The lay out of this store, and the lighting, as soon as you walk in, you feel the life being sucked out of you. It is not a nice looking store at all! That actually is very surprising for a Loblaws group of companies.They must be the welfare of the lot like Super C. I go in to grab any loaded offers to get extra points, if I am close, and then I get the hell out. Hate this store. From a marketing perspective the longer a client stays in a store they are more prone to spend more, this starts with the layout, the colors, the overhead music, you At this particular store guarantee this does not happen. Visit IGA Extra 1248 La Verendrye Est as an example, now that's a nice place to shop! Very organized, and you can tell customers are not RACING to get the hell out. Fix your dump that you call a store.

As far as Maxi locations go, this one is decent. Reasonably clean and typically well stocked (although this has slipped during the pandemic). Most of the staff are polite and helpful. The produce department is the weakest link, not as much variety as you would expect in a store this big.

Only been here once during the week and it was so fantastic. Huge bright store with lots of room to maneuver. The pumpkins were huge and half the price of IGA. The self check out worked well / there was no line + it was easy to switch it to English. I didn't see any plastic bags but that's fine. This is the superstore of Quebec and has Joe Fresh + all the awesome housewares things. You need a dollar for the carts or you can buy the Maxi coin for your key chain.

Cheapest food basket, yet you have a good selection and a slight Loblaws feel (fyi its the affordable Loblaws chain). If you go during mid week/ end of sales, the vegetables on sale are less fresh (like most super markets) but you will always have some choice of fresh produce.

No small carts or baskets. Only big carts. Bring a dollar to use one or not possible to shop. The lineups are outrageous and I've left a few times to go somewhere else and start over. Simple things that make it so difficult to go there. It's a shame because I like the products and selection. Go Wednesday because the new sales start Thursday and it's Thunderdome!

Excellent prices. But not very convenient closing at 9 pm like it's the 1980's. And why does their English-speaking translations of in-store messages make "anglos" sound a bit stupid? For example, how many Anglos would say "having a pharmacy in your supermarket is handy!" I have never heard such an announcement in Loblaws owned stores on the Ottawa side. "Handy?" Hilarious. Last time I heard that word was a movie from the 1950's. And don't try to go to this store less than 10 minutes to 9 because they will declare it to be closed, and be obnoxious about it.

Maxi is the "value" grocery store chain of the Loblaws Corp. Good prices on groceries and many dairy case items. Fresh produce not as nice as SuperC value chain, but not bad either. What's more surprising to me is how lackluster the produce is at the "luxury" grocery stores (IGA, Metro, Loblaws).

We always grocery shop here. Good prices and friendly staff. They mark down a lot of food by 30% instead of throwing it away. They have a key system for the carts that may be a bit of a pain but believe me, this is needed to prevent the theft of shopping carts. This practice has helped cut down on the abandoned carts in the neighborhood that ghettoize the place. Super C across the street needs to do the same. Oh, and they also carry cold beer. This isn't always the case for other grocery stores for some reason.

Cheap groceries. The Maloney location often has outdated produce on display and you need to bring a basket of your own or use a trolley for your visit. They aren't provided at the door. Upside: they do take the PC Optimum points card and the organic section is decent.
