Fantastic !!!
The best bakery in Guelph? Definitely! Eric the Baker truly is a gem of a bakery with delectable pastries and consistent quality, time and time again. - Mimi's Cake Tour
Best brownie and chocolate croissant I ever had, Will definitely be back for more.
Have only went once but can't wait to go back! I got two pesto pizzas, a brownie and some meringue cookies. The meringue cookies were melt in your mouth little pieces of heaven! Amd a hit with the whole family! The pizzas were delicious, they had tomatoes and coming from someone who won't eat tomatoes I LOVED them! They were cheesy and crispy with a softer inside. Brownies are my favourite dessert and they hit it right on the nose! Its thick and decadent and rich and so chocolatey! I'm so excited to go back and try more treats! Would definitely reccomend!
Everything is so good chez Eric!!!
Love it all!
Nice place and friendly people. Delicious food. Prices are slight expensive. The main issue is they accept only cash!!
The best cookies in town!
You won't regret getting anything! Oui
Great brioche... make sure you bring cash though as they don't use interac or credit card payment
A taste of France in Guelph. Always a treat.
Where to start? I am a very impatient person and rarely line up for food, ever nor do I carry cash, i mean who carries cash anymore lol. When I first moved to Guelph back in July 2020, I was a bit skeptical when my partner said I should try to be patient and try their Danish. We arrived on a Saturday morning and there were around 10 people in line. It was moving very slow and honestly at 9 am I was already starving. We finally got in and the place smelled so good. We got two americanos and one cherry and one apple Danish and girl, I'm telling you, this has been one of the best Danish I've ever had. We have been going back every Saturday since, their sausage rolls are out of this world, their croque Monsieur, especially the spicy Calabrese, oh man. Definitely worth the wait outside at -10c and the trip to the atm to get cash!
Always love coming to this place. Hands down, best bake shop in Guelph. Really amazing croissants and canelé. Cash only. Come earlier for best selection.
I've been here often as a nice Sunday morning treat with the family. The location is great, across from city hall and the splash pad. The food is amazing. I've never had anything I didn't like. Don't expect to sit down as the seating is very limited, but do plan to walk around and taste some delicious buttery goodness.
Great food and great service. Sandwich today was lovely.
Best sausage rolls
Cant say enough about how delicious everything is!! The desserts and croissants......
5 stars are not enough. Don't want to look at other pastries having tasted Eric's production!
Awesome stuff. So tasty.. highly recommended.
Delicious fresh baking
Amazing customer service, great food! Apparently great coffee (I don't drink it...) Wonderful pastries, baked fresh daily: check their schedule for baking days/times so you don't miss out on your favourites! CASH ONLY
Despite stylish apperance the place did not meet my expectations. Expresso was cold, pastries not fresh. Not coming back
Incredible bakery...anything you order will be delicious but the chocolate tarts with fleur de sel caramel are to die for.
Food is decent there. Service is average though. I have left 3 times because I can't get served during lunch time.
There are only 5 stars regrettably. It's cash only and I only had debit and credit cards. The server gave me the raisin danish anyway with the casual understanding that next time I'd pay. What a wonderful person and fabulous taste experience. Quite possibly the best taste experience in a decade.
Delicious croque monsieurs! And Tarts, and croissants, and more...
The most delicious
Amazing tarts
Unique french cuisine with some local facorites.
Food is super yummy, it's a bit tricky to figure out the menu and selections though and it's really small inside.
The food is consistently excellent...very delicious baked goods of exceptional quality.
I enjoy seating and eating my croissants on the chairs outside. I love it.
Best baked goods in the city. Full of seasonal offerings and flavours that very throughout the week. Go early for the best selection, but definitely a local gem.
Delicious pastries, pleasant staff and a welcoming environment. Well worth the wait of a small line up.
I've enjoyed every item I've ever had from Eric the Baker. You definitely pay for this quality so I usually reserve it for special occasions.
Amazing ! No other word describes this bakery !
