Good baked goods in the downtown core. Busy at lunch during the week so arrive a bit early to get a table
Good tasty sandwiches
Great coffee, deserts and baristas.
The staff is really nice , and the place is beautiful
Cozy place for breakfast and coffee
Not sure why a dessert store is so warm inside and why the entrance doors were left open. I had the 'Whip Cream Mille Feuille' and 'Pecan Band' and both were not very pleasant tasting. While the choice of desserts is decent, the place could be alot more comfortable. There were flies buzzing around, paired with a warm interior makes it a disappointing first time experience.
Wonderful place to enjoy a quality coffee and pastries!
Fast service, very efficient. Great tasting food and better tasting deserts with excellent coffee. Reminded me of a place we went for lunch when in France.
Delicious pastries and coffees
Great artisanal breads
If I need a cake I buy here. Beautiful, tasty and fresh
Ordered a Cheese cake for my husbands birthday, it is honestly one of the best I have ever had! We come here for Coffee every week and often indulge in the pastries that are also wonderful. Staff is always so friendly I highly recommend them.
Great french eatery. Delicious coffee and sweets.
Overpriced for the pastry quality I've had.
Nice European style. Pastries, cakes and bread are first rate!
The food is really good, but the service is very slow. 20 minuts waiting on the line when just we were 2 people and I. Ridiculous.
Yummy desserts and coffee
Place is amazing and staff very friendly. Went the first time but I order chai tea latte and wasn't the greatest.
Worst tasting cookies I've ever had.
Awesome place!
You can get Obama cookies hear, also great bread!
The food is amazing but the manager (or assistant manager I’m not sure) is really weird! I would recommend doing a take Away. I’m definitely never coming back here. I’m one for principles so paying is never a problem. My toddler wanted a slice of tomato so I asked for an extra after having ordered a whole breakfast worth 25 dollars. They said it would be an additional charge of 25 cents. Great I paid that! Turns out my toddler went another and this time instead of 25 cent it’s 2.1 dollars. I pay again.i later go to speak to the manager there should be consistency. I was talking to the manager perfectly normal conversation and mid conversation someone walks up, I thought they were talking about someone else and literally in the middle of the conversation, she huffs, mutters something and walks away! I was literally like ok? Anyway I come back sit at the table we’re having our food and the same manager walks up to the table, smacks down 25 cents and says these are your 25 cents and you can have a pastry on the house. I tell her to take the 25 cents back I don’t want them she’s like no, and walks away. Talk about picking a vendetta against someone!! Over 25 cents! Looks like someone needs a training in management or better yet having a conversation!

Nice breakfast and friendly staff.
Great ambiance with amazing coffee!
Love this place and the freshly baked bread
Fantastic bakery, covering everything from straightforward loaves to the fanciest patisserie. Great coffee, too.
We always come here for baked goods when in Ottawa. It reminds us of the cafes you’d find in France or Italy. There is no shortage of choice when it comes to pastries. I highly recommend this location.
Very special style Cafe! Nice baking stuffs and good coffees ! I love to go there again!
The best place I'm from Toronto and I went to Ottawa for business and I really enjoy eating there yummy ????
We had an apple danish and a macaron. Macarons are $2.99 each but we got a cracked one. Also the macaron didn't have much flavour to it, but the Apple danish was yummy tho.
Very friendly service y very good sandwiches
Nice atmosphere. Really good fall harvest latte. Friendly staff.
The decor of this cute little bistro is delightful and the pastries are to die for!!
Did not have sanitizer available for customers. Was not sanitizing the POS system after each customer use.
There pastries are not good at all, so much for being a "French" bakery. They look nice but they don't taste good.
Good restaurant
Arizona chicken is very delicious highly recommend
Nice bistro/cafe near the Parliament building. Good selection of sandwiches and pastries and excellent coffee.
European-style coffee shop with good food for breakfast or lunch. Great coffee, loved my cappuccino and my new French Press, and they serve Happy Goat coffee. Local support local! Definitely will come again. ????
Great service! Coffee was delicious, decor was exquisite, and menu was plentiful. However, if you're looking for a café to study in don't count on their wi-fi (i.e. couldn't even load Google to write this review).
(Translated) I really did not enjoy my visit. Uncleaned coffee stains on the counter, all the coffees, hot chocolate and teas served before my order, overflowed cups and the employees were brusque. They made a mistake in several orders, never apologized. My cappucino had at least 2 thirds of foam and was cold. Never again. Never again.
I liked how it was like a cafeteria style. they have lot of choices for desserts and good lunch option. I tried croissant sandwich which was nice and crispy outside. My husband tried their chicken which was delicious.
(Translated) Excellent place, many very good options (Original) Excelente lugar, muchas opciones muy buenas
I wish I could give it a 3.5. First and foremost, the location is really nice both because its central and fun to people watch and because the interior is very pretty. The deserts range from just okay to good, but sometimes the prices just seem a bit too high in relation to their quality. This is made worse by the fact that you can get things of equal or better quality for less elsewhere. The service is alright, some of the baristas being better than others, but I have occasionally felt like I was bothering someone while trying to order. Overall I think it's a good cafe and worth checking out, but probably not worth going to regularly.
