What a beautiful supermarket. Very clean, amazing quality in produce, shelves fully stocked and neatly placed (all labels facing front) very polite staff. The nut and cheese counters offer a huge selection to satisfy your needs. Both Adonis stores in the Ottawa/Gatineau set an example of how the grocery stores should be. Other grocery stores should adopt their business model.

This is the place to go if you think wearing your mask is optional, they don't have mandates here. Today was packed and some woman was walking around without a mask. As far as I could tell, I was the only one who bothered telling her she should be wearing one. The manager on the floor said nothing about it to her and I watched her go through the cash without so much as a single protest or request to wear a mask.

Great place with a great variety of food and helpful staff. The store was busy but I didn't have to wait long for anything. It seems that the staff are getting into the flow. The cheese/olive/deli bar will allow you to sample anything you like before purchasing which makes the experience that much better. Pastry--my favourite part of the store! Tried maamoul (pistachio & dates), and Ashta squares and they were all EXCELLENT. Samboosik--these are meat filled pockets and they were really good. Roasted chicken--unfortunately that was my least favorite because it lacked flavour. Fruits/veg--very good display and excellent variety. Prices--somethings are cheaper than other grocery stores and some things are more expensive, but that's everywhere you go. I'd definitely go back and would recommend it.

Excellent shop. Avoid the fruit drinks they serve next to the pastries, it's not that good. They also don't have any lardons. Aside from that, great selection of French products from France. Layout of the store is fantastic, they are one of the only stores that offers habeneros, they have long green peppers and the small red ones for Szechuan dishes. They also have a free sample and breakfast counter like Costco.

The staff is absolutely rude and lack the basics of customer service. Adonis is a favorite for more exotic foods originating from the Montreal area. The first store opened quite a few years ago and it has not stopped expanding since. It's great to see one in the Ottawa area, and the store is a full size store offering all of the same great fruits and vegetables as well as specialty food items as the stores in Montreal.

I had heard so much about this store when it opened up, that I was really excited to finally shop there. I expected to find fresh and beautiful produce, high quality meats and a tempting olive bar and a large bakery... Unfortunately, this is not at all what I was met with. Not worth the detour. For a guy who is from a Lebanese origins, this is the place to go for me, the Lebanese food to me isnt just a food, its memories, always make me smile and think of the good old days, therefor when i go shopping there, i simply smile with every pick as every meal reminds me of my mom’s, memories and gatherings. Do not trust the ‘halal’ meat there. I asked the meat dept employee if the ground beef in the display case was halal and he said, “Well we mix both non-halal and halal together and so basically yes, it’s halal”. Also, both types of meat in packages on the shelves are unorganized, so it would be easy to accidentally buy the wrong type.

Why am I just finding out about this place now? Adonis has everything we need for produce and ingredients for everything we do at home (it's not so well stocked for finished processed foods though) And the prices are sometime a shock. Like shockingly low. We just keep the same budget and increase the quantity and come home with way more stuff than the fresho or loblaws or even the costco.

Amazing store, cannot be compared to other supermarkets. Most affordable cheese in town, amazing international products as well as a lot of local vegetable and fruit (support local!). Adonis is one of the four or five area grocery stores we shop regularly. It's unique on the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River in the offered variety of middle eastern specialty foods. There are often good deals on produce. Today though, all the salad greens looked a bit wilted. That can be the case at any store, but today we had to make another stop to get the salad greens. Service is good, but we skipped one counter because the store was too busy. The grocery business seems to be very competitive in Gatineau, and the addition of Adonis has made it even more so.

Went twice to this location and will never return. Service was better than the first time I went which was 10 days after opening, but this store is a disappointment overall. Everything savory they make under their Adonis brand or the take-out is WAY TOO salty. Beef Shawarma was INEDIBLE so much it tasted like brine. Two items scanned higher at checkout, but the cause was misplacement on the shelves. Lots of missing prices too, you have to find a price checker. Shelf items are expensive if not on sale. Not one employee greeted me or more telling, had a smile on their face. I remember their stores in Montreal and Laval being better, but that was before Metro bought them.

We have had only very good experiences shopping at this amazing specialty grocery store. It has a huge parking lot and inside there is a fabulous selection in each of the departments they specialize in. The prices on items bought in bulk are very good. I love the huge array of nuts, pickles, cheeses, cold cuts, marinated chicken breasts (the best shish taouk!), meats, fish, seafood, baklava and other desserts, hummus and sauces (the best garlic sauce!), all kinds of pre made salads, take it and more. When the store is busy, they use a number system for service. If there aren't a lot of people, they just serve you right away, no number necessary. The staff we've been served by were all polite and competent. Now that we have discovered Adonis we will continue to shop there as often as possible for all of our favorite Lebanese style specialty foods.