Excellent everything. Cash only. Mostly for take out as there was no real seating. 2 outdoor tables in nicer weather. As good or better than most of the top French bakeries in Toronto. Hot chocolate and mocha espresso made with real chocolate ganache. Reasonable pricing for the high quality. I ate cannele, passionfruit tart, ham and cheese Danish, and ham and onion quiche. Consistent quality, flavour and texture.
My family and I really enjoy this bakery. Everything is delicious and everyone is always so friendly! Personal favorites: almond croissants, sausage rolls.
Friendly staff, good coffee and some fantastic snacks (choc. eclairs, choc. croissants, and more) make this a great place to stop into if you're in the area.
Nothing compares to the baked goods here. Must try: Cinnamon bun, made is puff pastry & not sickly sweet like at the mall. Canelle, sweet, caramelized and moist like pudding but better. Lemon Tart, (sable) cookie shell with tangy lemon curd unlike any other I've ever had. I used to hate lemon tarts and this one I LOVE ???? They're the thing I'd keep coming back for.
Ordered a slice of the zucchini quiche, a chocolate and a butter croissant that were both fluffy and soft inside, a super yummy blueberry basque, two sausage rolls that were hefty on the meat side, and a brownie that had the best texture (would love to try a dark chocolate flavoured brownie next time). Very affordable prices too. Think we paid 26 for all of that.
I love the Pastries at Eric the Baker! The staff are awesome. Sometimes the line to wait is too long on Saturday’s so it’s best to go early! I've heard that it takes them three days to make to dough for the croissants because it's a special dough fermentation process that they use! The croissants are the best!
My favorite place in Guelph. I just would love to find this amazing bakery open longer hours. Try the croissants and cinnamon rolls! Outstanding.
Great food, cash only
Eric's is amazing. Delicious, authentic French pastries and cuisine. 4 chairs at the counter and a couple of seats outside in good weather. A Guelph icon!! Incontournable!!!
Excellent food. Quality and taste for reasonable price.
Incredible and generous sausage roll! The whole display case looks like bread week on your favorite regional version of The Bake Off Show!!
Amazingly delicious! This place makes me so happy!
The best place in Guelph to get your baked treats and much more. Always friendly service. This is I'm sure a family favorite!
Best dessert place
always the best in everything
Found the perfect downtown gem! Store was a bit small but the selection of pastries is outstanding - can't find that anywhere else. Would be more helpful if they had a list of the menu and prices in more detail. Recommend the sausage roll - never had anything like it before. Will definitely be back to try more items!!!
Cannot even describe how much I love this spot. Highly recommend it to anyone who will listen. I am thankful some days he only takes cash because it limits how much I can buy. Whether you're getting everyday items like croissants or quiches, or specialty items like the Paris Breast or a tower of creme puffs with sugar art (they have a name, he made them around Christmas), you will not be disappointed.
Excellent. I have always had a great experience here
Really good quality stuff. Only complaint is cash only no plastic.
It feels like you are having pastries in France. Best bakery in Ontario amazing croissants. The chef is still following his grandma’s recipe. Leek quiche is my favorite. Everything is worth trying.
This place is legit. High quality french pastries. Very hard to find anything to match this level in Guelph or elsewhere.
I have never in my life tasted better pastries than at Eric's! The bakery is small, with not too much seating - but, what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavour! Eric can frequently be found at the front counter and is exceptionally friendly. He will take the time to explain how he creates his pastries. Everything is so delicious and fresh - and no cheap ingredients here. One of my favourite items are the berry tarts. The word about this bakery seems to be spreading quickly. I definitely recommend stopping by for a tantalizing treat for your taste buds!
Good coffee and pastries. Very friendly staff
This is a very tiny bakery with a heavy French theme. The food is wonderful. We tried a sausage roll and a traditional croque monsieur and they were both excellent.
Yo this some legit Boulanger, snatch they croissants while they're hot, no pain no gain! Get it?
This is the greatest bakery experience you could imagine and somehow it's right here in Guelph. You get to experience traditional desserts masterfully prepared. Always a pleasure.
Best bakery in Guelph! I especially love the coffee and sausage rolls. So delish!
