Great atmosphere. Extremely effecient. Line was outside the door and along the block, but they were still able to get orders out in a timely fashion. Definitely worth a visit if you're on Quinpool.

Visiting the area and stopped in for a couple of take out Americanos. Cute little spot. Busy on a Saturday morning. Lots of folks eating food that looked and smelled good. One thing made me slightly uncomfortable; when the young lady at the counter took my order, she said, "There's an option to add a tip. Would you like to add a tip today"? That felt a little pushy.

Coming here was a mistake. I had high expectations initially. I ordered a latte with soy milk, yet it tasted water down and bland. The bagel sandwich with egg and pesto had a thin ring of pesto around one side, and you could not taste it, and the bagel was stale almost hard. I was surprised to pay so much when I ended up not being able to stomach either items, disposing of both. Just a warning to avoid going late because the quality may not be consistent. Staff were really nice however, but I feel the food needs improvement.

This isn't just a place for amazing coffee and food, but a place for the community to band together in various ways. Yoga evenings, local markets, live music, and more. This quaint little café is certainly the heart of Quinpool. Be sure to try their famous 'Carrot Spice Latte'. You won't be disappointed.

Dilly Dally service is always so friendly, and I love their drink options and ever changing selection of baked goods. A favourite spot for a casual - but beautiful and delicious - coffee shop brunch. Appreciate that they have non caffeine alternatives like golden milk, but the flat white and a fried egg Sammy (add bacon) is my go to!

Delightful experience. We had a danish croissant with lemon curd and pistachios, avocado toast (best ever tried), and sunshine yogurt sundae (amazing). I would definitely recommend this lovely place. Staff friendly and helpful!

I am a frequent visitor to Dilly Dally and marvel that one small Halifax business can have such incredible staff who are always consistently utterly charming and know pretty well all of the regulars' names. I give Laura, my highest regards as she is the most upbeat person, I think I have ever encountered and is the ultimate people person and so compassionate and caring. Ray is on top of having everything well oiled in the tiny kitchen producing yummy, yummy goodies. Kudos to them all and long may they reign glorious and free.

Easy Coast

I’ve gotten the occasional coffee from here, but never really realized they had such a big food menu. This morning I had to swing by Quinpool before work so I stopped in for a coffee & possibly some breakfast. I was blown away, best BLT I’ve ever had. I highly recommend trying something off their menu, I will most definitely be back soon.

Absolutely amazing! We had the egg sandwich, the ham and brie sandwich and the parfait. Plus strawberry lemonade iced tea and Americano...the food and drink was the best breakfast we've had in years. This place is so good, we almost stayed another night in Halifax just to get it again! :)

Truly excellent service and food. Dilly Dally serves wonderful dishes and baked goods made in house, while also carrying some local treasures like Java Blend coffee and Montreal Style Bagels (the tiny shop by the MacDonald bridge). Try the smoked salmon scramble or the alpine muesli! Both are delicious and unique dishes in Halifax's cafe scene.

A beautiful little spot with a perfect mix of good atmosphere and charm. The lunch and breakfast menu is limited, but appealing; with a quality over quantity approach that I can't be mad at. The drink menu is varied and has something for everyone, from regular drip coffee to fancy lattes. Free WiFi and friendly service is the cherry on top.

Ordered an Americano and an everything bagel with butter. Americano was smooth and tasty. Bagel tasted amazing, tasted home baked. It actually was noticeably tastier than your average bagel. Staff were super friendly as well. I'll be coming back.

Love this place! Food, service, and overall vibe is all one of a kind. On top of delicious food (sandwiches, pastries, and coffees), they also sell local, hand crafted items like candles, soaps, and greeting cards. My only complaint is the space is very small so it's hard to rely on getting a table and can feel cramped during the lunch rush. Otherwise, the place is A1!

