Monica Lindsay

Bright, and cheerful with a true West Coast outdoors vibe. Some of the very best baking and coffee. Perfect place to stop off during a ride along the bike trail!

Tanner “Lightning” Dermann

Cookie was good. Could've been less hard / salty, but good.

Dorian Banks

Majda E.

Nice selection of pastries but very expensive! The coffee was undrinkable because of how sour/acidic it tasted! :(

Mimi W

It's clear this place knows what it's doing; after all, it's not every day I find a bakery selling kouign amann! Perhaps it wasn't the best example, but still a great spot with flaky, buttery pastries. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"

Shawn Snobelen

Excellent pastries, more excellent coffee, most excellent people running it.

Kyle Pinner

Great little place.

Marz B

Amazing products and they actually know what's in the products, alot bakeries in Victoria don't. with my allergies it's safe so it's the only place I go for pastry.

Chris N.

Friendly place and nice staff. Impressive variety on display when you walk in. Bread and baked goods are good - as in okay. Not as good as True Grain. Had a latte in the Agrius portion of the shop - no soy here so had to settle for almond. I didn't care for it, kind of bitter without the fullness of flavor one expects from a well brewed espresso. There are better cuppas out there.

Marcus Magdalena

The owner is epic. The bakers too. Literally. You simply cannot go wrong with Fol Epi.

during my stay in Victoria, I've wanted some good bread. it was delicious. and the prices are fair.

K L.

The best baguettes in Victoria will be found here. Their breads are likewise, wonderful. I particularly like their Boule breads and their Vancouver Island loaf. I haven't had the pastries yet. The breads are baked in a wood fire (yum!) & made from flours that they mill themselves. The owner-designed, beautiful stone mill, is well worth viewing, at their other location. When they make it, their raspberry jam is delicious! I hope that they will bring it back.

In the summer '16 I found this lovely place & fell in love with their homemade almond milk. My other half really enjoyed the earl grey tea latte as well so I bought some of the loose leaf. ☕️ I also really enjoy the seasonal salads & baguette sandwiches!! The ham & cheese sandwich Is also delicious. Especially if you have a grilled cheese craving. Mmmm nice & greasy!

Clare Pederson

Amazing bread, pastries, and pizza.

Megan

The only place I know that makes kouign amann. And they are life-changing. (I lied. I know one other place, which is their new shop on Yates!)

Sarah Brabant (ASSB)

Best baguette in town! Love their bread!

Farrukh Mirza

Great bakery and we just had an awesome dinner here too. Reasonable prices and excellent service.

Nicole P

We took a trip over from the mainland to the island and had heard good things about this Bakery. There's about 10 of us that popped in to check it out. The service that we reviewed was exceptional and was great with everyone we chatted with. We bought a few different things to try and oh my goodness they were delicious. We tried the Chocolate cakes, Black Forest cakes, cinnamon buns and a few others. I would highly recommend trying this Bakery. We're still definitely be home back again when we're on the island. I highly recommend trying this cafe and bakery.

Mary Davies

WAS 5 stars but I had to go lower due to them removing the option to buy butter on the side of a baguette. Such a simple thing, why remove it? I've raved about the baguettes here for years and brought friends and family many times. I've ate way too many baguettes to count and they were all worth every calorie ... WITH butter. I have always enjoyed our morning coffee and baguette here and will miss it, really wish they'd continue to offer this simple side that they happily charged for and customers happily paid for for so many years. It makes no sense to me why this decision was made. If it's too difficult to do maybe just provide those little butter packets like every other cafe on the planet has? It seems such a small easy thing to do to help customers enjoy their experience.

One of the most overrated places in Victoria. It is good, but not justified by the prices. $4 for a baguette.

Grace Hsieh

Great coffee and delicious bakeries. The price is on the higher end but the quality is real. The only downside for me is there are no alternatives for the people who are lactose intolerant. Would be lovely if they had soy milk. The server was not the kindest but extremely efficient!

Absolutely amazing. They make everything in house! I highly recommend the ice cream if it's still available. Best soft serve Ive ever had! The bakery is next level and Agrius the restaurant next door is full of passionate people who will bring you an unforgettable experience. The owner is great and all in all one of my favorite spots in town.

Alyssa Crowder

Very tasty treats. Very expensive.

Olga Yakovlenko

We were really excited to visit the place on our recent trip to Victoria. At first, you get the impression of an abundant selection of pastries and baked goods. However, upon closer look, nothing was really calling our names. We ended up getting ham & cheese and almond croissants, kouign amann and a slice of mushroom quiche. The quiche and the ham croissant were pretty basic but still good. We found that the texture of the kouign amann wasn’t quite right: it was too dense inside and there weren’t many layers after all. Almond croissant was reeking with the almond essence as it had been soaked in it. We did like the location though. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the outside area.

Nigel Horspool

Sitting outside in the sun, drinking an excellent coffee and eating the best croissants in Victoria is an experience not to be missed.