Amazing pastries and the friendliest service! A wonderful place in Guelph!
Excellent pastries.
Fantastic food, good prices, cash only, loud baker who knows what he's doing
Delicious pastry and bread. Highly recommend their croissants, but you can't go wrong no matter what you buy.
(Translated) Great bakery in downtown Guelph, great sandwiches and freshly made focaccias. I recommend for a take away snack. (Original) Ottimo panificio in centro a Guelph, ottimi panini e focaccie fatte al momento. Consiglio per uno spuntino take away.
Want to experience Europe? Take a stroll here on a Saturday or Sunday morning ... enjoy coffee and fresh baked European style pastries and breads. The Croque Monsiour will forever change how you view grilled cheese.....
Amazing pastries. Best danishes ever. My favourite is the ham and cheese Danish. Good coffee also.
You should know it's Cash only, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Parking is almost impossible to find near the shop, and it is 100% worth the effort. I've never had better. Inside the shop is a board that tells you what time/day goodies are ready. If you are lucky enough to get there just as the croissants are ready....
The most amazing breads and pastries with equally as good service and atmosphere. What isn't to love! Highly recommend the sausage roll if your stuck on what to try first :p
If the line doesn't tell the whole story: these are the best baked goods in Guelph. The staff is always friendly and will happily make recommendations or explain what's inside the sandwiches, quiches, and treats!
Best bakery I've ever been to. Don't forget your cash. I particularly love the sausage rolls, and custard bun because it's not too sweet.
Great food and wonderful staff
This bakery was amazing. So many delicious treats and sandwiches. They only take cash, so be ready for that. Try the chocolate tarts, and the pain au lait.
Super friendly!
One of our favorite places in Guelph to go and get baked goods and sit there enjoying their heat it up and then having beans green beans and olives steeped in the best olive oil or just having a quiche with mushrooms and Brie cheese. Plus the prices are unbelievable in terms of the value you get and the quality is second to nobody while making it feel like you're somewhere in Europe or Quebec possibly
Delicious! Amazing pastries
Always awesome. Never had anything bad from here. The best kept secret is the perfect potato salad of all things.
(Translated) Real croissants finally! (Original) De vrai croissants enfin!
My boyfriend and I went on a breakfast date to the bakery on the weekend. They have amazing customer service. I LOVED the butter tart I ordered it had pecans ans just a hint of pumpkin. Super sweet and tasty. They only accept cash currently so make sure you keep that in mind before heading out there.
So many delicious options, friendly people, and great location. Cash only but that's fine by me :)
Great local baked goods. Love the sandwiches. Cash only
For anyone craving baked goods during this time of physical distancing, this bakery is taking orders for pickup!! I’m obsessed with their custard filled brioche and their chocolate croissants! They also have amazing fruit tarts ????
Food is delicious and there's a fun vibe there.
Always the best service and absolutely delicious eats from Eric the Baker. I highly recommend the Sausage roll! See you tomorrow Eric!
Love
Likely the best butter croissants, fruit tarts, and raspberry chocolate tarts in town. Try strom's pumpkin pie though.
Good service and atmosphere. Really warm and inviting.
Absolutely delicious pastries. The almond croissants and Paris-Brest are amazing.
Always fresh baked pastries, always great customer service! A true staple of Guelph Downtown.
Superb
Great pastries and sandwiches. Real bakery feel
The roast beef and cheese sandwich was worth it. I don't think I've ever had baking this fresh before, other than at my relatives house.
Best baked goods mostly the lemon tarts
I don't go to Eric the Baker very often and if I did I would be 400 lbs. Very tasty food and good service. Great ingredients.
Everything is delicious! I have many favourites.
Awesome food. Wish they did more seasonal desserts.
Delicious everything, but especially quiche!
