EDIT: Csilla (owner) did a great job at remedying the situation after we discussed my experience. Thank you, Csilla. Purchased a "Nutella" themed cake and was unfortunately very disappointed. The cake was incredibly dry and presumably old as it was far from fresh. For how much someone spends on what is being marketed as high-quality, I would have expected far better and certainly fresher. If we had known, a cheaper and far more edible cake could have been purchased at Zehrs or Longo's.

My dentist (Bisson Dentistry) provides a half dozen cupcakes from here. I am SO happy I went to try them out. These cupcakes are fresh, moist and super tasty. The last few places I’ve tried were dry and stale tasting but these were amazing. I love the option of vegan gluten free for my friends and daughters friends who need this. Highly recommend sweet temptations!!!

I asked for Happy Birthday to be written on the cake, as I forgot to mention it to them when ordering, And they refused to write the simple phrase. They didnt even suggest an alternative. I haven't had this trouble with any other bakery before, they usually prompt the question if the customer would like anything. Also they had confirmed with me that they would put sugar crystals on the cake, and they did not. Very disappointed in their service. The good thing was they took on our last minute 8 in cake, ordered on Monday for Friday the same week.

Yum! Sweet Temptations is one of our favourite stops for a treat in Guelph - delicious cupcakes with unique taste combinations, and our daughter loves the gluten-free flavours just as much. The team at Sweet Temptations does a great job with their special events and is involved in all kinds of community initiatives, too. A great addition to Guelph!

I've ordered a dozen cupcakes for a couple of occasions in 2021. The variety is always very good, and the little extras like cookies, syrup, nuts and sprinkles are really fun. Prices are comparable to other bakeries. This should go without saying but these cupcakes are in a different league from grocery store fluff. The only problem is the cupcakes are top-heavy and often fall over in the box and make a mess, even if I think I've been careful. But even if they're upside-down they taste great. I've never tried their donuts.

UPDATED REVIEW// The owner reached out to me asking for me to change my review, and I have chosen to increase my rating to four stars - ONLY because small businesses deserve all the help they can get at the moment. However, I will provide details here on why I originally gave 3 stars. I wasn’t the most clear in my written review originally (which you can see below) but here is why I wasn’t satisfied with the price. The cupcakes were too dense and heavy for me. There wasn’t much product on the shelves when I went in, and the triple chocolate cupcake that we bought unexpectedly had a mint flavour (really not too happy about that because I’m not a fan of mint chocolate and wouldn’t have purchased it had I known). The cupcakes were only pretty good, which is why I think they’re ideal for special occasions / gifts… And with the request to change my review because “I liked everything but the price”, I will probably not be returning. Original Review: The cupcakes were pretty good and the vegan/gluten free cupcakes were fantastic! However, were quite dense and heavy, and much more expensive that I expected. Two cupcakes cost almost $9… Really good for special occasions or gifts but not somewhere I would visit regularly - although the staff were super nice and the cupcakes were genuinely tasty!

I have purchased Sweet Temptations cupcakes several times for personal occasions - they are now our go-to for birthday parties - as well as worked with them to participate in large charity fundraising events. Each and every time I have loved the cupcakes and the service. We particularly enjoy the variety of flavours available at any given time. We really love the fact that the gluten-free cupcakes are as good as the "regular" ones! As a lifelong Guelph resident and someone who lives right around the corner from the shop, I love supporting this independent small business!

Love, love, love this bakery! I have always bought cakes/cupcakes for my kids birthdays here and they are the best. Beautiful and delicious! They can make whatever design my kids dream up! I tried their brioche donuts in the spring and YUM! Even better than the cupcakes and I didn’t think that was possible. Storefront is beautiful and staff are super friendly!

Delicious cupcakes and amazing service! Enjoyed the Mint Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcakes. They had a great frosting to cake ratio, and the frostings were flavourful and not cloyingly sweet like some places. The chocolate cake was moist and very lovely. The lady attending the counter was very sweet and courteous and made it an all-round great first experience. A lovely place to grab a sweet treat!

I have used Sweet Temptations a number of times for corporate events (over 300 people) and smaller orders (12-24 cupcakes) and every time the cupcakes have been amazing!! I have had the chocolate, chocolate & vanilla, vanilla, madame, chocolate peanut butter and red velvet- all excellent! The cupcakes are always fresh, and Jakki is so easy to work with and accommodating. Highly recommended :)

I have been a fan of Jakki's cupcakes since Day 1. The Chocolate mint is my all time favourite....still trying to get the Rootbeer float to make a comeback! I have used her for birthdays, my wedding and just cause. I am never disappointed with the quality of the product, the service is always pleasant and the way they come up with new flavours will always keep me coming back!

I purchased 6 cupcakes Friday. A couple were good....the other 4 tasted stale and the frosting tasted like it sat in a fridge uncovered and soaked up flavors from other items (gross). They were 2.50 per cupcake which is standard but these are much smaller than other places i have bought gourmet cupcakes.

Cupcakes are small for the price but taste good even though they could have been a little fresher. Also, and this is just a personal choice, the chocolate cupcakes could do without the 'Silver Buckshot' on top. The counter service was first class!