Really clean and spacious cafe. Much better compared to the one in Byward- although the Byward location is a old classic. I only had the vanilla latte and it was delicious! I would definitely come back again for the dessert, and the fact that they have free wifi makes it a perfect study spot too.
(Translated) The beautiful place (Original) La belle place
Tasty desserts, good coffee, cozy atmosphere. Just don't take caramel eclair, trust me this sugar/cream boost is too hard to handle.
Very nice cafe with cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious pastries. We came here often during our visit. Would recommend.
Good, healthy food with both hot and cold meals. Desserts and cakes look and taste unreal. Coffee is delicious. My new place in Ottawa to meet people for coffee.
Good food but expensive
2 stars only for the decor and the space itself. A double shot espresso ended up being 1 once and the croissant... no... just simply, no.
Bright place with huge windows. Friendly staff. European style cakes, taste very good. Plenty of space. No parking because it's Downtown.
Delicious baked goods! I had the palais royal (chocolate and hazelnut cake) and it was phenomenal. Dad had a raisin butter tart and enjoyed it as well.
The dinner was delicious and fun
Second time I had lunch here and service is amazing. Bakery is totally magic and you can eat in peace even for a business lunch. Very good choice of sandwiches, soups and salads. I will be back!
Best apple pastries in Ottawa! Service is quick and staff are friendly and helpful. Always lots of available seating and warm atmosphere.
Mint Chicken Wrap. Nice light lunch.
Nice alternative to some of the more boring coffee shops in the area. Genuinely good French pastries. A little pricey depending on what you get, and the lunch sandwiches are modest. But a light and bright space and a good place to hang. Lots of seating.
Trendy look, great spot in city centre. The cakes are great.
Air conditioning didn't work... Dirty dishes garbages was full... On a Sunday afternoon...
The food is tasteless and overpriced you pay for the decor. I got a desert that was already in a plastic container and they gave me another huge box of plastic again this is a lot of waste...
It's a speciality coffee shop with different varieties of coffee... If you are bored drinking Tim Hortons coffee, you can visit this place. They have espressos, cappuccino, latte and many varieties of tea. Do try there cookies and some other cakes.
Great coffee and food, lots of space, quiet between rush hours
(Translated) Quality bakery and pastries. Very beautiful decor in an old bank. French style bistro a few steps from the Parliament Hill. Nice place for lunch or dinner. Large selection of quality pastries and sandwiches. The children enjoyed their cake and their croissants. Very reasonable price for the quality. (Original) Boulangerie et pâtisseries de qualité. Great coffee, affordable and tasty lunches, and sweet treats combined with a bright and lively atmosphere make this a favourite spot for a break.
Beautiful, tasty pastries, great beverages, and excellent service in a modern, open atmosphere. A great place to hang out on a snowy morning!
Wide selection of pastries and sandwiches. Wish I could try them all! Picturesque seating options. Staff made great recommendations for what to eat.
Just tried to buy a cake at 5:51 pm. Posted hours say til 6:00 pm and they are fully locked and closed. Shopkeep even saw me and my partner at the entrance and ran away. Poor business practice
Food was great. Thanks.
Great staff. Sophia served me, she was very helpful and heated my pizza! Guy who was cleaning went out his way to get a chair from the back cause it's Canada and it was busy. Didn't even take long to order! Nothing but good things!! ????????????????????????????
I’m sure the pastries are good, but I will never order the hot food again. Pork was tough as a board and noodles were undercooked and dry.
Amazing place! Great location near Parliament. Croissant with eggs and tomatoes was delicious.
The espresso is so weak! Honestly thought maybe the barista forgot the espresso shots in my latte. But I also moved from the Pacific Northwest and I’m used to good, strong coffee. The barista was also not very friendly at all. Will stick to Starbucks for the time I’m here.
Great pastry, delicious coffee, friendly staff and a nice and welcoming environment
Amazing pastries! Try the almond chocolate croissant! A great selection of bread, sandwiches, and coffee as well, with plenty of seating.

Amazing selection of menu items and man was it all delicious.. The standard of quality of the food and service was nothing but top notch and the pretty servers and the owner were all super nice. I'd definitely go back here given the chance!
Lots of good healthy option. Very good desserts and upscale atmosphere
You can count on their delicious and fresh baked goods, and great service.
Best in Ottawa
The service was a little slow but the pastries were delicious! Very buttery...????
Tons of great baked good!
Nice bakery in the heart of downtown with good eats and coffee. Would recommend
The coffee was so burnt it was undrinkable. We bought 2 croissants and both were bland and tasted like bread, not like pastry. The raspberry turnover was ok but there was a minute amount of filling inside. Not worth the money for terrible coffee and tasteless pastries.
Wonderful pastries, tea and service. Such a lovely nplace to sit.

Amazing Food, great concept, very good coffee, variety of patisseries etc. Bad Bad service, no one seems to know who came in first, cashiers go from one cash to the other, also serving anyone that catches their eye.. So very frustrating... Changes in the ordering, serving and payment process are needed.
