Adorable exterior and delicious baked goods, these guys know their pie shells! -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"
They make the best butter tarts
Last and stop on our Butter Tart Tour, although they had mostly fruit tarts we managed to try a plain one. It was very sweet and had an almost maple flavour, but the crust was tough and definitely overworked. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.
Great pies!
Drove from Minden based on reviews. Purchased a pumpkin and blueberry pie. Disappointed in both will not return.
You must try the Wild Bluberry Pie! You will be glad that you did! ????
Cute but pricy. Great selection
Friendly service, great food, and reasonable prices.
Sandwiches were what we expected - homemade and tasty, and the pumpkin tart was delicious! I was surprised by some of the responses left below as our experience with the young guy helping us was good.
Love this place!!
18 dollars for frozen butter tarts that were sub standard at best. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!
Good butter tarts.
I ordered 3 pies, pumpkin which was creamy and the best I I have ever had, coconut cream equally amazing and wild blueberry which was also delicious. People who don’t normally like blueberries we’re loving the pie, all around great experience highly recommend.
Great staff. Friendly and knowledgeable
Expensive. Soft ice creams were small. 2.75 for a square is pricey.
What a cute little shop. Picked up some butter tarts for dinner. So good. Almost as good as my grandmother's!
Best homemade pastries. Worth a 2 hr drive from the city. Delish! Butter tarts are among the best items here.
$18.00 for 6 butter tarts. Save your money and buy from the grocery store. Overpriced everything
This place is great, I always stop by when I'm in town. Pies, tarts, and sausage rolls, home made and reasonably priced.
I took my family on a “Guess Where Trip” called butter tart trail. The Little Pie Shack was our second stop of the day. Since we were on a butter tart tour I ordered six butter tarts. Two plain..two pecan and two raisin. Since we were in the PIE shack we also bought an apple pie. Our son had two scoops of ice cream. I was so excited to try the butter tarts that when we got back to the car I had to have one. The only issue was they were so fresh that the fill didn’t set up yet. I made a mess but it was worth it delicious. When we got home later in the day I tried a second one and it didn’t disappoint. We’ll try the pie after dinner. We’re from Brampton so I can’t drive up every weekend but I’ll be back for sure.
We bought the 6 pack mix 'n match squares and each one was amazing. Really liked the one called "Mars bar". Staff were friendly and the shop is very cute. I didn't find it all that expensive considering they are high quality "home made" goods and not mass produced. $20 a pie.
Didn't have time to stop, but always a treat when you can.
Fantastic little pie and ice-cream place. We dropped by after having lunch down the street to have something sweet, and we were not disappointed — and neither will you when you drop by! Try the cinnamon rools or the butter tarts ???????????? (you'll thank me later...)
Was visiting the area a few weeks ago and had to stop here for Pecan pie. Sooooo good...
Awesome pies and sweets, the pie crust is flakey and melts in your mouth. The berry pies are amazing, the raspberry and the blueberry especially. This a place I would recommend to anyone visiting the Kawarthas.
Amazing tarts and frozen chicken and beef pies! Just the ticket when you don't know what to make for dinner and feel like something home made.
I love the eastern sandwich and all the other ones. I can't help myself but buy all of the delicious treats and pies whenever we visit Fenlon. They serve massive ice cream cones too.
Had the pumpkin tart and it was delicious! Would definitely drive over an hour for them, again :)
I live in Ottawa now and every time I visit I make sure to go and pick up a pie to bring home. The lemon is amazing. I love the home made taste. So often when you buy a pie you can tell it is half "filler", when you get a fruit pie here it is PACKED with the good stuff. Sure you pay more for a pie here than at the grocery store but you get a far superior product. Great little local business. I had Joanne do sandwich and dessert trays for a party as well and was very impressed.
Yummy Magic Squares
Homemade, fresh, delicious ???? support local ❤
Got apple pie and few other items. Nothing to complain
First time stopping here. Stopped in on a bike ride up from Lindsay. Cute little shop with a large assortment of amazing looking pies and desserts. Had one of the best pecan butter tarts that I've ever had (and I've sampled a few????). Would certainly return here for treats again.
