I tried TBL today for the first time as we ordered a birthday cake for pickup. For Halifax, The Bread Lounge is extremely well-priced ($8 for a sandwich, snack, and drink!!) and the food is fantastic. The spicy chicken sandwich was delish and the chocolate croissant tops the others I've had in the city. We ordered a raspberry chocolate birthday cake and it was large and beautifully decorated for only $25. Staff were kind and helpful, and the store did a great job of making their narrow space feel safe from a COVID perspective. Everything was well-marked and gave plenty of room to social distance. Looking forward to visiting again!

This was my first (and definitely not my last) time that I went to this location and I was extremely impressed with their decor, service, and selection of breads and pastries. I randomly selected different items to test them. I was not disappointed, they were fantastic, even rivaling some of the best boulangeries in France. I will be frequenting this establishment every chance that I can get, and I urge others to join in experiencing the wonderful flavours and flaky pastries that they have to offer.

Enter and first thing you notice is the amazing smell of fresh baked goods. Cus they're done on-site! Highly recommend the savory danishes (especially tomato cheese one). Lots of baked goods and tarts to choose from. Also serves sandwiches. Their coffee is done through a JavaBlend (local) machine that does the basics, so no "fancy" barista drinks here. But who cares? Get a nice tea or coffee and fill up on the treats! Small space that's cozy and always just the right amount of busy. Does close at 7pm so don't dilly dally to go check it out. New favourite place in the neighbourhood.

So after many, many recommendations, I finally went. I'm really glad I did. Not just for the quality of the food, which was great, but the prices are outstanding. I got a chicken pesto sandwich (which they put on the grill for me) along with a can of soda, 6 chocolate cannolis and 6 triple chocolate cookies, and including tax it was under $20. There are lots of fancy pastry shops that charge an arm and a leg for their stuff and are half as good. If you haven't gone to this place yet, or have been waiting for an excuse, don't wait any longer. Go. You won't regret it. Great service, amazing prices, outstanding food, and it's fast. Faster than you'll get a Whopper from across the street and it's real food. Do it. Do it NOW!

They have something quite rare: ready made paninis filled with delicious things like chicken or beef or ham or tomato and pesto. It's rare to find a place where you can pop in and just grab a sandwich that's already made, and they are delicious. They also have savoury pastries such as leek and parmesan, or tomato and cheddar. For those 2 reasons I will be back!

Found this place off of Uber eats ordered 4 or 5 times now, and is my new favorite place to order sandwiches. Especially getting them on a croissant. Wish I would of taken more photos. Pastries are also very good. The pricing is also very fair. Would definitely recommend anyone to check this place out! The menu selection isn’t the biggest but thats ok with me.

Ok. I heard about this Bakery from two different people on the same day. I had the good fortune to stop in for lunch the other day. It was just after noon and most of the tables (about a dozen) were full but my friend and I decided to try it out. It is not a large shop but it reminded me of the sandwich shops in Australia. They have their own 'in-house' bakery and sandwiches. The staff were super helpful. Their items are individually priced but they also have several bundles, that include coffee, for a special price. We picked the sandwich and two cookies with coffee - $8 tax inc. Everything we had was very tasty and we even got a refill on the delicious coffee. They also have a good assortment of special coffee like cappuccino or late. The tables filled and emptied several times as we found it very relaxing and not rushed. Highly recommended!

My spouse and I just wanted to order in something simple, so we got couple of sandwich combos, with drinks and dessert. The sandwiches were outstanding, and not only were the desserts we ordered delicious, there was a bonus deal of a slice of chocolate cake, and a surprise of two chocolate chip cookies. The cinnamon rolls were amazing. Will definitely order from there again.

Everything available at this place is amazing! Sandwiches, danishes, coffee, etc. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they really take the time to get to know their customers. A lot of regulars go here and and it's nice to be remembered and feel so welcomed. They have a great selection of things on their menu and seem to always be adding more! My favourite is that they have turkey bacon for breakfast sandwiches! Also the prices are super fair and reasonable. Definitely a must try!

