We were on our way to a Provincial Park and did a detour into Lakefield to stop by at Tim's. But stumbled into this place because I saw they roast Pilot coffee. Everything we got from Lakefield Bakery was awesome!! From the croissants to the Portuguese custard tarts to the spiced apple turnovers!! And their staff were so friendly! We'll make our way to Lakefield Bakery on purpose going forward!

Wow. Their baked goods are so good and they have gluten free options! Didn't get a chance to try the butter tarts but the pumpkin loaf and lemon squares were amazing!

We ordered some bread rolls from here for Christmas and they were really good about accommodating us even though it was relatively short notice. They had a bunch of cookies, cakes and all sorts of other things on display while I was in the shop that were really tempting. I vaguely also remember seeing sandwiches and soups, as well as coffee and tea. I'm going to go back there another day when I'm not pre-occupied and try some of their other wares. The bread rolls also went over really well with the family, so all in all, Lakefield Bakery is A-OK in my books!

Popped by here on the way through town looking for a sandwich. They were sold out, but Theresa (the owner) was delightful and a sharp business owner—she suggested the beef pastie, and also offered other suggestions. So I had the beef pastie: flakey, buttery pastry (think croissant) filled with nicely seasoned (sort of an Indian blend with cumin) ground beef, peas and potato. Simply fantastic. I also had a great blueberry scone ???? Beautiful, contemporary look, lovely service, and delicious food. Worth stopping by, even go out of your way to visit!

Pull over and run inside. It's worth it. We stopped on the way home from the cottage, and loved it. Butter tarts, cookies, and so much more. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food was amazing.

The butter tart Tour. The crust was nice but the filling had nothing in them. No pecans in the pecan tart no walnuts in the walnut tart. They just tasted like they were all plain. Very stingy. The woman was enforcing rules about limiting people in the store (we were the second "household" in the store) whilest not even having her mask on properly.

We regularly order lunch from the bakery for our events - they are a staff favourite! Everything we have ordered - from sandwiches to sweet treats - has been wonderful. For our latest employee lunch, the bakery staff took the time to individually package and label everything. We very much appreciate their attention to detail and care. We highly recommend, well, everything.

We’ve waited all summer for the Lakefield Bakery to open and it exceeded our expectations. Raisin bread, butter tarts (I’m in the raisin camp!), morning glory muffins, raspberry danish - all have been so yummy. And topped off with Pilot coffee! Lakefield Bakery rounds out the Market and Flannigans as the “foodie” corner of Lakefield. You have to visit - you won’t be disappointed and you’ll be back for more.

I have had the opportunity to have the hand rolled, scratch baguette and let me tell you this is not your average baguette!! Crisp on the outside and mouth watering on the inside!! There is something to be said for the patience and expertise that goes into hand crafting bread. If this is any indication of what is to come I will make the 3 hour drive just to get this incredible product! Well done!!! Can’t wait for more... PS I know the butter tarts are also going to be amazing thanks to Sharon!

Popped in for the first time to pick up some treats for a visit. Purchased the 9 grain bread and 6 buttertarts. The bread was amazing, still warm and soft and crunchy and worth every penny ($6). I wish I could say the same for the buttertarts. The pastry was good and flaky, but they were overcooked, not runny at all, the filling was mealy and not really even sweet, lacking flavour entirely. HUGE disappointment. They looked amazing, but we're so very underwhelming. The bread was 5 star, but the tarts would get zero if that was an option.

I took my family to Selwyn Beach in Lakefield and we stopped in at the lakefield bakery. This place is amazing! It’s clean, smells great, and has a very cool vibe to it. The food was so good, and the coffee they serve is from Pilot Coffee... absolutely delicious. I cannot say enough good about this bakery!

Every year we vacation in the area and there hasn’t been a bakery here for awhile. We were so happy to see a new bakery open in 2018. We had their cinnamon bun and it was really good. They also sell Pilot coffee which is one of our faves. You can also buy their beans to take home. Aside from sweets, you can also buy bread here.

D and I arrived just before their 4:00 closing. Owner, Theresa Kimmerer, welcomed us in and the fragrance of their baked goods were delightful. What turned into grabbing a lovely coffee to go, expanded to grabbing a six pack of peanut butter with peanut brittle cookies! How crazy good is that. Husband surprised me with the most delicious carrot cake I have ever had! Besides being super tasty, I was very impressed with the design which to my surprise was not done in fondant but actually with buttercream icing. I can't wait for all my future birthdays knowing that I'll be getting one of your cakes!

I have been wanting to visit this bakery for some time and I was not disappointed! It is clean, easily accessible (but safely run) during this insanely crazy Covid time with delicious pastries and other assorted goodies! The coffee is exceptional and well worth the visit even for it alone! A great place to visit for cottagers, locals and out-of-towners!!

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a date square, brownie and Chelsey buns. Without hesitation , the very best brownie we have ever tasted. Rich, soft and the perfect size for two!. The date square was also very large, decadent and enough for a small family !!! The Chelsey buns were also a hit at a gathering that evening. This place is worth the drive to Lakefield and will be a destination for us again and again.

Disappointment, anger, frustration, embarrassment describe my experience. Met to discuss details of a very special occasion cake, followed by emailed itemized details AND a design photo. All confirmed by email. Was told during first meeting, “leave it to the experts”. This 40 inch cake was handed over boxed in 2 boxes taped together. Unbeknownst to us, lose flaps of cardboard inside the box were not taped to hold the box in place resulting in cardboard flaps hitting the top of the cake tearing apart icing, lettering, a mess! I was in shock when we saw the cake. Not only the gouges, lettering pulled off, but how poorly it was designed, not anywhere as pretty as my photo, not a single bit of piping on top, “specifically” asked for and confirmed by email and phone call. Last phone call told again “leave it to the experts”. Immediately messaged my anger, frustration, disappointment, clearly very upset. It’s now been 9 days and not a single response from Theresa, not an apology, not a word. The cake itself, like their other pastries, pies, tarts, etc., the usual bakery fare, was very good. But if you want a Professional festive beautiful cake for your special occasion, your instructions followed, want to avoid embarrassment at your big event, go to a Professional cake maker.