Janice V [she]

This bakery makes high quality breads and pastries with care the care and passion of a mother for her family. The staff are friendly amd knowledgeable. Not a place for new vegans as the pastries are mostly butter filled and so seductive and difficult to resist. And if you don't have to for health reasons, don't! Excited that they sell fresh milled organic canadian wheat and spelt flour too. Located next to cafe fantastico where really good foamy lattes are born and accessible by foot and bicycles, this gem is abdestination spot for every visit to Victoria.

Braden Whitley

Amazing breakfast sandwich and caramel pastry. Friendly girl working the counter. Nice little outdoor seating area.

Timbo Alogo

David Yelligadu

Fresh breakfast and lunch items. Drip coffee was pretty good. I had the guiere and ham quiche and it was delicious. Flakey crust with a bottom layer of sweet caramelized onion and on top was the guiere and ham filling. They also warm it up upon request (which I'd recommend someone doing). Fairly large siting area with iniside seating, covered patio seating and open patio seating available. Check this spot out, ideally located in downtown Victoria.

I have noticed that since you have now switched to using disposable plastic containers instead of the brown paper bags, your granola doesn't taste fresh. It tastes too much like plastic.

Nice French baked goods and pastries. It's a welcome change for people tired of going to Starbucks.

Rick James

Baked goods from a wood oven. I like it!

Colin Stuart

Great experience, food, drinks, and staff. Highly recommended.

ChrisDonna Saffel

Excellent food! Superb customer service!! Will be back for sure!

A local chef recommended Fol Epi for birthday sweet treats, so that’s all the advice I needed. Also: their sister cafe, Agrius, next door is fantastic for eat-in or takeaway sandwiches on fresh, wood-fired artisanal bread.

Chen Tian

Amazing place. The food taste as good as they looked!! Friendly service, Everything is very fresh and tasty, Great for summer night. From the outside we thought it’s a very expensive restaurant and The taste and ingredients are high end restaurants level, but the price and portion is actually very fair. Definitely will come back again! And recommend anyone who is looking for place to have dinner.

Liana Williams

Fantastic food, but a small space! Be prepared with your order and ready to snatch any open seat

Gordon Kehoe

9:00 am starving and need food. I got the brisket and pickled veggie sandwich. It is the best thing I've tasted in a long time. So good that at lunch I get another. Still just as good. I also grabbed a veggie sandwich and some kombucha. Wow am I impressed. I work right across the street at Studio 4 and let me tell you that's where I'm going when I need a delicious meal. Thank you for your speedy service too! Much appreciated for a busy guy in a time crunch.

DavidnRuth Marshall

Good bread

Cynthia Diadick Tanner

Pastries look better than they taste--very pricey for the quality. I have eaten here three times and the pastry is over cooked, dry and looks much better than it tastes. And the prices are much too high for the quality and portion size. Save yourself some money and go to CRUST on Fort Street where there is a much larger selection, staff are helpful and cheerful even when the line up is OUT the door. And I do know something about food as my sister is a Cordon Bleu London trained chef and I have had the pleasure of eating her pastries and food for over twenty years. Sorry but these folks don't live up to the hype.

ACCESSIBILITY: Interlocking brick pathway with level entrance and single pull door. Bathrooms are accessible as well. The space is a little tight. STAFF: Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the products available. FOOD: They sell their own flour ground onsite and it is excellent quality. The baled goods are excellent.

David Worrell

Nice place. Ask for the full menu — lots more than is on the board.

Just downright the best! Breakfast is phenominal, and a sandwich to go, or pastry is always in the books. Brunch is the best in the city rivalled by maybe two. Lunch is great for grabbing a sandwich and running, or a pastry to go. Dinner will leave you leaning back in your seat, and your mouth longing for more of their bread.

Clemens Rettich

darrell pfeifer

Fine place for a coffee and a Danish

Johnny Park

Great service, but coffee is too dark and dessert is too 'dairy' for me.

Lara E

Delicious and decadent! I go here every time I need a special treat. The eclairs are my favourite and it's an added bonus that I can zip through the door over to Fantasticos to grab a coffee while I'm there. Great location, good service, beautiful view and right near the bike trail.

Antoine Blais

Damian Herman

The coffee isn't great and the pastries are very overpriced for what you get. Very poor selection here too.

Honestly, might be one of the best bakeries I have ever eaten at - everything is so fresh and just phenomenal ...havent tried anything there that I havent enjoyed !

Toni He

A very cute organic bakery café which delicious baked goods and breads.

GD Buller

Sonja Reid

Best bread in the city (I basically refuse to buy bread anywhere else), amazing pastries and the best gelatos and sorbets I have tasted outside of Europe. Added to that, the staff are *always* friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and their prices are exceptionally good when you consider the very high quality.

A M

I needed an organic nut-free birthday non-cake. Fol Epi was super accommodating & made an almond free crust lemon tart. It was the perfect lemon zing & not too sweet. Quite a hit at the office.

Katie McGroarty

Expensive, but easily the best sausage roll I've ever had. They definitely put care into the baking of their products, and although they don't have a huge selection what they do have is excellent. Expect to have a hard time finding much under $5, but it's a great place for a snack. Wasn't overly impressed by their sandwiches, which I thought were not worth the price.

