Coffee is great, all the bread and pastries I tried are amazing too. I wish I would've discovered this place before. Special mention for their caramel cookie.

A R

Wonderful staff and the food was fantastic. Bacon egg and cheese crossants was delicious, perfect fluffy french omlette in the crossant with he salty savory bacon. The coffee was fantastic too and danishes were fresh and delicious.

Christina A

Delicious pastries!! The salted cookie is my favourite ❤ I can't wait to try the yummy foods from their brunch menu :3 #FirstTimeVisit

Andrea Lopez

The cookies are incredible.

Went there today to check out the new coffee shop opened up in our neighbourhood. They had a lovely array of freshly baked goods. We ordered a drip coffee and a prosciutto Brie sandwich. I would say the coffee and sandwich were good but a little overpriced, as it is something that you can easily assemble at home with the right ingredients - brie, prosciutto, pesto and arugula. My 3star rating of this bakery has got to do with the not so friendly customer service. I believe her to be the owner/supervisor as she was training her staff members. A review of a cafe is not only the food but also to experience a nicer, friendlier customer service on a weekend morning. Overall if you just wish to grab your coffee on the go, might as well go to McDonald’s, the coffee & breakfast menu isn’t bad and the staff smile.

Andrea Alcala-Vasquez

I was very excited to try this place because I’ve heard great things. Yesterday I got a brownie and it was delicious until I found egg shells inside. Very unpleasant. I have to say I won’t come by again.

Kabils Satchi

Had the cookie cake at a friends party. Tasted great!

MarieUrsa

Always fresh and delish ????

Angela M

My favorite bakery in the neighborhood. What makes it so fantastic? First, staff here are simply the best :) AND the baked goods, sandwiches & coffee never disappoint.

Le Gourmand hands-down has the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever tasted in my life! They're soft, buttery, rich and chocolatey. I've also tried the baguettes and they do remind me of when I was in Paris many years back. It's a small bakery right on Lake Shore with paid street parking. Very quick and friendly service as well.

Anita D (MomentaryMaven)

Excellent place! We ordered 1 coffee, 1 hot chocolate, 1 pistachio danish. $10.96 before tip. The beverages were very good. The coffee was fresh, the hot chocolate was the cocoa (other 'flavours' and a kid's version available, was hot, not too sweet. The danish was buttery, flakey, lots of filling, not too sweet -- delicious!. Friendly staff. Order in store (3 people max) and pick up at the window outside. They serve Reunion Island coffee and sell their beans too.

I bought some of these cookies because it was deemed one of the best cookies in Toronto, however I was extremely disappointed. The cookies were rock hard but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and bit into it thinking the center would be chewy and dense, instead I was greeted with a rocky edge that tasted like chips ahoy. Once I finally got to the center it was slightly chewy but not as much as I would prefer, the cookie seemed overbaked. It was not buttery, could not taste the caramelized flavor of the butter, sugar and vanilla extract considering the predominant flavor was the chocolate chips. I microwaved it but the flavor still fell short, it was lacking in something, don't know what it is. Flavors were just not balanced. Kept biting into the cookie thinking it would get better but it didn't. Definitely looks better than it tastes. Verdict: 2/5 Salt lord recommends spending the same price for one cookie to buy yourself some chips ahoy and save your time and money.

Jason Davis

Delicious! The cookies are amazing, and we enjoy the long bread, ( white baguette) !++++

BHerlin

Croissants were good in the past ... now they’re just ... meh. Customer service seems like a total confusion for the staff here. After a half dozen visits in the last two months ... I’ve given up on this place.

Kyle

ok the online presence isn't great, but the food is tasty, the cookies are huge and amazing and the coffee is good

Caroline Godin

Everything that comes out of the kitchen of this Bakery is delicious and a very high quality. That said, the quality does come at a price. Not inexpensive but worth it as an occasional treat.

Art P

My friend went and got a few raw cookies and missing stuff..

Andrea Paolucci

Best cookies in the GTA! And the staff are friendly and courteous. You’ll never leave unsatisfied

Melissa Descoteaux

Closes at 5pm during the week! NOT 5:30. We walked over and it was already closed ????????

Nancy Gow

Chocolate chip cookie is rich and chocolatey and the soft serve ice cream is not too sweet.

E. Tamari

Tried a blueberry cheese Danish which was tasty if a bit mushy. However, the two stars were earned by sampling the "baguette". While the appearance and crust were as expected it was utterly, I mean utterly tasteless. Given the French name of this establishment I would have expected something at least resembling a traditional or classic baguette. This certainly did not qualify. Very disappointing.

