Clean, organized and friendly staff. Although this place is not in everyones price range, it is altogether a well rounded store. Its It's very clean, not overly busy so you can still respectively distant yourself from others. My mother actually works there so we shop there often. (No they dont get a discount for working there...sigh..) The old manager Charlie has retired, shame he was a very nice man.... and Patty the new one has taken over and judging by the awful turn over rate there it mustn't be going very well for her.

Fresh seafood and meat. If you are looking for something special they always have it in stock. Hot pot (fondue chinoise) meat, Canton bouillon, fresh salmon, tasty lobsters they all have them. Very clean store with friendly staff. Military discount of 10% on everything each Tuesday.

The most ignorant staff i have seen. Never do reviews but decided this time its worth it. Managment needs to have better managment of staff instead of always outside smoking. Also be prepared to spend most of your evening in a linr up becUse they only ever have 1 cashier open because you will be asked to leave the express counter if you habe 5 items. Unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money else where!

Poor management at this location. Head office needs to school this management. 3 reasons (of a long list): The lineups are a mess, especially during this time people are crowding around the ends of the aisles budding each other and bumping into each other, confused as to where to go. It's as if the management has not looked at any of the other stores in southwestern Ontario and realized they need one dedicated line and a staff member to direct. Too cheap to pay for one employee to increase the efficiency and safety of the customers in this community. Management should also tell Laura the cashier to follow Metro store announcements that play frequently that the mask is supposed "cover the nose and face"... Management walked out of the office right in view of her and said/did nothing, if she has a nasal issue, management should be providing her a face shield. Visited a different Metro today in London and they have none of these issues. This location should be investigated by corporate. Do they not know how to label product pricing properly? Which price is this product for? (Image below)

It seams that a good bakery is hard to find, but Metro bakes normal Turnovers. This has been a find. Sure turnovers can be found in two other locations, but not the same. One flavor in particular that Metro makes is my fav Raspberry. I have found they are ok, but if you coul use a real raspberry jam filling like Smuckers it would make spending the almost $5.00 for a box of 4 worth my drive from the opposite end of town. You make turnovers good, but how about making the best turnovers?

Good quality produce and meat. They have what this store manager calls "WOW, what a deal" sales (a sign right at entrance way) on various items, weekly - especially on their butcher shop products - they truly are good deals. Their hot food, ready for pick-up is decent, but even more than decent is their pizza - you can call the store, ask for the deli, and pre-order your pizza pie. They use fresh ingredients (obviously, as they use ingredients from the store, and when cooked properly, is one of the better pies in town). This being said, when you get a veteran pizza maker their 'za is great, however, on the rare occasion, depending on who cooks it, it may come out a tad soggy (still edibly good). This location sells beer/cider/wine.

I've been shopping at the North Bay Metro for eight years. I love this Metro because it has a great selection of organic fruit and vegetables, eggs and meat, gluten-free foods as well as some cool international foods. I really love that they sell plain kefir and soup bones. (Bones can be tricky to find in grocery stores). Also, the cashiers are friendly and helpful and will pack your bags carefully. My only complaint is that there is rarely someone working behind the fish counter. The fresh seafood selection is great. But good luck trying to find anyone to serve you.

Great produce and meat selection. Beware of the deli section. Last week, I purchased Irresistible Artisan Goat's Milk Cheese. When I went to use it, I realized it was out of date... 3 MONTHS OUT OF DATE! I went to Metro today but could not return for a refund since I lost my receipt. I thought it was wise to alert the staff at the deli about the out of date product but when I tried to explain, I was responded to in a rude manner. The employee immediately went on the defensive and all I was trying to do was give them a heads up about an issue they could easily correct. Since the employees are unable to properly respond to my concerns, I implore the public to be aware of the expiration date on the products you purchase here.

While I do find that doing all my grocery shopping here can get expensive, I must admit the quality of the fresh food and the customer service is second to none. They do have excellent deals on some items and I always go here when I'm looking for a particular fresh ingredient, or for something hard to find. Their produce, meat, and floral departments are by far my favorites. The staff are amazing and I never regret coming here, even if I may pay a little extra. They are wheelchair accessible and staff will help you if you need extra assistance.

Metro is known for being convenient and 24 hours. However in St Thomas the Metro is probably the least convenient grocery store to go to as it is out of the way of most other shopping areas in town, and it closes at 10 or earlier on the weekends. Coupled with their higher prices than other grocery stores. It doesn't make much sense to shop here. Maybe when Elgin Mall picks up business or the Hilton Hotel opens, it might bring more customers and might make Metro a little bit more convenient to shop. Until then I would recommend staying around Talbot Street smart Center. (Superstore Walmart, dollar stores, A&W, Etc...)

Was there today at 2pm, Saturday September 14th. It was fairly busy, and after waiting in a line where the young cashier was obviously not trained to ring up vegetables (the customer in front of me), moved to cashier #2. As I approached, the young girl, in quite an angry tone, yelled "line 1 is open you know!" in front of a bunch of customers. I went to line 1 and apologized for "getting into trouble" (I didn't notice line 1 was empty). Seems that metro has cashiers that don't want to serve customers. The bakery here does amazing photo cakes! Fresh and tasty, even can put different flavours together in one cake. I sometimes pick up a hot meal here. I'd probably buy bread here for the family if they had some that was made and baked in store. I've been visiting this store for a few years and staff have always seemed friendly. Prices are higher than some others for items not on sale. There's no pharmacy in store but is one further down the mall and another in the medical building across the street. I read in newspaper that operating hours were reduced to prevent store from closing. Hopefully with so many people moving to St. Thomas, that will benefit area retailers.

I must say I am disappointed in the recent quaility of metro. This used to be a fine establishment but in the past few months has been going down hill. I purchased milk here that was curdled 2 weeks before expiration. I believe they have a refrigeration problem.. I've bought two bags of cereal that were open inside the box. And a box of crackers that was open as well. In addition the produce is not as fresh as it used to be. Especially the organic produce which is most often gone bad. Again I suspect a refrigeration problem. Also I find most the employees of this establishment to be rude and unhelpful. They hardly make eye contact with you as you cash out. Two stars

Today, May 5th 2018 at around 330pm I was in Metro in Trenton Ontario. And while walking through the store I stopped at a sample kiosk to try the Kellogg's protien bars. The gentleman that was presenting the sample was nice but something that surprised me was after trying the sample he leaned into me and very quietly ask me if I would pay him $4. He said, "Today is my very first day and the company I work for would like us to try and get $4 from each customer." I've never heard anyone ever ask me for money like that. So that makes me think because of the way he was asking, whispering it to me, this wasn't a company requirement. He was just begging for money. He was a man, looked to be in his 20s, full black beard and seemed to be possibly from india. I know the company who does the samples aren't Metro themselves but I'd like to contact the company that does to them and file a complaint.
