There's always those days, even at your go-to coffee shop which usually serves good coffee, when the brew is just "bleh" and you just blew $3-4. Narrow Espresso is one of those rare spots where that never happens -- AJ and his team are consummate perfectionists. And at the same time, super down-to-earth and the friendliest service!

Great little place! We were in Halifax last week and this was about 5 min from our AirBnB so we decided to check it out. We went back 3 or 4 times throughout the week. Coffee was good, and we loved the big cookies. We were hoping to try the breakfast sandwiches but didn't get around to it. The service was always prompt and friendly and the milk station was well-stocked. It is literally a narrow space, but they've made room for some limited seating, which I would have happily taken advantage of if we'd had more time.

I absolutely love this place and feel that it's one of the most underrated independent coffee shops in the area. I think part of the reason for that is that it's so easy to m issue when walking by. Literally blink and you miss it, especially if you're distracted by the crowds often present at Darrell's next door. Their espresso is of course out of this world, with all of their beans carefully picked from fair trade sources. They offer a variety of other drinks of course, but I would recommend starting with at least an espresso. They also make delicious breakfast sandwiches and all sorts of other snacks are available too. It's incredibly cramped inside, but that adds to the charm (as long as it isn't too too busy). Highly recommend this place and will return again and again in the future.

On my first visit here we ordered a Delicious Matcha Latte, mango smoothie, a freshly baked cinnamon roll and cranberry muffin each. I am sure the rest of the menu is also delicious. Great friendly staff and reasonable pricing with convenient hours

Very nice espresso and associated drinks, plus totally decent food. Solid muffins, breakfast sandwiches that are just what you'll want when you think, "breakfast sandwich." Very tiny - best for takeout. Typically very, very friendly staff.

Always, always, always a great cup of coffee. They use the North Mountain brew of coffee. I get a dark roast, but usually it’s the ginger latte that is my go to. Pair it with a cinnamon bun and you have the perfect start to the day. The owner and his staff are the best - always friendly, great service. Best coffee place in Halifax hands down.

High chairs, narrow everything as promised. Disappointed to see north mountain coffee more than a few places carry these beans in Halifax. 2 dollar coffee was taxes included in price. Lots of size options. Will return for the espresso.

This place has the absolute best coffee and espresso in town, hands down. The owner works really hard, he's super friendly, and he has awesome staff. No matter how snowy it gets, the sidewalk is always shoveled. Their food is top notch and well priced, and I've even seen the owner dump out and remake an espresso that he wasn't satisfied with selling. Altogether this place gets an A+. The only downside is how small the place is. If it were bigger, I would definitely spend more time there.

Recommended. Dark roast is consistent. Real maple syrup and honey for sweetener. Fresh muffins are unexpectedly homemade-tasting and the energy cookies are unusually tasty and filling. Polite unencumbered environment.

I am all in love with this place. I tried here mostly all Tea they have and all are good but CHAI LATTE is top of all Awesome. If you are a Chai lover and an Indian I bet you, you will not get better Chai Tea anyother place in Halifax then they have. I tried black coffee with espresso in it, it was also cool. Moreover, As an Indian I should test Samosa everywhere ???? so I tested here and guess what? It was awesome as well. I mean change your name to AWESOME ESPRESSO???? I suggest at least visit once and try their best items, you will definitely enjoy it.

Probably my favourite coffee shops in the city. The coffee here is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is endearing. Good vegetarian options and fantastic macaroons. Serving North Mountain coffee, Narrow is a little place stuffed between Darrell’s and a Subway—it’s small enough that “busy” means more than 3 customers in the space. If you are on your own and looking for somewhere to study, check this place out but don't expect to be able to spread out on their small tables. If you aren’t into Celine Dion, make sure to bring headphones.