Bakery is great, fresh and tasty. Pretty crowded but no waiting for table.
Obama cookies are dry, mediocre shortbreads. Coffee was good.
(Translated) The atmosphere, the service and the dishes are very good. (Original) Muito bom o ambiente, o servico e os pratos.
Best place for speciality desserts. The Triple Chocolate Mousse is to die for! A quick walk from Rideau Centre O-Train Station.
The coffee was good with nice decoration of heart and leaves on it, however there were flies buzzing all around us and over the breads so I did NOT buy the bread. It is weird because it is cold but there were flies. So there should be a cleaning issue with place ( a serious issue). we were there last weekend.
Great place to grab a coffee and some food. Awesome atmosphere and really nice deserts! If you are in the downtown area check it out!
(Translated) Good place to stop for a coffee and eat something. Next to Parliament (Original) Bon lloc per parar a fer un café i menjar alguna cosa. Al costat del Parlament
The cafe has wide variety of choices for different occasions. Soup and sandwiches for lunch or early dinner, great loose tea collection - herbal and with caffeine, many types of coffee and selection of coffee based beverages, but my family favourites are French sweets and pastries. We also love to take different bread here and during Xmas time traditional almond cake.
excellent service
Great tea selection and wide choice of pastries and breads.
This review is for the K•D location. The prices are reasonable (despite some other reviews), and the coffee is very good. They have an assortment of lactose free milks which is appreciated, and their assortment is large. I went at 930 am and there were lots of items. It is pretty bustling, and a nice location.. I had the breakfast croissant and while it was very good, I was hoping the croissant itself wasn't exactly what I expected from a french bakery. It was very soft and a bit moist and was delicious, but as such was not the french-style of croissant I was hoping for. I will be returning to try some of the delicious looking desserts
Nice cozy place with great service and good coffee!!
I ordered a peppermint mocha and vegetarian omelette sandwich. The mocha had no peppermint taste and the sandwich wasnt intakes because the omelette was bigger than the sandwich breading. Maybe I'll try again for their pastries, but i didnt feel that satisfied :/
Spacious cafe with nice decor and a great selection of fresh pastries. I would recommend trying the chocolate almond croissant!
I love this place! It's so fancy :D
Baked goods I had were not very fresh and the espresso is the kind that is only drinkable when drenched with milk and sugar.
Love the gateaux.
got a latte and a croissant sandwhich for $14. The latte was teribble, no foam, not hot, and the croissant tasted a day old. Just nothing good about it. Looked like the lunch sandwhiches was decent. I made a huge mistake going in here. Only 1 star because the average 4.1 star rating is ridiculous and clearly paid for.
Terrible food.
This place have good selection of pastries, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is great for a cup of coffee in the afternoon !
Oh my God the food is awesome and the goodies
Excellent coffee and pastries. The sun shine was nice also.
(Translated) Highly recommended for a good latte and an excellence pastry or French bread. Spacious, clean, close to parliament walking. Beautiful perfectly located place just steps away from the Parlament. A great place to grab a hot chocolate.
Great staff, great pastries, great coffee options are a decent price.
(Translated) Limit thrown out with my baby and my friends by the two waitresses who obviously were eager to close. Dec 14 morning staff deserve kudos and free cookies for being friendly and organized during a busy morning rush!
Strongly recommended
Excellent coffee and great pastries and the customer service folks are so warm and friendly! Such a rare find now-a-days
(Translated) Good bread... (Original) Bon pain...
Bakery and small cafe. Selling baked breads, scones, cakes, fancy cakes and sandwiches. Definitely worth a visit.
I think that coffe doesn't taste that good
Great service. Food's good, tea was amazing.
The place is very nice. It looks clean and trendy, and it is also quite large. It has floor top ceiling windows in the two walls that face the street. It has a tall ceiling with very nice lamps. The service it not great but not rude either, kind of slow going. It has done high chairs in a desk in the middle. They have free Wi-Fi with the password written in a black board in the middle. A nice place to warm up with some coffee.
I visit regularly for a meeting with a colleague. The interior is nice and comfortable enough. I like their teas and their coffee is good. The service is forgettable as its neither bad nor good. The prices are high but I admit some of their offerings are above average. I've tried the croissants and they were fluffy and fresh as I like them. I haven't purchased pastries lately as there are numerous pesky flies buzzing within the display cases. I am sure this will change when winter comes.
A Perfect Bakery Cafe - As a business owner and resident of the downtown core I was overjoyed to have such a high-scale bakery come to our neighbourhood. Having high quality pastries, lunch and cafe reminiscent of a Parisian shop was such a charming addition to this area. Le Moulin de Provence offers a lovely bright, modern environment near Ottawa's best pedestrian street. A family-owned business the heart of the owners is reflected in everything from the food to the decor. Karina and Daniel are lovely people to work with and we have recently experienced their excellent service through catering to our small business event. Our favourites include the ham and Swiss croissant panini, the artfully decorated shortbread style cookies and pretzel buns.
Nice coffee and pastries stop while sightseeing Ottawa. Their almond croissant is delicious. The staff was attentive and the place us bright and clean. Parking underneath the next corner, otherwise better walking.
$$ but tastes good
Cookies were delicious, and there's a lot different pastries available!