Kristine Galvan

Walking down Lakeshore West in Etobicoke and did a triple take when I saw the classic stars and the display of pastries in the window.. LE GOURMAND in Etobicoke? Yup! With a walk-up window of yoire like me and was without a mask... all the bakery classics and warm drinks with happy service. The best cookies in Toronto. I’ve had the Levain NY cookies and this is it’s best competition. Added all the calories I lost on the walk but would highly recommend and will be taking more walks just to visit.

Div B

Purchased 4 cookies for around 18$ today. When you charge cookies by piece, how is this half cookie be charged 4.35? Unacceptable.

Neha Poduval

Best Danishes ever!! ❤️

Kelly Chan

Great cheese cake, and cookies are the best

Imaan Virani

Hands down the best chocolate chip cookies in toronto!

Meagan Larman

Best I’ve had in a long time!! Delicious croissants!!

Jason F

Rock hard cookies. Better off going to the Spadina location

Katherine K

Just because your cookies are good doesn’t mean your customer service can be atrocious. Came in for a pick up, asked 3 times to confirm I was being given the correct order was assured each time that yes it was the correct order. Got home and guess what? Not the right order. Had to drive back to pick up my order and the best part? Was ignored for 10 minutes (no one else in the shop) until finally asking if someone would hand me my order. Maybe take a page out of Starbucks and write the name of the person on the order once it’s packed. Or staple the receipt to the bag. Really not that difficult. Cookies are great 9/10 Customer service 3/10 Make sure you check the inside of your order right there on the spot before you leave.

Akhila Panicker

Their Danish pastries are ❤️❤️ A travel to Le Gourmand a day keeps my mind awake.

M. Pier

Lines are there because staff is making coffees and preparing Uber orders instead of helping clients in store.Make a coffee shop instead maybe. Or direct the work more efficiently because 3 staff were doing everything else but helping clients in store. I understand, but out of 3 put at least one to help clients in store. Nobody acknowledges you there. And even when helping, they do lack customer service skills, duh! they are not nice even! One star for delicious sweets though! I am rating the location which is bad, baked goods are good!

MIko

$8 soft serve ice cream. Taste like a milk and it's very expensive! The crew member is not helpful at all. I asked her about the pastries and she's too lazy to explain and said it's the same on what's above it doesn't even have a name. I will give it a 0 star!!!!

Amanda Rob

The cookies are delicious and the juice is amazing but the service is trash. There was no emotion or a simple "what can we help you with" no direction as to wear you can grab straws or napkins not even a have a nice day on the way out. Just tell you the amount and then silence. I asked if they had anything refresing for a hot day and she pointed to the fridge with your generic beverages (bottled water and bottles of juice) but failed to mention they offer fresh juice until I noticed it was behind the counter and had to point it out, although the watermelon juice was amazing! Such a shame as the other location is 5 star in both service and the quality of their food.

Dianna Hill

We placed a custom order and Sam, the General Manager, was amazing to work with. The order turned out better than we expected, our pastries were beyond delicious. Sam was even able to accommodate a last minute addition. Strongly recommended Le Grourmand, especially for custom orders!

Priya Almeida

Love their cookies and pastries - so rich, buttery, decadent, ooey-gooey, etc.! Subtracting one star only because they are on the more expensive side. Most items are in the $3.75 range, making them more of a once-in-a-while treat rather than a place I'd consider as my daily go-to.

Marc Bertrand

A welcome addition to the neighbourhood! Every pastry and lunch item I’ve tried is top-notch. Croissants are absolutely perfect and the best I’ve tried outside France.

Muhammad Hassan

When Le Gourmand Bakery says that their cookies are award winning, then you should believe it because their cookies were wonderful.

Daniel Everitt-Lock

The food here is amazing. Service is great. Cookies are worth every penny, best in Toronto! Highly recommend!

Kozi

Mmmm. Extremely decadent pastrys and tasty savoury snacks. I highly recommend stopping for a tasty lunch, or just a quick coffee and snack.

Alondra Pizarro

The service deserves a 0 star. The girl was way to lazy to even make sure that she was charging us the correct cakes. The croissants and cakes lack of taste, they aren’t bad but definitely overpriced bakery.

Fluffy Fontaine

I’m addicted to the rum almond croissants at this place and have thoroughly enjoy any other tasty treat I’ve tried from here. I’m not a chocolate chip cookie fan, but if you are, you’ll likely think you’ve died and gone to heaven when you eat one of theirs. They have savoury delights as well, though I haven’t tried any yet. I’m sure they’re just as delish as their sweets.