Warren Poon

Kit Armstrong

The prices were already high and since reopening you have upped them maybe about 25%. There are far cheaper places to go in town for baking that is just as good.

Karin Hamann

Great

Lee Chiarizia

Pricey, but worth it. Extremely delicious pastries with a great co-located coffee shop in Café Fantastico.

Imogene Huxham

Fantastic Bakery. Excellent bread!

Bill Nowell

Very tasty sandwich and excellent quiche. Lots of locals getting coffee so that must be good as well. Easy access from the bike path and adjacent to the Trek bike rental outlet.

Erika Evans

The sandwich was perfect, eclaires, gelato, bread, retail organic flour milled by them, coffee, etc- all superb quality!

Brenda Quinn

Amazing baked treats you may know and their famous baguette BUT their house- made charcuterie is great for take home hosting and if you're really ambitious they sell their sumptuous grind of whole grain flour!

James Munro

Good pastry, the place stinks. We had to wash all our clothes after a sitting inside for Sunday morning coffee and pastries. Seems their exhaust does not work.

Cristina Petersen

Got some to go lattes and peanut butter cookies today. They did a great job setting it up for social distancing. It was my first coffee outside of home in about a month and boy was it GOOD! Thanks guys for playing it safe and for delicious treats!

Louie Parker

Cute place for sandwiches and stuff. Loved it.

Kelly Trirogoff

Hands down the best bakery on the planet!! I've been bringing my kids since it opened years ago. It is a Victoria tradition now

Troy Grant

Great food, incredible views and super staff made my experience here a five star lunch. Thanks FoL Epi!

Bada Lee

Well all bread was good. But I don’t know why I have to pay ‘take away service tips’ in this must take away occasion? It doesn’t make sense :(

Dom Lebel

Phenomenal pastries and baked goods, great service and they have a really great "patio" area outside now. Not sure if it'll stay the same way once covid rules relax, but a portion of it is covered so you can enjoy a nice cup of Java and a snack or meal even if it is raining. Bathroom and indoor dining were open. I have yet to have anything from Fol Epi that wasn't absolutely delicious.

Simon P

Baked goods are decent, but prices are very high compared to the quality. Location is great though, but the new patio signs don't make it very welcoming.

Janice Mansfield

Fol Epi is the best bakery in town. Cliff Leir runs a boulangerie-style bakery in Dockside Green, complete with a wood-fired brick oven, a grain-silo out back, and an Austrian style grain mill grinding flour. The loaves produced at Fol Epi are rustic, levain style loaves, with only wild yeast as the leavening. Don't let the rustic loaves fool you though, They also make the best croissants and Parisian macarons in town! all naturally flavoured and coloured. At lunchtime, you can order pizzas cooked in the bread oven (usually 2-3 to choose from), or pick up a sandwich on baguette, to enjoy with a cappucino from Cafe Fantastico next door. (TIP: Fol Epi also sells the flour they mill! Rye, Red Fife whole grain, and sifted)

Stephen DUSTY Roberts

Always amazing Baguette sandwiches. The only reason for less then 5 stars is that they run out of sandwiches too early.

This place has always been my favorite place to go, and so far it is the only place that make food that doesn't upset my stomach. Right now, they are offering Pumpkin Pie. The filling is well balanced and smooth, and crust is fantastic. Take it with a nice cup of coffee.

Jorge Francisco Gomes

Great coffee. Nicely presented baked goods and just a nice overall vibe.

Grady Harris

Some of the best coffee in Victoria and certainly the best baguette. Get there early as they sell out of baguettes fairly early every day.

Tanya Castañeda

Absolutely love the sandwiches and treats you can get here! All made fresh and the views are beuatiful!

Nila Shah

Great coffee and one of the best croissants in Victoria. Actually, all the pastries are yum! And so are the breads! Take a break with your pooch on one of the outdoor tables on a sunny day. A tiny gem! For a little more elaborate meal, visit Fantastico cafe and deli next door.

Jennifer Lynn

Pricy but worth it! A variety of delicious pastries, cookies, sandwiches, bread, quiches, and much more. Coffee, teas, and usual are on the menu. Lots of patio seating and indoor seating compared to many bakeries in the area. As they pay thier staff a living wage, the menu prices are higher than elsewhere. Tried: Fig Danish, Palmier, and London Fog Ham & Gruyere Quiche

Christopher Maier

David Ferreira

Got one of the charcuterie boxes yesterday which was extremely good value and quality! They didn't have enough bread left over as it was late in the day so they made one up with what they had and altered the price - was delicious! Also had the soft serve which was really good.

Ewan Speirs

Apple and rosemary sausage rolls.... amazeballs

Hayley N

Nice place to stop while cycling. They have daily specials for many of their menu items, so you can always get something different.

Bread, Danish, Macaron, and yummy sandwiches. You can grab a coffee and sit outside or there is a small inside space for rainy days. (at the Vic West location) friendly staff as well.