We bought what was supposed to be a fresh fish from their seafood section in the rear of the store. Brought it home, seasoned and baked it. We took one bite and all had to spit it out. The entire thing went in the trash. It had a horrible metallic taste which is a sign that it was not properly stored. It cost us nearly $30 for that god awful fish. Never again.

Just bought what they call Butter Chicken. Well i would say it is not butter chicken but butter potatoes with some vegetable. Since Adonis expand at least in Gatineau i wonder where their their previous quality in product is gone. Yesterday was my first time ever shopping at this grocery chain and I was very pleased with the service, selection of items, and overall experience. All of the staff I encountered were very attentive and pleasant. Anytime I approached the counters, even just to browse, I was always greeted with a smile and asked if I needed anything. I bought some pre made Adonis brand meat pies and they were really good. I also purchased their hummus, garlic, and some olives. Everything tasted great. I am definitely going to be a regular here.

This place offers varied selection of products ranging from diary to fresh cakes, and cookies which is often hard to find some of those types in any other stores. Butchery section offers fresh, and tastey meat. Adonis also has a resturant section which offers delicious, and big portion food with reasonable price. It has perfect location with plentiful parking space. In addition, they often have a cheaper price for regular items. Moreover, I think they have best pita bread. I get used to buy them from Metro stores, however you can find fresh one here.

Great prices in general. Unique product offerings well known by the Lebanese community. They are adjusting slowly but surely by having bilingual staff throughout store. They don't necessarily hold every items your local grocer would and that's ok. Bakery on site, freshest cheapest pita bread available (yum), their bakery section is authentic and goooood., great fish selection and will prepare if you wish. Take out meal (or eat in small, clean cafeteria), great olive, nuts, cheese counters and meat deli shop with staff answering your questions. Fair pricing throughout!

Another awful experience getting one of their mistakes corrected. This place is not worth the aggravation. If you want cheap produce just go to Maxi. If you want great produce, go to Costco. Great meat go to a butcher, pastries without mold, go to La Roi or Philouze. There is a reason this place was busy when it open and now has a fraction of the foot traffic.

Stocked up on meats tonight for my freezer including expensive lambchops that I placed in the fridge Within 2 hours, my fridge stunk and I opened the 2 packages of lambchops to find one package completely rotten. Now I have to make a phone call and a trip back to the store and hope they refund me, but I'm more concerned about getting sick from the over $100 of meat that I've frozen and CAN'T be refunded. This is the 3rd time within one year that I've received rotten meat between the Gatineau and Ottawa Adonis stores. Called and no voicemail option available- store manager's voicemail is full and unattended, and receptionist's line redirect's to the automated system.

Visited today, first time since it opened. No staff on entrance to ensure people sanitize their hands carts, are wearing masks and keeping their distance. NOONE following the arrows or lines, people going wherever they want. Didnt see staff presence to ensure people follow the rules, even on check out. Didnt see anyone cleaning the carts either. I spoke out to four persons that were not following the lines and one lady said "I know, I know, I just need one thing" come on people it's been 10 months. Get used to it, follow the rules so this can be gone. People like this will continue to be ignorant and we have to all suffer. The staff should be in place following the government rules and ensuring safety of people. Therr are also signs that no more than 180 people are allowed in the store here but who is monitoring this? Who is counting who's coming and going when there are zero staff at the entrance or the exit doors. Who's monitoring? NOONE, what's the point?

I love this place! The produce is incredible, organized and well laid out. The entire grocery store is very clean and looked after. Thoughtful layout makes perfect shopping sense. I just don't know what is going on in the fish/seafood section of this store! About a month ago, i bought some shrimp at the store, when I got home and opened the bag it stank so badly they were rotten. I returned to the store same day, shrimp and bill in hand and was reimbursed. Today, I went and got some rainbow trout and guess what!! It's also rotten. Now sadly I won't return for a refund considering all the measures for COVID-19, and considering I don't have the time for this since it will be painstakingly long. In any case, I will not be buying any more fish/seafood from Adonis anymore!

I don't recommend this store for a few reasons: 1. I felt sick when I was in there - I think they lack proper air ventilation. 2. Missing prices and missing labels on where the food comes from. 3. Used to go to the ottawa one but since i live in gatineau i was more then happy to see this one.The issue i have is that the same soups from both store are very different(gatineau ones are watery and lack flavour). The overall selection is lacking and so is for evrything premade at this location. Very sad to see such differences in the same franchise.