Susan Hoshowski

Was on my way to an appointment, but stopped in to have a look. While there were plenty of people behind the counter, not one of them acknowledged my presence. No 'can I help you?' or 'do you see something that tempts you?'. Sorry, but it seems more like a hang out for the staff, rather than a workplace. Won't be back.

Mariz Nashed

The chocolate chip cookie was huge! And tasted delicious!

Kashish Nagpal

Tried their cookies and they're really big, soft and great! Excited to try other items from the bakery!

Daniel Lauzon

$3.95 for a almond croissant with big chunk of almond past all in one place. not good at all. am returning it.

Silvana Klaric Boricic

In the era of Covid it is so nice to have a coffee shop with a window for take out orders. It helps you to avoid enclosed spaces and potential exposure to the coronavirus. Their coffee and croissants are absolutely delicious and their prices are mid way between the Tim Hortons and Starbucks. Sp, all of that deserves 5 stars. However, if they want to see me at their window again they should fix the following: They, too, should wear masks because they handle food and beverages, After accepting cash payment they should wash their hands before they deal with food, and beverage of the next customer, They should use tongues for the mug lids and mug sleeves and never touch them with their hands. In my opinion, they and everyone else in the industry should have done this even before the pandemic. Good hygienic practices save lives.

Ryan Alexander

Fantastic croissant and pain au chocolate. France style. Kouign-amann brought me back to Brittany as well. Will be coming back.

Michael Corey

So pleased that they joined the neighbourhood. Great fresh baked treats everyday And now Ice Cream!!

Z A

Love this place..great pastry, breakfast and coffee. I live about 20 mins away but im there every saturday morning.

Heidi Adia

We came to try their well known croissants however they were sold out for the day. The chocolate chip cookies were Amazing—- thick and appears decadent but not super sweet like you’d expect— would definitely buy again.

Christopher Gomes

The thickest , chewiest and most goo-i-est cookies you will ever eat! — **sugar high alert**

Well, what do I say about new “Le Gourmand” location? I have to say, as the brand new customer, was not overjoyed with poor customer service. In this industry it is detrimental to stand out with exceptional product and customer service to reflect the cost (ofcourse if you wish for the client to return). It was disappointing to see this bakery open at 9am when their competition (down the street) opens at 8am. I stayed and waited ONLY to try new place and I had time, otherwise I would definitely go someplace where earlier service was available. (I really do not wish to go into detail of how this should have been handled). Sometimes, we have to go over and above our line of duty to sustain the business especially at the time when you have to make a mark. When I finally was ALLOWED to come in I ordered my butter croissants and few “World Famous Chocolate and walnut cookies”. Packaging for cookies was great, however I cannot say the same for the croissants. Croissants are light and flaky therefore should not be piled on top of each other rather layered in a box. Products are slightly overpriced, but that is usually normal when you start a new business. I am always more than happy to pay more for great product... Croissants were well laminated, but over-proofed. It was also slightly under cooked. Taste was great though. Cookies were very tasty, had nice chewiness to them. I have noticed they are NOT consistent in size and amount of chocolate and walnuts for such big price ticket. In conclusion, I truly hope this bakery survives in this neighbourhood. If you have decided to charge bit more then bakeries that are exceptionally good then you need to up your game. Great product without good customer service is sometimes JUST NOT ENOUGH. I have given you 3 stars as I am planning to return couple more times and see if you will stay consistent to current service or will there be improvement. Will stars rise or fall? To be continued....

Cookies are good, just not at 4$ a piece. 4-star cookies. Who hired the two girls behind the counter? They have a 0-star personality! I would prefer to order from a vending machine. No smiles, blank stares when questioned. Seemed more interested in each other then the customer. Whoever trained them needs ALLOT of training themselves.

Harry Park

I don't know why some reviewers say that they got bad service. The service I got was warm and caring. Even though they were busy, they checked with the kitchen to find out food allergies. Cookies are indeed the best I've had in Toronto. Slightly crispy edges and a moist center. Amazingly, it also has some height to get a bit of a cakey feel. The Shibuya Chocolate Fudge Cake is incredibly dense and intensely chocolatey. Definitely worth the admission. The chocolate bomb has a mochi like outer layer with a nice gooey center. As good as it it, this was my least favorite and would try something else next time. Open a branch in Markham and I'll be there every week!

Freddy Enriquez

Absolutely delicious baked goods. Love their famous chocolate chip cookies. Plus, the staff are super friendly. Great spot!

stephen

You'd think at $4 per cookie they could afford the electricity to bake them. They'd be better off charging $5 and hiring someone to do quality control.