(Translated) I had the misfortune to taste a brioche stuffed with pastry cream the other day which had absolutely no taste. Congratulations to the avant-garde baker for the scam. #disgusting (Original) J'ai eu la malchance de déguster une brioche fourrée avec de la crème patissière l'autre jour qui n'avait absolument aucun goût. Félicitations au boulanger avant-garde pour l'arnaque. #dégueulasse
Absolutely delightful! We first went to Eric the Baker days after he opened, and we were immediately smitten. Now he offers even more delights, including luscious hot chocolate and a growing variety of both sweet and savory offerings. Eric is cash-only at this time, and although he is very affordable I suggest you bring a little more money than you think you will need because you will surely want to go home with a lot more bakery than you were planning on buying!
Delicious savoury tarts, huge sausage rolls & the best croissants in Guelph. The salads are a steal at $4.99 for a small size which easily feeds two. The bean & black olive goes great alongside their mini potato salad. For the sweet tooth a decadent selection of eclairs and tarts awaits. Make sure to wash it down with the best Americano coffee in town.
Best croissants in Guelph!
Eric the Baker has hands-down, the BEST service. I ordered a croque monsieur and a blueberry danish and didn't realize that this was a cash-only store. By the time they tallied up my total, I was short by $2. When I mentioned that I was short, they said 'No worries, it's only $2!' and gave me both items ???? As a small business during a pandemic, their small act of kindness is especially touching. (Thank you Lauren!!!) Not only was the service outstanding, the food was delicious. I only wish that I came earlier with more cash on hand, as I hear that they typically sell out of their popular items in the morning. I will definitely make the drive to Guelph again, solely to visit Eric the Baker ????
Friendly staff, high quality coffee
Insane goodness.
This place is hip af. The music is hype and the people look like they work hard and rock out as they go. We had the brie and tomato croissant sandwich and a raspberry chocolate tart. This is my kind of bakery, but I might not be cool enough to be here...
My new favourite location for their coffee and sausage rolls ????????????. Super fair prices, too!
I got a gift certificate so I thought why not? The people were helpful service was fast and the food is delicious! I recommend the BlackBerry, strawberry tart ????
Great food !!!!
Amazing pastries. Atmosphere and friendly customer service.
Fresh authentic French baking
Exquisite French baked goods in the heart of Guelph. I get the sausage roll and passionfruit lemon tart as often as I can. Check the board inside for baking times.
At last a fine French Boulangerie in Guelph. Do yourself a favour. Eric is good.
Fantastic food, fantastic owner, fantastic staff. A must for your coffee and bakery needs!
Hands down the best bakery in town. The perfect place to pick something up when visiting friends. My favorite is the lemon squares.
Can't beat this place for french baking.
Absolutely delicious! One of the best bakeries in Guelph.
Great baked goods, usually a line on the weekends though.
The Cannelles and danishes are amazing! I don't think I've tried anything from them and not wanted more.
They are absolutely amazing at what they do- traditional/authentic french baking and café fare. Unfortunately no vegan options unless you are looking for a salad or black coffee/espresso. There are vegetarian options though!
Love these guys. Always got my order ready and service is friendly and chill. They run a right ship and make the best pastries around by a long shot.
The only place in Guelph to get proper French Pastry. If you want something specific, calling ahead is recommended. The croissants, croque monsieurs, and sausage rolls are featured every day but special order items like Gâteau St Honoré are also available. Really fair prices, high quality ingredients, amazing food.
Their sausage rolls are amazing and seems to be quite popular. The smell of fresh pastries together with the activity of people in line chatting with each other and with the friendly staff makes a perfect and rich bubble of happiness on a rainy Saturday morning.
I love everything about this bakery. The best staff. The friendliest owners. The most delicious homemade soups and sandwiches. The best French pastries ever. A huge variety of scrumptious quiche. The bread is the freshest. Espresso, hot chocolate, and coffee. So many desserts! Everything is made with their secret ingredient. You'll know what it is a soon as you taste anything made here!
Everything here is gold. If not they would change their cash-only policy, then it would be perfect.
The best croissant I've had outside of Europe!! Maybe even inside of Europe! Tres bien!!
Sausage rolls and croissants are amazing. Cash only and usually a wait. Often sold out.
First time at Eric's. Had a sandwich . Very nice but then again so does everything they sell. Next time a pastry.
