I live near by this shop. Everytime I used to pass it, thought of trying their stuff and never did for few months. But yesterday I stopped and I would say the best thing I did. Their bagels are so fresh and delicious. I talked to the owner and he said we make fresh batch daily. I visited them today again ???? I would definitely recommend this place if someone is bagel lover???? ????????

Lots of hype around the opening of Bagel Montreal Style... So we popped in to check it out. The smell when you walk through the door is heavenly! We watched a gentleman making bagels and sliding them into the wood fired oven on an incredibly long bagel paddle(?). We decided to pick 12 of the 13 kinds of bagels they had available so we could try them all. Oh man - these really are wonderful bagels! So far we've had the coconut and Montreal Steak Spice bagels are they were delightful. I can see this spot becoming a frequent stop on weekends. Oh - and there are more flavours coming too! Yum!

Edit: I just want to add that this has become a favourite spot for my husband and I, and we pop in for a bagel almost every weekend now. The only time I can get a Montreal bagel is - you guessed it - when I'm in Montreal. Thrilled to have someone who worked at St. Viateur making bagels the only way a bagel should be made - The Montreal way. Sesame and poppy are the best. Eat them raw or toasted - fantastic both ways!

Good customer service, very homey, wide variety of bagel flavours, and other assortments of snacks. Bagels are a bit on the smaller side, but this allows you to eat 6 bagels. Sun dried tomato bagel was underwhelming, but the blueberry cream cheese is DELICIOUSSS. Prices were decent :)

I've been trying to eat less bread, so this place really didn't have much to offer me. Some of the specialty bagels were veryy tempting, but I was able to resist. I got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, but left hungry, as I wasn't willing to eat a second bagel.

Straight up delicious bagels. Fun assortment of flavour variations to try. Had their smoked salmon on poppyseed. Super satisfying lunch treat. Their decore is... Let's say... Provisional? But that hardly matters when you bite through the light crunch of the baked skin, and enjoy the perfect chew of the gummy dough. It is not a perfect replication of a Montreal bagel, but it is a local variant that we ought to be proud of.

If you like bagels... you need to go here. If you don't like bagels... you need to go here! In my opinion... Montreal bagels are the best bagels the world has to offer. Many bagel shops try very hard to reproduce the Montreal bagel... and none had ever done it.... until now. Wood fired brick oven... fresh fresh fresh! Tons of different options. My goto is always the sesame bagel. But I've tried many kinds here and all are excellent. Coconut is my # 2. Try them! Try them! You will see!

Montreal style bagels are the best. This unassuming little place is tucked away in a little strip mall in Dartmouth. My 12 year old loved the strawberry and the cheese bagels. Their breakfast bagels are really good as well. The prices are very reasonable.

I saw this on Halifax Retales and on television and had to try it. I've been here twice and the bagels are amazing. I tried the poppyseed and the Montreal steak spicy ones and have to say that the Montreal steak spicy is my all time favourite. The prices are really reasonable for getting one bagel with a drink or even half a dozen. Definitely one of the new places in Dartmouth that you have to check out!

I lived in Montreal for years and now visit several times a year. I have to have a genuine when I am there. I had a chance to stop in at Bagel Montreal Style, in Dartmouth. The bagels are pretty close to the real thing. There was something missing but they are so much better than the bakery ones that are really just bread made in a circle!

I’ve been to St Viateur in Montreal and this place is not authentic. The bagels were rock hard, misshaped and not fresh/tough. The store is sorely lacking in cleanliness (seems to be a common theme). Sticky counters and tacky/dirty pin pad and display counter. Yuck!

Wonderful place. Staff was friendly and the place was clean an tidy. Prices were incredibly reasonable and the bagels were delicious. I went three times, once at 1pm on a Saturday and it was very busy, so we left and went back again just before closing the same day. The next time we went right when they opened on Sunday. Overall just a busy place, which is great! Just make sure to plan your trips accordingly or plan to wait to get them fresh from the oven.

This is my favorite place for breakfast. Very close to the bridge if you're on your way to work. Also some of the best bagels you'll get on this side if Montreal. You can get sandwiches on bagels, or take some bagels to go. Counter service and a few small tables for sitting. It can be busy with students from the nearby highschool between 11am and 12pm, but the service usually doesn't slow down to much. The coffee is best described as, "functional." Come for the bagels, not the coffee.

