable ones. Major turn-off right there!

Amazing. I particularly enjoyed the Tinga Del Pollo and Carnitas tacos as well as the ample salsa selection. The interior is nice and well kept which is always a plus. Room for improvement: I only saw valentina hot sauce it would be great if they added cholula. Also, the potatoes in the Papas Con Chorizo taco were slightly undercooked, but now I'm just being nitpicky.

Driving by and saw the brightly coloured picnic tables so decided to give El Taquero a try. Ordered the Lunch Makers special for $11.99. On this day it was Tostadas, which came with one Asada and one Vegano (chorizo and potatoes). The tortilla was crispy and the toppings plentiful. A sampling of a variety of salsas from extra hot to mild, also accompanied it. The food was very tasty. Quantity just perfect for an early lunch. Appreciated the water at the table so we could refill on our own. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The cook even came out to check that everything was to our satisfaction…nice gesture! By the end of our lunch the patio was packed and people were lined up waiting. That is a good sign right there!

This is the second time going here. The food and service are great. We had a little bit of trouble with the menu having to be on my phone. This is not the place you want to go for good or even decent Mexican food it is not authentic at all and very limited menu that is grossly over priced. Go to latin fiesta or fiesta del sol for the best mexican food in town even Cantina del Centro which is a five minute walk away on bernard is a much better choice!

I had the mix 'n match street tacos (TINGA de RES, COCHINITA PIBIL, PESCADO VERACRUZ, HONGOS AL PASTOR). I liked that the tortillas were doubled so it doesn't get too messy. Lots of variety, but my favourites were the Pescado and Tinga (very juicy brisket in the latter).

I really like the look of this store and I did enjoy my meal from here. I grew up in California so I am used to a certain kind of "Mexican food" for me, this is not that. This is a Canadian version. It is tasty, just not authentic. I do want to give them another try and order tacos to go for my big family on a night we want to hang out at the beach for dinner. We will do that this summer and perhaps I'll update my review. On first impression, the price is a bit high and it's "Canadian-Mexican food"

I've been to El Taquero 4 times now for their delicious burrito and each time they have got my order wrong. The first time they forgot to add guac as requested. The second time I called ahead for my order and explained to the lady that the last time (after asking for guacamole in my burrito) they forgot to add it and she was very rude and said "we didn't forget, you have to ask for it, it's extra, we never forget" (I did ask). I got there and guess what..... No guac. The 3rd time.. NO GUAC and the last time I was there they put guac on the side. I give up

Needs some work. Their definition of spicey is very mild and the best fix they had was Valentina. If you didn't know in Mexico, they use Valentina in many kids treats such as corn bowls and chip bags because of it's mild flavor. If they could bump up their house hottest sauce, they would have a winner.

It’s a week later, my road trip through Kelowna is over, and I can’t stop thinking about the heaven that is this little place. Easily the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, the layers of texture and taste are incredible. The tacos were little bursts of mouth joy, small enough to allow for several glorious flavour selections. My favourite dish was the corn chowder; an elixir of pure epicurean joy delivered straight from the gods. I am sad I can’t eat here all the time. If you live in Kelowna, you should.

From bad to good. I had originally left a 1-star review after two back to back incidents, the first being a mix up in ingredients and the second being a missed order and improper refund. I was a frequent customer and had decided to no longer frequent this establishment based on these experiences. Fast forward a couple of months and I decided to stop back in on my way back to the office from a meeting. I was looking to get something close and convenient and stopped in for a tostada. Without mentioning anything or making any comments someone who I believe to be the owner came over to the till and told me that the meal was complimentary as an apology for the prior experience. I am surprised that they even knew who I was after 2 months of no longer going to the restaurant and without me mentioning the previous incident. I worked in the hospitality industry as a general manager for many years and 100% believe this is one of the best customer service experiences I have witnessed. For the owner to remember me and make the effort to rectify the situation after that long of time period is above and beyond. I will 100% be open to frequenting El Taquero again.

Excellent for a Vegan or Carnivore lunch made by people that care. I’ve eaten here 8x and have been impressed by the hospitality and culinary creativity presented. They remember faces, and take pride in their product. We usually go for the 5 vegan tacos and Mex beer, and never look at what the 5 different tacos will be before ordering - they create new options daily. NEVER disappointed.

