If you're looking for a tasty and a beautiful cake, this is where you should go. We had Gloria make our wedding cake many years ago. It looked and tasted great. We ordered the same cake 20 years later for our anniversary. In the meantime, we ordered many other cakes for numerous occasions. All were delicious and gorgeous-looking. The new cafe is also lovely. You should, however, know the prices are quite high.

Ordered the “Quarantine Party Pack” a 6” cake plus 12 cupcakes it was excellent! Not only was everything asthecticaly pleasing, it was delicious! I came a bit early to pick it up and everything was already ready to go. The ladies were nice and we’re doing a good job carrying out capacity rules. Not to mention the building it’s self is SUPER cute. Very vintagy. I’ll have to try more of there menu but definitely will be back for more cake ????

I ordered the High Tea takeout for Valentine’s Day. WOW! Amazing flavors and great presentation! I don’t usually like smoked salmon, but the smoke flavor was so subtle I actually enjoyed it. There is not one thing I would change. I’m glad I tried it out

The decadence... The blueberry muffins, raspberry scone, pumpkin caramel muffin, lemon tart were scrumptious ???????? However, the Raspberry and Oreo cheesecakes were not what I expected☹️... nothing like the cheesecakes I'm accustomed to which are made with more cream cheese. These were on the lighter and maybe healthier side? BUT they still tasted decent though. Preferences aside, I'd recommend them! Will be back for more of the scones and muffins plus that bread pudding I had my eye on????

I knew that the Art of Cake would be PERFECT for my mom's wedding! Gloria's cakes are not only beautiful and creative but also taste incredible. As a wedding photographer I've seen and tasted a lot of wedding cakes and Gloria's are absolutely among the best in Edmonton! I couldn't imagine a better choice for my mom's wedding and was so happy I got to indulge as well. Her quality is excellent, and customer service equally good. Highly recommended!!

It is a really nice spot to hang out with your girlfriends and catch up. They have really good salads, their feta and spinach quiche is delicious. Nice selection of teas and pastries. It is quite expensive though especially the coffee. Not child friendly at all! You can expect to be reminded of how old and fragile their furniture is just by having a child sit on it.

Oh my! This place is the bomb dot com. The service was polite and prompt, the decor is sweet with eclectic antiques; but lets be honest... you wanna come here for the cake! Strawberry shortcake was sublime, cheesecake was ace, cupcakes...are for real good, carrot cake loaf is dense and delicious, and the 7 layer chocolate cake it a treat for the eyes and mouth. Whatever you have you will NOT be disappointed by this family bakery.

I did online pre-order a birthday cake for my good friend who stay in Edmonton. I searched on IG and found out The Art of Cake. They are lovely, attentive and responsive to my additional note. My friend who is the birthday girl loves the cake so much! She said the taste is great and not over sweet. Thanks for delivery on time and the high quality cake. Would love to give it a try if there is a chance to visit Alberta in future.

Now that dining is back things are better. Getting scolded like a child by the staff during covid because i wasn't 2 Meters behind the next person in line who happened to be out of view around the corner shouldn't happen again. Nothing says we don't want your business quite like being treated in a condescending manner by the hired help. She wasn't there this past visit, so maybe they have corrected the problem.

I had The Art of Cake make my wedding cake and 548 mini cruelers for our dessert. Delicious food, sloppy customer service. I would not recommend doing large business or weddings through them. Gloria was a breeze to work with during the consult and made me so excited when she suggested that the lace on my cake could match the lace on my dress. I emailed Gloria a picture of the lace and awaited her response. I waited for months. Fast forward to a month before the wedding. I sent emails inquiring about delivery. No response. Two weeks before the wedding. I called the shop Monday and failed to get a hold of anyone, work hours posted are inconsistent. I called again the Tuesday to inquire about the delivery schedule and anything else I needed to clear up, like payment. I spoke with someone, who informed me that they were still working on the delivery schedule and would get back to me later that week. The Thursday, a week and a half before the wedding, no call yet (maybe I'm a little impatient) the same lady laughingly told me they were even done the delivery schedule for this weekend! At this point, I encouraged her strongly to figure out whether or not I would have delivery, because otherwise I had to find someone on my end to pick it up; I needed notice. She sorted it out and got me delivery, for a nice fee, even though she had told me they would be delivering to someone in the area as well. Way to make me feel good about paying that 65 dollar fee... Despite that, we sorted out the bill, and she took my payment information and I was sure she would process it then. The night before my wedding I received an email at 8 pm asking if it was okay to process my payment. I could have swore I told her to put it through, so I was a little put off by the email, worried that there would have been an issue on the day of the wedding, if they didn't receive confirmation. The cake showed up and looked pretty but did not match my dress. Everything tasted fine and it worked out in the end. Highly disappointed in the service considering the amount of money I had spent.