Tried here on a weekend after they first opened and it was later afternoon unfortunately, so 90% of their inventory had sold out for the day. My friend and I each ended up buying a lemon type pastry, and they were fine, but we were disappointed to not get to try a bagel. So after learning of the popularity of the place, I came back another morning to try their breakfast one with bacon & egg, and it was yum! Also have had the turkey club one for lunch one day. I've tried most of their flavors with butter or cream cheese via a coworker who picks them up on his way to the office many days. I think my favorites are the poppy seed or sesame seed. The strawberry one, which is entirely pink and cute-looking, didn't really have a strawberry flavor. The chocolate chip had a few chips in it and was decent, but not chocolatey enough for me. Same with the blueberry. The Everything with cream cheese is very flavorful. So is the Onion & Garlic one, very similar to the Everything, with lots of flavor. Really like the pumpernickel with cream cheese as well, seemed to be toasted to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Oreo is good, with crumbled bits of cookie on top of a plain bagel. The bagels in general are definitely my favorite in the city though. Staff owners are very friendly. Only thing that could make this place better would be if it was closer to my neighborhood of Clayton Park, and that it was bigger inside, to be able to sit and enjoy a bagel on site (vs the maybe 4 small tables the place actually has, which are usually taken). Good prices as well, when you buy a half or full dozen especially. (Note: two years later, I agree with everything written above)

Bagels are excellent, and the sandwiches they make are really really good for the price. There are other bagel places in the Halifax area but if you want classic Montreal style this is the place. It is without question the closest I've found to the bagels in NYC. I alwasy seem to get fresh out of the oven bagels when I'm there and the ride home with them on the bike or in the car is wonderful with the smell. I will almost always get a sandwich when I am there too. Nothing like them when they are on a warm soft bagel! Best bagels I found in Halifax or Dartmouth.

I have always wondered why Halifax/Dartmouth never had an authentic Montreal Style bagel place - well now I don't have to question anymore. Bravo to the owner for this awesome bagel shop. I quite frankly drove past it the other day and spotted the store sign. I purchased a dozen and while I waited, I watched the owner/employee bake the bagels in a large oven. The use of the long board to insert and flip the bagels was fun to watch. By the way, the bagels are delicious

First let me say i would give the bagels here 6 out of 5 stars of I could, they are amazing! Prices are excellent, variety is also good. The only issues I had was half their selection was sold out when I went around lunch and the display case wasn't clearly marked with what was what. Staff was friendly though and I will be returning.

These are definitely the best bagels I've had. They beat all the bagels I've had from New York City. Yes I understand there is a total difference between. But the breakfast sandwich is really good. I do hope they put thicker bacon on. And ask for extra mayo or butter. As sometimes breakfast sandwich can be dry. But honestly the bagels themselves are to die for. Though if you are planning to get a bunch. Make sure you get a freezer bag. As they don't keep very well as they are so fresh they will become hard the next day.

Location is good, however, I see parking is an issue. I liked the idea of fresh ???? i liked that they baked the ???? in front of the client. Decorations and colors are okay, require upgrades, specially the service table (where milk and sugar are). Cleanliness, the space cleaning is plausible. Food, the money is good but limited. I don't like ham or bacon, but all what they offer have a bacon. The other part of the products (sweets) all have ????. I see that should have alternative options. Prices, are affordable ???? and good. Conclusion, I see the restaurant idea is perfect, worth a visit. I will definitely come back with my family again. Good luck guys and we'll done

I kept driving by this place for months on my way to work and one day I decided to stop! That was the best thing for my taste buds and the worst thing for my bank account lol. The staff are so friendly, the smell of fresh bagels will wake you up and the array of bagels they have, make it hard to choose just one. I buy 6 bagels and bring them to work for my co-workers and they eat them without toasting or butter...because it's that good! Highly recommend this place.

Long line up - totally worth the wait. We had plain bagels with cream cheese and bacon. The bagel didn't have a Montreal look, but definitely a Montreal taste and texture. We'll definitely be back to try other flavours, try out their smoked salmon spread, and no doubt more bacon.

Made fresh with fire ????. Chewy. Bagel-y. As they should be. NOT like TH’s nor McD’s. Plenty of wood smoke in the air. Start simple (plain or X seed) then move toward a large variety ending in zatar. Garlic on the outside can’t handle the heat so it tastes burnt. Not saying it’s bad it’s just burnt. The lineup is like a heard of goats what with the jumping and head nodding so be aware. We are Canadian after all. Be clear in your order or you’ll experience a tiny unplanned yet exciting culinary adventure. Inexpensive, authentic and tasty. I recommend it.
