Here you will be able to see the opinions of people who purchase the services of Sweet Gallery Exclusive Pastry (Bakery) around Etobicoke territory (Canada).
At present the business receives a score of 4.5 over 5 and the rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings that it reaches is almost the highest, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very credible. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give tatings when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Bakery is classified in the category of Bakery.
Sweet Gallery offers delicious European style cakes and pastries. I have ate many of their cakes, pastries, soups and sandwiches and all are made of high quality. The soups and sandwiches are hearty. We are neighbours so, when my staff and I get a “sweet craving” one of us goes into the Sweet Gallery “cookie jar” and gets something for everyone. All my staff loves the pastries at Sweet Gallery. When I have new staff, I always walk them over and introduce them. Angie and Gord, the owners are super nice and friendly. All the staff is attentive and sweet. They always remember to put a fork into the bag for the cakes!!!!!!
Classic, old-school pastry shop that, year after year, has been selling tasty cake slices and sweets. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"
Amazing cakes!! Great service, good coffee
Great European Bakery for those that like the traditional pastries! Lots of room for a sit down coffee and treat! Delicious goodies!
Relaxed eastern European bakery and coffee shop.
Best cookies ever!
I have been a customer for over 20 years, and I still haven’t found anyone that does European-style cakes and pastries better than this wonderful family-run and -owned shop. Open soon!! I have a ton of birthday cakes to order. Peace in these difficult and challenging times. Stay safe. ????????????
The desserts here are spectacular, everything looks good and taste good! Very Authentic!
Passed this place many times leaving the Kipling Station parking lot and thought it was a candy factory. When I noticed all the cars in the parking lot one Saturday I popped in to have a look and realized it is a bakery. While looking around a customer told me it was a great place to have lunch. My wife and I were looking for a dessert to take to a birthday party so we popped in and then decided to have lunch. Found out that they have table service and a lunch menu so we took a seat and ordered the goulash soup and a ham and cheese sandwich. It came on a fresh baked buttery croissant. The soup was full of beef and potatoes. Someone else came in and ordered the goulash and a slice of bread. A repeat customer I suspect because he understood how filling the soup was. Despite being stuffed, I could not resist ordering the Austrian Apple strudel. Delicious. They have a large selection of cakes and a wonderous selection of cookies to choose from. I will definitely have to return to try some of these. Service was excellent and very friendly. Cozy place to have lunch and obviously a popular bakery from the volume of customers who came in and out while we sat there for lunch. Popular place considering it seems to be in a industrial part of time. No longer a mystery to me and I will be returning.
Great atmosphere and decor! Excellent strudel.
The lady mostly that serves is a little rude and moody, but the other staff food and environment absolutely amazing.
Highly recommend!
Best coffee and european pastry place in Toronto! Kind people!
Sweet Gallery is a unique place in the West Toronto. It is a cafe, restaurant and sweets shop all in once. You can come for a coffee, breakfast or lunch, or you can come to shop for dessert for your home or office party. Or, if you really want to go big, you can order your wedding cake and celebrate in style.
Fresh quality products !
Love the variety of European cakes and pastries!
The place is beautiful! And the staff very helpful and courteous.
Very high quality Pastry Shop, run by a group of fantastic, always smiling ladies. If you want high quality, authentic pastries (a lot of them uniquely European) with quality ingredients, use of sugar with moderation and a good assortment (not too much stuff but not too many either), this is your place. Cakes are usually offered in two sizes and they can custom do about anything. I love this place for ordering a big cake or just grabbing a couple of pastries with a coffee. No internet here! so you won't be bothered by a bunch of students if you choose to enjoy the goodies in-house.
Great pastries and cakes but lacklustre service (V the server, helped herself to salad and bread and ate 3 different things during service!) and your microwaved quiche nearly ruined my visit. Please use an oven to reheat your lunch items-- you're destroying perfectly good quiche and burek.
I usually hold back on writing bad reviews, but the service that I received at this establishment was so demeaning that it deserved a follow-up. It was my first time visiting Sweet Gallery, so I called ahead of time to make sure that they were open. My call was fielded by a delightful bloke named Gord. When I finally arrived at the store, I took less than a minute to decide which delightful treats to take home. A woman named Angie served me. She was vexed because I didn't order right away. She muttered something under her breath that even made her two assistants embarrassed to be there. I spent a total of $40 on that transaction, and in retrospect, I should have cancelled the order and left. But the cashier, Danielle, handled the incident well. Thanks for that, Danielle. Sadly, I won't be a returning customer.