Great pastries, great food, service is okay, they really need to accept debit.
By far my favourite bakery in town. The pastries are amazing, the chocolate tart is my personal favourite. Salads are always fresh and taste delicious. I always bring friends here when they come to visit. Cash only, so be sure to go to the bank first, however if you're a few cents short they will cover for you. Friendly and usually have little samples to try.
Superb bakery products in downtown guelph. Nice coffee too and you can sit outside on Carden St.
Good food. Great hot chocolate! A little bit expensive, but worth it.
Great food at fair prices. Cash only, and be prepared to wait a while on market days
The best pastries this side of Paris! A truly French Pâtisserie baking up fresh Parisian-style goodies by the namesake pâtissier. The pain au chocolat and Croque Monsieur never disappoint! The early bird gets the Pain Au Chocolat! NB: CASH ONLY... No Debit or Credit.
This is now one of my favorite places to go while in Guelph. The food is absolutely delicious, namely the Quiche, Sausage Rolls, Crocque Monsieurs, and Canelles. The only item I wasn't overly impressed with were the butter tarts but they are still decent. The team is full of positive energy and seem to enjoy their work. We've only had one poor experience when an item we pre-ordered was sold to someone else. The staff member appeared to be really apologetic. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone who loves great French treats and is ok with the cash only policy. Keep up the great work Eric and team.
Fabulous bakery. The smell of fresh baked pasteries meets you at the door and draws you in. A little gem in downtown Guelph. Bring cash as they don't take credit or debit.
I was very excited to go to this bakery but was so disappointed when I got there and saw it was cash only. Who carries cash around anymore?
Amazing experience!
Awesome.
The most delicious baked goods in Guelph and beyond! Fantastic prices too!
Best croissants in the Golden triangle
I'm from Toronto and got some croissants and butter tarts - they were absolutely delicious, but be prepared, this is a CASH ONLY bakery! I didn't know this and the cashier only told me this after I picked out my goods and when he punched it in. It was kind of embarrassing to be told this at the last minute and I had to borrow cash from my friend. There should have been at least a sign on the door or on the front of cash, as I would think during COVID, a lot of small business establishments were not accepting cash at a certain point. I removed two stars because of these two reasons: not having a CASH ONLY sign anywhere, and being told after the last minute after the goods were punched in.
Amazing pastries
Simply awesome!
Erik and his bakers are artists..
Only been here once but their cookies are awesome!
Delicious!
Staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. The sausage rolls were absolutely amazing, I recommend them highly.
So many good thing!!
The cream brioche alone earns Eric five stars!
Decent bread options. Small place though! If you go late, like after lunch, most of the options will be finished for the day.
If you love to get baked, come to Eric!! He's got all the best baked goods that you could ever ask for. Trust me, it's worth the weight and the wait. More than just sweet treats, they have delicious savoury snacks and sandwiches too.
The quality and care into the baked goods is a notch above. I highly recommend the croissants and the brioche. Be forewarned however, it is a cash-only stop which can be a pain.
I guess started on the wrong foot, it was early afternoon, there was a couple of patrons sitting at bistro table in the small vestibule in front the cash register show fridge, two people were in front of me, one was a young fellow being hired to work there the next morning, and a lady who wanted a few things, the clerk helpping the lady got backtracked with the things ordered, and about four more people came in to the store, someone else came to the rescue, but instead of asking who was next, just helped the person he liked the most and it wasn't me, I did not say anything waiting for both l, customer and staff, to correct their mistake on their on, but neither this woman or the bakery staff said anything, he finished helping her, and continued helping other people even though that I was first in line, so I said "it is my turn and it was before too". Poor customer service or discrimination or both?, I am dark skined the other people that came in the store after me were not. I wanted a couple of French baguettes, they only had one left, the loaf is about one third the size of what I would expect to be a real French baguette, taste was bland and sogi so was its texture, when toasted it improved a little bit, but not enough to compensate for the price, neither were the pastry elephant, pal hearts or piggy's ears that also had nothing special, I have had much better from much less acclaimed places, also the parking is not easy since it is right across City Hall in downtown Guelph
Eric the Baker is the best place in Guelph for baguettes, croissants and other baked goods.
