I am being generous just because I like the vibe and the coffee. The food leaves much to be desired. Ordered a Buttress bowl - it was 5 minute rice, a small portion of curry chicken, a handful of spinach and a tiny bit of shredded carrot. Rather unimaginative and not worth $12!!

It’s a lovely little cafe. I have been several times and I enjoy the care put into the decor and the menu. The seating is comfortable and attractive, the staff is nice. I haven’t tried any of the food items but it seems they have a good selection of normal cafe kind of stuff with vegan options.

I went to The Nook for a networking event after hours, and I had a fantastic time! They had a variety of snacks available, many delicious hot and cold beverages, and a few great beers to choose from. I went with a really great black lager and thoroughly enjoyed it throughout the night. They don't have beers on tap, but this is to be expected since they function primarily as a café. The Nook seems to attract a lot of people from the tech industry and trendy adults. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in a chill, artsy, clean, LGBT+ friendly café with great beer and snacks.

I love the Nook! Tucked in between Hammonds Plains and Bedford Hwy- this use to be a Starbucks which I used to come to meet people for work. The Nook has a special atmosphere;wonderful staff to boot- an example: I ordered a Maachi latte for the first time & it was not to my palettes liking. One of the staff so graciously offered to make me something else with no extra charge- that to me is A1 service. I did offer to pay but she kept insisting no that was ok. Their daily lunches and pastries are really good. If you’re ever hungry, stop by at The Nook and try their meals. You will not be disappointed. I really Love coming here whenever I get the opportunity to meet my clients. Lots of parking and kind, polite and professional staff, great coffee and delicious food makes this place one of my faves!

What a great little cafe and snack bar! I had a beet and spinach salad... It was huge and had something like 20 candied pecans. It was appropriate value at $9. Coffee was excellent and the booths are a joy to sit in for private conversation. Will definitely be back.

Lovely spot, and the beverages were wonderful. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and service was quick. Seating was a bit awkward and it can be a bit "cozy" if it's busy (which is mostly personal preference, but that might be a preference you wish to be aware of), but otherwise a great place to recharge.

This cafe earns my utmost respect. Not only is it my favorite cafe in the city, but its also my favorite place to purchase baked goods. It earns such a high rating from me because not only do they consistently provide amazing customer service, but they also have a program to help end food-insecurity. This is an incredibly inclusive place and no matter what background you come from, you will always feel respected and welcomed here. The one thing I would suggest would be to change the names of the menu items. Its a little bit awkward to order something called 'mmm bacon.' But alas if I could give this establishment more stars, I would. p.s. They have the best chai lattes in the city.

Beet salad = yummy. Good jams. .. So much so that one fella across the room sang right along with Brittany. Therefore points for entertainment ????. Wifi score ???? blueberry basil lemonade was good - but super tart - had to go back for the sweetner ..lol. yet another bathroom tidbit ... Need a key .. on a large wooden kitchen utensil .. for a bathroom that's right in plain sight directly across from the main counter .. sooooo there must be a reason - that I might not want to know - but the bathroom was lovely and clean, so score. One latte $4.50 .. pretty & good.

Been slowly checking this place out as i am a coffee enthusiast. Not black coffee. But the robust flavor along with a playful acidity, not to much though is enjoyable. The flavor is unlike the other coffee places as if it was i would turn and slowly go to the next to attempt the flavor. I have also tried the hemp bars as well as some of the delights this pleasing place has to offer and will try more. The staff are always nice, wish everyone i knew was so nice to be honest. Great atmosphere to be in as well as i just noticed an open mic every wednesday 7-9 pm. Sounds like fun and will be soon partaking in this little nook in Halifax NS.

More importantly is the outreach work being done with the token program that assist the hungry with securing good healthier food choices in times of need. My first time visiting Halifax and you can clearly see the effects of gentrification in this neighborhood. So inspiring and heartwarming to see a small business encouraging community support for all residents. If you are going to get coffee while you are out and about, please make your way to The Nook on Gottingen and spare an extra few dollars to help out.

They help the homeless ! They give out chips for coffee and a bagel to homeless people and shelters. The staff are very kind and the Nook is very nice.