Came on a Sunday morning and it wasn't as busy as it should be. Had 3 tacos and the burrito bowl. Carnitas were the best in life. Love the homemade hot sauces-- peach habanero was a fave. i had pretty high hopes for this place but i was extremely disappointed to say the least, the tacos were bland and the brisket was squishy and cold, the three beans on the side of the plate were sewer mush and the rice was dry and tasteless. when the waitress came to collect our plate it was obvious we didn't enjoy our meal because more than half the food was still there and when she asked if we enjoyed it i said we didn't which was brushed off with a laugh as she turned her back and walked away. i will say one thing though, the hot sauce on the table was a good substitute for flavour as it drowned out the taste of the swamp that was on the plate, thankfully.

What a wonderful experience to have. A very real taste of Mexico food in Kelowna. Menu options are interesting and many of the dishes are gluten free. Tasty and packs a bit of heat and spicy. Totally possible to increase that if you have a mind to. Drinks were yummy also worth a go. Margarita was wonderful. Staff was super and engaging. Prices are fair for portions. Worth a stop if you have that mexican itch to scratch.

I had such high hopes for the tacos here. I ordered one of each; beef, chicken, veggie, pork and fish... they were terrible. I couldn’t even manage to eat them. The fish taco tasted like a dirty sock. The green sauce they served with them was also gross. We also found a hair???? The only reason I give them two stars is because the chips and salsa were delicious. Also the prices seemed fair.

The smothered burritos were absolutely delicious. They have an array of salsas that allow you to spice it up the way you like. Staff was very friendly. Margaritas were also insanely delicious. Not a huge tequila fan but these were UNREAL. Would 100% come back.

El Taquero catered my wedding of 150 people a month or so ago. They were excellent to deal with throughout the whole process as they were flexible, prompt and truly care about what they do. At the reception the whole team was friendly and professional. On top of the that the food was amazing. All the guests were raving about it and no one was left hungry. I was particularly impressed at how quickly they got everyone through the line. Everything went so smoothly and I highly recommend using them for any event (or just eating at their restaurant cause is delicious).

I liked the decor & menu; the service was good but not great. Fresh tortillas and authentic beverage choices were a treat. The meat flavour was okay and there was a sauce that tasted like an ashtray smells (which was off putting). I would go back & would take company if they were in town and looking for a more unique Mexican food option in Kelowna. Location wise it’s handy but the parking in the area is lacking.

Marnie was incredibly easy to communicate with, and helped us determine which menu fit our needs. Their online platform made payment and document transfer easy. The price for catering services was very competitive and reasonable. Izzy and his service team were totally independent in the space we provided, and his staff worked hard to keep our timing on track and the reception space clean. The food was DELICIOUS and authentic; our guests raved about it. Highly recommend El Taquero’s catering service!

After a wonderful night in Kelowna my friend and I decided to go for some tacos. As soon as we got there we got one of the last available tables. It got super busy right upon our arrival. Despite the restaurant being packed, we were seated right away and had fantastic service. Between the two of us we tried most of the 4” tacos and they were all tied for first place. Unreal flavors. We decided to go for some Pacifico’s and got a nice healthy dose of limes to go with them. They also offered us complimentary pickled vegetables as a side which we pounced on. Amazing. Our server was a wonderful ray of sunshine from Bolivia and was always there for us and so lovely. The Chef also came out to bring us our food and was rightfully proud of his wonderful creation - he was great man! Bathrooms were very clean and pleasant. Lastly, the music was awesome, I heard them playing everything from the doors, to some sweet modern r&b, to a deep track off of an older Strokes album. I woke up today feeling alright, now I feel as though I could fly to the moon! Thank you!!! :) P.S. do not get me started on the house made pineapple hot sauce!

Nothing special really. The meat on all my tacos was really dry, as if it was hot-held since the morning. Red onions and cilantro as a topping is disappointing, you'd think you'd at least get some pico. The side sauces were real nice, but if that's what it takes to make a good dish, then the dish itself needs more work. The staff were real nice and accomodating though, so I can't say anything bad about them. The drinks were just fine as well, probably a better place to drink than to eat.

I'm so sad. Yo esperaba más. The restaurant decor is very nice, very clean. I had read the reviews and thought this was going to be the real thing! As I was missing the experience of back home. The "small" tacos are fine, thats how real tacos are. Real tacos also have the tortilla dipped in the juices of the meat or warmed up with a bit of fat. These tortillas were dry. The actual fillings were a bit disappointing. The papas con chorizo, I did not see chorizo and if the chorizo is all mushy, that's not chorizo. I did like the carnitas, and the tinga was ok, and I say this because it wasn't spicy enough. Which tinga is supposed to be, but I understand you catering to Kelowna. I had ordered beans and rice on the side and the portion was smaller than the tacos! Also what was up with putting the rice in a small molcajete? It took up the plate and felt unnecessary. I also wanted to have real agua finally and when I got agua de piña it had naranja /orange in it. Which I was not told and it was bitter.