Awesome coffee. Baked goods look really good but never had myself.
Eric is a lovely, hospitable man. Best pastries this side of the Atlantic ocean.
Great little patisserie with good coffee and excellent sweets.
Everything I try here is absolutely delicious
Awesome little bakery! Now I know why this place has such great reviews! I enjoyed the passion fruit raspberry tart! Delicious! Americano coffee was also good! It'd be great if the names of the treats are displayed so you're not left wondering what they are!I will definitely return!
The best bakery in Guelph. Cash only and no advertising and he still has a line up outside his store.
Love it. Great brew coffee paired with fresh pastries that will make your mouth water. Top it off with great staff and it's the place to be. Just wee note they only take cash no debit.
This is one of the best bakeries I have been to in Canada. I try something new each time I visit and I'm never disappointed. The place is very small so it's takeout with a few tables and chairs out front during the summer months. If your visiting Guelph this is a can't miss spot.
I couldn't believe how good the Danishes were; never tasted anything so good. Delicious coffee too.
Truly French pastries!
Best chocolate caramel tarts anywhere, including France !
Part of my Saturday morning routine, a stop at Eric’s for delicious baked goods. My favourite is a sausage roll or butter croissant. The staff are great and friendly. In the summer I sit on the sidewalk patio and enjoy an early morning espresso as well.
Top quality tasty pastries and lots to choose from.
Delicious quiche
Tasty bakery. Moderate price. Tight space for ordering
Overpriced, only take cash and cashier was rude to my wife and I.
Absolutely the best bakery I have ever experienced. Every pastry I have tried (which is a lot!) is delicious and extremely fresh. Nothing compares to the pastries here! The soups are amazing too. All our staff LOVE this bakery. They also have fantastic service and have been delivering to us during this challenging time period, their service has been beyond helpful. Thank you!
Eric the Baker has, hands down, far and away, the best pastries in Guelph, maybe the world. I love the gateaux basque, the chocolate almond croissants, the cinnamon buns...everything I've tried really. Great staff and service. Pastries from anywhere else just taste terrible after you've had the best.
I love this place, it's my go to spot for pastries, bread, and sandwiches. Staff here are great!
The Baker is a Master of his Craft. The dedication to wake up early and have the pastries and sausage rolls all ready by time of open is a dance within itself. The croissant is unmatched and the almond croissant, Blueberry tart, or Lemon tart is the epitome of decadence. This establishment is hard work and artistry at its finest. Bravo!
I hesitate writing a review cause I don’t want anyone else showing up but you’ve got to try this place.. dumb good Recommend - danishes, canelles, almond/chocolate croissants
go now! Outrageously delicious.
Love it. Taste so good!
Eric the Baker is a palace of decadence and magic. Eric is a Level 20 Wizard from the School of Culinary and Deliciousness. I had his chocolate tart today for the first time (I know it's a crime to not have it until now). It is heaven and sin at the same time. Eric cast his legendary level spell making the most decadent gounach I've ever eaten. It's heavy but not very sweet so it went down like sin. It is so smooth and luxurious I can eat it forever. Don't get me started in the witchcraft that went into his sausage rolls. I have not found a sausage roll as good since I've had his. His sausage rolls have ruined me for all other sausage rolls. I am ecstatic Eric the Baker wasn't a victim of Covid. Long live the Great Culinary Mage Eric!
Tasty pastries! Yum.
Delicious salads and pastries. We would go more often if parking was easier to find.
Amazing coffee and staff
I returned! I bought their brownies. Wow! Must try! They will knock your socks off! My favourite foods here: brownies, sausage rolls, and croissants. See my pics and read my captions for more details. Older Review: This baker really knows his pastries! I was stunned at the quality and for such a reasonable price! All of my items (4) came to $15. They are a cash only place. This business is closed Sunday through Tuesday. I am definitely coming back! Wow, what perfect pastry! You will feel and taste the difference in quality here! I would definitely have the sausage rolls and croissants again! Thank you to the customer that highly recommended them to me!