My favorite coffee spot to finish a bike ride with. Right at the end of the Galloping Goose, interesting harbor view, great coffee. Busy, but worth it.

Wow. We’d read about how amazing this place is so we thought we’d try some pastries/muffins. $30 later and the GREASIEST pastries/baked goods I’ve ever had. Both of us felt ill the next day. What a disaster.

Undoubtedly my favourite pastries and bread in town, absolutely phenomenal staff and a gorgeous interior to the shop makes for a welcoming and delightful experience.

Cyrus F.

Just recently returned from Paris where the pastries are devine if not a little expensive with the exchange. Fol Epi charges Paris prices for so-so pastries. Find the quality better at Crust.

Israel Wong

One of the best pastry and brats around town but they're a little bit expensive.

I love the croissants at Fol Epi. I stop in for them every time I'm in Victoria.

Pricey, but delicious sandwiches. Great place to stop along the galloping goose trail.

Geoff Rice

Stopped in for a lunch sandwich and a boule (sourdough loaf). The roast beef sandwich had a wonderful flavour mix and was very fresh. A bit pricey for the size. The boule was a hard crusted, chewy interior loaf. Great smothered with butter.

Eric L

This place has delicious food/pastry’s, highly recommend Fol Epi!!!

A new and busy organic bakery-cafe on Yates with lots going for it. The cafe` itself is somewhat small, with seating at the front windows and along one wall, plus a few tables outside in the square with a fountain - it's sometimes too windy for umbrellas, so bring your sunglasses if sitting out. Same goes for sitting at the windows on a sunny day: they face south, so be prepared to be hot while you people-watch. At the main counter, you're greeted with a large wraparound-glass display showing off all the goodies for sale that day. Sandwiches are on house-made organic bread and simply beg for you to buy one to try as they sit on display. The good news: they taste even better than they look! The same goes for the pastries, again made with fresh organic ingredients: the few I have tried so far have been some of the freshest I've ever had. The menu overall is pricier than you might expect, but the quality and freshness of the foods here balance things out. I'm someone who leans towards the cheap, but I'm going to make semi-regular trips here just to give my tastebuds a treat so they never forget what great food tastes like. I did knock off a star for the prices, but that's just my wallet talking. In general, I like Fol Epi quite a lot; it has a new, happy vibe to it, where the staff are enthusiastic about what they're making and serving. This is the perfect place to stop and refresh yourself in a day for a few minutes, taking in the pleasant bustle and just enjoying how good everything you order really is.

Desmond Brisbin

Best staff in town! All the breads are made with wholesome and healthy ingredients. Good coffee, and great bakery for all their fresh daily snacks like macarons. Very pleasant atmosphere with big bright windows.

(Translated) The price of this shop's bread is generally high. I bought a croissant. Although it is small, the scent of butter is faint. It may be better not to compare with Japanese French bakery. The skin was crispy, but the layer was thin. Other breads may be delicious, but there are no repeats. I don't think Victoria has a delicious French pastry shop.

Quite disappointed by the customer service. Person at the front was rude all the way, plus broke the ice cream cone and did not offer to replace it. Ice cream was ok.

Tahira Penman

The whole place and everything in it looks pretty but the service is average and it’s all overpriced. Not worth it

Chris Litton

Nice selection of baked goods. Beautiful setting especially on a glorious sunny day. Highly recommended for light brunch or coffee in the middle of a walk along the gorge and downtown.

Francois Viquesnel

too expensive for the quality it provides - no crips in the pain of chocolat. The baguette is far from a French one. The white bread is OK but no slicing machine? Maybe because it doesn't fit with the standard they want to be up to ? The cakes are good - I'm happy to see St Honoré. But I still prefer Murchie's.

Derek Perkins

OMG. The Palmier is melt in your mouth good!

Carly W

Amazing selection of pastries. The flourless chocolate cookies are very rich and tasty. The palmiers are a must try! The service was very slow considering we were the only people in line.

Whitney Gardner

Fol Epi is my favorite bakery in Victoria. From their delectable sandwiches, to their sumptuous macarons, each good they make is perfectly baked. Having traveled to Paris a year ago, I can honestly say that their croissants and macarons stand next to Parisian quality.

B K

Love their baking and sandwiches!

Cuong Le

Great coffee. Great desserts.

Ryan

Just go here. Buy a coffee at the least. You'll love it.

Food is out of this world! The people working always look like they are part of an American Gothic painting, which I find hilarious, but it is rather off-putting.

Emma Barker Sharp

Delicious pastries and bread. A tad expensive but it is certainly worth paying for.

Vishal Kumar

Great coffee and morning bites

Todd Morgan

Very very good food and awesome service.

Chris Cook

It will ruin you for baguette, forever...

Christopher Trudeau

The food here is fantastic. The breakfast sandwich was worth the visit alone. Their selection of pickled veggies is great. Can't wait to visit Victoria again to visit here. Their pastries are also top notch. The chocolate almond croissant is to die for.