A true gem. My mom says you won't find a better sachertorte in all of Vienna - and that says a lot!
I had loved Sweet Gallery for the last 30 years - making sure we ordered cakes from this shop for most of our special occasions. I am disappointed, but clearly Sweet Gallery isn't, that isn't the case anymore. Apparently their World Class Pastry Chef, trained in Austria, calls a torte with walnut buttercream and regular chocolate cake a Sacher Torte. As an Austrian I find that ignorantly offensive - a proper Sacher Torte is a chocolate cake with Apricot jam. I spent $99 on 2 cakes and they did not meet up to their regular quality. Laughable that a trained pastry chef does not know what a Sacher Torte is. I will be patronizing Stubbe's from now on - a trained pastry chef who clearly understands that a Sacher Torte is a Sacher torte and not a creation of an inflated ego. Rant over!!
We ordered a Black Forest cake for my sisters birthday. The sponge and the cream were very dry, and the cake overall tasted stale. As well when we cut into the cake it was frozen. It was our first time ordering here and definitely our last.
Amazing place, people were really kind and the cake looks and tastes amazing! 100% recommend
My favourite
Hands down this is the best place for homemade sweet European desserts. Superb. Retro decor but simply awesome
Amazing place for European deserts. Strawberry cheesecake, Walnut torte, ishlers, cookies, pishinger, opera slices. I have been getting their cakes for over 20 years, the quality is always exceptional, the service is great. Too bad they moved from Bloor/ Jane to Bering, but the drive is still worth it!
great pastries
Updated review in response to the owner feedback: If you had taken the time to read my profile you would understand that I use an alias instead of my real name. We were a walkin customer at the time of the purchase; therefore, you would not have found our real names in your order list either. The way you mock a customer, while you are the establishment that provided the bad service and subpar product is befuddling. Regardless of everything trying to reply a review that was posted 4 months ago is a "beacon of customer care" that should be "replicated" by all store owners who wish to go bankrupt asap. After your demeaning reply I would rather eat a candy bar than eat a desert at your establishment. We trusted the positive reviews; however, I was appalled by the service and the quality of deserts in this establishment. I bought a black forest cake to take it to a dinner party. When we started eating the cake, we realized that the cake was halfway frozen. We were not told the cake was frozen. People were not able to eat it. Very unfortunate.
Turkish background people would love it. Excellent "borek", "baklava". Healthy food. Try the tarts.
(Translated) Not bad. Delicious coffee and cakes. All the best. (Original) Није лоше. Укусна кафа и колачи. Све најбоље.
Good food, good atmosphere and service, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth going to.
The cafe hours may suck, but the service, cakes and coffee is what keeps me coming back ????
A little Europe in the city
Very comfy place. They have a great selection of sweet things to share with your well prepared coffe. Everything is very clean and excellent maintenance. Staff is friendly.
I am from Europe and i like this European Serbian nice menu in soups salads and cakes.
You will never find this gem in Etobicoke. Amazing sweets, lunch and tea. Great place for a lunch or all the pastries you can imagine.
My husband and I come here weekly. We love the cozy and elegant atmosphere. The food is great and the cakes and pastries are still reasonably priced and very good. Strawberry romonoff is a must to try ????
Great food, excellent services, enjoyed my first visit with a friend on her birthday ????????
Delicious! A hidden gem.
My family and I have been coming here for years, and no pastry shop compares to their incredible sweets!!! Their rum balls in particular are to 'die for'! For a lighter option, they have fantastic bureks and salads. We highly recommend Sweet Gallery for your sweet tooth!
Very good cakes and pastries
Great deserts and coffee. Comfortable tables for two. The restaurant has the feel of a European coffee shop.
The best pastry place in town, but if you want cheap go walmart
Their Burek is amazing. I grew up with Serbian friends and theirs is better than I have ever had. The food in general is very home style. I m not into cakes but they looked good.