It's not that I disliked this place, the staff were very kind, the donuts and cupcakes were beautiful...what shocked me was paying over $45 for a dozen donuts ! On top of that they were greasy and gross, barely edible. This was a big letdown. Le sigh.

I was super excited to give Sweet Tempations a try. After all the good reviews I’ve seen I decided to stop by and pick some up from Sprinkle at an event that was going on. I ended up being very disappointed. I cannot believe I paid $15 for 6 extremely tiny cupcakes. Not only were they small and tiny but they tasted stale and dry. The flavours were all over the place. I have made better tasting cupcakes from a box at home. Will not be buying again. Ended up throwing 4 of the 6 in the garbage.

I have loved Sweet Temptations for years, but I find the cupcakes are even better under the new ownership. My favorites are Vanilla and Cookies & Cream. I’m also in love with their donuts. Always a great experience! Our family loves the wide variety of delicious flavours available, so there is something to please everyone. Great for a quick indulgence for those that have a sweet tooth, or pre-ordering a dessert for a large group of people, such as birthdays or family get-togethers! The kids are never disappointed when we bring cupcakes to school for seasonal celebrations such as Valentines Day or Christmas class parties. We always look forward to seeing "Sprinkle" at local events such as RibFest, stopping in at the store for a quick treat, or seeing the friendly staff of Sweet Temptations at local farmers markets!

Very disappointed. Came in with my daughter for a special treat and had a cupcake and a donut. The donut was inedible and I told the woman working politely that I didn’t like it and couldn’t eat it. She was very rude and told me that no one had ever complained before and took it away from me. She didn’t apologize or offer something else. Terrible customer service. We normally love their treats and support this small business- really unfortunate.

Sweet Temptations has been my favorite bakery from the very first bite. It is a relief to know a place you can trust in always providing the most delicious treats for every special occasion (or regular day craving). The quality and taste is incomparable. They also continue to experiment and evolve their skills so that they always have something new and exciting. If you are stopping in for cupcakes (which you MUST), make sure you pick up some brioche donuts! Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and kind. You get a sense of the passion they have for the work they do! We are so lucky to have this gem in Guelph.

I had a short but extremely pleasant experience at Sweet Temptations. I didn't catch her name but it was this past Saturday. I apologized profusely upon entering as I stepped in at the last minute they were open - I really wanted to get a last minute cupcake for my mom's birthday as she had mentioned how much she wanted to try this place. The girl was so patient and friendly, told me to take my time, and overall made my quick stop very memorable!! I know lots of of people would be annoyed to help a customer when they're about to close like this, so it's rare to find such patient and kind workers!! And on top of it all, my mom LOOOVED the rocky road cupcake! :)

Had a dinner party and decided to get some cupcakes from Sweet Temptations after i had read a review from Coldwell Banker Guelph. What a mistake! The cupcakes were dry and greasy at the same time. It was obvious if you know anything about quality that everything was out of a bag. Im not sure why this place has so many good reviews but they all must be friends of the owner or they just dont know what a quality cupcake is. Either way dont get ripped off by misleading reviews! This place is not what it appears to be. Totally let down and disappointed!

I have been a customer for years- but when they started doing Brioche donuts (Yum!!) my family just can’t get enough! The women who run this shop have been so welcoming when we stop in and I love seeing what they come up with when testing new treats. (I had an eclair this weekend! What a treat!!!) They frequently partner with other local small businesses and community organizations, which is totally my jam. Do yourself a favour and stop by- they offer vegan/gluten free too if that is your thing.

I honestly can't decide what are my favourite, the cupcakes or the brioche doughnuts! The brioche are all to die for but the blueberry ones are just so good. The staple cupcakes are great and there are always fun new flavours!!! Love that there are gluten free cupcakes options for hubby, and they use real food for the icing (not artificial additives) so I usually don't have to worry about food colouring as my son can't have any! Now I want a doughnut ugh.

$18 for 6 small is too much especially since they are so small. I bought these for the first time at the end of the day and it's quite a large box for the 6 little cupcakes inside. My family likes chocolate and cupcakes in general but we actually threw 3 of them out we make better ones from the box of Duncan Hines. Would not try again

The cupcakes were just okay. Slightly dry truthfully. Its unfortunate because I had high expectations after reading reviews. When I went in the ladies in the store gave me a very luke warm greeting and it was very disingenuous. I inquired about if there was any selection in the back and they sharply said no and mentioned the time of the day and seemed eager for me to leave. I wasn’t thrilled with the cupcakes but it was more the customer service that encouraged me not to try again.

Used to love their vegan cupcakes but they are quite dry and tatseless since they recently changed their flour. Called them to provide feedback and all they said was we have changed our flour. In the past their staff misinformed us that none of their cupcakes had eggs which was later refuted by another staff.

My friend gave me cupcakes for my birthday and they were amazing! Not too sweet unlike most deserts. The cream was delicious and the cake light and moist. Not the least bit stale as the rude customer in front of my friend said! He's just a Karen! I loved it!
