Exquisite cookies and pastries, beautiful to look at and mouthwatering to eat! Each one is unique. Even a small tray of a dozen cookies is arranged with care and wrapped like a gift. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

Crivellers made our wedding cake. It was beautiful and fresh but did not taste as good as the sample we were given at our tasting/consultation. Also, stingy on the strawberries. Overall, not as great as expected but still better than the usual dry fondont cakes found at weddings. For the price we paid, just ok.

Hand's down, THE BEST bakery in town or anywhere so far. Better by far than the new bakery on Thorold Stone and Portage Rd that was recommended to us and for us, unfortunately, certainly did not live up to all the hype on the google reviews. So...back again to our favourite bakery, Crivellers, which provides elevated flavours and taste that does not seem to come from a box mix. Thanks for doing a great job consistently, on your sweets and cakes, can't wait to try the Black Forest cake next!

Purchased a cake I spent 110$ on . Not one person at the party of over 35 people mostly kids , would eat the cake. It was so disgusting. No flavour, the top was decorated with what felt like corn meal and the texture of the cake was like a frozen and dethawed tiramisu. I've been making my own cakes since then and have had no complaints. When I brought the cake to the shop that same day he had the nerve to tell me that I must be used to boxed cake flavour and can't tell what a good cake tastes like. He agreed to only give me 50$ back of the original 110$. My little brother cried out of embarrassment saying all his friends hated his cake. It was his first ever birthday party. Thank you for ruining it and insulting your customers. Not impressed. I make sure to tell everyone I know about the service I recieved, and tell them to order from you at their own risk

This place has a well earned reputation if being top notch. They've been around for 40+ years and unlike a lot of legacy places, they do not take it for granted. Still has that Day 1 pride and effort in everything they do. Their special occasion cakes are infamous for good reason as they truly are outstanding. Whenever we have a special occasion, we make the drive from Hamilton to get their cakes and pastries. If you are looking for a place to do your wedding cake, look no further- no other place can come close to them- you will not be disappointed.

Can I leave a 6-star review? I can't say enough about how incredibly delicious the cheesecake that I ordered for a birthday was. Not only was this the most delicious cheesecake, nay, the most delicious taste experience I think I've ever had, but the cheesecake was an unexpected work of art. Mostly mediocre wedding cake style stuff. If you want nice modern cakes with fondant and cool designs aka modern style cake don't go here. They say they can do "any cake" but you're going to pay for it. My moms terminal and I wanted a really nice fancy chocolate cake... they pitched me white chocolate which totally filled me with doubt but they assured me it would be beautiful. Literally looks like every stock cake in the joint... waste of 65$ definitely go somewhere that makes modern cakes. I would recommend this place for weddings though and the cake tastes good.

Owner was rather rude and outright lied. They no longer sell small desserts by YOUR choice unless you call ahead and pre order. They make pre selected trays, at $40+, for random items that you'll likely not even want! When I asked if we could purchase items of our own choosing, the response I got from the owner was, "not gonna happen." Who talks to customers that way!? And the lie.... public health told us to do it this way! Lies, I know for a fact that is NOT what public health inspectors are requiring. Don't lie and blame other agencies for your choice not to sell your items the same as usual. I'm completely turned off now and won't return.