I knew as soon I started planning my wedding that I wanted Art of Cake! I had been lucky enough to taste many of their cupcakes as I would frequent their shop when I needed a break from work and something sweet while they were still in City Centre. Arranging the cake was easy and done through e-mail with no issues. The cake was beautiful and exactly what I was looking for - a chocolate naked cake with vanilla frosting and a chocolate drip topped with beautiful fresh flowers from fabloomosity. And most of all it was absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend Art of Cake for any of your dessert needs!!

The scones are perfect. Soft and delicate. The cinnamon bun was not overly sweet so that you could taste the cinnamon. The coffee was superb. No need to add sugar to the cappuccino. Nice patio that gets lots of heat. Best bakery in Edmonton by a long shot. Very European feel.

They are definitely talented and have wonderful designs. However, I find it very unprofessional when a business doesn't respond to an inquiry. I contacted them via their website and when no one responded I called...the lady took down my number and the date and said she would get back to me to see if there was availability. I then get an email with someone asking the wedding date again. But after that no one got back to me in regards to availability. I understand that people are busy but the least you can do is respond and say you are not available.

I ordered cakes from here a couple of times. The first cake was red velvet cake which I found to be too dry, the frosting to be too thick and it lacked flavour. I gave them benefit of the doubt and ordered a lemon vanilla cake a few months later only to be very disappointed again. The icing was too think, rich and flavourless. Also, recently I noticed that they just throw on a real flower on the cake instead of going through the work to make it with icing sugar. So now not only does it taste bad, it doesn’t look like a fancy cake either. I don’t mind paying $60 for a 6” cake but it has to taste good and look good for that price. To be frank, supermarket cakes taste better. I have had ten times better red velvet cake from Loblow’s City Market. I will not go back again.

Totally recommend, went with some friends for a bday get together, and we all loved. Cozy, great ambiance, ceiling chandelier, China cabinet with nice collections, live music, nice white round tables in place but also nice seating area in the hall right beside it. Great pastries regular and gluten free. Also nice specialty coffee, hot chocolate or pop. Menu includes delicious sandwich, house soup and quiche. Wheelchair access and bathrooms. Regular size Parking right in front of it. Must try it!

In the many times I’ve had something or have been to The Art Of Cake I’ve been blown away. Their cakes are truly works of art, never too sweet, and perfect texture with subtle nuances in each flavour. The variety of creations they make with lemon are a must, and picking up cinnamon buns on a weekend morning is a component of my self care.

This morning I went in to pick up a cake for my best friend. It was beautiful. At the last minute I saw another cake with fresh flowers and gold leaf and asked if that could be added to the cake I was purchasing. Gloria took an already amazing cake and her additions made it truly an angelic tribute to the person it was meant for. I literally had tears when she brought it back out to show me. Fabulous! I can't say enough great things about Art of Cake YEG. After much research of bakeries in Edmonton, I was recommended Art of Cake by a friend. I was in the market for a birthday cake for my girlfriend. I emailed them with what I was looking for and they responded quickly. Upon pick up of my cake I was wowed by the décor of this incredible café. It truly is a picture perfect place for high tea and evening treats. When I first saw the cake I was floored. Beautifully hand crafted flowers and a white chocolate plaque with my girlfriend name on it. I couldn't wait for her to see it. I'm personally not a cake fan as most bakeries sacrifice flavor for visual appeal. In simple terms, looks great, tastes awful (sickly sweet) but this was not the case here! Not only did it look incredible but it tasted even better. Great flavor combinations that weren't overly sweet but light tasting. The cake kept well in the fridge for a couple days while still tasting fresh. I highly recommend Art of Cake for your next birthday, anniversary, wedding, or date night. As someone who is in the early stages of wedding planning, Art of Cake is at the top of my list.