Great cakes and more
Always friendly service and amazing pastries/cakes. The black forest is the best I've ever had.
The greatest cake bakery in Toronto. Probably a good thing they don’t deliver or I’d order weekly.
Whether you're in the mood for a European style lunch or just need some pastries or a cake, Sweet Gallery has you covered. Really miss the location in Bloor West Village.
This is one amazing bakery, everything is so good. Highly recommended this bakery.
Excellent food! Desserts are superb. Really nice people. What more can you ask? Love this little place!
Always good coffee and the sweets are top quality. Friendly and patient service
Omg... So delicious! Very affordable. The quiche was amazing. The desserts... So much to choose from! We got extra! It's that good. Go and visit. Bring your appetite!
Fresh and high quality cakes !
The most delicious salmon bagel in town! And of course sweets, you can not afford to miss on them! Truly European quality desserts.
Best place to satisfy that sweet tooth
We got our wedding cake from Sweet Gallery and our guests raved about how delicious it was. We had many family and friends ask to take a piece home with them! When my family lived in Toronto, we would always get Sweet Gallery cakes for special occasions, so we were absolutely thrilled to continue that tradition at our wedding. The smaller cake you did for our cake cutting was gorgeous with the polka dots. We almost didn't want to cut into it! Thank you for making our big day so special!
Got the Dobos Tort and it was good
Had Reform cake yesterday. Must go back for more tomorrow!! I miss European cakes. Thank you Sweet Gallery for making the most delicious cakes in TO
My fiancé and I Went for a "wedding cake tasting", very excited, booked an appointment a week prior to this day. Not only did we not get greeted in a friendly manner but they messed up our time for the appointment and thought it was for 3. 30 mins later we finally got served (STILL FROZEN) coffee cake, toffee cake and wafer cake.......:NOT WEDDING CAKE SAMPLES. Charged 25 dollars plus tax even tho most places do free cake tastings now. We had a few bites of the slices of cake, and didn't enjoy ANY. We expressed our feelings in a kind manner and they still wanted us to pay the full amount of 25 dollars. When we kindly told them that we did not find a need to pay for a few bites of cake and the rest we left completely untouched. Very disappointed with this place . Don't wish this experience to anybody! As we left we had all staff shaking their heads. Not even worth one star in my opinion.
Excellent pastries and cake!! European sweets at it's best!! Love this place. Amazing customer service.
Great lunch
????????????European Cakes
You'll love everything baked here.
A great pastry shop that has been in Etobicoke for a long time. All desserts are amazing, if a little overpriced
Good European desserts by the slice or to order whole cakes. Coffee is good & so is the service. No evening hrs due to industrial area.????
Great place. All fresh ingredients. Have been ordering cakes here since my first birthday. Cute inside decor.
Delicious! Sweet spot for a pastry and tea on the second floor patio among the treetops!
Great quality. Can be expensive but quality is not cheap.
Top quality pastries and cakes. They’ve been a fixture in Toronto for decades.
Food is excellent. Staff was very helpful and professional. I'll be back!
Open for the spring. Great service. Good coffee. Very good pastries. Cozy atmosphere.
Delicious pastries and a fantastic Hungarian Goulash.
Delicious treats :) Great people, highly recommend.
Cakes out of this world! Fresh, delicious with every fork full. You will never be disappointed. Good coffee, & service.
Fantastic baked goods. Cakes are top notch, cookies are amazing and the people serving you are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. All COVID-19 precautions are being taken. I would definitely recommend this place for your baked goods.
Cute cafe, friendly environment but definitely overpriced all the pasteries looked the same.
This hidden former"gem"" tucked away in an industrial area is now under new management. Hence the term "former". There is an old adage which says if it is not broken do not try to fix it. It is too bad this was not taken into consideration by the new management. I have frequented this establishment for many years as have many of my friends and we have all reached the same conclusion. Aside , from the new menu which has been printed (the cost I am sure absorbed by the hefty increase for various items), there seems to be a sadness hanging over the former staff---no longer the smiling faces and laughter . The best I can now say about this restaurant is the server Violet and hard working Zoriza behind the counter who still try their best to please the customers. The increase in price though is not warranted in this area and sadly I feel will lead many of the regular customers (especially the seniors)to more pleasant and reasonable alternatives. What a shame……………………..