The food was good and they have a Taco Tuesday deal which is 4 tacos and a drink. Be careful though because I went with 3 friends and all of us were charged full price because we didn’t pick from a specific list of drinks, despite telling the waitress that we wanted the deal when we ordered. Visited Kelowna with a bunch of awesome friends and the first night out we decided to get some Tacos! Read reviews and decided to try El Taquero. We wanted to enjoy our Air BNB so we ordered takeout. Food was good! but some orders were messed up, missing chips and incorrect protein. We called to advise the error and the server forward us to the owner. I had a chance to chat with the owner and she was friendly and made everything better! She provide us with a refund of the error and it was more than what we were expecting. My friend ordered a burrito bowl and it looked AWESOME! I will try the burrito bowl next time I come visit! Thank you for the experience!

I've eaten here multiple times and always had amazing food and good service. However on December 2nd around 3 pm we ordered 2 sets of 4 tacos and chips with pico de Gallo through skip the dishes. When it arrived half of one of our orders were upside down, spilled all over the box and it was clear they were put in the box like that, the driver was embarrassed he didn't notice and offered to take it back. The chips were 3 small soggy chips in each of our boxes and no Pico de Gallo to be seen. All of my tacos were half filled and the chorizo one was 8 pieces of potato and no meat. We were disappointed because we like this place so much.

If I could rate this place a zero I would. A few weeks ago my husband and I chose this place to celebrate our anniversary. Upon entering we were greeted by a nice young man who was about to take us to a seat. When one of the staff came up looked at us and said no we aren’t taking anymore tables because we’re closing soon. The way he spoke to us was rude and very unkind. We looked on the website after leaving and you were open till 9pm, We came in before 7:30pm. Not sure who this staff was, but definitely needs a lesson in manners and how to treat customers. Won’t be back!!!

Terrible. Went there for the first time yesterday Sunday, 15.00 (aka 3pm- slow time for restaraunts) July 25 2021. Walking in red t-shirt manager asked where we would like to sit, we said outside. No problem seat ourselves. Patio waitress came out once to take the two other tables orders (who were there before us) once to bring the drinks. No nod, no wave. Then brings drinks out for the two tables. By then a new customer sat down, still no acknowledgment for us. The waitess came out again to bring the customer who came after us water. We stood up and I leaned against the front door looking in to see 4 staff members, including the Manger. I looked in for 1 minute before one employee finally opined me as I waved goodbye. A male sever/busboy came outside twice during our time outside also, who could have pointed us out to the server, as the manager could have also. My spouse may go back for pick up, as I will never go back.

We’ve travelled through Mexico and love when we can find authentic Mexican flavours at home. Unfortunately this place had some of the worst tacos we’ve ever had. The burrito was okay but the tacos were flavourless. They do have a house made pineapple jalapeño sauce that’s amazing but it doesn’t make up for the food. A really great place to check out in Kelowna, it is super nice inside and they have a $6 margarita happy hour deal that applies to a few different ones, my favourite being the mango margarita. The place looks great and has a great atmosphere that draws you in. Service was quite good. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. I ordered one of each of the vegetarian tacos and a sangria. The ingredients were not fresh, were topped sparsely on each taco, and overall bland. The sangria was watery. My partner ordered from the meat taco menu and was equally displeased. Unfortunately, we won't be eating here again.

Met a girlfriend here for dinner on a weeknight. Service was quick, friendly and unobtrusive. My friend had the Ensalada Salpicon, and I had the Enchiladas Suizas. Presentation was typical of my experience of Mexico (round tin platters) and both of us thought our choices were excellent. The enchiladas were spicy, but not overly so. Really tasty. A very lovely and novel-feeling evening (thanks, COVID!) with a friend made even better by great food.

I ordered a burrito from SkipTheDishes. It tasted good (which is the only reason I will give you 2 stars instead of 1), but the burrito was fairly small. There are no size options on the menu on SkipTheDishes. I even had extra filling on my order and I barely noticed there was any meat inside my burrito. The burrito filling is wrapped in a medium sized white flour tortilla (no option for whole wheat? Why not?), but it's not filled to the brim; they put small portions inside and overwrap it, so each bite of the burrito contains almost as much tortilla as all the inside combined. Now, after finishing this burrito I ordered, I am left wondering what I am actually going to have for dinner tonight, because that was just an appetizer... I am incredibly disappointed and will not be ordering from this restaurant again. I would not recommend eating here if you are hungry, but it's okay if you just want a snack I guess.