This is a great example of an independently owned business. There are many great qualities to this Bakery, not only their phenomenal desserts, but there ever expanding menu, personally I love the quiche for lunch. I love that they have live music on Fridays, When there isn't live music the music they do play is nice and not too overbearing. I find it is my favourite place to enjoy a pot of tea, a dessert and read a book or meet up with friends. I love the detail they have put into their decor and the vintage feel it has. The staff are always awesome and I can't say I've ever had a negative experience there.

The Art of Cake always has delicious treats! My sister got me my birthday cake there 2 years ago, a vanilla and lemon flavoured one, and it was amazing! Not too sweet, but not too bland as well. Their buttercream is fantastic! I've had some items from their lunch menu as well, and it's pretty tasty! Also, I've been to their high tea twice, one on a regular Sunday, and one last Mother's Day, and it was so good! All the treats were great, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere is top notch. The interior design they have is so cute, and they have ample space. Washrooms are super clean.

I have been going to this place for quite some time now. They have a seating area near the counter and in the hallway just outside of it. Near the counter they have posh seating and host tea sessions with real tea china! Such a treat! In the hallway they have more mosaic/ alternative seating to get cozy and socialize. They sell coffee with some of their treats as well. Their cakes are soft and a little bit pricey. The staff is friendly. I am personally not a fan of their buttercream icing, but they have other fantastic desserts as well. It would be very wise for you to come and cross this off your list of places to try!

Art of cake has been our go to place for makes and pastries They never have disappointed in delivery and quality of the fares. We bought Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The red velvet bread was up to the mark but the cream cheese icing was way too thick and was too rich for our taste. It tastes like biting into a chunk of butter. The cake looked amazing and was decorated very nicely. It would have been an amazing cake if cream cheese icing was little thinner.

I found this store from Google Maps. Unfortunately I wasted a lot of time to find there's place. They have not mentioned its address that there was located at the City Centre Mall (east building-basement). That day I had to buy a birthday cake immediately but there was not any ready cake. They said I had to order before. If you want to buy a cake and have no time to order do not go to there. At least phone them before go physically. And do not forget there is located at City Centre Mall (Churchill squire).

Went there as a last resort during fathers day because everywhere else was sold out and safe to say the raspberry coconut cake was the best cake I have ever tasted. Cannot believe it has taken me this long to discover but I’m glad I did. this place is a hidden gem!!

Deliciousness to the max. Did you ever wander into a shop and just immediately feel at home? On a whim I stopped in, based on their instagram photos to buy a special cake. So completely well taken care of and offered options on what to buy. Now, it's a bakery, and it does come down to taste. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. The cake not only looks good, but tastes devine. I purched a couple of scones as well. The savory one was cheddar and chive... I was literally licking my fingers wanting more and not wanting to waste a morsel. Do yourself a favor.... and those you love..... quit baking to impress them... go to the lovely people at The Art of Cake... your tummy will thank you.

Wrost place ever to deal with deal with.. called in 2 weeks prior to order a pecan pie cake they said they could do that after we called multiple places..on the day was i told my son to pick up and get something written on it he gave his name for the order they showed him and him being just the person to pick it up and being told it was pecan he seen it had that and said that must be it he told them to write something on it and payed and left.. when I got home from work asked how much was I was shocked when he said $45 cus I know that place is very pricy I opened the box to my surprise it was a pie not a cake.how do I go to the birthday party with a pie.. it was way late that evening the store was closed and it takes 2 weeks to order a cake????so I called right in morning to see what they can do as it was the wrong item.. they said nothing we can do it's your fault we don't make that.. so when I ordered no one told me you don't make it I was told yes... she tried to say we can give me a discount on a cake, I would have been happy to bring the pie back but they no due to Corona I understand . But then she changed her mind and said no discount it's your fault once you left the store.. I did not know they give the wrong item just to make a $ so disappointed in this place was the first time I went there and traveled 30min to get there as I heard so many good things joke make me feel bad for there mistake dint even wanna give 1 star for how they made me feel At the party we served the pie and it was the worst pie I ever tried and pecan pie is family favorite... it was nothing like a traditional pecan pie was covered in a layer of sugary jelly that was not appetizing to eat and the filling was so sugar when we ate it was like crunching on sugar no one could eat it...wasted $45 on the pie when I could have gone to safeway and would have been way happier.. was considering this place for my wedding cake not anymore.????

