Bought some lunch from the hot foods counter the other day. The women working there (Sharon) was very informative and made sure I got exactly what I wanted and she was extremely friendly. I bought a half chicken and some onion rings, the food was top notch. I will be a repeat customer and I highly recommend it.

In order to spread people out for covid 19 they force everyone to enter and exit from the same door, brushing shoulders on the way out, thanks guys that’s very helpful. Fantastic store. Lots of parking. This store has a great garden centre to meet all your needs. Store is spacious and has a lot of specialty departments. Deli is great, fantastic bakery, best croissants in the city!!!! Can be pricey so watch for specials on things. Decent selection of products and specialty items.

Got some T-bone steaks the other day and they where tough as wood! The store is stalked 70% of the time with what you need. However the other 30% you are looking for something they don't have. Overall, not a bad establishment but a poor choice if you want variety. I will give them an extra point as the in-house bakery looks superb.

The store is a little dated, but it's a large store with an excellent selection and always has items in stock. Would love to see this location adapt a similar style as mall road, and have all the food stalls. Customer service is polite and efficient and the line ups are considerably better than other fortinos locations.

We started using Fortinos about two years ago because of the freshness of the fruits and vegetables and PC products availability. It's a bit more expensive than No Frills but that is taken care of with convenience, presentation, etc. We have been using the PC Express since the pandemic and find it adequate. As far as I know this store is the only one in the area to offer this service. I also get a chance to get a part of the PC Optimum Program which is one of the best rewards programs in my opinion. Aside from it having some HIGH prices, you get what you pay for...and sometimes it's worth it! I have found some cheaper items here than at other 'HEALTH FOOD STORES' so I'll be returning for those items! Cashiers are SOOOO friendly! You hardly ever have to wait. The self checkout,...sorry I am completely against those, but employees that are there, are VERY helpful! 5/5 stars!

Great Fortinos as most are. Always well stocked with nice wide and easily accessible aisles. Being now owned by Loblaws as is Shoppers Drug Mart among other large chains you can amass some excellent reward points saving some serious cash when you reach reward limits. The daily prepared food is on par with any Fortinos I've personally used in the Hamilton area. Cakes for special occasions can be bought here as with most or all Fortinos for a fair price with excellent quality. They offer a nice selections in their catalogue of cake designs for almost every occasion. My only gripe is they lack the daily made sushi or sushami trays like the one down in the McMaster area offers. Which is disheartening and nothing more. The staff are great and lines always move in a timely fashion.

I have shopped at this fortinos this entire pandemic. I have been polite I have wore a mask even tho I am medically exempted. Today I tried to stop in to grab some items for my family before a snow storm ( without a mask) and got harassed at the front door. Than proceeded to be harassed thruout the store. “When a customer or client is not complying with mask requirements, they must be asked to put on a mask. Businesses must recognize that there are exemptions for individuals who are unable to wear a mask. The law does not require a person to provide proof of their exemption. “ Educate yourself. You’re now part of the problem.

LOVE the PC-express service~!! I have always had exceptional service from everyone in that department. Josie is amazing~!!! So polite and thorough~!!! Always enjoy the treats at pick up too :) The quality of produce chosen for me is exceptional. It took me a bit to get use to ordering quantities of certain items like deli meats etc but being able to use the “comment” box made is super simple. The down side...and this is really the downside is the 4 parking spots that ignorant people park in who are not pc -express customers. They don’t realize, nor care that I have paid a pick up fee entitling me to that spot. IS THERE ANYWAY TO MOVE THOSE PARKING SPOTS TO THE REAR OF THE BUILDING??? please!!!

Best store in Canada! I just moved to an area where fortinos is easy to get to. Brings back so much nostalgia and memories from when I was a child. Always was so happy to go shopping with my parents because I loved the stores, with my mom being a manager at one location. I still get butterflies when I enter the stores. Mom would always buy me and my brother's drinks called Chubbys. We would be allowed to get one each when we went and if we behave. I wish The drink was still around, but the good times and memories are even better!

So my family loves watermelon all year round and I get that it's not always in season however, I brought back a watermelon to upper Wentworth fortinos a couple of weeks ago and asked to speak to the produce manager and all he said was "Do what you want get a new one or get your money back". So I asked him if I could get the new one cut pointed to the salad bar. I kind of expected better service then that because I was in upper james fortinos just looking at the watermelons and the produce manager came up to me and asked if he could cut one for me and when he returned he had samples for me to eat as well while I shopped. Now that's customer service!

I typically go to Fortinos. This one is smaller then others. They didn't have the milk I drink. Which is odd because it's just regular milk. We left and drove to the other Fortinos in Mall Rd.

A good range of products, including good quality fresh products. I find that the location of everything isn't always intuitive, with some product categories spread throughout the store. They do have the Beyers dairy free ice cream, which is the cheapest dairy and soy protein free option I've found yet.

The Fortinos is great, but watch yourself in the parking lot. Drivers simply do not care about the crosswalks in front of the store, I've had several people try to drive right into me as I tried to cross (with some seriously close calls). Also why on earth are kids allowed to sell chocolate bars (and etc.) in the parking lot? Despite the fact that they're kind of a nuisance, approaching me multiple times in one visit, but it's also pretty dangerous. They're weaving through parked cars, approaching moving cars, and knocking on random car windows if they see someone is inside. I really hope someone tells them to stop because it's otherwise a wonderful location to quickly grab groceries.

