They don't offer a lot and they were unable to make a cake I wanted

Popped in for a quick treat (absolutely perfect scone), and decided to buy a bag of Deadly Grounds Coffee. I am very particular about my coffee, as I am greatly addicted, yet some upset my body. I decided to buy a bag of medium roast Deadly Grounds. WOW! Absolutely delicious, in my honest opinion. I am sold! The lovely owner mentioned a sampling on Fridays. I do wish there was a little array of sampling of the different Deadly Grounds offerings, on one day. I will return, for both treats and coffee. Btw, the Coffee was raved about and suggested by, Quan's next door :)

Fair raisin butter tart. Crust was more like a shortbread cookie than pie crust with a very distinct cinnamon-sugar taste overall. On the small side. $2.75 + tax each.

This is the very best bakery. Those people who complain would rather go to a huge grocery store with ingredients that are not 100%. Everything I have tried here is delicious. They are very very accommodating. Just because they don’t go around with a great big smile means nothing. They work very hard. They get tired! Their cinnamon buns are the best. This is the only good real bakery in town. I hope they get lots of encouragement to keep going !

I came by in the late afternoon and was able to get half a lemon cake and some cookies. Everything I bought was delicious. I suggest getting there early as everything is made fresh and is first come first served. There wasn't much selection when I went by but I should have went earlier. I will definitely be back to try some other treats.

Baked 4 U is under new management as of October-November 2021. Pros and cons. Pros first, the food they bake is good. The cons. They don't have a lot of gluten free options like they used to. They open at 10 and nothing is there on the shelves. That's when they begin baking from it seems. Bakeries usually don't operate like that, they always are there hours before opening time so that food is ready to go when the door opens. Open means you are ready to sell. The older management knew this and had goods ready to go upon opening as well as baking to order. I feel what the new management might be doing to avoid waste is baking to order and putting out the bare minimum which I can understand if they aren't moving enough stock and if the whole drive of the business is to bake to order but it makes choices very slim if you walk in at 10 or even 11. The older management had a vast array of stock ready to go at all hours when I walked in. I would highly recommend the new management gets there early like most bakeries do and do your cooking BEFORE opening so there is a good selection ready to go at 10. No waiting on items in the oven. Again though, it depends what model of business they are operating now. Baking to order or baking to order with a few items out? I understand them not wanting things to go to waste. No point baking goods if no one buys them but from what I could tell, the last management had a system in place to assure those goods on shelves went out with orders or as people walked in they scooped them up. Again though, what do I know, I'm just a customer looking for Gluten Free options in the town. That's my 2 cents. I still recommend Baked 4 U. Just be willing to wait around or call ahead and ask them to bake it. Right now they are still the best gluten free bakery in Peterborough.