Best authentic Mexican restaurant ever!! 4 tacos and a beer for 15$ each come with two corn tortillas so it's really 8 small delicious tacos. U can choose your favourite off of a Menu with about 12 choices. I tried all three chicken and a spicy beef! Each as unique as they sound. A new lunch staple for sure!! I had the lager beer and it was a great light choice (similar to bud) for a day beer! The owners are great at explaining what each dish is like and the cook brings his chef skills from Mexico City, where real Mexican food is soul food. They also have different salsas u can buy to take home for your family. Five stars from this new customer :)!!

Tacos were quite bland. No punch spice or flavour. Tacos themselves tasted synthetic and I don't think they're made in house. The spicy sauces were ok but you needed to douse the taco in it to get any sort of flavour. The beer selection and drinks were adequate, and the atmosphere is nice. Good central location. I'm new to Kelowna so can't offer an alternative but if you're looking for authentic Mexican flavours I'd search elsewhere.

Great tacos. Mix and match is awesome so you can try a bit of everything. My only issue is that some of the taco flavours were not super flavourful. Like the asada was great, but the chicken one with pumpkin was a little bland. The refried beans are out of this world! Also the salsa verde, on point!

Great tacos! My first time at El Taquero and it was fantastic!! I took my girlfriend for lunch here and we were amazing at all the different kinds of tacos they had. We ordered 2 sets of 4 tacos and after we devoured them ordered 5 more. Our only criticism would be that the tacos were small, 4" tacos. Going to a 5 or 6" tacos even if prices had to creep up would be better. We will definitely return.

Legit best Mexican food and friendly owners! Marnie and Izzy run a wonderful restaurant, everything is always so fresh and delicious! Their brunch is amazing as well! We even booked the restaurant at Christmas for a work function and they went above and beyond to ensure the night was a lot of fun! They are really passionate about their business and it shows in the taste and quality of the food. I can only assume people that are leaving poor reviews don't know what good quality food is....

The asian waitress (don't know her name) working here lacks basic customer service skills. We've been coming here for a long time, about 5 years. This time however, we had this new witness. She made us very uncomfortable the whole time she was serving us. I guess the pandemic made some people lonely and desperate, as she decided to only make heavy eye contact and only communicate with me, and completely ignore my wife. I got so uncomfortable so I started looking down and she finally started acknowledging my wife, but still wouldn't look her in the eyes once, even after I stopped engaging with her. She then decided to come right up close when giving me the bill, just to point at the total, which was unnecessary. It was very odd behavior, and we have never experienced this at this restaurant prior. The food was great like always. The other staff were warm friendly. Unfortunately, her being our server is the reason for the 1/5 review.

Mmm! This was quite the experience. It was nice finding a place that did Horchata up here in Canada, as well as an authentic street taco. The portions seem a little small at first, but are really filling. They also have breakfast options as well. My only issues are the hours- they're not open that late, but if you're looking for lunch downtown, come grab a seat here!

Awesome authentic tacos! Everything from the homemade salsas to the pickled vegetables were amazing. Great selection and reasonable prices. After our meal Izzy sold us some peppers we needed for a recipe we wanted to try at home, but couldn't find all the authentic Mexican ingredients in a typical grocery store. He told us to come by if we had any questions about the recipe or needed anything else. Super nice guy. Awesome staff, great food. Can't go wrong eating here!

Had a very flavourful light lunch for my first visit here. Best tortilla soup ever, with lots of fresh lime and chucks of avacados, plus 3 open faced taqueros . Food was flavourful and fresh. Service was friendly too, they noticed I was a " new gringo " and took the time to point out their specialty salsa selections. Pineapple.jalapeño was my favorite, I chickened out and didn't try the xxxhot

First things first you pay first at the till and they bring you your food and drink. I like that, makes it quick and easy. There is seating outside which is nice. Staff are friendly. Tacos have lots of meat of them, which is good, but could use some more toppings or something to bring it up another level.

Nice selection of tacos with different ingredients. Small 4" tortillas, street taco size. Tried five, all different and all very good, not great. My sister had a cheese quesadilla, which was a little to crisp and really lacking cheese. The fish was by far my favourite. The chocolate chicken was interesting and very flavourful. The pork carnitas was super juicy and tender.

Unique method of serving the age old taco. I had two spicy and two not so spicy beef tacos. Meat was tender and the cut lean, very tasty. I thought the flour tortillas way too small and there were lots of missing toppings like cheese, onion and lettuce? They should also add numbers beside the menu items because I don't pronounce Mexican words well so made ordering embarrassing but I am sure the staff got a good laugh from my sincere attempt. Most Mexican type restaurants give a small bowl of complimentary chips and salsa but here I had to pay so I didn't order it.