Cesar Iglesias

Neat space with chill music, good coffee and delicious pastries. It was recommended to us by a breakfast place we went to whole visiting the city. I’m happy we tried it.

denny boitchenko

Not the best coffee, pastry is fantastic but be prepared to pay a little more than the usual specialty bakery.

The in-house cashew milk is so good! That’s why I love getting my coffee here.

Regis Denefle

Seems genuine but no real bread choices at 8am on a week day (it apparently arrives later), and they close at 5pm. Tried the Kouing Aman pastry, while it is good, it definitely is not the real thing, but to be fair it is hard to find in Brittany too!

I loved this place, because it has bakery, coffee shop and Cafe Fantastico, so after when we finished our sandwiches, we were 100% sure we had to try pastry, so we got 3 different kinds and they were all amazing. Lots of people said it is little pricey, but in my opinion is worth it, because you getting natural, handmade products.

Nice little place. Staff was friendly and they made the most small space due to covid. Didn't feel cramped. The baked good was amazing. Nice and flakey and delicious.

Bartosz Scheller

The bread is truly amazing. Really great and helpful staff as well.

Keivan Monfared

The food is alright, the service is ok. People are friendly. The place definitely isn't set up for brunch though. Portions are small, you have to ask for sugar, cream, salt, pepper etc and the menu is very limited. However they're creative with some of their recipes.

Delicious sandwiches made from authentic Italian ingredients. Great place to pick up a picnic lunch.

Robbie .Neal

My sister and I came in for lunch and was blown away by the food. The service PROFESSIONAL Sonja was great. She was very knowledgable about everything and I loved her suggestion for the Roast Beef and Aged Cheddar. Great experience.

Jeff Somerville

Tasty but expensive.

Excellent breads !! Savory pastries !! It's expensive but the quality is there.

We are blessed ssed to have such wizards working on such delicious things here in our city. Everything is exceptional. Pricey, but I don't know how you could do it any other way and have such level of detail and clear passion for what they do. Truly excellent. My favs: Almond slice Roast beef sandwich Canale Coissants (all)

This place has high quality coffee and baking goods, but the service is horrible. It is understaffed and the limited number of staff are in training. Just buying a piece of cake to take out took 10min from the moment I pay for the cake.

Tabi No-Ko

I wasn't overly impressed and it was expensive

Misty C. (artvoyage)

It is a must-try place when you’re in Victoria. We loved their pastries and sandwiches. I wished we had more time so that we can try everything in the shop. When we went there in last November, panettone was ready in the shop and it was one of the best panettone I’ve ever had. Highly recommended. I miss this place already!

Rob Walker

Noel O'Brien

Delicious, freshly baked treats, artisan sandwiches, pizza, and, during the summer months, bbq. I especially enjoy their hot cross buns around Easter, easily the best I've had in Victoria

Virginia Anastassova

I used to love Fol Epi back in the day when they had their old pastry chef. Since they opened the new location the quality has gone way down. But what was really disappointing was their V day chocolates. They used to make great chocolates. This year they only had one kind at the Dockside Green location. And the filling inside tested like the filling in their chocolate cake. For $3 a chocolate they could have done a better job. Very disappointing. I rarely buy bread and pastries there anymore. Their are other great bakeries in Victoria.

Bill Smithwick

Best of the very best... Too many things to recommend. Get it all...

Everything I have had here is amazing. The sandwiches, the ice cream, the pastries. They are all so good. Every time I go there I over eat.

Great place for tea coffee and more. Fantastic bread. Staff grumpy a bit!

Amber Holdsworth

Cindy Ignacz

Nice selection of teas

Robin van G

The neighbouring space has been sort of overtaken by Caffe Fantastico and it doesn't look like a friendly takeover, F.E. serves coffee from someone else. C.F serves bread from another bakery. The Fol Epi breads are delicious and I love that they support and use local and heritage grain farmers.

Ryong

Good and fresh chocolate croissant , I like it:)

Jessamine Thornbury

Graham Elger

Have never been disappointed coming here

Dottie Smith

The baked goods here are to die for. Slightly over priced, if it were to be my only complaint, but fresh and delicious. I'm not a big enough coffee connoisseur to say whether the coffee here is the best or not, but I do enjoy it when I have it :)

Corben Laidler

One of the best spots in town. Don't tell the cruise ships.

Tammy Garrett

Hello to the best bakery in the world! Loved it. We had an air b n b above the bakery and there’s nothing like the breeze through the patio doors smelling like croissants baking all night! I would make my husband go get breakfast every morning! Fresh Tomato and Egg sandwich and an almond croissant with a Africano Coffee!! Far better than Americanos! Definitely try this place. You won’t regret it!

Eric To

Very good. Their desserts Is bit crazy sweet, it has the right balance which allows you to taste a lot more flavor in the dessert. Wish they open one in Montreal.

The most amazing bakery in the whole world. Well, at least all of Victoria.