The COZIEST cafe in the city! We love this place as a go-to to take visitors, and for saturday-morning treat-yourselfs :) the golden milk and matcha tea lattes are incredible and the Americanos are equally as tasty. The decor/branding is great, and they create an incredible atmosphere. The baristas are always friendly and greet you with a smile. Be sure to start a loyalty card for your 10th drink free. There's a washroom, 3 parking spots out back (more on surrounding streets) about 10 tables, and miscellaneous decor for sale. They sell alcoholic drinks (random for a cafe) and delicious looking food. I say "looking" because I've never eaten but I'm sure it's tasty from seeing others' reactions! Starbucks is opening across the street, but I will forever stay a devoted customer to the Dilly Dally :)

This place is absolutely adorable ! They have amazing fresh options (including lots of VEGAN options and alternatives!) and their drinks are made to perfection. I've been following Dilly Dally for a while on IG so it's been on our "must try" list. Today was such a great day to walk around Halifax - and when I saw we were just up the street from Dilly Dally, we decided to pop by! First, this is the cutest little shop. Everything from the design, the layout, the colours, the patio - so much attention goes into keeping this community space beautiful. It was really welcoming. They have lots of great signage up and around re: how and wear to place your order, and even the sidewalk was marked for social distancing. I had a strawberry lemon iced tea and my husband had a iced mocha. Both were just what we needed for a long walk around town! But the real winner here was the panzerotti scone we had. Oh. My. Word. We should have bought two. I had my hopes up to try a babka (I've never had one before and their rotating flavours always look so delicious!) but they were sold out; always a good sign. We had such a great experience here, we will definitely be back again to try more things!

Dilly dally is great. The food is lovely and the coffee is awesome. It's no surprise that it's a Halifax favorite! So you may have difficulty sometimes finding a place to sit. I had the eggs on toast and also the egg Sammy. Both were great. Staff are super friendly too! Fantastic for breakfast.

The cutest cafe! They have their menu written on the side of the café, giving you ample time to figure out what you want to eat before ordering. With a large drink and food selection there'll be something for everyone! I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Both were made to look beautiful and tasted great. The grilled cheese was a little too sweet for my taste, but I ended up still enjoying my meal. Also the flavoured ice lattes are to die for on a hot summer day. Make sure to find a spot on the patio to sit and eat, it makes the food taste that much better!

Montreal bagel breakfast sandwich - need I say more?! Extra friendly staff, great coffee, cute space with a back patio. Morning glory muffin was also delicious. They carry a small collection of cards and other small gift items. Definitely Best of Halifax.

Do not go here if you need to use your laptop for work or studying as they are currently not allowing laptops in their cafe. I do not live near the cafe but wanted to try it out for a change of pace from working from home . I don't really understand the policy, but I just wish they would have informed me of this before I paid for my meal/beverage as I had to then leave and rush somewhere else in time for my meeting.

Convenient online ordering was a nice touch. You can also order in person of course. The coffee is among the best I have had. The food was sublime. But the most notable thing about my experience at Dilly Dally was the people. The service was fast and friendly. And the smiles were so wide, you could 'see' them right through the masks! Great Americano and croissants. Addendum: Today, Dec 4, 2021, I bought a Babka. So delicious. Although I haven't heard of a Babka before, it reminded me to similar pastry in Switzerland. I love it, not too sweet, not too wet, and not too filling, just perfect. That's how a pastry should be!

This place is awesome! Super cute locally owned cafe, with tons of food options. The sandwiches on display looked absolutely delicious, but I just wanted a snack so I had the cinnamon donut (soooo good), and a chai latte. The interior is a bit small but they do have a patio out back as well. The decorations inside were also really neat, and looked like some local artists had pieces for sale too.

I’m from out of town and like most vacationers have preferred spots to frequent and Dilly Dally is on my list of favorites. I am always impressed with their service with a smile, delicious meals and fresh hot coffee. The Goodness Bowl is a must try if you haven’t already. I can’t quite choose a favourite baked good as everything I’ve tried is exceptional!!

Got a very burned (black) grilled cheese once, and an egg bagel that was soggy and falling apart another day. They were busy both times, and so quality seemed to suffer. I'm glad they put starbucks out of business but it wasn't worth the price you pay for it.
