Hands down, one of the best places in Ontario to get pies and tarts. The butter tarts and strawberry rhubarb pies are to die for. The crust is deliciously crumbly and the fillings have just the right amount of sweetness. Sweet but not overwhelming. A full sized pie will cost you a little over $13 and the you can get 6 mini butter tarts for $8. Frozen uncooked full sized pies are available for half the price.

This place is great! I always make it a habit to pop in there every year. The butter tarts are amazing and they have lots of other treats to choose from in addition to great choices of breads and buns. Picnic tables are out front of the store to use while enjoying fresh brewed coffee or that special treat!

We've been coming here for years, and always enjoyed all the delicious tarts, cinnamon rolls and pastries. It was for sale the past couple years, and is under new ownership now. Happy to see it remained a bakery. The previous owners left a great name for the place! However, becoming increasingly disappointed every time I go this summer. Very small selection. No more cinnamon rolls, wild blueberry tarts or variety of pastries. The bread and cookies are great, when they're fresh. I want to see this place to continue to do well, and hoped things would get better as the season went on. Sadly, it's not. I've never walked into a bakery first thing in the morning, wondering if they are open because the shelves are so bare. Still holding out hope for this place though.

Also the butter tarts were so good that while I was eating them, I got so distracted that I accidentally left my wallet on the roof of my car and drove away. The guy at the store biked all the way down the highway helping me look for it. Fortunately a stranger picked it up earlier on and gave it back...

I want to rate them higher, but recent experience just killed it for me. This bakery makes the BEST Cinnamon Roll cookies. I've waited 3 years to get them but they aren't making them. It's fine, COVID and all, gotta limit the menu. I get it. However, they have a number on the window asking people to preorder so I figured I'll ask if I place an order. Give them a few days to make them. It was a straight no. The reason was "they're too much effort" and "we don't have time" and "maybe if you ordered bulk Id consider it" Well, that says it all about how they regard their customers. Sadly, this bakery, just like the rest of Tobermory has tasted success, and become so commercial and tourist oriented they are just about sales at this point. Clearly they'd be willing to make the time for the right price. Won't be back again, won't recommend them anymore. Their products are good, and no matter what you buy, it will be tasty. But that's if they care enough to take care of their customers. I truly hope they get that back.

The four of us agree, this little bakery had the best baked goods any of us have had in our lives. I highly suggest their tarts, the crust was incredible and flaky. The cinnamon rolls were fresh out of the oven and perfectly fluffy and sweet.

Probably the best butter tarts I've tasted. Pastry was perfect. Melt in your mouth delicious. The filling has just the right amout of gooey yumminess. Husband and I went here after visiting the grotto. I highly recommend the breakfast pizza, so good! Their pastries are also delightful! We enjoyed the wild blueberry tart, cinnamon buns and a couple of savory danishes. I wish this place was closer to home so that I can come regularly! A definite must try!

The sausage pastry was nice, but had too much onion/the pieces are really big. The lemon tart filling tasted just like the commercial stuff that comes in a bucket. So I assume not scratch made, which is a little disappointing for a place that calls itself a bakery. Also, only open Friday through Sunday. Plus they close early on sunday.. So not great hours.

This Bakery is in the market on Granville Island in Vancouver. Their display is out of this world everything looks so good. A little on the pricey side but worth every penny. Out of all of there desserts I tried 10 of them tarts, cakes, cookies even an eclair! Everything was delicious!

Free 30 min customer parking. Fair pricing. Tried an assortment of pastries. Spinach and cheese pastry was nice. We enjoyed the donuts. The pastry on the buttertarts was a little thick but overall still pleased and will be back to try more ! On the list for next time: apple fritters !

Samosas were awesome, a real life saver before heading to the Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park. Good variety of food for a bakery, and so convenient when you have a short amount of time to kill before going to the park. Sitting areas outside with umbrellas are available.

"What's all the hype?" I thought as I read other reviews. I had the chance to visit this bakery myself and I must say, this little tub has big flavour. They really do the baked goods thing well. I had the cherry tart and the flakiness of that crust was perfection. Very flakey yet moist. A balance that eludes many bakeries. And surprisingly they carried this craft into their pizzas! This pizza was on point. I was surprised to have found a pizza of this caliber outside of a major city. My only criticism is the slice I had was slightly overcooked at the edge so my last bite tasted a bit burnt. But I would not let that dissuade me from coming back and getting their pizza again. Not pictured here but also eaten was the raisin butter tart. Which was also really solid. I'm not a fan them regularly but I can appreciate the quality of this one. They also had a raisin bread that I had for breakfast on a hike. The bread had a good springyness to it like a marshmallow but not as soft. It reenergized my body with every bite like I'd imagine a senzu bean would. The only thing lacking and due to my own error was a nice cup of coffee to enjoy it with. Also, the next day I had the daily special which was Mac and cheese. This was no Kraft dinner mind you. The cheese in this was so velvety and really hit the spot for when you want to indulge in comfort food. Long story short, this is another reason to come to Tobermory aside from the Grotto.