Marie-Ève Gagné

If you are a local, you must already know Fol Epi from their Dockside location; it’s one of the best bakery in town! If you are visiting, you found the right place to indulge in tasty treats! Macarons, croissants, pastries, tarts, sausage rolls, sandwiches, all look delicious and taste as good! Enjoy with a coffee beverage brewed with beans from local toaster Bows & Arrows.

Michelle Brandel

I'm so happy to have discovered this amazing little bakery while visiting Victoria. The treats were absolutely amazing.

The most amazing baguettes of life. Also excellent selection of macaroons, pastries, and bread. In the summer be sure to stop in for their soft serve ice cream!

The place to go for a treat. Expensive but the quality is there.

Gary Crawford

Had lunch at this little out of the way spot today and it was awesome. I enjoyed a house made brisket and red cabbage sauerkraut sandwich with a homemade grainy mustard served on ciabatta bread. The brisket was thinly sliced and the mustard and sauerkraut were perfect compliments. The bread was fresh and crisp. This bakery is meticulous in its detail, and the decor makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time looking at the natural rock and red brick which forms part of the bread oven. Old school French charm and flavour abound. I highly recommend. They didn't offer much in the way of beverages other than coffee or tap water but their baked goods are to-die-for so they can be forgiven for the lack of cold drinks. Give them a try, if you enjoy French bakeries, you won't be disappointed.

Keith Chan

I miss their kimchi sandwiches and pizza. So good!

Witold Jack Wiercinski

Violet Stone

Too many choices, not enough money and time..even if I come back here thrice or more. Very thrilling to try new things each time

Rude host.

Christian Flanagan

Top notch bakery. Delicious.

Beatrice Toner

Victoria has no shortage of bakeries, but Fol Épi stands out for its French patisseries. Délicieux!

Samantha Liang

One of my coffee and bakery shops in Victoria! It's incredibly warm and cosy feeling when you are able to sit in and enjoy but right now it's take out only. The breads, pastries and treats are all fantastic! I haven't found anything I don't like yet and they really try to play with different flavor profiles that I don't see as often in other bakeries. Their outdoor patio is heated and covered right now so you can sit there to enjoy your coffee and treats but it's so just really convenient to pick up and go.

Mike Kennedy

Fol Epi offers top-grade java AND supplies for your home brewing needs. It's also located within a terrific market-type open area that includes a bakery, a high-end meat seller, and a bike shop. Adjacent to the Gorge part of the Galloping Goose trail system, one stop at Fol Epi means you're set for the day!

Delicious patisserie with a little flair of Paris..

Blaine Sewell

Took a very long time to get a cappuccino, not sure why I had to wait over 10 minutes as the place was not very busy. Also, the prices here have gone up significantly since the last time I came here, which was admittedly over a year ago. The price of the goods is no longer worth it in my opinion. Staff was friendly and polite, place is nice with a great little patio, but I can't justify the price or the 10 minute wait for a drink and will not be going back.

Robert Kent DesRochers

Good but very expensive

Kiffer Card

The pastries are absolutely wonderful. Nice sandwhiches too. We come here again and again for great treats. They're right on the bike path, stop and try.

Jimmy Thomson

Best bakery I've found in town. And right on the bike path! Great croissants.

Allon Beck

Best overall bakery in town. Lovely breads, wonderful pastries! The sandwiches at lunch are outstanding (try the ham and kimchi). Excellent!

Always amazing customer service, even when they're swamped. Even tastier food.

Eric Comtois

I love their delicious sandwich. They make with good quality ingredients.

Libby Park Herman

We went to both locations on a trip to Victoria. Believe the hype, the food there is so good! The breads are exquisite, and their creative use of condiments in their sandwiches are delicious. Both locations have outdoor seating. The sourdough is beyond words.

True Central

Great looking charcuterie and decent coffee, but when I ordered one of their pre-made sandwiches, I was disappointed to find that the edges of the rye bread were as hard as a rock. It had obviously been sitting there for some time. Make some fresh ones, guys. Feed the stale stuff to the pigeons, not the patrons. Don't sell people the last chicken in the shop - it'll come back to haunt you. I can't recommend this place.

Great outside patio with protection from the wind and sun. Amazing bread and pastries, plus you can also pick up some nice salami, liver pate. In the summer they make the most amazing fresh fruit sorbet. Staff are fairly paid and usually very little turnover of staff. A real Victoria gem.

Allan Chen

Jacob Lewis

Delicious coffee and super yummy pastries. Cool vibe as well. Give it a try for sure!

Alexandr Moroz

Surprisingly unimpressive selection of pastries leaves almost no interesting breakfast options. The quiche was quite appetizing and satisfying. Both ham & cheese and almond croissants were had poor texture and bland taste. To aggravate the situation, the almond croissant was flavoured with an immense amount of almond essence, making the the taste artificial and rather unpleasant. The kouign-amann was dense and overly sweet. A big disappointment, overall.

Lynne Armstrong

Wonderful baked breads and other goodies...the oven is beautiful

Christopher Kennedy

Great pastries. Coffee is good when fresh. Last time there the coffee was just warm at best.

