We usually get the Weston's plum pudding at Zehrs or No Frills in Ontario for Christmas, but this year they only stocked a plum pudding from a place called Mc Fadgen's bakery in Glace Bay. Well our expectation weren't high, but boy were we ever surprised to taste the most tasty Christmas pudding ever!. It was deliciously moist with just the right ingredients and flavourings. The accompanying white sauce just topped it off perfectly....although I did add a little splash of rum....just perfect!

Bought their dark fruitcake at one of our Winnipeg superstore’s for Christmas. It was perhaps one of the best we have ever had. Moist, full of fruit and just the right amount of spice. Went back for another so we will have it for the winter. Hope we can find it again next year!

I purchased the dark fruit cake this year for the first time and they were wonderful. I have just purchased a light fruit cake but have yet to try it. I have just spoken to the company and to my delight, They said I could freeze both light and dark cake and it will last for up to a year. Super news as I get that need for Christmas in July and this is perfect!

What a wonderful cake producer and Canadian at that out of Nova Scotia. It was with much surprise and great pleasure that we decided our little Emmy had in fact not died in 2007 but somehow had managed to move to glace Bay and was making cakes in this amazing little bakery. These cakes are wonderful reminders of the Christmas cakes that Emmy made over so many years.

Just discover the Light Fruit Cake with Pecans a month ago. This is the best fruit cake I have ever had - moist/ fruity/ and flavorful. Bought all the Zehrs had and now I can't find it anymore. Who in Windsor Ontario would have this spectacular cake. Thanks.

Their Mom's Gumdrop loaf is really just shy of my mom's recipe from 50 years ago. Delightful. Close your eyes and hard to tell the difference. Loaded with drops!! And their pound cake also gets a gold ribbon!

I live in Ontario and picked up a McFadgen's Deluxe Dark Fruit Cake,without a doubt it is the worst Xmas cake I have ever eaten, as you cut the cake it was so dry it crumbled, I have also posted this so people won't buy this and be disappointed hope you enjoy the money I spent.

Their Mom’s Blueberry Loaf are great. I’ve been eating them every day for 5 years. They used to be moister but recently they’ve been a bit dry but still delicious. Hope they get moist again very soon!