Nice little bake shop. Lots of treats. A bit pricy for a baked good, in my opinion, but tasty. We especially enjoyed the carrot cake. And it’s in a nice little town.
I dropped in here yesterday. I have a cottage in Fenelon. I have only shopped here 1 other time. Bought 6 squares for $15.00. I little pricey. After tasting a couple of them I noticed they all had the same taste. They tasted "fridgie". In a matter of 2 hours I was vomiting. You probably need to replace your fridges. Last time for this place! ????????
.Love those pies. Strawberry my fav
Very cool.
Came across this little place during our mini vacation in Bobcaygeon. The staff was very lovely and helpful. We bought 6 assorted squares and tarts, and some cranberry tea biscuits. Every single thing was incredibly delicious! If we had been staying longer, I 100% would have gone back for more!! I would add photos, but we ate everything before it occured to me to take pictures!
Its a small beautiful place sityated right in downtown. Best thing is they have their own kitchen and bake everything there. Went there to try the butter tarts, they were amazing. Cheesecake varieties are all, worth a try!!
Extremely rude lady at the cashier with no patience. The reason she got angry was due to their own miscordination. They need a sign infront of the cashier saying 'place your order here', instead of having to repeat your order to two employees. If I could give them zero stars I would. Poor customer service.
I work just down the street and often get a sandwich and a sweet treat for lunch. Everything they make is delicious and the service is top notch.
Very poor quality. The tarts had a freezer burn taste and the chocolate on the sweet marie's had white film on it. Definitely not fresh. They are cutting corners by freezing products for long periods of time and then selling at high prices. Won't be shopping here again.????
We got snacks to tie us over before lunch. Had a plain butter tart, raisin butter tart, and peanut butter brownie. They were all incredible - only complaint is that one of the tarts was so runny it fell apart and we lost a lot of the filling on the ground due to dripping. The flavour was great and we were more careful with the 2nd tart. We'd like to go back and try all the other delicious looking treats!
Great pies!
The coconut cream pie was delicious! One of the best ones I’ve had. We bought some whipped cream at the store and added it to the pie. Heavenly! Other squares were pretty good, but the coconut cream pie is a standout.
Baked goods looked really yummy but at over $3 per square I wasn't going to spend more money after being handed a $6 ice cream that barley went over the top of the cone.. It was small enough for me to leave a review about it. We got two ice cream cones, a can of pop and it was over $14. Wouldn't recommend ice cream but I would try the baked goods possibly.
Best pastry shop in Ontario
Staff have bad attitudes towards customers and that is reflected in many of the reviews below. The replies to customer reviews makes me wonder how they are still in business. Had their sandwiches and i would say a 10 year old could make a better one. Made on a cheap bread no condiments available no pickles no tomatoes on a Saturday at lunch time. It took 20 minutes to process a sandwich. No line ups and absolutely not busy. Only locals or family members could recommend this place because their is nothing else to compare to or go to in fenelon falls. Cant wait for the owners reply on this one. I do not recommend this place
Excellent baked goods, nice staff and well priced.
Made a stop here today to have some ice cream and butter tarts. It's a small place but has lots of variety from ice cream, pies, butter tarts, bars, sandwiches, premade salads and frozen foods, etc. The family got some ice cream cones and I had a butter tart. The butter tart had a tender pastry and a filling was was gooey and balanced in sweetness. Pretty good tart! The service was very friendly. Definitely a must stop if in town to see the falls...
Fantastic blueberry pie and pumpkin tarts! God place to also grab a sandwich- simple home cooked flavours.
Absolutely the best home made pies. Perfect for dealing with COVID ????
Was doing some work near by when I stopped here on two seperate days. What can I say... their pastries are good! not the best ive ever had, but very tasty if you enjoy rich pastries. I dont know what they were called but i got the chocolate stuff and a couple other assortments. Only gave 4 stars because its a bit pricier then I expected for the product. But i guess thats the "cost of doing business" as the short & snarky comments from the owner on these reviews like to tell you ????????????. What I really had my eyes on were those chicken pies! I recommend this place if you dont mind paying a premium, and I hope to return to try one of their frozen pies (they were about ~$20 if I recall correctly, and look to serve 2 people). I was also there in the summer when a young summer student just started working, she was good.