Awesome place great friendly service
Excellent, all natural, nothing artificial !!!
Oh wow! Best treat I have had in a long time!!
Good food and pleasant surrounding
Their cakes are delicious & the staff is so friendly ! I have worked with them for my valentine’s day treats, birthday cakes, and even my wedding cake. Always great service & amazing taste. Strongly recommend.
Amazing desserts, consistently. The ladies there are always sweet and accommodating.
Very nice place, very cozy! Cakes are delicious - much, much better than the typical North American cakes. The only critique I have is that they didn't have many cakes available by the piece.
The pastries are very tasty, however the customer service was rude. Not even a "hi, how are you?" Or a "thank you, please come again." Very short and cold with customers.
Great food. Lovely little spot.
A nice small coffee/tea house selling a bunch of sweet and savory dishes. They also have a patio.
Went there with my family for breakfast and the service was horrible. Our server was cleaning the floor with her hand and then handling our plates serving our table. My daughters ordered fruit juice and they never came to the table. The server never even asked for my order and we wanted tea and additional orders but the server was busy cleaning the floor with her hands.
We were very disappointed with our wedding cake, it looked like a child made it and it tasted incredibly stale. Would not recommend
The food isn't the greatest, and pretty expensive for such low quality of food... but what made the experience worse was the service! The lady who was serving was very rude to us. When we we're ordering food on the menu, she was like "WE DON'T HAVE THAT DISH YET" in a very rude tone, and there was like 3 things we picked that was apparently not on the menu anymore... (if you're going to have things not on the menu, maybe you should let your customers know instead of giving us attitude). Also, whenever we asked for water, fork or napkins, she was extremely rude and gave us attitude. IF YOUR FOOD DOESN'T TASTE GOOD AT LEAST HAVE SOME DECENT SERVICE SKILLS!
Great food
On the search for Linzer Cookies, only place I found in the city. Great thing I did, they were great! Highly recommend a visit.
Simply the best and most exquisite European pastries made in the old school way.
Love the strawberry cream cheese cake here. We get it for special occasions.
The best...the best....the best!!!!
Nice desserts. It's our go to dessert place.
We ordered a 3 tiered wedding cake for our September wedding and it was beautiful and delicious! Everyone at the Sweet Gallery was very helpful and made sure our cake was exactly what we wanted. Could not have been happier with our cake!
Cakes are amazing!
Great place, Fresh food and great customer service. I totally recommend this place.
Ordered my first marriage anniversary cake from this place. Everything right the from customer service upto cake was excellent. Would definately recommend this place.
Excellent pastries and cakes! Huge selection and great place for lunch/coffee. We ordered our wedding cake and sweet table for our wedding from The Sweet Gallery - 5 Stars - HIGHLY recommended.
great spot to satisfy your sweet tooth
Quite place and delicious dessert.
I came here once and the next day I came back! This place is amazing perfect blend of sweetness and flavour! I would definitely recommend this place for sweet lovers
Rude, extremely unpleasant current owner, no sense of customer service. Very unfortunate downward turn for what used to be a first-class, European pastry shop. Great pity the frirndly, kind previous owner passed away!
Thank you so much for creating the wedding cake of our dreams!
Sweet Gallery Exclusive Pastry . Very disappointed. We ordered our wedding Cake from them . it was not the same Cake they give us on the trying day. on top of that the decoration was not the same color as we have told to be ( Gold and White) but instead it was white and Orange . The pearls was not eatable and it was hard plastic believe from $Dollar Store. The lady who claim to be the owner was the rudest person i have ever met in my life . charged me over $ 800 . watch for the game she plays WISH THERE WAS A -5 START RATING HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND
Been coming to this place since I was small, and would get excited whenever birthdays came around because we always got a cake from here! Now moved away from Ontario so I can't have the cakes and pastries anymore. : (
Lovely people who own and run the place. Great European cakes. Nice cafe for lunch.
Nice little European sweets cafe gem hidden in an industrial area. We have been purchasing birthday cakes from this cafe for years now. Always delicious!
Good food. Great place to go to when your sweet tooth gets the better of you!
Great place and wonderful stuff
Amazing cakes!