Julawan Emura

I had bought baguette ???? here almost every morning since the shop was opened because my kids love it. ( Fresh, cheap and delicious) We didn't buy this bread any more because the taste is different now. It doesn't taste like baguette. The taste is no different from I buy at supermarket. Disappointed ☹️ Cookies and Denish pastry are delicious but a little bit pricey for me. I buy once a week. Cheese cake is also good. Hot chocolate is not delicious at all. My kids didn't taste any chocolate or Cocoa...only lot of milk in it.

C R G

Cookies are worth it!

K T

Really nice staff. Delicious Pastries.

Allison Gough

The servers are fantastic and knowledgeable. I go in often for the chai latte or the flavoured iced teas. Lovely place and a great addition to the neighbourhood

Key Emura

What happened to your baguettes? I bought one 2 days ago and it felt and tasted old. Very different from when you just opened your shop. Your baguettes used to be like the originals in France, fresh and tasty. Nowadays they are worse than from the bargain bin at some Supermarket. It is very disappointing.

Shivam Ohri

Coffee was great, we went later in the day and understandably there weren't many eating/snacking options for us. I'd update my review once I get a chance to go during the day when items are fresher..

Margo Clarke

I'm not sure the the products warrant the prices. Prices are ridiculously high and others have posted disparaging photos of items that were short of expectations. Not sure that a place like this is appropriate for this neighbourhood when there's a lot of people who can't afford over $4 for one cookie. It might be better off in Yorkville where people have money to spend.

Katrine Weisz

What a great addition to the neighborhood! I come here often for their Lattes, and it's always hard to leave without being tempted into one of their famous cookies or their pastries which are all delicious. Everyone that works here is always so lovely and welcoming as well. It's one of my neighborhood favorites.

eddie trinidad

Good.. the bread. Good.. being local. Just meh.. the almond croissants:( the almond paste is a solid stick that never gets soft, it's odd eating and seeing a solid re-bar of almond. Gotta take a page from how Pain Perdu is doing it.

pb17nett

They have the best cookies, friendly and attentive staff, it is clean, and they have an outdoor pick up window. Love this place.

Paloma S

Best cookies ever!! The walnut chocolate chip is hands down one of the best cookies I've ever had. The chocolate is so gooey and delicious and it's perfectly paired with the walnuts to give it that soft nutty flavour. The texture is also perfection. If you're looking for cookies that taste like they're freshly baked right out of the oven then this is your place! Oh and fyi... These cookies are HUGE!

Maricel Mendoza

Delicious chili but not always available

Nicole Archambault

Meh been going to this location since it opened... I loved everything but the last few times I feel like my 6$ went down the drain lattes no longer have a creamy taste and the man made my latte wrong, not to mention all the coffee grinds at the bottom of my last iced latte.. now this place is to expensive for what they offer...

Adele D'Arcy

I fell for the window display a couple of times, but did not need to debate the existence of pastries I could clearly see. Maybe someone should check the signage? Seriously. This happened to me twice, a few weeks apart. And just for kicks, on my second (and definitely final) visit, as soon as I said "no thanks" to heating it up, it was thrown in the microwave (bag and all). I just wanted to buy a pastry. There are a lot of other coffee shops and bakeries in this area where you can actually do this. Skip the games here and check them out!

Agata Leszko

Ohh it's really a good find. Will def be back. Delicious cappuccino and danishes and choco cookies. Owner was so kind too. Thanks for perfect Monday AM cafe stop.

Roman

Great coffee and pastries! Highly recommend!????

Colette Loren

Le Gourmand has by far the best chocolate chip cookie ever, and I’ve had a lot of cookies. Though they may be a tad pricy, it’s worth every cent. The cookies are so buttery, bursting with flavour and luxurious melted chocolate. While the Spadina location does have a much better atmosphere, I’d say the quality of their products is the same regardless of location. If you’re ever in the area, I’d highly recommend stopping in, and make sure you don’t leave until you buy one of their famous cookies!

A. Me.

Amazing local spot with delicious croissants and coffee. The earl grey tea and london fog are so smooth! Of course, the star of the show is the chocolate chip cookie. They have THE BEST COOKIES.

H Peters

Amazing place!! I have been going there almost every other day for their cookies...

Darren Barrett

The best coffee and cookies in town.

Chris Hollinrake

Best croissants, pastries and to die for chocolate chip cookies in the city. Highly recommended and get there early for regular croissants.

Simon Wu

Delicious cookies but it's a real treat because they are quite expensive at almost $3.75 each. Of all the gourmet cookies, I really like these as they were simple and not overly sweet.

Samir Siddiqui

New location of beloved French bakery. I'm glad we won't have to drive to the Spadina location, where parking can be a challenge. Cookies were fantastic and service was great.