Very good products with the authentic taste of France. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a french treat. You won't be disappointed.
Such a cute bakery with the most delicious croissants !!
Everything this place makes is glorious. Love the real French pastries. The sandwiches, croque monsieur and sausage rolls are all amazing. All the quiches are delicious.
Excellent quiche, disappointed their yummy croissants keep getting smaller...like mini croissants now.
The almond croissants are amazing!
The most friendly and the best service. The flakiest croissants and the best quiche. Eric is an amazing asset to downtown Guelph!! Thank you for feeding our bellies and our souls!!!
I have been here a few times now and so far everything that I have had has been great. It is easy to see that the staff and bakers have a love for what they do from the product they sell.
Amazing bakery! Passion fruit tart is amazing
Food is always good. Staff is amazing.
I got some cookies and tarts today. The chocolate caramel tart is fantastic. It tastes like a skor bar but in tart form and way better. The pecan bourbon tart was okay - I was expecting runny but got eggy. Meringue cookies, shortbread, and a sample of a vanilla tart with almonds were all good. Would go again to get more chocolate tarts. Seating inside is very small. Cash only.
Wish debit and credit was accepted! Best smelling bakery in town.
Exceptional. Up there with all the best. Completely exquisite and delicious.
Real French baking just like Paris! I have never been disappointed- everything is delicious.
Excellent food and friendly service! It's often quite full to snag a spot to sit, but if you take your food to go, they are conveniently located across from city hall, which has some nice park benches and a nice view.
(Translated) I loved the pain au chocolat, the croissant, the raisin bread. But also the Basque cake in the 2 versions. a real treat. thank you very much!!! I live in Cambridge but I think I will go back often ???????? (Original) J'ai adoré le pain au chocolat, le croissant, le pain aux raisins. Mais aussi le gâteau basque dans les 2 versions. un vrai régal. merci beaucoup!!! J´habite à cambridge mais je pense y retourner souvent ????????
Beat pastries you will find in Guelph. Sausage rolls are also amazing.
Always friendly service. The quiche is my favorite.
Quaint little bakery with a load of fresh goodness! The mini Shepard’s pie was delicious and good portion! Coffee was fresh and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable
Great little place service is great the only hicuop is cash only and limited items but over all it's all good
Good coffee and pastries
Friendly. Gorgeous assortment. Awesome smell of sweet and savoury. What a gem
Fantastic selection. I had the croque monsieur and it was decadent. Definitely coming back.
(Translated) Croissants, pies, Basque cake, buns superb quiches. Cash only. (Original) Croissants, tartes, gateau basques, brioches superb quiches. Cash only.
Incredible pastries, lovely staff!
Amazing bakery. Everything tastes amazing. I love the danishes. The $2 sausage rolls are probably the best cheap lunch in town. Some things like Quiche are rich to the point of making you feel ill - whether that is good or bad, depends on what you need I guess! Lattes and Cappuccinos are not the best and not the worst in town, but they are a bakery.
Wonderful pastries, from sweet to savory. Made fresh daily. Varied menu from day to day. Wonderful!
Great food but not always available. Come early or be very flexible as to what you want
(Translated) Basque cake (Original) Gateau basque
Clearly a very skilled Baker. Quality of the baked goods is apparent. Every bite is an experience. Danishes, croissants, oh joy! Prices are reasonable. Wait time could be a bit long but worth every second. Take a picture of the schedule so you know when to show up for your favourite items. Been here twice so far and everything was delicious. Will definitely be back. If a 6th star was available this place would get it for sure. Update: ordered a cake for a birthday. Quite frankly the best mousse cake I've ever tasted. It was a hit. Such a hit that pics didn't happen until it was almost too late.
This place is precious. Lots of selection and fresh. Actual France Frenchness going on here too. A pleasant outdoor seating area and a few indoor spots by the window. They only take cash unless that's changed. It's thoroughly worth a visit.