As far as Fortinos goes this is one of the smaller stores. Even though it is one of the smaller stores is still has a nice variety and is very clean. It has a great location and is good for quick shopping visits.

Love the employees and the selection is quite good. However, the location does show its age - compared to newer fortinos this location definitely shows its age. Produce of similar quality can be found for cheaper prices at other stores, so see if you can price match the item. Dairy is priced reasonably and the deli is quite expansive as well.

I like this grocery store because it has a lot of ready made food. There's, hot dishes like pizza, soup etc. There's lots of different salads, sandwiches etc. Also have lots of yummy desserts like brownies, cookies cheese cake etc. There are veggies, fruits trays with dips, spinach dip with bread. So good. There is a flower shop there, public washroom. Prices are good, people very nice, helpful. It's very clean and organized. Also they do picture cakes to order. I believe it takes a couple weeks notice to order cake. You should go if you haven't gone there. It is very helpful for people to get lunch there or if you just want to pick up dinner.

Josie from PC express is great. We have been using their curbside service since the pandemic began, and have consistently had great customer service. As far as going in the store, we have gone a handful of times but leave quite anxious. I'm not sure how the staff could help, so I still gave 5 stars, but the store is often crowded, and social distancing is definitely not enforced. We will stick to our PC Express for now. Grateful for all of the employees helping load my groceries safely.

Went to get groceries today Upper James Fortinos and only 1 person working on checkout, the self serve checkout with several people in line????. Unacceptable! The store was open 1.5 hours at that point there should have been someone on regular cash not self serve. Since I feel like putting my 2 cents worth, it would also be nice if that same store could move the large shelf between the Lotto and Flower shop. It's like a pilon restricting the flow of people trying to get out of the store. I've seen it hit so many times.

Terrible manager/supervisor at the flower center. I purchased a specific bouquet of flowers to be wrapped, due to a few bright blue flowers. Excellent Service from Sherry-Salad Bar Manager On September 1st, I had ordered two platters of fruits and vegetables for my staff meeting (on September 3rd). Sherry insisted that she prepare the platters early Tuesday morning in order for the food to be fresh for the meeting. She met me early Tuesday morning at 6:30am personally placing the platters in my car. If that's not top notch customer service, I don't what is. Fortinos is very lucky to employ such a dedicated and highly professional employee. Thank you for making this experience a very positive one!

I like the Upper James Rymal road location because I can usually get a disabled parking spot near the doors which means I can get in and out quickly. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. There's a wide variety of fresh produce and the bakery section Carrie's some gluten free baked goods.

They have recently installed self checkouts. But they have closed all of the 1 - 16 items express checkouts to force people to use the self serve option. If you don't want to use it (paying cash, just don't want to use them) expect long delays in checking out as you will be forced into waiting behind people with long orders. I have stopped shopping here.

Yesterday I went to buy fresh cake. They sold me spoiled cake. While eating the cake, My kid and me noticed that the cake is spoiled. I felt pain in my stomach after eating the cake. I was in early this morning. Not one person said good morning while I was shopping, not even the store owner, Jason, who I saw twice in the isle. It doesn't take much to show some courtesy to your customers especially when its quiet first thing in the morning. I "worked" here during my probation in the bakery a while ago. I wasn't very pleased with the management and it made me overwhelmed. I had others telling me to work slow and take my time meanwhile I had to work so fast. I kind of felt like they were picking favourites there, but I guess you have to work really really really really fast like you're running a terry fox run. Every shift I was doing garbage and didn't really learn the requirements of doing other things around the bakery fast. This is not a joke cause I literally came home one night and had breathing problems. I felt very un happy at the end. I wished to of gotten a better learning experience and had a better approach. Don't hate the place just wasn't good.

This store doesn't honor mask exemptions. Usually I do my own thing, get what I need and leave quickly. But I was very much bullied out of the store by a group of 5 men raising their voices at me, all while surrounding me well within my personal space! If you are that scared of my breath, why would you get so close? No public store can supercede the law. Funny thing is, the one worker wasn't even wearing a mask, just a face sheild. I actually felt unsafe, like I was going to get assaulted (I am a small woman btw)

Dreadful experience at Fortinis Eastgate. At the cashier with 2 orders of groceries. I put first order thru and paid by debit. While putting the second thru I noticed that my scarf had fallen somewhere in the store. I asked for help to find ii from the 4employees standing around the self checkout (no customers there) I moved with my cart to the customer care desk and was jumped by a thin dark haired employee who whowrestled and jostled my cart away from me. Shocked at what was happening I told her this was my stuff and paid for. She kept pulling and said it wasn't paid for..A young cashier politely realuzing what was happening came and told me my 2nd card had not went thru. Immediately I put the caed thu again. Sickened and traumatized. Shopped there 40yrs,

Unfortunate that Fortinos doesn't accept people with a medical exception from masks. Good thing they're not the only grocery store in the city so I will gladly spend my money at a company that doesn't discriminate people that physically cannot wear a mask.
