Fantastic French bakery. If your looking for real French breads and baking delights, and some hard to find Scottish ingredients from the 'Vielle Alliance' (... Lime Curd); look no further. One of Aylmer's 'hidden gems' .... and truly fantastic coffee thanks to their fabulous espresso machine they brought over from Europe.

Excellent bakery. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good location and plenty of parking. I ordered some croissants, danishes, and an espresso. The danish was delicious and the espresso was good. My opinion is the croissants are not as good as those from Les Deux Freres.

I have been getting one serving cakes with white cream and real fruit raspberry filling and meringue on top for a couple of months now because it was my favourite cake from Vieille Alliance and it’s a nice light cake to have with coffee. And since I had my son’s baptism coming up this past weekend, I decided to order the same cake but in a much larger format. Unfortunately, they prepared the wrong cake! I didn’t notice until I cut into it because it was covered with raspberries. There was no meringue nor white cream filling. It was raspberry mouse cake which was pink! ☹️So instead of having a white cake which is obviously more fitting for my son’s baptism, we had a pink cake served. It was very disappointing! I’m not going to order cakes from them again unfortunately. The girl at the counter also almost charged me for the inscription when it should be included, it was lucky that the other girl reminded her that they normally don’t charge the fee on large orders????

Selection has gone down over the years: Today they had one cake that looked like it had been dropped yet they are still selling it. Also, would not write message on cake unless you call in advance. We love supporting small businesses but this was disappointing.

GREAT croissants. GREAT baguettes. And a pretty good quiche. The only suggestion I have would be to change the sign. After being here for months, I had only just found out about the bakery, assuming that "The True Alliance" was probably some kind of a LARPing store or comic book shop, and I cant be the only one. The owner should hang up a big banner with the word "BOULANGERIE" underneath! It would break my heart for anyone in Aylmer to miss out on delicious, authentic French pastries in their own backyard, all due to branding confusion.

Otherwise the other employees are super welcoming. What a gem of a place. The owner kindly put together a sweet and savory treat box for our dear Aunt and Uncle who live there in Aylmer. We're in Ontario and were able to have the box delivered for a special occasion by the owner herself. What a friendly, kind and accommodating woman. We will be ordering again very soon.
