They do gluten free and they do it well. Shout outs to their desserts and ciabatta buns. Have yet to try the samosas and pizza pockets but I'm looking forward to it. They also do gluten free cakes if you ask in advance.

It wasn't first time eating gluten free food, all the treats looked like they were straight out of a magazine but they were SO SWEET! I'm told gluten free food is normally sweeter than food with gluten, but this was sweet enough to make you concerned about your sugar levels. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the place is cozy, but cold.

Wow! All I can say. It was so good to come into a restaurant and not have to worry about gluten free because everything was gluten free! Food was excellent, priced reasonable. The service was a little slow but I will definitely be back when I visit Halifax again.

Went to odell's cafe this morning hoping for a nice mothers day brunch before church. At 5 minutes to open the line up was already surrounding the doors but we were sure to keep our first spot in line so we could make it to church in time. There was already a sign on the window warning that a lot the bakery items had run out. Although we were first to sit, we were last to be served. I ordered a simple breakfast sandwich with bacon and my mother ordered hers with sausage. We had only water for drinks. It took 45 minutes to recieve our simple sandwiches (no apology for the wait). We were also disappointed that there was no appealing sides to the 6 dollar sandwich, not even a measly strawberry. The english muffin was tough but we choked it down still hoping to make the last half of service. It took 10 extra minutes for the server to figure out our bill, and she charged 2.75 extra for the bacon on my breakfast sandwich? Ended up paying 40 dollars for a breakfast we could have gotten at mcdonalds for $5 in 5 minutes. The counter lady also told my mother she couldnt have a free cupcake despite advertisment that she would recieve one and there being plenty left on the counter. The prices are truly outrageous here, i had high hopes as both i and my mother are celiac but we surely will not be returning.

This place was amazing, you would never know it was gluten free. Had a deep fried clams, something I haven’t had since going gluten free 12 years ago. Just like I remembered, delicious! Shared the clams and a poutine with my non-GF husband, we both loved them. Will be going back.

Our first visit to Odell’s will probably be our last. This place is very busy and the staff seemed frazzled. Maybe it was just a busy Saturday but we felt rushed and customer service was “meh”. The treats were ok and only the ginger cookies were yummy.

Since my husband was diagnosed as celiac, we have discovered the joys of this place. We liked it when it was in our own neighborhood in the north end, but it was small and cramped and they didn’t have a large menu. Mostly baked goods. Now with this location, wow! A better menu than many full restaurants, a much larger, beautiful space, and a modern café connected to the restaurant and bakery. Just fantastic. We loved our first meal here and my husband said he would be happy to make the trip to this area of the city to eat here any time. I had the broccoli salad which was a step up from the usual broccoli salad, and my husband was able to order fish and chips for the first time since being diagnosed. The fish and batter was delicious and the fries were good too. We will definitely be back.

On the advice of a friend we stopped in here and we were not disappointed. The location is tiny and super busy, the staff are friendly and really helpful. As this is a gluten free spot they gave us tips on some of the products and reheating the items we were taking home. We were a bit late to try the cinnamon rolls (which was what brought us in)so we’ll be back for those. The pizza crust, cookies and danish we bought were great.

There is no other cafe or restaurant in the city that caters to people with celiacs like Odell's. Even if you don't eat gluten free, their fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches and meals are among the best in the city, hands down. If you find yourself in the Farnham Gate area, stop by. At least get a muffin or a slice of delicious cream pie.

yesterday was my first time in the new location in Clayton park and i love the space they now have and larger menu and service is still great. only thing i am sad to see is their move from the north end to Clayton park but that's just me being selfish as i do not live there and its harder to get to but so worth the commute

Low rating completely related to the hospitality received. Atmosphere was unfriendly, not welcoming. It was our first time there so not familiar with menus, etc. Decor is lovely and coffee was excellent though. Would not return as staff did not make us feel welcomed at all.

Best gluten free bakery I've tried! Unfortunately I was too early for the kitchen but the muffins we had are the best gluten free I've had. The croissant was also delicious and that's a difficult gluten-free one to nail down. Service was absolutely perfect as well!

I know there is a stigma on gluten free. But honestly Odell's gluten free bakery takes a healthy alternative to a new level of awesome. The atmosphere, the staff, the food are simply great. I recommend trying the bagels with a nice coffee or tea. They always run out because they are so amazing. Go on stop reading this comment and take a drive or walk, what are you waiting for?

Considering they're a cafe, it seems that they do a remarkably poor job at making coffee. Their cappuccino tasted almost as if they made instant coffee and put warm, frothed milk on top. I've been two times now, and I've consistently left feeling disappointed.

I will have to say I have never been so disgusted in my life, my best friend and 8 year old godson were denied eat in service due to his vaccine status and then they proceeded to tell her it was a rule from RANS ???? which we know is a lie children under 12 do not have to be fully vaccinated ????

We shared the 2 piece pogos, fish and chips, and the donair poutine. We were blown away by the light batter that the fish and the pogos had. The pogos came with dipping sauces but had enough flavour that they could just be eaten alone. Everything was delicious!

I see from months earlier comments that staff are super friendly. Yesterday I found the atmosphere tense. The waitress had difficulty with computer. Women helping was not friendly. Never heard her tell waitress not to cash out. Was really snippy with waitress. No one looked happy. Very quiet. Food was ok. Not in hurry to go back. I have stroller and no one when leaving offered to help with double doors. I live close by. Too bad

Was disappointed to be told that you cannot make reservations for Saturdays. Was looking to eat out for my sons birthday as this is the only gluten free place with a kids menu. Was told that they could "likely" accommodate us (5 adults, 2 children) if we came early enough. This was really offputting and I'm so disappointed. I'll be cooking at home instead. I would also like to add that the owner hasn't responded to my complaint. Actually, they ignored it.

Today I had the most amazing breakfast sandwich made in my own kitchen made I made with your hamburger buns. It was so good and I was so happy, a tear literally came to my eye. My entire family has CD. We have sampled all your pockets, English muffins, all the dessert squares, and had a delicious chicken BLT sandwich made fresh in your café. Thank you so much. I am from calgary Alberta and we found this awesome little bakery. food there was amazing the people where extremely friendly and the prices where pretty good for gluten free food. the lasagna there was the beast gluten free I have ever had the bunns where really good and the loemon square was awesome over all I loved there food and would love to go back one day

Called last week to take my 8 year old out to eat. They told me the RANS says only full vaccinated are allowed eat in service. Called around and was told that was not the case and my child was allowed in to eat with a fully vaccinated adult. sent an email to RANS and got the answer back below. Since then the store has tried taking the stance of "we can make whatever policy we want". The guidelines state the policies have to be legal and ethical, denying someone service based on something out of their control such as their age and the fact that age group is not able to be fully vaccinated is not ethical. If they are willing to lie about this to "save face" what else are they lying about. Would not trust them with your sensitive dietary needs.

The food was good overall but the service was bad. We waited 25 minutes for a waitress to come take our order ( the restaurant only had 4 other patrons) and she forgot things we ordered. We also had to ask for a glass of water.

Paradise for people with celiac disease. We were visiting from Montreal and we came for lunch here two days in a row. The fish and chips are excellent and their assortment of breads and baked goods are the best that I have had (we got some to go). I wish we had a place like this back home.