Glad to have found this place. Quite authentic street tacos (except the meat is probably better). I loved the variety of salsas and pickledo vegetables. Since I love my greens, I would like to see more fresh veggies. The service was great and the prices are reasonable. The drinks looked great but I didn't go there so can't give an accurate review. I do recommend this place and since it was the only good Mexican open at the time, I was really pleased.

One of my favourite spots in Kelowna! It's our go-to when we have family visiting and one of the only reasons we ever go downtown! The food is fantastic and amazing options for gluten free and vegan! Everything is freshly made and delicious. They catered our wedding as well and everyone loved the food! Can't say enough good things about El Taquero and the owners Izzy and Marnie :)

Where to start?? El Taquero catered our wedding last week, and they seriously made the night! Marnie was incredible to work with from day 1 with clear communication and ease in tailoring the menu for us (I'm vegan and she pulled out all the stops!). Her team showed up on time, fully prepared, and with awesome attitudes - they pitched in all night clearing plates/glasses (even the ones that weren't theirs) and taking care of the trash collected. They stayed until the end and left their space cleaner than before the event... I seriously cannot say enough great things about them! Oh and the food?! The margaritas?! Ah-mazing!! I'm still getting texts and messages from guests about how awesome everything was! Our celiac guests were especially impressed that they could actually eat everything! We were blown away by the quality, the experience, and the overall positivity that El Taquero brought to our wedding. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and bellies!) for being such a huge part of our big day!! xox The Langdons!

Authentic. Delicious. We got the 5 vegan tacos. Awesome. Only downside was they were a little expensive at $18. Watch out for the cactus habanero. It's quite spicy, and I even have a tolerance for heat.

Accidentally turned down the wrong street while hungry, then bam! This beautiful Mexican restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, look, taste, and service. There is a vast selection of options to choose from. Once you have ordered the chef will personally bring out your food to you. It makes it have a genuine feel. The aesthetic of the whole place is wonderful, they have amazing artwork, and all of the graphics are on point. To top it all off, the have a variety of home made sauces and pickled vegetables to garnish your food. And they are amazing. This place is a must try! I had the mixed tacos and will be going back to try the other wonders available.

I don't even live in Kelowna but I make sure to hit this place every time I visit my parents. One of the best taco joints outside of Mexico. Everything made in house including the home made salsas and pickled onions.

This is what an authentic mexican restaurant tastes like. Kudos to the owner of this place because he nailed it. The food and drinks were simply amazing but what it really blew my mind was the “esquite”, a very traditional snack in Mexico but hard to find in Canada. Make sure you try it, you will not regret :) The staff was super friendly and were constantly checking on us. To top it off, the prices were very decent when comparing with other restaurants in the area. Will definitely come back next time I’m in town. Gracias!

Clean restrooms. however I don't know what happened with my water with lime because it was like actual lime juice and sour as hell ???? We just had tacos which were very tasty and quite different than other Mexican restaurants I've been to! the fish was not fried and it was quite tasty and yummy, we had the pork and chicken one too Street parking lots of seating outside.

Finally a decently authentic taco shop in the Kelowna downtown. Featuring a flexible menu as well as a appealing variety of cocktails, liquor, and sodas. The Okanagan kid in me had to get an apple flavoured one. The tacos were delicious, fast and affordable. If you like tacos, this place should be on your list.

I received a very generous two for one offer on FB for burritos at El Taquero which I have always wanted to go to but never had the opportunity. So I rounded up a friend and we headed over there for Margarita Monday. Turns out it was the last day the restaurant would be open for three weeks. We tried a couple of different Margarita's, both delicious and I ordered the waitresses recommendation of the Prensado Burrito. Delicious and very filling, I could only eat half. My friend ordered the Tinga Chicken and he enjoyed the flavors as well...reminded him of Mexico to where he has vacationed many, many times. The staff were incredible...so friendly and accommodating ! The chefs even came out, introduced themselves and explained the various dishes in great detail. Gracious to Mundo, Izzy and the staff at El Taquero !!

We were pleasantly greeted immediately and asked if we’d come in before. We hadn’t, so she had lots of tips and suggestions for us. As a West Coast American I have pretty high standards for Mexican food, and this place is doing it right. I loved that someone from the kitchen came out to ask us how our food was (it was incredible). Reasonable prices too. The salsa bar with the pickled veg and onions was a nice addition, my mouth is watering thinking about it! The hibiscus margarita was a pleasant surprise. A perfect casual-but-elevated eatery.