I’d really like to see this place without Covid-19 restrictions. There seems to be real promise here. The use of antiques with cakes works well. Right now due to restrictions you can tell it makes things a touch awkward. That said the coffee had depth of flavour as coffee should have. The desserts were tasty. If I had any suggestions it would be to put labels on the desserts. I wasn’t quite sure what I was ordering. I might of ordered more had I knew what stuff was. Don’t be afraid to sell this stuff. Even if I don’t buy a cake today I might say to the wife, get the Name of Cake at Art of Cake for so and so birthday. All things considered I will be back. Like I said this place has real promise. I could see them being a part of the bakery, cafe scene for years to come. PS was a four star review but after the raspberry cheesecake I have to give five stars. Wife will be mad I didn’t save her any :(

Whoever picked the name “the art of cake” for your shop is truly very thoughtful and 100% correct. I am so glad I have found you guys now!! Not going anywhere else even for a single cupcake haha My daughter literally picked macaron from the top part and ate all of it (Usually she does not like sweet that much) + she ate actual cake as well !! I believe if a year old loves your cake then there is no question about its taste at all..!! Hidden gem. Very nice staff. I tried a gluten-free chocolate cupcake, a cherry sencha tea and they were both very tasty. My husband had a very well poured americano and a jalapeño scone. Soooooo good!

Gloria was great during our consultation and the cake was absolutely delicious and looked so gorgeous. Could not have been happier with the result of that. My only critique would be communication. It was difficult to keep in contact and get my questions answered. Sometimes I didn't hear back for months. We hired The Art of Cake to create a nice simple cake for our wedding. We were a little non-traditional and asked for Victoria Sponge Cake as the filling of our cake. We could not have been more satisfied with the result. The cake was glorious and beautiful, both on the inside and the outside. Most importantly to me though, as a avid fan of cakes, was that it was simply delicious. Everyone enjoyed the cake and the choice of filling. Gloria and her team only needed a short brief and discussion of what we wanted in order to create the perfect cake for our wedding. Highly recommended!

First time coming in on Saturday afternoon, very happenin place! The desserts and baking are all visually stunning, and they taste even better! My fiance got a raspberry square thing I think, and I went in with the full intention of only having one cupcake, but ended up going back for a second(both Oreo) because it was so good! I knew I love this place the next moment I walked in - design is amazing and they have a display of tens of vintage cups! Who else has it in Edmonton?!? Friendly staff member explained me what is what and gave very nice recommendations! And yes - their snicker doodle cookies with butter cream were amazing! And maple walnut cruller was good too. But the best, the most amazing, the most delicious was cinnamon rhubarb muffin... I got lucky cause it was right from the oven, it was still hot, and it was so so worth it! Slightly crunchy top, soft on the inside, perfect sweetness of dough and complementing tartness of rhubarb... My Sunday breakfast was amazing! They also have chocolate cake slices and cinnamon buns - come early and they will be still warm!

Worth your money. First time ordering a cake here, and it was worth it. It was kinda far from my home, but it was okay. The cake that I got was the chocolate with vanilla BC, the cake is moist, not too sweet. The frosting was also good, it goes well with the cake itself. The chocolate on the top has a nice touch of bitterness on it. Presentation was good. Overall, I highly recommend this shop.

The Art of Cake ???? know s the art of taste, the art of great coffee ☕️, the art of excellent service and the art of a great experience. The cafe/bakery has a wonderful ambiance to sit in and enjoy your food and drink selections. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and came on an evening when there was live music. We stayed inside but there is a really nice patio outside to enjoy in the warm weather. The washroom facilities are clean as is the rest of the cafe. The cakes ????, cupcakes ????, pies ???? are awesome. My wife enjoyed the pumpkin pie and I had the chocolate chip banana bread with brown sugar icing and both were great. We enjoyed the French press coffee. There is also food menu items available. We have been here before and will return again. We definitely recommend coming here for great pastries and great drinks.