Great coffee and delicious baked goods. They also have nice lunch combos and they serve wine as well.
Service was okay, the location is awesome for people watching. But, the pastries and coffee was below par
I'll be back,
Love the atmosphere! Beautiful display with so much variety. The staff are very friendly, and they make a great cup of coffee!
Four fruit flies in one cake
Great and very bright place! Perfect location to come and grab delicious coffee after walk in downtown. Big assortment of pastries and always fresh bakery!:)
Good food. Decent service.
Good coffee (Happy Goat beans), and good food! Nice and inviting atmosphere for meet ups!
Been here a few times, was very disappointed with the last few visits though. Their assortment is decent, but for me service is a huge issue. And the cocky kids working there ruined our last experience for sure. Coffee tasted like brown well water. I won't return for a little while, not recommended this to anyone anytime soon. Sorry but this isn't appreciated, not for the prestige and location. We deserve better. Thanks.
I have purchased the empire cookies for years, they have been so good and buttery. This week, I could not taste any butter. I think they have changed the recipe and added oil or margarine.
This is a very cute coffee shop close to parliament with friendly service and a good selection. They have a variety of non-dairy milks to choose from and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. My only complaint was that on more than 3 occasions we have been approached by staff to say that they are closing early, sometimes as early as 615 pm when the posted hours are until 7p.m. No reason was given, just closing up. That was a bit frustrating.
(Translated) Very good pastries ... Pdt Obama went there and left his borrow ... (Original) Très bonnes patisseries... Le Pdt Obama y est passé et a laissé son emprute...
A high-end cafe perfect for all your coffee and sandwich needs. The decor just adds to the overall charm. Would go back the next time I visit Parliament buildings.
This bakery is HORRIBLE AND TREATS ARE NOT FRESH: the gingerbread cookies I brought home for kids were rock hard; AND the sugar cookies were only a bit BETTER. I am not sure why it has good reviews. My colleagues have similar stories.
Great big cookies and delicious pastries. I've also sampled their coffee and it's delicious. They also have a large variety of breads. I'll have to make sure to go back on my birthday, they give a free pastry!
Their nutella ice coffee is wonderful
Excellent pastries, teas and coffee! Also a great place to meet up and have a chat since the space is very clean and spacious. This is one of the best cafés in Ottawa!
A great place to enjoy a coffee. You're in another world there, where the conversation is good and time disappears for a while. You'll see what I mean.
Beautiful airy space. Delicious chai latte. Wide assortment of salads, sandwiches, soup, french pastries and bread. Now with extended summer hours on the weekend 7am-7pm. They also do catering.
Nice space, central location, good selection of food and small bites for lunch with a few healthy options. Didn't try the bakery as I was there for a quick lunch. Service was good but the waiting area for prepared / heated food is small and crammed and hard to know what dish is yours when they all come out. Overall good experience but food pick up could be better organized.
Nice place to enjoy a coffee, central, big windows. Lots of sweets
Insta-worthy interior, great breads and pastries, lots of seating
I come here a lot for work meetings and over last few years I became very disappointed with subpar quality and poor service despite the rising prices. Only this week, I ordered regular ice latte and was charged $6.16. Later I found out that they overcharged me for my latte (charged me for the flavored one even though it was plain, without asking) that was nothing special. My chocolatine had only small chocolate chips and was not flakey. I also saw a few times flies in the pastry display counter. I will try to move the work meeting spot since my experience here has been disappointing lately.
I really enjoyed the interior design! The location is also great, nice place to stop for a coffee with sweets. The coffee was good as well as a service.
Delicious pastries and sandwiches in downtown Ottawa.
nice pastry! price wise it`s more expensive than the rest, but pastry is good :) try almond croissant if you can, delicious!
Good little pastry shop for coffee and venoiseries.
Great place to grab delicious coffee and treats while walking in Ottawa downtown. View is amazing as well. Huge windows let you observe pedestrians and trafic while quitely enjoying morning cappuccino.

First time visiting. Place was full of customers Told me it was closed and refused to let me do a quick tour and so rude. Not very inviting.
Good food, great coffee. Calm environment
(Translated) Obama cookies! (Original) Obama cookies!
Great coffee from Happy Goat Coffee and a good selection of pastries, cookies, and lunch food.
Great treats to start your day, hot meals and more.
Good food and drink options. Reasonably priced.
The best cafe in downtown- great coffee and sweets. Love the design of the place.
Place looks nice but the beverages and sweets were awful. For the price I expected something that tastes at least mediocre...
Really bad service. The waitress took the order and ask us 10min after to leave because they were going to close.
Very nice cafe, bakery and lunch place. Right downtown close to the parliament. Friendly staff We had lunch and French pastries. Try purple haze latte, very good.
Good cookies..
Fantastic bakery!
If i could give 3.5 I would. The coffee was good, the cookie did not have any flavour. It tasted better dipped in the coffee and was fairly hard. Service was good.
Good pastries. Serves alcohol.
Got served yesterday's bread and it was stale. Nice place to sit at and the coffee is fresh and flavourful, can't say the same about the sandwich I was served.