Darrell Nicholson

Delicious bakery cafe. Nice bright patio. Noisette is delicious

Steven Shearer

This is a favorite place we go to each time we visit Victoria. The food is wonderfully prepared & plated, and the desserts are delicious !

Just discovered Fol Epi as one of the not-so-common cafes open early enough on Sunday morning for the early-riser. Beautiful flaky croissants, perfectly honed baguettes and gorgeous if a tad pricey brioches. Coffee at the adjoining cafe is also excellent.

the food sandwiches and pastries are incredible - quality is in a league of its own, so superior to anything in the entire region, that the restaurant portion got the only 4 star rating from globe & mail review. be wary of people complaining about portion sizes, they should be looking elsewhere. we've eaten at the pastry shop and restaurant several times. i'm the former co-designer for noma in copenhagen

grubgun

The lemon tart was perfect and the pumpkin scone was the best pumpkin anything I’ve ever eaten. What a beautiful place.

Irene Allen

I'm so pleased that Fol Epi is open again post-covid! They have all their usual delicious breads, sandwiches, pastries, plus lunchtime pizza in summer. Great social distancing setup and no touch payment. No more tipping, as they have raised worker salaries and baked that into the prices (this also means no buttons to push on the payment machine). I'm happy to support our local economy!

Adam Kanczula

Fantastic bread and baked goods plus very tasty and reasonably priced sandwiches, small pizzas etc. Great stop for lunch or breakfast with easy access via bike or car.

Amazing breakfast sandwich and coffee. I love bow and arrows coffee, I can here strictly to buy a bag and was surprised by the phenomenal latte and sandwich.

Matt Schonwalder

Friggin yum. We ate breakfast here almost every morning during our vacation in Victoria. The baked goods at to die for and the coffee is spot on. Do it.

Forced addition of 10% ‘service tip’ for TAKEOUT. So tired of quick stop restaurants requesting for tips in which they don’t provide any service other than handing you premade food. Fol epi takes it to a new level with the tip already included. Shame on you

Tim Brewer

Yum, I mean I should say yuck don't go there but then they wouldn't stay in business. So its better to let others know about how wonderful the goods are even if they run out of the stuff I want :(

Helen H.

Uses high quality organic red fife wheat. Bakes amazing products.

Heather Young

BEST BAKERY. BEST COFFEE. BEST ALMOND CROISSANTS. BEST CINNAMON BUNS. LOVED THE LOCATION. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE Africano coffee.

Rita Donn

A staff member was very rude to us today as we waited in line to be served. She preferred to serve the gentleman who was behind us in the lineup, because she knew him, and motioned for him to go to the check out with his meal before even acknowledging us at all. There is NO excuse for rudeness to clients.

Gustavo Leal

I wish Fol Epi matches its customer service with its prices, not a really pleasant and welcoming customer service! After very rude attitude of the customer service , i walked out and went to Crust on Fort, pay half for the baguette and have a very different customer service experience . Fol Epi you lost my business to Crust!

Excellent pastries and a nice calm atmosphere

Cameron Schmidt

Attractive pastries, bread and sandwiches. Unfortunately the pain au chocolat and the danish were not very flakey or buttery. Very sad to say the texture was like biting into a day-old pastry. Nevertheless still a nice place to hang with a coffee from adjacent Fantastico.

Gina Trinh

Excellent croissants, good bread. Organic and ethical ethos to their business management, which is very commendable. As such, their prices are higher, 5$ for croissant, $5.25 for a pain au chocolate with one strip of chocolate. Baguette was tasty. If you are able to afford the prices, it is very good.

Brian Van Der Haegen

Nothing better

Troy Pennock

I have been here twice in two days. Very friendly people working here. Great service and fantastic food.

Tracey 0123

So glad we visited this adorable, amazing bakery. The croissants are sooooo good - light/flaky, buttery surprisingly Europe like croissants! We had the ham and cheese and plain croissants as well we enjoyed a loaf of sourdough bread they are ‘known for’ according to the lovely, friendly woman that served me. I can’t recommend highly enough! Would have liked to try many other delicious looking pate, baking but wanted to be able to fit into my clothes for the trip home!

Wilson Lo

Every time we visit Victoria, we make an effort to visit Fol Epi. Everything tastes and looks amazing. Their almond croissants are excellent. Some items sell out later in the day so get there early for the best selection.

GCalgary Parker

fabulous pastries and quiche. location is outstanding and the coffee at the neighboring fantastico is the best

Minju Byun

Miles Deighton

Danishes were good, as was the almond pastry. They all had distinct flavor and good texture. I was only disappointed by the Eclair - the pastry cream needs more flavor.

SheIla

I had an extremely disappointing experience today. I have only heard rave reviews and brought out of town guests today for pastry’s and coffee. The server in a flowery sundress and combat boots was extremely rude - not only to us but other customers- she basically snarled at us when we asked questions answered In one word syllables - So sad that a place with such a good reputation has such a dour women at the front counter damaging their reputation. On the bright side the food was excellent too bad the service was such I won’t go back.