Went there personally to book an appointment for consultation for my wedding then they told us to go online and email cezanne to make an appointment. Emailed her with the cake that we want and she gave us a quote on how much would it cost us. We emailed her the same day and that we would like to go through but have no luck on getting a response (maybe she’s just busy). My fiancé called the store to follow up and told us that their email is down for a while and would call us back. Days passed hear nothing after getting back our info went there personally again with my fiancé to sort things out and they are telling me the same reason and will get a hold of us until now I haven’t heard anything from them and my wedding is in a month. Pretty disappointing given the fact that we are returning customers from my best friends wedding last time when I bought their cake from them. I think it would be nice if you improve your communication with your clients regarding consultations and what not. If you just told me that you can’t accommodate my order then I would totally be fine about it, but being in a limbo waiting and hoping that you would respond and have. A wedding cake made by yours is a no no.

It was my first time at this place. The ambience is very unique (it is a mix between elegant and cheesy). The deserts look beautiful and l had 2 different ones: - chocolate cake/mousse: it was delicious, not too sweet and the flavors were very well balanced. A great option if you like mousse. - coconut cake: it was a disaster. It was the first slice of the cake (what in my mind would probably mean the cake was fresh). The cake was heavy and extremely hard. The icing was hard too and didn't taste good. And there is no coconut at all on it. Very disappointing. I am giving 3 stars because the service was amazing. It is a bit pricey and l probably won't go back soon. Also l brought home to my husband a lemon tart (he loves lemon tarts) and he said was way too sweet but not terrible.

It looks like such a sweet place. But they lost my business today! I drove up from Red Deer to clean my families gravestones. St. Joachim's cemetary did not have their water taps on today. I went over to the cute Cafe and asked if they could fill up my pail with cold water. I told the young lady what had happened. Her response said she could not because there was no manager on to ask permission. Like really?? Very upsetting! I just needed water to clean my families headstones! Last week I kind of dropped the ball on getting my wife a birthday cake. I walked down to the basement level of Edmonton City Centre and picked up a 6" cake at the Art of Cake. It was topped with a mix of dark and white chocolate flakes. The cake was described as marble inside. I took a chance, knowing that the cake here was known to be really yummy based on trying some samples at a bridal show the week before. The next day we had some company to celebrate. Everyone talked about how good it was. I can't even imagine how awesome a custom ordered cake would be, but the window cake was darn good. Good work!

Beautiful place, nice tables and chairs and flowers, open, airy and bright. This picture was taken at high tea but if you are looking for a birthday or anniversary cake, this is the place to get it. They made our wedding cakes too! The cream puff is a personal favourite, so is the strawberry rhubarb pie. Make time to stay or just pick up the goodies you want. Enjoy!

I went there today for my fourth time so it was due time that I leave a review. I thoroughly enjoy coming here. I love that it's local, I love that the baked goods are incredibly tasty, and I love that there's always so much selection. The second we arrived we are greeted with this very kind and bubbly lady behind the counter. The staff in general were actually kind and helpful. I had the sticky pudding and my friend had the carrot cake and both were absolutely incredible! Each time I have gone here I've enjoyed everything I've had. I don't typically talk about bathrooms that much but the bathrooms were impeccably clean and cute. I should actually consider doing an order through them as they do custom orders. Definitely coming back for some more baked goods.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Art of Cake. I've started going here for my birthday cake and now I will go nowhere else! They are always prompt with responding to any request I have had, with respect and willing to work with me however they can to make things how I want. This weekend they advertised High Tea and did say no dietary restrictions at this time which is understandable considering how many orders they were probably doing. I took a chance because we don't eat some of the food that was offered and asked them to just not put those ones in there, not really thinking that it would be accommodated, and rightly so seeing as I was asking for something they already said they wouldn't be able to do. To my delighted surprise they did accommodate and the meat that we had asked them to not put in, they didn't! They didn't skimp on food either. The valentine's high tea was soooo delicious! Good portions and amazing variety. Anything I have tried there has been scrumptious. I love the atmosphere of the place and the tiny decorating details. I would love to eat in there when Covid is over. Above the food is the amazing staff. Even when they are busy they make sure to come to help me out or ask if I've been helped as soon as they see me. I'm awful with names but there is a gentleman that is on staff that is so sweet and kind that really makes the place so welcoming and feels like a great place to work. Thank you Art of Cake! You have my business now and in the future!