Best coffee and pastries ever
Always great
Good treats, poor service.
Joseph did a great job in serving us today!!!
Exeptionally good pastries and coffee, very spacious and cozy place. This is the highest quality coffee shop I've found in Ottawa so far, and I am a very demanding customer. If perfection exists, this place is pretty close.
Nice ambience and great location. Bought the Belge-white bread and it was delicious.
Really enjoyed the carrot cake and their baguette.
Delicious savory and sweet things
Amazing spot to have a coffee and a delicious pastry. Great options for Soups, Salads and Sandwiches. Also great to sit down and do some work or read a good book.
Great happy goat coffee served here. Nice open concept cafe and pastries. Good service and good quality food.
They've blocked some local university websites so students can't really do much work here. I understand they want a higher customer turnover rate but this should at least be advertised before you buy something and sit down to work and realize you can't. If you don't want students working, don't trick them as they will likely buy something before they have the chance to check if their school website is blocked.
Absolutely delicious.Great atmosphere,clean,delight and unique.
A beautiful space, with a lot of thought and creativity put into the design (love the wheat wall). The deserts are wonderfully fresh and flavourful; the staff seem to know how to have fun, while serving you quickly. An excellent addition to the downtown area, whether for a work day coffee break or a simple visit with friends.
Breads are delicious! Great little spot in the downtown core.
♥️
Amazing location, very good food and coffee, friendly staff and fast service. i had hot lunch-it was really good.
Lovely. Delicious drinks and baked goods with friendly service.
Nice bright place with lots of goodies.

Food is cold, and flavorless
Spacious place with coffee and deserts. Nice view to the streets. Quiet atmosphere.
Very good baguette, panini and sweet things but a little bit to expensive. Eat there two times due to the fact that it is still the best in Downtown to have a breakfast.
They now serve flavoured lattes with Baileys,Amaretto or Kahlua.
Upscale, beautiful, modern cafe. Always fresh, tasty pastries. Best macarons in Ottawa btw. Great coffee. Clean, spotless. If you want to start your morning with the happy note - this place will give you a boost of positive energy. Great staff, always smiling and pleasant to chat with. Seems like the owner is on top of things here. You want high class breakfast? This is the place.
(Translated) Super good and lots of choices like in Paris (Original) Super bon et beaucoup de choix comme à Paris
I went in with my partner for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. Unfortunately you don’t have any vegan options on the menu for food. Which is a shame because there are so many options at so many other places. We went somewhere else anyway. But you did have almond milk! Hopefully next time you will have some food items that we can eat :)
Nice place for your breakfast ????
Both of the locations are not good. Every time I go for a baked good hoping that it's better than before, but it never is. They are lacking flavour and texture, and definitely not what you expect from a "French" bakery. I don't bother going anymore, and the baked goods at Bridgehead next door are much better in comparison. Also, one time I asked to buy a roll (I wanted bread, but didn't need a whole loaf for myself) and they said they don't sell them- thought that was weird for a bakery.
nice atmosphere but the food and drinks didn't match up. bad presentation, coffee was mediocre. seemed sloppy.

THE BEST LONDON FOG EVER!! Amazing customer service! After receiving a sub par London Fog, the owner personally got back to me and offered me another try at the London Fog. Absolutely amazing, the proper way to respond to a customer complaint! I have to say, the London Fog I received on the second chance was AMAZING, it was so creamy, warm, with a hint of vanilla, it was the best London Fog I've ever had! I've been craving another ever since!
Amazing coffee, Some of the best ive had.
Exceptional quality across the board sandwiches are fresh, soups are interesting and salads have variety and good taste. To say nothing of the coffee and the exceptional variety of desserts. Lots of seating, wifi...our go to lunch spot when downtown.
Pre-made sandwiches/croissants are stale. Almost everything in restaurant could be done better. Staff seem to be trying but the place is poorly organized and managed.
A friend of mine and I, we wanted to grab a bite downtown. We were looking for a place that would serve us with a smile and warmth, especially at this trying times that we are going through. We chose Le moulin de provence because of how friendly and warm Joseph was. He recommended us the best choice based on our requirements. For example, when I told that I could not use salt, he recommended the least salty option. When I asked for a desert, he made his recommendations. Moreover, when we asked if we can sit and eat, he told us that he could set up tables outside for us to sit and eat our food and he carried the table and the chairs and set things up for us. He went above and beyond what anyone would have done and he did it with a smile and from his heart. Joseph definitely deserves is a great employee and he made a difference today.
You can have a meal without disposable stuff! Feta and spinach twist was delish!
We purchased a baguette, olive and cheese fougasse, almond scone, and apple danish as well as two lattes. All of them were amazing and very fresh. We will be returning tomorrow for coffee after our breakfast. Fantastic place
Great food and coffee prepared right.
Too cold tasteless salad and boring tasteless panini sandwich.