Strawberry rubarb was amazing going to try to try all your pies
Would have been 5 stars but had very low stock by noon.
Yummy yummy yummy
Amazing pastries!
Every time we head to the cottage I stop there. Feeling guilty :)
This is a very good bakery along with frozen entrees. Soup, lasagna, pot pies and very good cabbage rolls.
Good food friendly staff
Delicious treats!!!
Love this place!!! Great food!!
OMG the tarts are to die for! Great staff!
People who work there are very rude and disrespectful
the pies and tarts are to die for!
What happened to the delicious butter tarts your used to make. Bought a six pack this afternoon and I was so disappointed. From the pastry to the filling .... not the same and not nearly as good. Not sure if it was an off day or a new recipe.
While on a road trip, we stopped at this place to bye 6 butter tarts. Fortunately we had paper plates with us because with one bite, the entire tart filling ran out and we were left holding an empty tart shell. All 6 were thrown in the garbage. They should have a sign that says you can drink the tarts or provide spoons to scoop up the syrup. What a rip-off!
Great sandwiches and great soup!
Definitely not worth $18.00. Covid or no covid.
Fantastic service and baked goods! Highly recommended.
Just tried to get a sandwich at 4:28 kitchen closed but open till 5pm ?????? Not great service. Why can't I get a cornbeef sandwich 30min before they close. It's a sandwich not the kitchen
Great desserts for great prices.
Home baked goods so delish.
Great food and the staff here are an awesome bunch! The food is fresh and has a "homemade" taste to it. We have gotten cakes, soups and sandwiches catered multiple times. Try the peanut butter and jam sandwich, it's delicious
Absolutely Fantastic Homemade Pies... If you are in Fenelon Falls, Ontario you need to visit this charming little place and try their pies!
The pie shack has been my favourite bakery for years; however, I have been disappointed with crumble top apple tarts as they must have been frozen and then thawed and they tasted bad. I have also had a couple of blueberry pies which were like eating a thick glue and they were not good at all. I will continue to buy sandwiches because they are really good. I hope the fabulous apple crumble tarts and blueberry pies will return.
Great butter tarts, sausage rolls and obviously pies ????. Only thing that could make this place better is fresh baked breads
Just like a casino only bring what you want to spend everything awesome
Very bad customer service. Not welcoming to "outsiders". No direction where to place order and ordering process is very disorganized. Staff did not communicate to each other well. 2 stars because the place is cute to take pictures from the outside and pecan tart tasted good (although the filing was so runny it leaked all over the paper bag they gave me).
It is truly a little shack - just enough space for 5 - 6 people. They have a selected menu but an appealing one - especially for the kids. Kawartha ice creams, pies , butter tarts and some more stuff. It is located just off their main street and not difficult to find. Prices are quite reasonable and they accept both debit and cash. No credit card is accepted though.
One of the best Rubin's I have ever had...highly recommend if you want a great lunch !!
This is one of my favorite places to get lunch or dessert in town! My favorite pies would have to be, lemon meringue, cherry, wild blueberry and the strawberry pie. But for lunch , they make the freshest sandwiches with a good homemade feel and taste, but if you like a Reuben sandwich this is the place to get one... hands down the best Reuben I've ever had! I love this place !
Very expensive/over priced. Good selection of squares. Very runny tarts with not a lot of filling.
So far so good
Stopped here driving through Fenton Falls. A lovely little spot, we chose (clockwise from top left) a butter tart with raisins, date square, brownie, peanut butter brownie, Nanaimo bar and a date square. All were delicious! A nice spot to stop, had Kawartha Dairy ice cream too — not something we choose to have in November.
We were here on the summer of 2019! Beautiful town but the pies we bought were disgusting. Didnt even eat a few bites and 2 pies tossed in the trash! And no need to rudely respond you already have to my father's post
It's good but it's expensive
Delicious everything! And very friendly service.