CRIVELLER CAKES FORGOT TO MAKE OUR CAKE and are now IGNORING US!! Think twice before ordering a cake from Criveller Cakes because you might not have a cake at all!!! First of all, it pains me to write a negative review like this because everyone is human and makes mistakes, especially while running a business and trying to keep track of multiple orders. The problem isn’t that they forgot the cake, the problem lies within how they fix their mistakes.... they don’t! My daughter’s baptism was at the beginning of March. We ordered her a beautiful cake and cross from Criveller Cakes (similar to what we previously had for our other 2 children - we wanted them to have the same for their baptism days). The cake was suppose to be delivered to our banquet hall for the day of the baptism. When we got to the banquet hall, there was no cake! Thinking they were running late in delivering, we called to ask where the cake was. Their response was “there is no cake for you, we never made one”. Giovanni was the one who took our cake order and we were told that Giovanni was the one who put our order in the “wrong place” and then went on vacation so no one was aware that our order ever existed! We were also told there was nothing they could do at this point. So my daughter had NO baptism cake! This was a big deal for us because we did not order a dessert for our guests from the banquet hall since we were going to be serving the cake as dessert! The chef at our banquet hall was nice enough to run to Fortino’s and pick up whatever cake they had just so we at least had something for our guests. A few days after the baptism, Leo called us and was very apologetic for what had happened and promised to make it up to us. We told him on the phone that we understand things like this happen, what’s done is done. He agreed that it should not have happened and we can’t get that special day back. He told us to call them for anything that we needed in the future and they would make sure we had it. He also said that the cross we ordered was saved for us and we would be getting it ASAP to hang up in our daughter’s room (again, my other 2 children have the same cross so we want the cross for our third child as well) Leo finished the conversation stating that Giovanni would be back from his vacation in a couple of days and he would also call us to apologize and discuss how to make up for their mistake. Giovanni never called us!!! Fast forward 2 months later!!! And we STILL have not heard from ANYONE from Criveller Cakes!! Not even a single call from Giovanni who apparently was the one who made the mistake in the first place. We have called numerous times and we keep getting told that Leo and Giovanni are busy and we will get a phone call back. It should not even be up to us to call them! If I didn’t have 3 kids under 4 and I didn’t live 45 minutes away I would have already gone into the shop and demanded to speak to them! I guess that is what I have to do very soon since NO ONE seems to care about calling us back! I’m upset with how they treat their long time customers !!! We (as well as family members) have ordered bridal shower cakes, wedding cake, baptism cakes, first birthday cakes and many other pastries from there for special occasions!! The second they make a mistake they will ignore you! Very unprofessional! It’s a shame because I would always recommend Criveller Cakes to anyone that was looking for cakes/pastries for their special event, but now, I will be sharing this unfortunate story and lack of customer service with everyone I know!!

My family has been purchasing cakes from Criveller for the past 30 years. The quality has completely declined. In the past couple of years the cakes have been very dry. I can get a cheaper cake freshly baked at the grocery store, rather than paying $60 for something that was defrosted the day before. Cake decorations are outdated and cheap. It's always the same tacky mass of white chocolate. The final straw for me was when they spelled the person's name on the cake incorrectly, in the worst handwriting I've ever seen on a cake. Instead of starting over on a fresh piece of sugar(?), they went back over the typo to try and hide the error.

This is a true Konditorei (German, I don't know the Italian for cake shop, and cake shop sounds so banal for Giovanni's creations) which would hold it's own with top quality establishments of it's kind anywhere in Europe - and it is definitely tops in Niagara Falls.

I had them make a cake in the shape of sushi for my wife's birthday. All I could do was give them a few pictures to work off of and hope for the best. Holy crap did they come through! They made a dozen mini cakes that look absolutely perfect. I'm so happy I went with Criveller and will the next time I need anything made. Thanks for the creativity you put in to make this special for her!

Amazing cake!! Thank you so much ! I was coming from Toronto to pick up my cake right at closing. And I was so late, they told me on phone that they could leave it for me by porch which was absolutely okay with me, because we were going to be 15 min late. And the manager had to go somewhere after closing at 5 pm. When we got there, we arrived at 5:17 and the manager was there waiting because he didn't want to leave the cake alone. He was so nice to do that for us ! I felt so bad that he actually stayed and waited. Thank you again you're amazing!! The cake was delicious and beautifully made !

I had one of their signature cakes made for our wedding last June. It was absolutely AMAZING- both in looks and in taste! It tastes even better than it looks (which I didn't think could be possible). It honestly has ruined cake for me though. No other cake can compare. My mother is still talking about it and constantly reminds me that we need to drive to Niagara Falls (3 hours away) just for another cake when she visits this summer. The people working at Criveller Cakes are also spectacular to work with.

Who needs to watch Canada’s Best Baking challenge when you can experience it right here. Twenty five years ago Crivellers did the sweet table at our wedding, and we’ve been fans ever since. Came here last minute for a family member's birthday cake and it was a huge hit for all of us. Lucky for us, they had one on hand. It was so pretty and elegant. It had white chocolate ruffled all over the cake, the icing was fluffy whipped icing. Inside was a vanilla cake layered with fruit. It wasn't overly sweet, it was perfect! Service was so courteous and kind! Really wish I could get them same cake to take on a 7 hour drive for my mom's birthday!