I was here last weekend. It is a nice place with a plushy couch. It's a nice place to do some work and people watch too. As for the actual food/drink. Im new to the city and Im trying to find the best flat white in the city, and Ive only been to two other shop and this one is currently leading. The carrot cake was fine but not worth the price. The staff though seem very disengaged. I understand that it's not busy but that doesn't mean you should be on your phone, catching up with each other and just not work... Plus, please do not give me a look like I am asking a dumb question or doing something wrong...
A bit better than the one in the Byward Market , not much more.
Absolutely amazing! So decadent and the coffee is phenomenal!
Almond croissant was bomb
Great coffee and treats!
Excellent selection of pastries and good espresso We stopped in to the downtown location after seeing the parliament buildings. The selection of pastries and cookies was excellent. Chocolate croissant, butter croissant, blueberry turnover, apple turnover, and fig scones were all yummy! The espresso was good as well. We weren’t there at lunch, but it looked like a reasonable selection of sandwiches and lunch items. It is a little pricey, but the selection and quality are higher than the other bakeries we stopped into downtown.
Awful service and awful management. I just left with such frustration. Being a client for the past 10 years, I love their bake goods. Today, I had the intent to purchase a birthday mousse cake for a dinner this evening. I politely asked if they offer the service of writing “Happy birthday” on their cake. The lovely employee went to go ask one of the Manager (did not get his name) and he nodded “yes”. As a birthday cake, I wanted to make sure that the calligraphy on the cake was to my desire and well done. I understand that not everyone is able to do calligraphy, but I am flexible. I politely asked to see the writing before putting it on the cake. It wasn’t to my expectations, so I said that the “Happy birthday” was not necessary anymore. I was still going to purchase the Raspberry Mousse at that point. The lovely young employee told the Manager that I did not want the writing anymore. His reaction? Pure disgust; he kept doing disrespectful remarks and facial expression. Beyond NOT SATISFIED with his professionalism and ethics. I then decided that their service was not necessary and that I was going to get the cake somewhere else. I never received such bad service in my LIFE, especially from one of the Manager. I went to go see the owner following this, and told him my unpleasant expression with one his, apparently very professional, Manager. I informed him of the Manager’s unprofessional and unnecessary conduct. He then told the Manager, and his reaction? The same unprofessional, disrespectful, rude and impolite conduct. Moral of the story? Avoid this bakery if you want to feel 1) Welcomed; 2) Appreciated; and 3) Valued.
Excellent...great service...high standards quality food...
(Translated) Very good, good service and good food (Original) Très bien, bon service et bonne nourriture
Much preferred over the byward market location. Bright and clean, it's popular with the downtown office crowd.
Overpriced for the quality
Excellent cafe, amazing drinks and food. Polite and good service!
Nice cafe and good food
My favorite cafe in downtown. Symphony cake is the best. Great service and very nice staff.
Still open, great place to get fresh ???? downtown
I come regularly to get fresh bread here and it's always loved by the whole family.
Staff acted like it was a burden to help me
Very cozy and pleasure atmosphere with delicious food and friendly staff. I like to spend time there????
The croissants taste like Starbucks. For those saying they are like France have never been to a proper French bakery. No flakes, just rubbery. Couldn't even taste any butter. The drip coffee was fine.
Fantastic hot cocoa and pastries. The vibe is a great place to grab a coffee with a friend or settle in an do some work
Wonderful and cozy. You get there, get a nice bowl of soup and fresh bread and then you sit and relax. The ceiling is high so you dont feel clumped up like some other places. Highly recommended...
The so call Obama Cookie (just a Canadian Maple leaf shaped cookie) is over-rated. It’s just a butter cookie with icing. Honestly, Wendy’s cookies are better with sweeter taste and better texture. The croissants are good but the maple syrup latte is so so. Overall, not thrilled with the quality of the drink and deserts.
Dirty tables, a stale croissant, coffee is still okay. Giving the prices not a great experience
I had lunch today at Moulin de Provence with great expectation. I am always looking for a good croissant outside France. This is not an easy task. Croissants are labor intensive and obtaining the proper ingredients in Canada is difficult. Forget free trade with 300 percent Canadian duties on dairy products. Stirling Creamery in Ontario does produce beurre sec with 85 percent fat which is rather expensive. I found finding the flour they have in France impossible to find in Canada. But the challenge is to get as close as possible. I have tried many times and failed. Moulin de Provence fails with the croissant. My seafood salad was decent. I asked my other two friends with me that had a pastry and a sandwich if they would seek out this restaurant again? No, it's nothing special. Their Croissant is more like a piece of bread shaped like a croissant. It doesn't have the layers or pastry texture of a French Croissant. It is more like a freezer to oven croissant that most bakeries sell in Canada. Metropolitan restaurant uses freezer to oven croissants. These freezer to oven 4.5 oz butter croissant can be purchased from Creation Food in Toronto for 38$ for 100 sheets or 38 cents a croissant. The price driver of a croissant is the labor if not machine made and butter. The freezer to oven croissant have low butter content, less than 20 percent. Good croissants have more than 50 percent by weight of flour. My next croissant adventure will be Nadege Bakery in Toronto. Nadege Nourian is a 4th generation baker/pastry chef from Lyon, France. Oh well, croissants suck in Ottawa.
