Absolutely the best pecan, walnut and raspberry/coconut tarts ever! Too bad the customer service is terrible; older lady has an attitude and is never friendly or smiles. I now avoid going in and send in my husband as I feel like I am bothering her when I order.

I just moved to the Kawarthas a few days ago and drove by the bakery. Stopped in and to my delight they had empire cookies. No matter where I am in the world if I see an empire cookie I try it. Most of them are no better than the ones I make. That changed today!!! I cannot even describe how delish and melt in your mouth these cookies were.

A little pricey, but totally worth every cent. We visited because we heard of the fine pastry, breads and other baked goods like BUTTER TARTS!!! Was not disappointing. All treats we tried were excellent!

Butter tart tour: The pumpkin butter tart was really good as well as the coconut one. Overall the tarts were good and dense.

Cream flakes will make your eyes roll back in your head. Butter tarts are absolute next level. Whether you are a sweet or savoury fan, Buns & Sweets is the place to stop in at.

This is a great little local bakery worth supporting. My favorite is their sticky buns, closely followed by their sausage rolls. They have lots of other things usually readily available like pies, squares, bread, buns etc. Their stock is very reliably available and fresh.

The other reviews were right on point and this is a sensational bakery...especially for pies, tarts and other delicious treats. The butter tarts were maybe the best I’ve ever had. Great crust and crust to filling ratio and super satisfying. Just had a slice of the lemon merengue pie we picked up and it was so damn good. Not too sweet, beautiful merengue and perfect crust. What a gem this lovely little place is!

Great bakery. Best buttertarts on the Kawartha buttertart trail if, like me, you like tarts that do not run all over when you take a bite. Breads are also excellant.
