Yes, they’re phenomenal. Moderately expensive and well justified because they and very well made, high quality pastries. Update: They now offer coffee that is really good too. I like their iced Americano. It was top-notch.

Brought them to my family. My brother said “not gonna lie, this is incredible. It’s on par with the best in NYC”. My mother goes “this is outstanding. It’s going to be wasted on your father”. My father said “we’ll it ain’t Dunkin but it’ll do”. That’s the best recommendation I can give you.

Butter Block is a gem. These are the closest pastries in the Buffalo area to French pastries. We are very lucky to have them!

This place sells out fast so get here early as there is always a well deserved socially distanced line on the sidewalk. The service is quick, great and friendly. I truly enjoy their croissants and poptarts! I'm glad they've stayed open during these times as they cater to sweet tooth cravings so well!

Flora Lee

Best chocolate croissants! Fantastic variety of sweet and savory, oh, and fancy tartlets too!

Delicious crossiants and other baked goods. Prices range from $4-$6 dollars for just a kit everything. Their crossiants are so dang buttery and delicious. I had an apple cinnamon roll and it was bomb!

The pies are to pie for. I got the apple berry pie and have gotten other items here, it's some of the best you'll find anywhere in the world imo

Delicious crispy buttery croissants. I love their eclair as well. And always order the onion gruyere danish from there as well. Highly recommended to pastry lovers.

I have only been here a handful of times but each time I have been met with friendly service and delicious baked goods. The plain croissants are melt in your mouth buttery goodness. The morning bun is also rather delicious and a great alternative to a cinnamon roll. Prices are more than fair for the quality of the food. For convenience you can pre-order for curbside pickup on their website. Get there early if you aren't preordering though because once they're out, they're out.

What a crazy place for super crispy and buttery croissant! To be honest the fruit tart was delicious but the custard was a little bit too stiff and it didn’t well combine with the shell. However, the shell is delicious like butter biscuit.

after reading an article by a food writer that said the croissants here rival the ones in Paris, I had to try them. I got 7 different items to try. at first inspection I was skeptical of the freshness just because they didnt seem very soft to the touch so I didnt have high hopes, let me start by saying it was possibly the best croissant I have ever had. flaky outside with a soft inside and a rich buttery taste. The other thing that was amazing was the kouign amann. crisp flaky exterior with subtle sweetness mixed with the rich butter flavor, peeled apart the layers- it was absolute heaven. 5 stars for that one. the chocolate chunk cookie was soooo rich and chocolatey, soft chewy center, a bit harder at the edges but not dry. delicious. had a caramel poptart, which was better when i warmed it up for a few seconds in the microwave- the crust once again had the rich butter taste, soft crumbly melt in your mouth texture like home made pie crust. the filling was great and the icing was subtly sweet. the monkey bread was a bit dry on the outside. the layers underneath were better when heated up a bit, became softer...nice chewy texture with a sticky sweetness caramelized all over it. my least favorite ( yet my friends most favorite) were the eclairs. i got hazelnut and a vanilla. I am not really an eclair lover though...the hazlenut one had much more flavor in my opinion. the vanilla one to me seemed a bit bland. butter block is a fitting name because there was certainly a rich buttery taste to the pastries that was fantastic. will definitely go back.

Every item i bought was divine.

There isn’t much to add that other reviewers haven’t mentioned, but this is simply the best patisserie. I still dream about their pear-almond bostock, which was so perfectly flavored.

Ok. I live next door to the best kind of food snobs. When I tasted two different offerings from Butter Block I knew I just had to bring them something to taste! First, my daughter and I ate all we bought. Then, we bought more and managed to save two croissants to share. The reaction was just as I suspected... sheer delight. THANK YOU Artisans from this amazing land of deliciousness! Can’t wait to walk a few more miles, and fit in a few push ups, then treat myself to more of your delicacies. What you bake really is a gift!!!

I LOVE the baked goods from this place! The almond filled croissants are amazing as well as the caramelized onion ones and the 'breakfast' buns. The only real problem is that they often run out of things so it is wise to place an online order and pick 'em up.

Legitimate best pastries outside of NYC

Tremendous service, cooperation, flexibility, and even better food! My wife and I were hoping to use the amazing pastry work of the Butter Block team as our wedding reception dessert in lieu of a traditional cake. Attempting to get married in the pandemic world that was 2020, we would have to change plans for different dates, locations, ideas, etc. at least 3 times. Colleen and the Butter Block team were with us every step of the way, supporting us in every shift that we had to make to get through the uncharted waters of last year. They were absolutely fantastic to work with. We eventually settled on getting a bunch of different breakfast quiches, pastries, croissants, pop-tarts, etc. as a following day brunch type of thing. Everything was perfection, from the display to the delicious flavor, we could not have been happier with how it all turned out. It turned a special experience into an unforgettable one. I would highly recommend going with Butter Block for any event, occasion, or quick snack with your coffee.

Had the worst "coffee" I have ever had. Butter Block needs to stick to baked goods only. The latte I had today was overly sweet, burnt coffee, and the "hazelut" milk was rancid. YIKES! Also if the person at the front is going to ask for gratuity she should be instructed to say thank you. After I gave my gratuity she do not say thank you. There was a lady after me who also gave gratuity to whom she also did not thank. To make it less awkward why don' you just give us the terminal so we can put it the amount we want. At least the screen will thank us.

Absolutely delicious, I thought I went to Europe for some croissants

I particularly enjoy the almond croissants, as well as the hazelnut chocolate croissants. Oh, and the morning buns. On weekends, best to arrive around 7:45 so you can be the first (or one of the first) in line, for by the time the store opens, there's usually quite a queue.

Unmatched richness in flavor that I have not experienced on this side of the Ocean. Brings back the memories of walking the streets of Paris.

I ordered boxes of croissants from BB several times and they were always very good. Expensive, but good. More recently, they were hard and chewy (like something you'd get at a supermarket). I think they are just baking them too long, or perhaps selling day old croissants. I emailed BB through the link on their website two weeks ago to see what was up, but I never received a response.