Dave

Chocolate bomb was delicious! And other baked items on display looked very fresh and amazingly tasty! However , Coffee (cortado) I ordered could have been better. Not to say the barista didn't do a great job in its preparation and presentation. The effort was definitely was there, but there are just several blocks on the Lake Shore with much better options for a better tasting espresso drink. Though still rating it a 5 on the taste of the Chocolate bomb alone, and other baked items on display. Staff were also very welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to going back to try something else!

John Trovato

Went to try as I read so many good reviews, but what a disappointment. First of all with customer service, extremely rude. In this times of the pandemic, we all need that little nice and welcoming feeling, especially when planning on spending a lot of $$ on overpriced treats. Next, the World famous cookies, sorry, but that marketing strategy is old. And the cookies, thinking of the price, the taste should be superb, at least. They are overly sweet, I couldn't even finish it. The croissants are pretty mediocre. Was also looking forward to try the cheesecake, which I couldn't eat as it is too sweet. The overall experience is VERY disappointing. Def not worth the price. Not sure if I'll be back.

Christoph Buchmann

5 stars! Finally a bakery that takes me back to France! Delicious croissants and many other great options!

Kelly Jargon

“I’m disappointed that I am making a less than positive review on a local spot. I’m very pro “shop local” and decided to try the Le Gourmand bakery that I’ve been reading about. Well, I will occasionally spend money on nice treats, but after spending $60 (including tip) on a box of baked goods only to get home and find four missing, and cookies that were literally raw in centers… I will never return. Ever. Very disappointed.”

Issa G.

The food is always tasty but the drinks are watered down :( tried the honey chai latte , nutella hot chocolate and regular chai. Not very good .

Jeremy Kroetsch

This is our weekly haunt for early morning Saturday breakfast. I heard about it from my girlfriend and it has not disappointed. Our favourite treat is the apricot danish. Definitely check it out! Careful of the line!

Lour Younes

Ordered cheese mushroom danish for 3.75 and she charged me 4.25 for chicken pie when I asked if they were the same price the lied to me and refuse to make up for the difference. Its not about 50c an apology and a free cookie would've gone a long way.

Jessika Grand Bois

The best croissant I’ve found in Toronto, and I love that they’re open on Lakeshore which is closer to me. Love the famous chocolate chip cookie too.

Sharon Landis

The staff are rude. I asked if I could order a sandwich and the person behind the counter demanded that I confirm I was there to pick up someone elses order. When she finally understood that I wasn't here for THAT order, another clerk barked at me that they were waiting for an order to be picked up. My order was taken and as she handed it to me continued to bark at me.

Scott Pinkney

Yummy avocado sandwich! Great service and friendly staff!

Rendy Eucebio

Great baked goods 5 stars but not so good customer service. "Good morning "and "Have a good day " / "Thank you for your purchase " goes a long way...

Drew Sider

Stopped by and bought some croissants, chocolate chip cookies and brewed coffee. The coffee was fine. (They said that they were still waiting to get their espresso machine.) The croissant was very good - Flaky on the outside, but soft inside. The cookie, on the other hand, was one of the best I've ever had in my life. Just a bit crispy to bite into, but then just melted away in my mouth. Absolutely delicious! I'll be back again to try a sandwich. First impressions were very good and looks like they will be a great addition to the neighbourhood.

Jessica Ebejer

Just like they say… The best cookies in the world! The staff is amazing and super helpful! Everything is so delicious! Teo is the best!! Thanks for everything you do!

Jo-Anne Webster

My iced coffee was made just the way I like it. The vegetarian sandwich was amazing and the service was excellent. I just love this bakery.

Adnaan Bhyat

Chocolate chip cookie is probably one of the best in the city, get it right out of the oven and don't forget a napkin.

Michael Torn

Awesome cookies!

Cristian Preda

Delicious items including croissants (the Guava and Brie one is excellent) and cookies. The highlight was this Basque cake for which I will keep coming back for!

Dayna

Best chocolate chip cookie I’ve had and the chocolate soufflé is a must try.

Lisa S

Just great, cookies are awesome

Rose LaBreche

As someone with an intense sweet tooth, who has eaten baked goods at so many places, the cookies (chocolate chip!) and croissants (chocolatine) here are worth trying. Crispy outsides but soft, buttery insides. The perfect sweet-salty ratio.

chloe sogon

Delicious pastries! Taste pretty similar to the real deal in France. Great flavours and textures. Service is great:) The girls are kind and love their enthusiasm for their doggie visitors. It is expensive though, which is sad but helps me not buy TOO many pastries