Delicious! Used to come here as a kid and it is the same! Cozy and delicious cake and coffee. We recently got a birthday cake from here as well and it too was fantastic.
So fresh
Location is horrible..in industrial area....my first time at this location..came with friends. Atmosphere is quite... appears to attract a much older crowd... Waitress was friendly n helpful. Dessert was average...not what I expected. I'm very familiar with these Eastern European desserts.. My friends were not pleased with the food..n when the owner came by.. she seemed somewhat defensive on how they prepare their food n have been doing it for 45 years the same way..LoL Maybe it's time to change... My friends left unsatisfied..we paid the bill n left..never to return... Overall I would not recommend this place..but if you want to dare buying a cake...it may be good...bon chance
5+++++ Amazing European bakery! Cakes are like art! Must try.... Grateful for their reliable service and amazing cakes.
(Translated) Lovely place???? (Original) Sevimli bir mekan????
Omg Their sweets are my favorite indulgence. I am afraid to think what I would do for their apricot rugelach. Or a slice of hazelnut cake. Or dovbush cake. Anything there tastes like a heaven in mouth for pastry lover.
Excellent pastry and cookies. You want to spend a moment in Vienna then go to the Sweet Gallery!
Great sweets.. and even better service.. love this place!!
Have been customers for over 30 years, you cannot beat the quality of their tortes and pastries. Opera is a must try!
Love the atmosphere feels like a little cafe in europe.
One of the best European experiences in town.
I highly recommend Sweet Gallery for any Cakes, Our Company orders from Sweet Gallery and all of our employees recommend them. There slab cakes are truly amazing and I don't even request a certain flavor because we just love every cake delivered to us.
Best cookies my wife and I tried in Toronto
Love this place good tasty home made food
Great spot for tea.Excellent choices. Courteous service.
The best strawberry shortcake and almond pretzels ever!! Nothing can ever top the quality of this cafe
Got birthday cakes every year from this location. Always on time, taste good. ????????
This is honestly one of the best around in the sweet treat department! I have had the privilege of having their creations on more than one occasion... they even took it a step further when I was deployed back in 2004 and sent them to me and my soldiers. Now that is special! They were super yummy which says a lot considering it probably took a month for the package to get there back then! Look no further to cater to that sweet tooth!
Classic coffee shop
Exceptional customer service and delicious cakes and dessert. Top quality ingredients used for making there cakes. Will definitely be returning and definitely will be recommending.
This was our second visit to Toronto, but our first experience visiting Sweet Gallery. The sweets were so delicious on Thursday evening that we came back Saturday for lunch. I had a delicious croissant and soup, and my boyfriend loved his smoked salmon bagel and salad. The hot chocolate was huge and rich. Other members of our party were as pleased as we were. I took home sweets and adorable easter chocolates for the grandchildren 's easter baskets. The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place!
Excellent cake, meals, presentation, and service.
Swiss chocolate cake was delicious. I haven't been disappointed yet.
Ho ho ho Definitely I'm not Santa but here's what I have to say about this place. It is one of the few elite , I may say , places in GTA where whatever sweet you are hungry for is made with a bit of heaven incorporated in it. On my opinion is bakery at its superlative best. I don't know how they do it what they do what they use but is by miles one of the best places in bakery. Their sour cherry strudel i have no words to describe. Really go there and try I love them.
One of the best bakeries in Ontario! Beautiful, not overpriced cakes, always fresh, always delicious. Good service!
Great place a little tucked away but hidden treasure none the less! Treats are amazing and sooo fresh they are all hand made no preservatives added which is rare to fine now but definitely recommended place to see and try out!
Had a very good selection of good pastries
This is a sequel to the original review bel9w: We had part of the black forest cake left over. Over two following days, the cake tasted vastly better. Rich tasting dairy and moist, soft sponge. We would buy from Sweet Gallery again. Apparently we were given a cake that was requested by customer to be frozen for consumption later on. We ate it the same afternoon so it did not get a chance to defrost. ***** Picked up for lunch a pre-ordered black forest cake, which turned to be a let down. The cherry In the cake is still frozen. The cake sponge is dry, without any hint of the kirsh as described on the website. Overall it is very disappointing and forgettable purchase.
Cozy and good pastry