When we went up to place our order for 6 butter tarts, I blurted out we would like a dozen butter tarts instead. That turned out to be a premonition, because after we polished off the 6, we went back to get 6 more. They're what butter tarts should be: thick and gooey (not liquid) in the centre, with chewy bits of butterscotch on the side and top. Instead of heavy molasses and corn syrup, I tasted a lot of buttery creamy goodness. The pastry shell is flakey, crumbly and substantial, holding its own against the filling. These are the most satisfying butter tarts I've had in a very long time! The raspberry and chocolate pastry is also scrumptious. Perfect balance. I also got a second one of that with our second batch of butter tarts. ????

Delicious! High quality, home style baking. Get treats such as fruit tarts, donuts, coconut cream pie, cheese cake, and butter tarts. A selection of breads and buns. Offers a lunch time special, pizza and sandwiches. Family owned. Get there quick before they run out of your favourite. Usually only open on weekends so check their Facebook group to be sure before you make a special trip.

This may be the best baked goods my family had ever had. We came near closing time and only tried the desserts after we came back to our hotel (around 30 minutes after closing). The butter tarts and the brownies were so delicious that our daughter was fighting to change the scheduled Ferry ride the following morning so that we can buy more stuff. Highly recommend!

A must visit place in Tobermory. If you're having a craving for some chocolate try their chocolate or raspberry chocolate pastries. My favorite is definitely the cherry vanilla pastry. The flavors just explode in your mouth and the pastry is done just right. Their egg sandwiches are perfect for a hot summer lunch. Visited 2 days in a row and both days got their chocolate donuts. They are small with filling and the kids love them. They have just enough chocolate to satisfy cravings without giving a sugar high. Their croissants are light and buttery and great for breakfast. I'd visit Tobermory just to visit this place. The owner is a very friendly and sweet person. Must be because of all the sweet stuff she gets to make. Taking some home with us.

I was so excited to go to this bakery. We came by today on our way home from Tobermory. We got there just after 9 am, when they open. I was pretty disappointed there was not much to choose from. If you are going to open at 9 you should have some items prepared for us to purchase. We got some butter tarts, which were ok. Not the best I have had, but ok. The feta and spinach pastry was delicious and the apple fritter was ok, laking apples but fresh. I was really looking forward to buying more, but there was not much available. That was disappointing.

Unfortunately, the new owners of this establishment are not carrying forward the great standards of their predecessors. Some of the most popular offerings, like the breakfast pizza and quiches, are no longer offered. The breakfast sandwich (see pic) was mushy and unappetizing, and the tarts are very average for a bakery; not at all spectacular like they used to be. Most importantly, we found their attitude to be a little snarky, and neither warm nor welcoming. UPDATE: They greatly improved their game last summer. They now DO include breakfast pizza, and the all-important attitude and friendliness was vastly improved. This is once again a must-do experience if you are venturing up to the top of the beautiful peninsula.

I highly recommend the cherry vanilla turnovers they were definitely something special, even went back to buy some for the road! Coffee was decent as well. Honestly wanted this place to be great. It's really cute inside. Lots of great looking treats. We tried the coconut cream pies. Sadly treated like boxed Sherrif pie filling. Hardly tasted like coconut. Cream on top was not real cream, but tasted like the edible oil product some places use. My wife got coffee. Tasted as though they mixed the regular coffee into the hazelnut carafe without emptying or washing it out. My wife hates flavored coffee so she tasted it right away. She was really disappointed. We saw all the tarts, and had planned to come back and get some more, but after our experience, we didn't return.

Loved the pumpkin tart over here. We reached there around 2 on and almost all the stuff were already gone. So we bought coffee and pumpkin tarts. The best one I have ever tasted. Loved it !!!

Awesome bakery! They had so many really nice baked goods. Picked up a few different things to bring home. I am a huge butter tart fan but don't really like the runny ones. I guess they were just too fresh (if that is possible).