Ambiance is good but the baked goods were very average. We ordered chocolate croissants, almond bar and pistachio pastry all of which were like found in any other ordinary bakery. Coffee and tea were good.
Great place, good food, attentive service!
Hot lunch specials are always delicious and coffee is good too.
Decent bakery, some items were good others were a bit dense and dry. Almond croissant was nice.
Fantastic one-stop-shop for all your breakfast/lunch needs. Coffee and tea are great here! Food is always delicious! Staff are lovely. The decor and ambience are awesome. Check it out!
Order anything, you can never go wrong here. Wide selection, Friendly staff, good service. Must try: cappuccino and pecan bar.
Yummy coffee, friendly service
The best coffee place in Ottawa hands down. Great assortment of pastries and macarons. Strongly recommend.
Relaxing place.
Excellent brewed coffee. Pastry was fantastic. Pastry reminded me of the last time I was in the Le Marais district of Paris. Thank you for a great memory. Fred
Great food and desserts, great people, fantastic owner! Overall a blissful experience.
Beware: this isn't under the same amazing ownership as the one in the Market! Ordered pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and paid with visa over the phone. No email confirmation but I checked periodically over the weekend they would be ready.Show up Monday and the store is closed.Thankfully, the one in the market was amazing and were able to come to rescue. Called the day after' reason was " it was slow so we closed early". No apology, or offer to refund, no reason why they didn't check for outstanding orders, nada. Had to push and be aggressive to get refund.
A nice coffee shop in downtown. Perfect location. It has a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill. They also offer many different cakes, and breads.
Nothing to do with Provence, but Good location, good coffee but pastries are ordinary.
I have been buying a cup of coffee there everyday for a while. On Monday October1, 2018 I bought a cup that they pour in my travel mug so it stays hot. I took a sip approx 5 minutes later cant answer now I was on my journey. The coffee was cold not drinkable for me. Ok it happens. On Tuesday when I went in I expressed my concern to the server expecting a complimentary cup. Not a chance she told me that she was not authorized to do this really. She handed me the owners business card.when I called I got an answering machine. I still can’t believe that happened. Well they lost this customer forever over a cold cup of coffee.
Great location, average food.
Great breakfast place. They have very nice cappuccino and good variety of bakery items. I enjoyed it over my trip to Ottawa.

Food and coffee are not fresh and the WiFi is spotty, would not return.
Delicious food and drinks! Very cozy atmosphere
Amazing service, fabulous coffee and the cheese bread is delicious!
One of the best alternatives in downtown Ottawa. Certainly better than Loblaws, the independent, etc, for bread and croissants. Fougasses, multigrain bread, plain and almond croissants are very good. But you have to go early. Baguettes are ok. Service is generally friendly. They have improved recently. And no, it is not like France. Fortunately.
Overpriced for what you get & slim service
We came with a tour and they did nothing to accomidate us.
I love to drink tea in a generous amount and this place is perfect for that!!! Got a teapot with a loose tea. Desserts are plenty to choose from! Had a nice tea time with my friend.
Someone bought us an assortment of pastries the last weekend. They were fantastic.
Great ambience! the location is amazing for people working downtown. The pastry selection is like no other. I love coming here on my lunch and people watch while enjoying tasty treats.
Ham and cheese pie not so cook..
Amazing location, 2 steps from Parliament. Very clean cafe with huge verity of baked goods ( smell is amazing) pastries, lunch, coffee and more! Came here with my family for the duration of our visit. Very friendly staff. Coffee is super! My favorite was cortado!
(Translated) The chocolate croissant is not very good. I do not recommend it (Original) Le croissant au chocolat n'est pas très bon. Je ne le recommande pas
Great atmosphere!
(Translated) Many varieties, good service, clean environment and spaciousness! (Original) 品種多,服務好,環境清潔,寬敞!
Soothing environment, variety of patisseries
Awful desert, watery coffee Just had one mille-feuille, makes me wish i never visit another patisserie ever again. Hard and tasteless pastry; cream that has to be cut with a knife and is probably light years away from real cream. Second time visiting, there will not be a third

Had a croissant and hot chocolate - sorely disappointed. Similar quality as the average grocery store.
Very good but too expensive, 100% not worth the price, found a hair (in) a scone ???????? kinda really not fun when it costs close to 5$
It is overall good
A decent cafe, with hints of disappointment. I ordered a chill and a mocha - while they were all delicious, the bread that came with the chili was pretty old, and falling apart. The bread could’ve been replaced with newer and better quality. During my visit to the cafe, a homeless entered the premise. She started interacting with the customers, not wearing masks and following covid guidelines. I can’t speak for the other customers, but I was definitely uncomfortable. However, by that moment, the employees were nowhere to be found, failing to take responsibility and deal with this situation. I look forward to employees here taking more control of the place and making it a comfortable place to dine in.
Poor services. I bought 6 fruit tarts last week and asked the lady to put them into 2 small boxes. But she refused. very disappointed.
Very tasty lunch.
European style cafe that stands out among surrounding coffee chains. Delicious London Fog, almond croissants, freshly baked bread and great choice of both the sweet and the savoury. Way better quality of teas and coffee drinks than in the Market location. Clean, very spacious and pleasant interior steps from the Parliament Hill.