Great treats, fantastic service
Positively amazing, please move to Lunenburg, so much closer to France and yet so much farther
As always a comfortable local gem - excellent quality with French flare!!
Every baked good I have tried here is amazing!
Savoury croissants baked fresh. Got them just as they were coming out of the oven. Also a great tasting Americano for a good price.
Eric is a Master of his craft. He comes from a long line of pastry chefs. Everything he touches is gold. From pastries like chocolatines to croissant sandwiches, quiches, you simply can't go wrong! It's a must visit in Guelph. Don't miss out. Stellar!
Great food.
Best pastries in Guelph
Cash only in 2021...
We've been coming here since it opened, everything is always fresh and delicious. Prices are very fair too. Try to look at their baking schedule before you go to catch your fresh baked favorites like croissants etc. Its always fun when you get the one younger male baker who is full of energy as soon as you walk in. Wish they had slightly more seating tho!
Always delicious!
Absolutely amazing! Everything was fantastic, from the service to the pastries.
SOO GOODDDDD. The almond croissant is absolutely perfect
Hot fresh made americano, warm delicious pastry, what more can I ask for on Saturday morning?
Fresh and yummy!
A little taste of France ????
Delicious!
They only take cash. Maybe they will upgrade their payment options and welcome bartering soon.
Delicious coffee and pastries. Polite staff. Lots of variety. Priced reasonably.
French pastries. The food is excellent. It is a small shop with very limited seating, a few stools inside and a few tables outside when the weather is nice. Cash only. I can't praise the pastries enough!
Everything here is fresh-made daily and top quality. The croque-monsieur sandwiches are my personal favorite and nowhere else downtown can offer these. The cash only part is ok if you know that beforehand, definitely worth it though!
It is *really* hot in there and they only take cash, but the food and coffee are both amazing. <3
If your on here reading reviews instead of eating one of their croissants, then you are missing out.
Quickly runs out of stuff. Very popular. Roast beef on rye with dejon!
Absolutely amazing bakery. The service is second to none and all the staff are super friendly. I've tried a good number of their pastries and they are all exceptional. Finally, you have to try their quiche!
Croquembouche ordered was most delicious and beautiful dessert I have ever had (guests agreed) Have also had his delicious brioche, croissants, and passion fruit tart. Must go here.
Love their tarts
Best Baker in town! Sausage rolls all day!
Today as I was walking my 3 month old puppy down town Guelph I came across Eric the Baker and thought I'd grab a couple baked goods for breakfast. Given that the storefront doesn't consist of a restaurant or eating area and simply has an ordering counter I figured I would bring my puppy in as I quickly made my order. I placed my order and all of a sudden from the back of the Bakery I hear, who I assume to be Eric yell angrily in front of 10 other customers , "GET YOUR DOG OUT OF HERE!!! YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR DOG IN HERE". Taken aback by his tone, I reply "I am so sorry, I didn't think it would be a big deal, I will pay for my order and go". To this Eric screams "NO GET OUT!! THERE ARE PLENTY OF POSTS OUTSIDE, LEAVE!". As a business owner myself I understand you have certain policies in place. However, there is a way to enforce these policies and there is a way to communicate them to your customers. Eric could have simply approached me and asked me kindly not to bring my puppy inside. He was completely inappropriate, angry, and unprofessional. A few other customers offered to watch my puppy outside as I paid for my order. I denied their kind offer as I refuse to support a business owner who would treat a customer in this manner. Eric the Baker.... more like Eric the ***hole.
Remember that feeling when you first fell in love? The pastries here do.
Very small cute spot. Parking is horrendous. Cashier was very friendly. There is no signage on the treats in the display. I listened to the customer before and discovered there were danishes and croquet Monsieur. We got an apple danish, a cinnamon danish, a ham croque Monsieur and pecan bourbon tarts. The danishes were amazing! The sandwich was crispy and good. The tarts were tasty, the pastry wasn't flaky and one the custard was grainy. We'll be back.
Always look forward to stopping in for a tasty treat and a nice cup of some sort of coffee. Parties and tarts here are perfection.