The cake wasn't as good as I was expecting. It was beautiful decor and great service though. We liked the sandwich but I prefer balsamic vinegrette as opposed to straight balsamic. Its also on the pricier side. Also there's no ac. But maybe that's because its open concept.

I've always loved coming to this place. It's a hidden gem within Edmonton for sure! I got a cake for my family member's graduation and The Art of Cake has never disappointed me, each visit. Each time someone asks me about cake, I will always refer them here! Each and every detail they put on the cake is very carefully done, and much love and effort is very obviously shown in each and every cake they make and show. Of course, along with their lovely custom cakes, they come at a price. Go ahead and buy a lemon tart, eat it and see for yourself whether their prices are worth it to you or not. I will say for sure without a doubt, their cakes are worth every cent! The atmosphere is much like that of an antique café, in a very hidden part of Edmonton. The atmosphere is quiet, but with delightful ambience that is lively and embraces the daylight, doors kept open for a lovely breeze. I've rallied up here with other Farmers' Market vendors for a meeting, and their selection of food offerings were such a blessing! Highly recommended, go and give them a try! I wouldn't go anywhere else for high quality cakes!

Being the noob that I am I’ve only recently found out about this gem; Via Instagram on their brand new location, AND BOY ARE YOU IN FOR A TREAT. “Art Of Cake” is them being modest... The whole space is a piece of art. Known to be the little cupcake store in the lower level of City Centre before the food court got revamped. This local duo of artisans have been building a reputation within the pastry community in YEG and there is starting to be a pretty huge cult following. Located in the Brewery District by Oliver Square, sitting on 105st, basically behind the large staples building. This brick little strip is an upcoming location with the outfront having more of a warehouse-esque look. Beside the hipster vibed coffee shop Iconoclast, the grey door on the right of you will open to another airy room where you’re then welcomed with an opened bright red door. You’re immediately engulfed into a beautiful space playing along with aroma of treats. Old-world decor placed upon various places, with amazingly crafted pieces to coax your eyes throughout your stay. The soaring ceilings with elegant chandeliers hang above you drawing the whole room together bringing you to feel like you’re somewhere special. Which is most important as they do take orders for special events like weddings and birthdays! We had the chance to try their Hot Chocolate - 5/5 - Just as creamy as you’d expect with more of a milk chocolate taste. I had the pleasure of devouring a Red Velvet cupcake - 5/5 - SO MOIST, and downright delicious. Had the perfect amount of icing which was creamy rich and not too sweet. The Pink Macaron - ⅖ - was not my favorite. The shell was nice and crispy enough while also flaking perfectlywith each bite, the downer was the filling. I think the sweet syrup inside was way too overwhelming and ruined it for me. Come for the space and the cupcakes. They know how to set the tone for a great atmosphere in the room and the cupcakes are honestly a great pick me up. No regrets, 100% recommend.

We walk past this store getting off the LRT going into the city centre mall, I seen some yummy snacks my toddler can have, we tried the whipped shortbread cookies and they were Absolutely amazing I think about them everyday lol, we also get cupcakes which are also out of this world, I will be sending everybody I know to get a cake from here. My sweet boyfriend picked up a red velvet cake from here for my birthday, and it was SO disappointing! The cake was dry, the cream cheese frosting was ruined by the excessive white chocolate shavings that tasted like plastic. We expected better for a "high-end cake" with a higher price point, like if someone is paying $60 for a small cake, it shouldn't taste like cheap grocery store bakery cake.

Beautiful bakery/cafe! Nice mini chandelier lighting, bright tables and chairs, cute China tea cups with fresh flowers and a cozy section with couches and relaxed atmosphere. The latte I had was very good, not too bitter and they had soy and almond milk for non milk options. I also got the snickerdoodle sandwich and it was amazing! So creamy and not overly sweet, it was seriously perfect. They have so many options, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, cookies, squares, etc. Definitely stop by, it's so worth it.