Nice bakery and coffee shop, they have fresh cakes and cookies as well an sandwiches, cute place!
Hit and miss. I’ve had some pastries that were fresh and flakey and I’ve had some that were soggy or too hard. The coffee is always good (Happy Goat Co.) and it is spacious with plenty of seating. I’ve never had bad service, although it’s never stood out as fabulous either. I certainly like it enough that I will go back, but I also wouldn’t make a special trip. As an aside, I loath when owners feel the need to respond to every single review - it almost makes me take another star off. A response to EVERY review seems insincere at best and petty and vindictive at worst. With that in mind, I implore the owner not to reply to my review.

European-style coffee shop with good food for breakfast or lunch
Love that place. The food its great and service.Everything fresh and delicious. Owners very pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend that place ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤????????????????????????
(Translated) Croissant ham, cheese. What a delight! (Original) Croissant ham, cheese. Quel delice!
Excellent service, staff is very attentive and always ready to serve. Espresso bar has good quality drinks with reasonable prices. It'll be hard not to make this place a regular coffee spot!
Always good coffee and almond croissants
Decent place, but the prices are somewhat high. Display cases look somewhat empty, unlike their counterparts from France; however, the staff is excellent and the food is good. Coffee is great too.
This cafe is great cause of the big windows!
This place it the best. The staff is kind and the service is super fast. The tables and floors are clean and the food is excellent. The ice tea is made in house and is the best that I have ever tried. It is wonderful. The deserts (patisseries) are so good. I will for sure tell all of my friends and family about this place.
Best place to have a coffee and desserts in Ottawa)))) in love with atmosphere inside... very good service
Great experience. The ambience and customer service are great.
Love this place!
Top
Feels France!
Omg I’m in love with the almond croissants ????❤️
Fantastic place and it has nice atomosphere. And it also has lots of variety of salads and also delocious donuts.
great fresh products
Great pastries and service!
A bright and airy coffee shop right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. I imagine this place is slammed during the weekday lunch hour. Moulin offers way more than just coffee offering an array of salads, sandwiches and pastries. It also a full on bakery. There seems to be plenty of seating although it was already 20% full on a sleepy Saturday morning. The croissant was pretty good, but the blueberry turnover was a turnoff. They were really hyping the Goat coffee the day I visited which is a local Ottawa bean roaster that always provides a good cup of coffee. If you are in a hurry for a cup of joe the Bridgehead next door may be a better option. Buy if you want to enjoy sipping a cappuccino and pastry, cookie or sandwich Moulin may be the better choice. Moulin had Justin Trudeau cookies when I visited. It's hard to believe our Prime Minister,s selfies are now on a cookie but unfortunately it's tru deau.
Great place!
Delicious and reasonably priced pastries and coffees!
(Translated) It is very nice to be served in French. The hot menu would be better displayed on the board with the prices. I saw it after ordering. Nice bright and clean place. Nice choice of good products. (Original) C'est très agréable de se faire servir en français . Le menu chaud gagnerait à être affiché sur le tableau avec les prix. Je l'ai vu après avoir commandé. Bel endroit lumineux et propre . Beau choix de bons produits.
Excellent..we really enjoyed the food
I come here regularly for the cinnamon bun which is excellent. I have also tried the chocolate croissant and sourdough bread. I feel like they all are good but the bread does lack that essential sour dough vibe. I have also been really impressed by their extra cautious approach over covid closures. No one comes in, order and pick up at the from door with a debit or credit card. Thank you
Milk was extra hot, ruining the latte.
Soup selection has gone downhill. Went in and order the butternut squash soup and when I was paying for it noticed that it was a whitish colour when it's normally orange so I asked if they were certain it was the squash and not the white bean vegetable that was also on the menu. They assured me it was so I went back to work and sat down to eat it. It was definitely the white bean. I've also ordered the ice coffee in the past and was disappointed to watch them pour hot coffee over a few ice cubes, giving me room temperature coffee.
This was my first time there. It has some beautiful looking desserts, bread and sandwiches. I ordered the custard millefeuille and the one at the front of the display looked beautiful but unfortunately I was given one that was crusty and looked like it was made yesterday morning probably. Disappointed and will make sure to ask ask for the fresh one next time.

Excellent coffee, delicious croissants, great service!
Great place to stop for a coffee or to grab a bite
Excellent service, delicious food, very clean!
This is a beautiful place, very clean and accessible, staff are friendly and professional, food is amazing. Soups and sandwiches are delicious. Then there’s the bread and dessert! I could not get enough and would highly recommend Le Moulin De Province KD to all my friends and family. Thanks for a beautiful and tasty lunch!
Nice place. Good choices of coffee and patries. There are many different types of breads, and cakes. Reasonable prices.
(Translated) Very tasty, but a little expensive (Original) Sehr lecker, aber etwas teuer
I never bother with reviews but this was hands down one of the saddest excuses for a croissant I've ever had. Honestly, even Tim Horton's comes closer to a French pastry... this had the texture of a bread roll. Gave it away it was so bad.