Konrad Chrzastowski

Decent cafe and patio. Nice place to stop by on a walk or bike ride. Food's a bit overpriced and decent but not amazing. Coffee and London fog were good

Gary Davis

Good coffee, good baked goods. 'nuf said!

Jason Sabatier

Found this place because I am always in search of a good Canelé de Bordeaux. I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the best I have ever had - wonderfully crispy on the outside, subtly flavored and custardy on the inside. The accompanying Strawberry Rhubarb Strudel was also delightful and the coffee was strong and smooth. My only disappointment was the macarons - having been spoiled by Thomas Keller’s Bouchon, I am used to a much more delicate crunch. The two I had had a nearly Meringue texture, too hard for me, but well flavored. I will definitely be back for the Canelé and highly suggest it to anyone interested in a perfect dessert for any day.

The place is all 5 stars from the clean cafe. Friendly staff.. amazing Expresso and food.. A joy to just sit..read and sip... Ahhhhh They followed the covid requirements by checking everyone.. it made me feel more safe to stay.. sit etc.. I WILL be back and so will you...

Delicious croissants, high quality baked goods, bread, amazing breakfast sandwiches & coffee. Cozy, inviting & memorable. Fol Epi does not disappoint.

I am No one

In my humble opinion, When a place charges the premium prices as this one does it needs to have a great product coupled with great customer service. The product is usually great or at least very good, The service leaves a lot to be desired.

Celina Fletcher

Delicious pastries and great London fogs.

Jay Teekl

Although they only have drip coffee, I go here instead of Fantastico next door, so I don’t have to deal with Fantastico’s staff. Delicious pastries at this fol epi location.

SY C

Good selection of bread and pastries, but price is on the high side for what you are getting.

cathy

RIP OFF. Earlier this year dropped by and paid $10.50 for a pre-made mushroom pate sandwich to go. It must have been sitting around a long time as the bottom was now soggy from the filling and the filling seemed very salty to me. This sandwich belonged in the garbage. Another reviewer already had called them on selling old stale sandwiches. Fol Epi is a big disappointment and not worth the high prices.

Bobson Dugnutt

This place used to make exceptional Panettone for the holidays. It was something I looked forward to every year. Maybe it's just COVID times and all places are dialing back the quality of ingredients and quality control. But their offering remains a horrible disappointment at $42. I'm disgusted as a person for even trying to partake in this opulence anymore. I'm going to donate twice the amount to the local food bank now.

Terrible customer service, expensive small portions hard to decipher menu and 2 areas, one for coffee and treats and one for Food ...my hiking group visits a lot of places and this is hands down the worst experience we have had...and the coffee on par with Starbucks, you know what I mean...needs a new star with a - in front of it...

Blake “Dreadfoul” Rados

Jessica Katsura

Amazing chocolate croissants and macrons!

Benjamin Levinson

Bicycle stop. Limited parking. Great coffee. Wonderful bakery.

Jason Skrenka

Fantastic bakery. I'm not sure if the coffee shop is part of the bakery, but it is terrible. Seems to be a problem in busy Victoria coffee shops, wait forever for a drink that never comes. When it finally does come, it's wrong! :(

Bil Hetherington

I live next door. This place is really expensive. The bread is good but if I am going to spend $8.50 for a loaf, is it too much to ask to have it sliced (upon request)? Especially because the very rustic crust is tough to get through? I will change my review when they get a slicer …

Yuppie food, overly greasy. Mishmash of flavors. Scrambled eggs had white streaks. Potatoes were dripping with oil. Bacon was limp. The salad kale tomato jam in baked eggs did not come together well. Above all the coffee was under extracted , milk too frothy and overheated.

Best croissant. On the island

Pierre Sphynx

Quality of coffee and bakery product is top notch... however, the prices are a big turn off. This was already the most expensive coffee shop/bakery in Victoria but now they have raised their prices again (Covid) and sadly, it is no longer worth it for me. 5 stars for quality, 1 star for value.

JM H

Omg the ham and cheese croissant and the cheddar and onion danish are INCREDIBLE!! We were driving around looking for another coffee shop and happened to find parking next to Fol Epi so we thought “why not just get coffee here!” And I’m so glad we did!! We ended up getting more croissants the next morning ???? My husband liked the coffee… it wasn’t necessarily my favourite but it sure wasn’t bad! Overall, I definitely recommend checking them out, especially for their baked goods!

The best pastries in town. Just taking apart the many beautiful layers in their pastry will make you happy if you're a pastry lover. Additionally, seasonal fruits and house made charcuterie don't let down the quantity of the baking.

Great baked goods: had the ham and cheese croissant. Definitely EXTREMELY over priced. $6.25 for a rather small croissant.

Jean-Paul Fournier

Some of the best bread and pastries in Victoria. Highly recommended.

S Noodleman

Had their almond croissant. A bit different from most almond croissants in that the almonds on top were whole crushed almonds rather than slivered. Was expecting frangipane (almond cream) inside but it was more of an almond jam, which was actually quite nice and would play well for those of you who are goo averse. Overall, really nice and other customers’ coffee looked good (did not try).