I went today to pick up a batch of mini-cupcakes, and as usual, loved the selection of baking available! It's difficult to only walk away with what I went in for. My server was lovely, attentive and friendly. We have never had a negative experience with any of the staff, who are always ready to help. The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce hosted an event at The Art of Cake's new Brewery District/Oliver location last night and it was PERFECT! The owners are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and talented. Their passion for what they do really shines through. The space is large, open, beautifully decorated with a collection of antique furniture, chandeliers, mis-matched chairs, and gorgeous china. There is plenty of space to bring children/strollers and host events (a bridal or baby shower here would be AMAZING!) The talented staff prepared a gorgeous spread of food and desserts displayed on pretty and unique serving ware. I look forward to working with them again and trying more of their delicious creations soon!

We were driving past and saw the sign, in need of a light lunch and my boyfriend always up for baked goods we stopped in. (Quick FYI for those in wheelchairs, park around the front of the building not the back, that's where wheelchair access into the cafe is). Service was friendly and quick. We ordered coffees, quiche, a sandwich plus a cupcake. All was great. 15 minutes after ordering and sitting down to enjoy our coffees the front counter staff came around and asked if we had gotten our lunch yet, we did not. We also did not think it was too long to wait so we weren't to worried. They apologized profusely and rushed it out. They also gave us a free dessert to take home. Great way to start our first visit. Definitely felt our time and patronage was appreciated will be back and highly recommend them.

Best High Tea on YEG! There are not many places in Edmonton that serve High Tea. Hotel MacDonald, Cafe Linnea and The Art of Cake. I have also been to Neverland Tea Salon in Vancouver. Hands down, The Art of Cake surpasses them all! Chris called us to confirm our reservation and make sure no one in our group had any dietary restrictions. We had the good fortune to be seated at the table right by the window where the lighting was excellent. Everything on the menu was delicious and delightful. The finger sandwiches were filling and flavorful. The scones were warm, light and buttery soft and delicious. We destroyed the first level, moved on to tier two and enjoyed the sweets. Even the gingerbread man minus gum drop buttons! The macaron melted in your mouth and was the best macaron I have had in the city. The flavor combinations were excellent. The tea was a perfect compliment to everything on the tray. We wrecked this deletable tower trio and are already planning our return in the New Year. Great place finely decorated with great tasting food. I found it a bit crowded for my tastes and the line guitarist music was a bit loud but was required to muffle out the echoing conversations from the other patrons. Free wifi is available and they take credit and debit. I did not organize the event but i was told they operate at scheduled times.

This is by FAR the best cupcake/cake cafe my Husband and I have ever been to! We had a craving for red velvet cupcakes yesterday morning, and we called to see if they had them. Not only did the amazing staff set some aside for us, but they were the most unreal cupcakes we ever had! I’m ashamed to say we ate 12 cupcakes by noon! I do not usually write reviews but OMG this place is seriously so good! I have been to every bakery in Edmonton but this place really nailed it with their cakes. I picked up a last minute cake for my Dad's birthday and they were very professional and helpful through the whole process which is greatly appreciated. The cake itself OMG was so good. Its so moist and the flavour is rich, yet not overpowering that your teeth ache from the sugar. I also got a gluten free cupcake and has to be the best cupcake i have ever had. Thank you and I will be returning back!

Hands down the best bakery in Edmonton. Cakes, cupcakes, brownies and a variety of other decadent desserts are just incredible. You can sit down for an awesome breakfast sandwich or come for lunch as well. They have a really fun and relaxed cafe feel. I haven't been to one of their Sunday high teas, but plan to. To top it all off, the staff is always pleasant, helpful and friendly. My wife and I come here with our toddler and have never had a bad experience.

Ordered a chocolate flavored birthday cake last week and the cake was fantastic. Dense and rich in flavor and not overly sweet. Beautifully decorated with a white chocolate rose and flowers. Very tasteful. At $60 for a small cake this place is on par with other bakeries, much better priced than sugar n spice which I didn't enjoy as much. Would definitely order again!

I heard great things about this place .... i was trying to get two cakes created for birthdays in Dec. I called and left messages and didn't get a call back after waiting for a month. Finally I got a hold of a sale rep and she was extremely rude to me. I tried getting a quote and she wouldnt even hear my ideas over the phone. When I mentioned the dates I needed, she talked about all the corporate busy they had those weeks, which made me feel like my orders were unwanted. I still followed the instructions to get a quote and sent in the email and still have yet to get my quote. Its been over 2 weeks. Clearly they dont want my business for these parties. The person who referred me is disappointed, she has used your services a couple times and had great results. One of the cakes would have been for her birthday. Now i feel like I am scrambling to get these cakes made.