I went there for lunch today; I got the vegetarian pesto sandwich and the soup of the day which was a cream of mushroom. This was the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my entire life. The soup was amazing as well. The service was fast and prices are low (between 8$ and 9$ for the whole thing + a drink). This place instantly became one of my favorite and I will definitely be going there again.

I was shopping next door at Attica and the delicious smells from this bakery were driving me crazy so I had to investigate. It's a lovely, welcoming, modern space. I look forward to coming back and having a cup of coffee here, but for this visit I was fixated on the pastries. I bought two cinnamon swirls and two pains au chocolat and had a brief chat with the German-trained owner/baker. So welcoming, so positive, so excited to be bringing these European pastries directly to Haligonians after years of selling wholesale only -- he's a delight and so are the baked goods. Never had better, and can't wait to come back! A real gem.

Heard through word of mouth that this place was great for lunches to go. Have tried several sandwiches now, including chicken and roast beef, and am happy to keep spreading the word. Add a house made iced tea and pastry or cake slice to your sandwich for a combo price. Lots of options for baked goods, sweet and savoury, to take home. The space is bright and clean but on the smaller side so current seating inside is limited. All seats have been full each time I've been in.

Bread lounge has multiple seating areas with a modern look and fairly roomy feel which is unique for a cafe. They have an excellent selection of pastries and sandwiches as well as some cute locally made products for sale. Their cakes are also delicious and can be customized. They are always open when other cafes are closed ( like on Mondays) and I appreciate that dedication.

Go once and you will become a regular! Croissants, danishes, bread, cakes and other pastries baked fresh on site all day long. Delicious sandwiches made with quality ingredients, and the coffee is always fresh brewed. A combo of sandwich, pastry and coffee is $8 taxes in. Service is always friendly, the owner is usually on site and greeting customers. If you are a first timer he'll probably tuck in an extra treat just so you can try more things! Comfy casual space to sit and relax, and new outdoor seating make this one of our favourite must stop places.

The Greek pasta salad had 1 cherry tomato, 5 slices of canned black olives, and like a tbsp of yellow peppers, there was no dressing and very little feta, definitely not worth the money they charge for plain noodles.. The pesto boccocini sandwich was very skimpy aswell. It had 1 singular tomato slice cut in half to stretch it across the sandwich and 5 pieces of spinach along with the boccocini and pesto. I honestly felt completely ripped off, bland and cheaply made. Will not be going back.

I went here to have a coffee with a friend. But I was disappointed to find they do not offer any gluten free snacks or sandwiches on gf bread. Gluten free options are very common and available in many places nowadays. Some other local cafes that don’t bake their own gluten free goods, sell Schoolhouse gluten free baked goods. Maybe that’s something the bread lounge would consider doing for those of us with celiac disease and gluten intolerance.

This place is fantastic. The sandwiches are so fresh and delicious. They are very flavourful, but not overpowering, so you can still appreciate the quality of the bread used on the sandwiches. The chicken salad sandwich is especially good, but they have a large selection of great sandwiches. The baked good are delicious, especially the blueberry cream cheese danish. What keeps me coming back again and again is the reasonableness of the prices. You really are getting good food for a good price which will allow your wallet to come back again and again. Service is friendly, efficient, and accurate. Very happy to have this establishment in our community.

Amazing! We ordered a cake for 20 people from The Bread Lounge Bakery, and it was awesome. Super moist, and yummy! The price was very reasonable at $25 all in for the cake which was a steal :) We are super duper happy with them, and will be getting our next cake from them forsure. Also the staff was lovely & very helpful since we needed it in a short period of time and with a custom message. Would recommend to everyone!

Clean establishment with a balanced variety of sweets and sandwiches. Coffee and tea selection is limited, but what is available is flavourful. Prices are what one expects of this type of business. I actually rate this place a 3.5. It is slightly above average but a place one can return to again and again.

They serve vegsn soft serve ice cream on a gluten-free sugar cone!!! And they have vegan cupcakes and chocolate mousse! I found the mousse too warm, but the staff are very friendly, and this is a super clean bakery. So impressed. One of my favourite places now in the city.
