Fresh baked products. I gave it a 4 because it’s not the best bakery but it’s a compromise, it’s really good. I also gave it a 4 because the coffee is a little mild. The staff is nice but not too smiley or welcoming. Another reason for the 4. They have a good variety of products. Including sandwiches for those who want to have fresh bread or want to take out.

The most sublime croissants in Halifax ???? The LF Bakery has the most light flakey and flavorful croissants in Halifax and most likely Nova Scotia too. the cheese croissant I had presented real, mature and aromatic aroma that just draws you in and the light flakey crust just seals the deal. I also had a very good café au lait that had, of course, to be finished off with another pair of croissants because it would have been a shame to let that coffee go to waste ???? Seriously, if you want a real treat after a miserable week, this is simplicity perfected.

Simply the best. This guys know how to do his bred / croissants & chocolatine. The best croissant in Nova Scotia I've ever tried. No doubt about that. Coffee is excellent and ALWAYS FRESH. So darling wife and I are out grocery shopping and she says "I want to have delicious donuts" and tells me to detour down Gottingen which I'm "grrrr, that's way out of our way" but I go cause why not. Five minutes later she offers me a raspberry filled. Let me tell you, I cannot for the life of me remember having a more delicious pastry than this lone donut. It's been 2 hours and I'm still raving about it. Good job LF, I'll be popping in to check out the rest of your wares soon.

Croissants are my item to search for, and this is one of the great ones. Not the chocolate croissant, a modern invention. The butter croissant, simple, and glorious when properly made. Crisp within the folds, soft inside, with the folds still apparent. Able to unwind so that you can have a small bite without the crumbles causing much of a fuss. LF is one of my top places on the continent. Thank you.

Good croissants, bread looks great. Quick and efficient service. Milk of our latte and cappuccino was noticeably burnt and tasted a bit off. Annoying the washroom is locked and you have to ask for a key. I understand the purpose, but when there's only two staff members and a queue of people waiting to order it's not easy getting the key.

I found it underwhelming. Croissants were NOT flaky at all, and just really flat/soft and sad looking fellas. If you want flaky croissants, try Two If By Sea in Dartmouth. I also got a sourdough bread and it was extremely dense with not enough air bubbles.

It's terrible that they don't respect to the customers. The Google map time shows that the bakery is open till 6:30 pm. We stopped by around 5pm and tried to get in but the door was locked. The working hours paper on the door was showing the same working hours as Google map. At least one guy was inside and saw that we are outside and trying to get in but he didn't care. If you can't supply till 6:30 you should change your working hours or you should let the customers come in and then apologies them that nothing is available to purchase. I've never seen such an unwelcomed bakery like lf bakery.

Having visited most of the bakeries in Halifax area I must say that LF Bakery is one of the best. Their tourbillon cinnamon rolls, chocolate pepitos and milk buns are a must try! I've never been disappointed with any of my purchases, always fresh. They have a great variety of homemade bread loaves to choose from. Prices are very reasonable compared with other local bakeries. Arrive earlier in the day to get the best selections as items quickly sell out.

I have been meaning to stop in here since co-worker had recommended it. Knowing my particular taste for baked goods, she was very confident that I would love this place - and I absolutely did. The line was out the door, literally, which is always a good sign. There were so many options it was difficult to choose, but we ended up with 5 different things. The doughnut was the shining star, for sure. My husband isn't a big fan of sweets, but said his nutella doughnut was the best he has ever had outside of Europe. I had a gruyere croissant which was light, buttery, flaky - using a strong cheese like gruyere was a brilliant idea. A very delicious balance! The pretzel wasnt my taste - it was very light and I do prefer dense and chewy, which I recognize is a personal preference. We are excited to return and try other items!!

Pretty good price for a cup of coffee. Decent pastries too! Service was lacking. I walked in and I was the only one in the restaurant, but the person behind the counter didn't lift their head to greet me. So I greeted them, but only after a few seconds did they finally greet me. It seemed they were distracted by their computer. But even when they realized I was there the service was still unfriendly. So much potential for this cute little bakery.

I've tried the rhubarb custard tart (amazing), the dark chocolate croissant-looking triangular pastry (forgive me but I forget what it's called, it starts with a P I think - and was delish), the cappuccino, and the olive pretzel-like bread (addictive!). I've been told by city-folk from away that it's the best bakery among those tries in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax. Authentic French bread and pastries. Just go!

I've been there a few times, at around 11am and afternoon. The staff are nice but every time I went there, I couldn't find the almond croissants or some other pastries from their menu which made me very disappointed. Is that too much to expect bakeries to prepare more pastries if they know that their pastries inventory are sold out so early, or at least prepare again? Other than that - their chocolate croissant is very good, but the amount of chocolate there is small though. The cinnamon pastry was bad - the cinnamon sauce stuck so hard on my teeth that I struggled to get it removed. When I was there, napkins and sweeteners weren't served, that was disappointing as well. I'd definitely go there again but probably very early, if I want to get any of their other products.

Fantastic little bakery on Gottigen St specializing in French goods. Staff is always friendly and the food is always made fresh that day. Personal favourites are the pan au chocolat and the palmiers. Thst also serve a variety of coffee products as well. Great place to stop in for a rest and a bite to eat. A+

Delicious baked goods. We’ve stopped by here on two separate occasions due to the delicious food. We’ve had the apple tart, blueberry tart, chocolatines, the raspberry Beignets, the lobster roll, the pizza, the coffee and tea. Everything was great. Only wish the chocolatines had more filling. Go early as the selection is limited after 10 AM.