Wonderful treats. Grabbed an assortment for a picnic and was not disappointed. The cheesecake was like a creamy, tasty cloud! A touch pricey but the quality was worth it. Will definitely be back to try other things. Also the decor was very cool, would be a super cool place to go for a coffee date.

One of the best bakeries in Edmonton and somewhat under-rated! I’m very fussy about cake and generally find North American baking too sweet and artificial tasting, but they know what they’re doing. Delicious pastry and cakes, balanced, not too sweet and a really cute atmosphere! We hired them for our wedding cake last year as well and they delivered a DELICIOUS, timelessly beautiful cake. All night people were telling us they “usually hate wedding cake but couldn’t get enough of ours”. Hope this place sticks around forever!

We were not greeted and when they did decide to speak with us they used a passive aggressive tone. We didn't feel welcome for a moment while in there. I would consider myself fairly picky about cupcakes. I don’t like anything too sweet (duchesses) or too buttery (fuss). That’s why these are my favourite cupcakes in town. You really can’t go wrong with any of their selection, but my favourites are Vegan Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Cookies and Cream. Of course, I always venture to taste their new flavours too. Friendly staff, refreshing high tea atmosphere with antique, distressed furniture.

Our server didn't actually greet the table, explain what was on the tray or come back to check on us...ever. The cinnamon buns and lemon tarts are amazing, though.

My initial inquiry stated the date I needed the cake along with the special occasion. I received a response for more information on the type of cake I wanted. After sending a picture and details on what I wanted, Art of Cake said they couldn't take anymore orders because they're fully booked. These emails were exchanged over 1 day. If they were too busy to take more orders then why not say so from the start. I began to think that was their excuse for not being able to take the challenge of making such a cake. They seem unreliable.

Best high tea in the city. Beautiful place and excellent treats. Tea served was earl grey and there was a good variety of finger sandwiches and sweets. Scones were melt in your mouth tender. Place is very popular so you have to make reservations well in advance. Only critique is that there were a lot of sweets relative to sandwiches, if you're more of a dessert person it might be ideal. Actually left feeling satisfied and not still hungry like some high tea services.

You can tell they are trying to create a warm space and I cannot wait for them to re-open for dine in! The staff allow you to browse, but ask if you're ready to order or have any questions. The food itself is devine! The egg salad is by far my favourite! For desserts the cheesecake is absolutely next level but even the cupcakes are simply perfect. The selection of ready made cakes is always something else entirely and it's so nice to know you can find something beautiful last minute. One of my families favourite places to grab goodies to go from!

My wife and I purchased a cupcake for her grandma's birthday. We thought it would be a nice treat for her since she's in the hospital. Although the cupcake didn't look very fancy, we were assured that it was better than other cupcakes from other bakeries and the word "good" was repeated many times. We were excited to present the cupcake and since it doesn't take a lot to beat hospital food, we were sure she would enjoy it. Unfortunately, grandma wouldn't have more than a bite and after tasting it ourselves, we understood why. The cupcake had the flavor and imagination of a box cake from the dollar store. Grandma loves cupcakes and next time we will be sure to purchase them from a different bakery.

This place is amazing! I have never been here before today. I read some reviews and called them about making a cake, or 2, for my sister's birthday. The girl on the phone was kind and helpful. She gave me suggestions when I asked and offered a great solution when I asked for something that was out of my budget. The cakes were beautiful and incredibly tasty. Not too sweet. Everybody said they taste home made. The gentleman that was helping me when I picked them up helped me to my vehicle and was engaging and friendly. He told me that it is a family business and his Dad loves making cakes. You can really tell. If I have a shower or party to host this will be a great spot for it. Will definitely be back!

I have visited Art of Cakes many times and have tried almost their entire dessert menu. They have the very best cinnamon buns in the city. They are fresh, not dry and not too sweet - absolute perfection! We also love their fruit scones, savoury scones and their High Tea is exceptional.
