Omg amazing! I have visited this place so many times now. The owners are so nice! I love love love the butter tartes. They are just perfect! I would love to see some with raisins and chocolate! The shop seems humble and unassuming on the outside, but once you walk in the front door, the first thing you notice is the amazing smell. Gingerbread. Greeted warmly by Richard and Kaori, the kids and I felt welcome to explore their fantastic gingerbread wonderland! All sorts of fun (and delicious) cookies and incredible houses - works of art, really. I haven’t tried them yet, but I also hear that they have some of the most amazing tarts and breads, and their ice cream is certainly a favourite of Manotick. I’ll be visiting again! Thank you guys so much!

The butter tarts here are amazingly delicious! Great cookies, ice cream and waffle cones too. One of the few places in Manotick to get ice cream, but worth the drive just for the butter tarts!

We tried every type of butter tart they had (5 or 6?) and all were freaking delicious! I’m a fan of the ones with a thick filling and less pastry and only 1 was a little runny - the white chocolate. The rest were perfect (imo). We also got a banana bread that was amazing. There are cheaper options out there but it’s a worthwhile treat! Definitely will be back. Also a popular ice cream place apparently and the gingerbread houses and other items on display were very impressive!

Be vigilant if visiting with toddlers: everything is beautiful and on display at toddler height. That said, my kids loved it here even though they didn't get to buy all 25 fancy cookies they wanted. And the ice cream is great.

What a local gem! This boutique shop has a great variety of semi and arguably sinful baked goods (pies, cookies, buttertarts, loafs) and customized and creative gingerbread cookies. Their ice cream is Kawartha Dairy- THE BEST Ontario and possibly global ice cream (imyo); the Gingerbreadman carries an impressive selection. Pricing and serving sizes are very good. Put all of this together with the super-friendly owners, free parking, and a cottage-like outdoor sitting-area in a beautiful community, and you’ll have a memorable, relaxing and yummy experience. Bet you’ll want to go back again, as we have!

Amazing little place!! Doesn’t look like much from outside but a gem of a place from inside. The gingerbread creations are breathtaking. Each cookie seems to be a unique design. I didn’t see 2 of the same kind. Almost too beautiful to eat!!

The food is so good! We had cookies, ginger snaps, peanut brittle, banana bread and tarts. Everything was excellent. The sweetness was well balanced, everything tasted amazing and it was all fresh. We will be back for more!

I drove 40 minutes to the Manotick Gingerbreadman store to buy some gingerbread, but found out that the store was closed. There is a sign outside the store indicating that the store will reopen in Feb 2021. Googlemaps saýs the store was open today. I was disappointed because I wanted to eat some good gingerbread and to smell the freshly baked goods inside. I am sure my rating will go up once I can actually go inside and try some of their food but for now its a 1 sorry. Update I was in the neighborhood and decided to go to the store once again. I was happy that I did. The cute store is beautiful inside. There is so many well decorated gingerbread products all over the place. The smell was aromatic and drove me to crave more gingerbread that I have had for years. Their gingerbread was great. I will come back and I think you will like coming here too. My rating is now a 5

We live in the core of Ottawa and we visited Manotick and its wonderful Gingerbreadman with our little girl for the first time today, on a gorgeous early summer's day. The verdict? A charming little store with fun, impressive gingerbread creations and a very kind and outgoing proprietor. My daughter really liked their bubble-gum ice cream, which she enjoyed at one of their two little tables outside the store. Unfortunately the cone was the only thing we bought at the store as we had limited cash on hand, which leads me to my only complaint: they only accept cash. I would have bought one of their artful gingerbread cookies and/or delectable-looking pies/tarts had they at least accepted debit. They do have a cash machine at the front of the store but many of us are not interested in paying the surcharge that comes with that convenience. I will try to remember to bring more cash next time we pay a visit to Gingerbreadman - there will definitely be a next time!

Seeing the world In a different way

Went in on a whim after lunch with my husband. The store smells and looks like a gingerbread wonderland and the owner was super friendly and rightfully took pride in his creations. We tried the butter tarts and they are just heavenly. Looking forward to digging into the ginger molasses bread with tomorrow’s coffee. Will definitely return.

Hidden gem!! Me and my family were on a road trip to Manotick for the day and after eating lunch at the 692 Coffee House we decided we wanted dessert- the store smells wonderful (they make everything but the ice cream there) and they have the BEST Kawartha Dairy ice cream. Great interior aesthetic, with crazy ginger bread art. Baked goods like banana bread and butter tarts are also sold there- worth the money!

Gingerbreadman sells different types of bread, cakes, candy and ice cream. The products look beautiful and taste great. Especially the ice cream in the summer is worth its price. The decorations inside are colourful, creative and memorable. There are about a dozen chairs outside where you can enjoy your meal.
